Fabulous thank you! 💗

ToughMum · 13/03/2023 20:16

I was following the other posts closely. Appreciate another one has been created. My son is 4yo and has various diagnosis and needs. I applied for DLA end of December 22 scan date. I am keen to find out if he will get it because if he doesnt I am ready for a battle and appeal. I sent a book off so they better read it because if they don't I will make sure I call them out. We are on week 10 had 2 letters and a text. It is such a battle to get anything these days. It should not be this hard. TiredMum

Snickerdoodles19 · 13/03/2023 20:20

@ToughMum yes it’s very hard going and I understand how you feel, it’s just never ending the wait! My current award ends tomorrow and I still haven’t heard from them, I’m ringing up tomorrow as I think it’s been with dm for a week now

That's just madness. I hope you get through and they confirm good news. I wonder what week they are on in new applications... if anyone can confirm would appreciate.

Snickerdoodles19 · 14/03/2023 03:28

Morning, I woke up to a payment from them a week earlier than my normal payment so they either haven’t made a decision yet or it’s been declined x

OP posts:
Brown2010 · 14/03/2023 03:52

@Snickerdoodles19 how do you know it’s either one of those outcomes 🙈 it’s all confusing 😫 .. fingers crossed for you xx

Snickerdoodles19 · 14/03/2023 04:21

@Brown2010 because it ends today so they have either given me my payment a week earlier because they haven’t renewed it or it’s still with the dm and no decision has been made so they can’t carry on the award x

OP posts:
Brown2010 · 14/03/2023 07:25

@Snickerdoodles19 oh ok .. when I rang yday she did say they are working on a lot of renewals that have gone past their end date 🤞🏻 Xx

Snickerdoodles19 · 14/03/2023 08:05

@Brown2010 im really hoping so because I’m really stressed now and my stomach is in knots. I suffer with severe stress and alopecia which is brought on my stress and I’d say I’ve currently lost 40% of my hair x

OP posts:
Brown2010 · 14/03/2023 08:54

@Snickerdoodles19 😢 I know it’s very stressful .. I really do think it’s had an effect on me to I have been unwell since January one thing after another and I do think it’s all to do with the stress from this 😫 .. I hope you get some answers today or at least by the end of the week! X

Snickerdoodles19 · 14/03/2023 09:18

@Brown2010 omg just got off the phone, he’s been awarded hrc,lrm for the next 2 years I’m actually crying I feel that relieved, decision was made on Saturday 11th xx

OP posts:
Brown2010 · 14/03/2023 09:34

Omg congratulations! I’m so happy for you! Thank god it’s finally over .. so do you know because they paid you early when will your next payment be? Just incase same happens to me🤣 X

Snickerdoodles19 · 14/03/2023 09:40

@Brown2010 yes so it will be 4 weeks from today’s payment so I only received 3 weeks due to the award ending and then a new one starting, just don’t panic like I did if that’s what happens xx

ToughMum · 14/03/2023 11:49

@snickerdoodles19 great to hear your good news! @brown2010 I hope your is good news too. Fingers crossed.
I just want to know with my son either way and if it's MRC then I can get carers. I left work and a really good career to look after my son... #anxietyhigh #justtellmealready

Paigej93 · 14/03/2023 13:23

Hello, I had the forms sent to me in October 22, I sent them off in November, they didn’t receive them until December 15th apparently due to the strikes, I spoke with someone last Thursday, she said a decision should be made for me towards the end of this month beginning of April. The wait is so frustrating, first time claiming for my child - they haven’t asked me for additional paperwork so hoping they got all they need from our drs I’m stressing because he hasn’t had the ‘official’ diagnosis but the school and drs are with me that’s he’s on the autistic spectrum, I’m ready to fight his case just wish they’d give you more of an update on the phone rather than yeah it should be within so and so. She told me it’s currently taking 14 weeks to get an answer.. so if going by 15th December I’m a week away from 14 weeks..

Brown2010 · 14/03/2023 13:24

@ToughMum im the same if I don’t get Mrc again then I need to look for more hours ect .. I do currently work but only 8-10 hours a week so ide need to double it what’s fine but I just like to be organised x

Brown2010 · 14/03/2023 13:26

@Paigej93 @ToughMum don’t know if you guys know but there is another page if you search Dla part 10 more people on that one I think x

Snickerdoodles19 · 14/03/2023 13:27

@Paigej93 the diagnosis doesn’t really matter as such to them it’s all about the extra care needs compared to a child the same age and their everyday life x

Hi there, just jumping in to say I have also had a letter the past week to say “sorry we haven’t given you a decision yet…”

My scan date was 13th January.

Best of luck to all waiting.. I know I’ve been feeling so anxious since that letter wondering if I have sent enough evidence off and weather it was just a generic letter or weather they cannot come to an agreement on wether my little girl is entitled or not.

SallyCinnamon30 · 15/03/2023 11:24

Omg I sent the forms off yesterday and I think I may have forgot to sign the declaration at the end of the booklet. Do you think it was get rejected because of this ? Tried ringing but just realised they are on strike today

Mommax3 · 15/03/2023 13:49

I applied forms received on the 28/11. I called on Monday and her claim has been declined. Absolutely gutted waiting on the letter to arrive to apply for a mandatory reconsideration. The lady on the phone said the Decision maker said there were no assessments in place and this negatively impacted her claim. Also that her care needs are not more than the average 6 year old (definitely not the case) and school have stated she doesn’t appear to be sleep deprived whilst she is there 🙃 I had a meeting with her SENCO and class teacher yesterday, both freely admitted that she is struggling academically but behaviour is controlled at school. She has been referred to CAMHS & the sleep clinic also, so they clearly haven’t read the paperwork. I’m currently getting letters/referrals together to go towards the MR. Their childminder has also written a letter/statement about her additional needs during her care.

Sarahc91 · 16/03/2023 08:25

Leaving a message to follow the thread scan date 16th Jan so still a while yet for me x

Caseymayy · 16/03/2023 10:17

Hello,

My son has been awarded DLA this week and I have requested through UC for the back dated payment. I have been told it has gone to a decision maker, but does anyone know how long this will take roughly?

Lodol · 16/03/2023 14:30

What information did you send?
I have a 7 year old and have to do personal hygiene etc for her and worried they will see that as part of her age rather than her needs x
