maybe i am shallow but my ambition is to be a yummy mummy!!

since day 1 i have showered and washed hair then blowed dried it and had make up on from day 1 too.

thankfully was back in jeans in 3 weeks though still trying to work out how to lose mummy tummy - am same weight as before pg but tummy looser.

wear jeans and high heels every day unless i am going for long walk then change to MBTs. always wear outfit i wouldnt be embarrassed inif someone calls to visit.

go to mother and baby group, baby swimming and baby massage. have lunch once a week with mummy friends and sometimes coffee on other days too.

finally drive an X5 though had that since before i got pg.

anyone beat that??

I even brush my teeth every day, and have so twice a day since giving birth to DS1 9 years ago.

With an electric toothbrush.

And I floss.

annabella, there is nothing wrong with wanting to look good and taking pride in your appearance and being groomed, that's not what you're getting slated for, it the whole bragging thing that is just so booorrring. It doesn't have to be a competition.

cherryredretrochick · 12/01/2008 22:27

IYCKYH I was a 34G, don't know what I am yet, measure 34d but still really swollen. Also like to point out again I am so bloody yummy (I must be I just ate loads of choc),

oh I agree expat, nothing like a spot of strenuous activity with the DCs. And all the fresh air does wonders.

MummyAnnabella · 12/01/2008 22:30

okay have looked at original post and see how people have taken it the wrong way -- it was meant to be a bit of fun and i cant believe people have got so nasty!! it was never a seious competition but i really do think there are a lot of people with their own issues to overreact so much!!

As a former climber and now a walker, OMDB, my motto is from Henry David Thoreau:
'Heaven is under our feet as well as in the skies above us.'

MA, this is fun, I would advise you name change before posting anything sreious on here though.

expatinscotland · 12/01/2008 22:32

boasting's not funny, tho, Annabella.

c'mon, you knew that.

and if you were tongue in cheek, it would have come out in the post.

be for real.

c'mon, there are some really clever women here.

PeachesMcLean · 12/01/2008 22:33

How do you have a glamorous job working with people from disadvantaged backgrounds? How does that work?

expatinscotland · 12/01/2008 22:34

UCM, is that you?

FWIW, I do take pride in wearing fleece and ripstop nylon trousers and walking boots!

Because this is who I am. I love the country life, I love the outdoor life, I love to walk and I'd love to go back to climbing.

I do wear makeup, and I can scrub up well, thanks to being in good shape from the activities we enjoy as a family.

If others are happy doing something different, great!

If others think I look scruffy in my gear, I don't care.

I feel good underneath!

MrsJohnCusack · 12/01/2008 22:34

hahahahahahahah

with the use of the term 'underclass' you outed yourself as a winder upper

you were doing quite well up until then

cherry it was meant to be fun but i think you are right about changing my name - i had already thought of that!! i just wanted to have a laugh and some replies were funny but some just plain nasty. oh and most of them are bragging about something! eg "there are some really clever women on here" clearly thinks she is one!!

, MrsJohn.

'AmericanAngle', anyone?

PeachesMcLean · 12/01/2008 22:38

Milliec OMG you're Geri Halliwell as Unicef Ambassador.

Didn't MA say she had a glamorous job working with the underclasses?

Is she Lenny Henry?

onebatmother · 12/01/2008 22:39

I think most bats would say that I am pretty yummy. Ask your bat friends, I'm sure they will confirm.

Cheer up girls.

Desiderata · 12/01/2008 22:41

Oh, dear.

Now you see, Annabella (a name that rarely bodes well), you might be a troll, or a namechanger, or a journo, or just a plain eejit, and I don't care. I really don't.

But take a tip. Don't home-ed.

Rantmum · 12/01/2008 22:41

MummyAnnabella is right about one thing. This is the funniest thread I've read in an age.

Practically pissed myself all over my chanel and cracked my make-up.

Worried I may be joining an underclass of scummymummy so I am off to get my beauty sleep so that I can be the most beautiful... um I mean... best... yes that's right... Mummy of them all....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

LynetteScavo · 12/01/2008 22:41

MummyAnnabella, I tried to go along with the OP in the way in which it was intended. But you haven't shared any recipes with me.

You seem to be doing an OK job at being a yummy mummy - did you think people stopped wearing make-up and showereing when they gave birth? , but you still have a long way to go.

Are you having amazing post baby sex? Because you really should be.

When you have 3 DC's, and are able to get baby, toddler, and a very angry school refuser from your X5 into his classroom with your hair, make up and smile intact, you will know you can corgratualte yourself on achiving your yummy mummy goal.

onebatmother · 12/01/2008 22:43

HEEEEELOOOOOOO LYNETTE SCAVOO!

and double

MummyAnnabella · 12/01/2008 22:43

i am not american and certainly not geri halliwell!! but yes cheer up girls and dont take yourselves so seriously! i do not intend to home -ed what an awful thing to do in my opinion

cherryredretrochick · 12/01/2008 22:44

No no no you are all wrong - yummy mummy's don't drive their X5s to school anymore - it is very much NOT de-rigour. They float their babes to school emitting no carbin emmissions what-so-ever other than the sweet smell of very overpriced perfume.
