Mid December I sent mine in. Just got awarded.

readingisgreat · 27/03/2023 12:12

My son's DLA runs out tomorrow. Called DWP at 9am this morning. Said they will make the decision tomorrow. Oh dear.

I have a form in it was scanned 30/12 and I was told it was likely to be end of April for a decision. My other little girls renewal was scanned 21/2 and I've already had the letter saying its been renewed, it was due to end 14/3. I'm in Liverpool if this helps anyone x

ToughMum · 27/03/2023 14:42

My son was awarded today. Scan 29th December. If anyone is contemplating ringing I would say do it now. Instead of worrying like I was. I was on hold 45 mins and have your child's reference ready.

AprilShowers223 · 27/03/2023 15:43

Calling now

MrsA15 · 27/03/2023 15:55

I’ve had 2 missed calls whilst being at work and when I’ve looked it says it DWP. I dunno if this is a scam so I’m ringing incase. Anyone know if it is then why they’d be ringing??

Sas1410 · 27/03/2023 16:25

Sometimes they call just to ask a few more questions or to clear up any queries they might have x

AprilShowers223 · 27/03/2023 18:58

What number did they call from for reference? I was on hold for an hour - they said they are advising 14-16 week wait

MrsA15 · 27/03/2023 20:11

I finally got through and it wasn’t a phone call from them. 0800 023 2635 this is the number that called for reference. I would always usually ignore but because they rang twice in quite quick succession I thought oh maybe it may be them and when I googled it, there was answers contradicting wether it was a scam or not! It clearly is! Im 14 weeks waiting this Thursday and still no decision made!! Im not hopeful at this point I don’t know if I sent enough info!

Myworld1957 · 27/03/2023 21:50

Hi hope you don’t mind me asking. My sons claim ended 17/3/2023 but they didn’t receive his renewal until 20/03/2023. Any one else been in a similar situation, just wondering if it’s likely to take the full 17 weeks 😩

Snickerdoodles19 · 28/03/2023 08:00

@Myworld1957 you might be better off ringing them as they might class it as a new claim rather than a renewal

OP posts:
MygirlGrace · 28/03/2023 08:04

@Myworld1957 Do you have proof of when you posted the form. As message above says they may treat as a new claim rather then a renewal. Ring at dot on 9 o’clock if you can they answer right away. Just to check xx

Myworld1957 · 28/03/2023 08:13

@Snickerdoodles19 @Myworld1957
thsnkd ladies. I spoke with someone at 9am yesterday who put a note on the system saying my claim ran out 17/3 so they knew I am without payments.

Mummytolittleones92 · 28/03/2023 10:47

Hi everyone, I have been reading these threads with interest and wondered if anyone could help me please? I am starting the process to get my little boy assessed for possible autism/ADHD. I’ve suspected for years that something was wrong due to his behaviour/sensory issues/outbursts - so many things tbh but I think I buried my head in the sand and hoped it would get better 😢 Well obviously, it doesn’t go away and he’s 6 now and I need to get him help. Anyway, I’ve spoken to the SEN teacher at his school. He doesn’t display any behaviours at school other than some anxieties but the SEN teacher said that isn’t uncommon with autism? He comes home and then the behaviour starts as he’s been holding it in all day 😢 She has agreed to put a referral to the paediatrician in for me and says she will write on it that she fully supports me. I am thinking of phoning for the claim forms today for DLA. If all I’ve got is the referral letter though (as well as pages of my own evidence about his behaviours) will this be enough or will my claim be rejected on this basis? Has anyone else been successful with just a referral letter and their own evidence? Thank you for reading if you’ve got this far, I just feel so alone at the moment x

Sas1410 · 28/03/2023 14:18

@Mummytolittleones92 you can apply while your little one is waiting on being assessed, tell them about your son in his worst days and what extra help he needs over another child his age. Get a a letter from the school to support your application and maybe one from your health visitor if they are still involved in any way x

Thank you so much. He is 6 so no HV involvement, and the school have said he doesn’t really display any behaviours whilst there other than some anxieties. Argh so difficult isn’t it.

Sas1410 · 28/03/2023 18:46

@Mummytolittleones92 it is but don't be put off by what the school says, it's common for Asd kids to present differently at home thats his safe space and a place where he feels able to unload. If school don't refer you can self refer through your GP x

Sas1410 · 29/03/2023 09:22

Hi all my scan date was 30.12.22 I've just called at 9am and been told my little one was awarded yesterday, I'm in Liverpool if this helps anyone. Good luck all xx

AprilFools2015 · 29/03/2023 09:38

Just to say our tyke (aged nearly 8, diagnosed ASD & ADHD on 1st Nov) received DLA payment for him today.

Its been backdated (I asked them to a while back as we're on UC since low income jobs). Posted via recorded delivery on 28th Dec 2022, so exactly 3 months for a decision. The evidence we sent was the form & copy of his report from ND team (which finally came through a few days before sent the form), we got school staff (two of his teachers) to complete their bit of form & sign; plus we said on form about his ND team & his play therapy (which I'm afraid he had because he was likely sexually assaulted by a staff member at his nursery when he was 3 years old, Covid delayed the therapy).

Now waiting for the letter re: what his actually award is & for how long. We got one text from DLA bout 2 weeks ago saying processing, no need to call.

Fingers X all for positive outcomes.

Robertah94 · 30/03/2023 08:24

Hi, I’m waiting to hear for my sons DLA renewal. They received 5th jan. Letter stayed up to 12 weeks for a decision. Not heard anything since and 12 weeks in, anyone else heard back for around that time? Not sure whether to ring them up.

my sons due to run out on 24th April. So starting to get stressed out. Ha

Snickerdoodles19 · 30/03/2023 09:06

@Robertah94 you will probably be waiting right up until the current claim ends, mine was renewed 3 days before it was due to end, a lot of people aren’t getting theirs done until the day it ends.

OP posts:
Brown2010 · 30/03/2023 09:09

@Robertah94 mine ends tomorrow.. currently waiting to get through to see if the renewal has been done yet 😫

Brown2010 · 30/03/2023 09:35

Just got through not even with dm yet xx

Seher955 · 30/03/2023 10:05

Hi everyone, I applied for dla 29th December it was recieved on the 5th Jan for my DD who has moderate autism, ive recieved 2 letters and 1 text to say they are still waiting to look at the claim, i was told on my 1st letter i got that it would be 11 weeks it has now been 12, I rang them yesterday took an hour to get through to them for them to tell me its now 15 week waiting time and that her claim isn't even with a DM yet. I work 10 hours a week as a single mum with 2 children one of which is autistic and I claim UC, my advisor told me to change my circumstances for my claim for UC, because I am still caring for my DD even though shes not in reciept of DLA yet, so I did, and they got back to me saying they can't find carers allowance on my claim, so I said well no because I'm still waiting to hear back from DLA etc... and now because pf that they have put me on weekly apps in the JC instead of fortnightly even though I'm working and I am still having to care for my DD and my other child and whats worse is i csnt take my DD to the JC with me because she absolutely hates new places gets very anxious etc and i tell them this all the time yet they dont listen they book times for after school! And i work between 11 and 1 each day i dont drive and tbh there's just not enough hours in a day, but they dont care, im just finding it all so overwhelming and things just don't seem to be going anywhere everything seems to get getting worse. Hoping to hear something back soon
