@Hayhoarematthews yes he got hrc last time aswell, you just need to write it all down about his care needs and include as much info as you can, it’s a horrible process and I feel for you! Is this your first renewal?

Hayhoarematthews · 17/03/2023 19:34

Yh instarted writing lots down like you told me to last month ready for it, but need to go over it all, I think I repeated myself in different parts as some of it I wasn't sure if the information I wrote down was what they was wanting yes my first renewal for daughter never thought it even apply for it untill her bladder an bowel nurse told me to after dealing with her needs and problems for 3 years previously

Snickerdoodles19 · 17/03/2023 19:44

@Hayhoarematthews just make sure what your saying matches with what any professionals have said so there isn’t conflicting information, it doesn’t matter about repeating the same things as your trying to get the information across, if you feel it’s relevant for them to know write it down

I've received the letter to confirm they received my claim. It had to be there 21st of Feb and the are saying it arrived there 22nd. Gutted!!

Jay53 · 21/03/2023 13:53

They did this with me also. I sent my letter 1st of jan. Had to be there the next week latest. When I received the letter the date was 20th Jan.
I received another letter dated 8th March to say sorry it's taking so long.

Dawnie0709 · 22/03/2023 10:20

Following, I had a letter to say they received the form on 5th January, his current claim ends 9th May.

lovepets · 22/03/2023 10:24

@Brown2010 because it ends today so they have either given me my payment a week earlier because they haven’t renewed it or it’s still with the dm and no decision has been made so they can’t carry on the award x

Sorry, I don't know how to tag properly. Is there a possibility that they have increased your award, so that the money paid in your account today is the excess, then they will pay the increased amount from next week? Just a thought

lovepets · 22/03/2023 10:26

Just seen your message, congratulations. I know how hard it is waiting, and the relief when the award is renewed

Mumof3wonderfullySEN · 22/03/2023 14:51

Received a second text yesterday ‘We are still looking at your DLA1 Child claim. When a decision is made we will confirm it in writing. There is no need to contact us about it.’

Any body else get one?

Brown2010 · 22/03/2023 15:13

@lovepets i think that happened to @Snickerdoodles19 she got given her payment on the end date and then I think she rang up on day of end claim and got awarded 3 days before due to end a higher rate.
i bet they haven’t looked at your claim yet, have you called up to find out? X

MrsA15 · 23/03/2023 09:50

I received this text also! My documents were received 22/12/22 and still waiting!!

RosieLemonadeAndSugar · 23/03/2023 09:59

Sorry, I've just commented on an older thread without realising there was a newer one.

I sent off my child DLA form end of Feb, I read somewhere I should get a letter or text just to confirm they have received it, is that correct? It's been roughly 3 weeks since I sent it off.

ToughMum · 23/03/2023 10:01

@RosieLemonadeAndSugar yes you should receive a letter. Ring them to make sure they have got it. Ad can get lost sometimes unless you did recorded delivery and signed for.

I didn't, I never thought to do that. I did make a copy of it though so worst case scenario I can just send it off again.

I will give them a call later today and check they have received it. Thanks

Snickerdoodles19 · 23/03/2023 10:09

@RosieLemonadeAndSugar hi, when I sent my sons in November it took 7 weeks to get here

MrsA15 · 23/03/2023 10:15

I’ve been on the phone today (13 weeks exactly) she told me to wait another 2-3 weeks! I’m so anxious about it all and the wait is awful 🤦🏼‍♀️ hopefully it’ll be good news and I sent enough information!
I hope everyone hears good news soon also!!

Hello,

My son has been awarded DLA this week and I have requested through UC for the back dated payment. I have been told it has gone to a decision maker, but does anyone know how long this will take roughly?

Hey! I had my DLA decision on 28th Feb, notified UC the same day, was told on the 7th March it had gone to a decision maker, it took until 16th for a response in which they decided special circumstances apply and I’m owed the backdated money. I’m still waiting on a calculation and the money to be paid. Hope this is helpful..

Caseymayy · 23/03/2023 12:09

@Amylou7
Hey,

Thanks for the reply! My son was awarded March 14th and it was sent to a decision maker on the 15th but we haven’t heard anything yet. I was assuming it would take a good few weeks anyway

MygirlGrace · 23/03/2023 14:35

Hi All,
Mine is a change of circumstances. Daughter has been receiving LRCare for 3 years I put in COC for mobility and she has been awarded LRMobilty. her Lower care stayed the same. Awarded till 2024 September. Mine took 24 weeks and was only with the DM for a day. Good luck to those still waiting x

I think you might be right, I called UC yesterday and the advisor said that it could still be a few more weeks.. absolute nightmare

Caseymayy · 23/03/2023 14:45

@Amylou7
That’s also annoying that they’ve told you you’re owed but not given the amount or a date of payment. Normally they are on the ball with that, well I know my case worker usually is.

AprilShowers223 · 25/03/2023 20:29

I got this letter too - scan date 19/01…do you know how long after this letter we hear anything?

Jay53 · 26/03/2023 09:32

My letter was the same date. I had a letter on 8th March which says sorry it's taking so long. I was told it is taking upto 15 weeks at the moment.

readingisgreat · 26/03/2023 09:51

My son's DLA finishes on Tuesday, but they have still not looked at his the claim despite the fact they received it in September

readingisgreat · 26/03/2023 09:52

DWP are the worst!!! If they do not make a decision, my carers allowance will also stop :(
