maybe i am shallow but my ambition is to be a yummy mummy!!

since day 1 i have showered and washed hair then blowed dried it and had make up on from day 1 too.

thankfully was back in jeans in 3 weeks though still trying to work out how to lose mummy tummy - am same weight as before pg but tummy looser.

wear jeans and high heels every day unless i am going for long walk then change to MBTs. always wear outfit i wouldnt be embarrassed inif someone calls to visit.

go to mother and baby group, baby swimming and baby massage. have lunch once a week with mummy friends and sometimes coffee on other days too.

finally drive an X5 though had that since before i got pg.

anyone beat that??

Or some good eyeliner, NAB!

I sugged the Urban Decay gel ones.

They were recommended here and I must say, they are the bee's knees when it comes to eyeliners.

I don't think she needs self esteem! Ok, maybe the term yummy mummy is a little naff, but whats wrong with looking nice? I think this thread has been taken a little too seriously! I think Annabellas tongue is in her cheek.

thing is you dont TRY to be a yummy mummy you are one or not. You have think about it so quite clearly your not. End of.

I just meant if she has to dress perfectly and wear make up every day she must be lacking in something.

Seems a tad over important when she has a small child.

Maidamess · 12/01/2008 22:13

I wear make up everyday AND I like looking nice. Ok, I don't bang on about it, but I don't feel I'm lacking in anything.

Beetroot · 12/01/2008 22:13

I thing the term YUMMTYMUMMY ius very offensive

rich mummy with nothing to do.

expatinscotland · 12/01/2008 22:13

mmmm, prawns.

i could murder some king prawns right about now.

ooooo, for the prawns of my Gulf Coast youth!

how i took them for granted.

i wear makeup everyday, except when going for a hike.

because my skin is blotchy and uneven.

MummyAnnabella · 12/01/2008 22:13

i think you can be a yummy mummy and work and will return to my career either full time or 4 days a week. i do not have pots of money but do have a successful career and can certainly add 2 and 2 together. yummy mummies do not have to be stupid.

I knew it would be taken wrong! I just meant why does she have to go on about it?

LynetteScavo · 12/01/2008 22:15

well said prawnsmum

IfYouCanKeepYourHead · 12/01/2008 22:15

I've just re-red OP and TBH I think mummytwatybell you are merely an hygienic mummy. Your biggest claim appears to be that you shower EVERY DAY (since day 1 so god know what you were doing before that). Congrats.

expatinscotland · 12/01/2008 22:16

Well, FWIW, there are loads of people on here who can 'beat that', I've had the priviledge of meeting a few myself.

But none are interested in 'beating' others.

They're interested in more interesting things.

cherryredretrochick · 12/01/2008 22:17

I bet I have the pertest boobs. i am so yummy, i have no car and no money and no time but i feel yummy so I must be. (the boobs have been reduced courtesy of the NHS)

Maidamess · 12/01/2008 22:18

Coo, get you and your perky boobs

Quattrocento · 12/01/2008 22:18

I knew you were an imposter. It is absolutely impossible to be a yummy mummy and work.

Any kind of work.

The yummies I know all have armies of cleaners and nannies and aupairs and in two cases a housekeeper.

They spend their lives doing some enthusiastic preening, moderately enthusiastic shopping and relatively unenthusiastic sex.

MummyAnnabella · 12/01/2008 22:19

again thanks maid you have totally got where i am coming from. why do you have to be lacking in something to want to look good?? and why is yummy mummy an offensive term - i always take it as a compliment.

can i ask millie why do you take pride in wearing "sloppy" and "fleecy" clothes. i really just dont understand why people are bragging about that?

Thank you Lynettescavo!

OracleInaCoracle · 12/01/2008 22:21

i only wear make up when going out (better for the skin to go barefaced than slather on clinique or whatever is product de jour) live if baggy jeans and a comfy constipation brown cardigan and never ever blow dry. as a result i dont need serums or expensive treatments/conditioners etc or to wear make up every day and when i do get dressed up ds looks at me in awe and says "whit woo, mummy's hot" he wouldnt do that if i did it every day!

LynetteScavo · 12/01/2008 22:21

I think you are confusing yourself with an alpha mum wanna be, mummyannabella.

Will you really have time to bake blueberry myffins each morning when you're working? And library visits? And mini music, and baby yoga? No, I'm afrid it'll be flash cards in the car, and someone else having the pleasure of your child's company during the day. ALPHA MUM!

IfYouCanKeepYourHead · 12/01/2008 22:22

NHS boob reduction...sooo . Can I ask what your measurements were? Wnat to reduce a 34E but was told they weren't big enough...

expatinscotland · 12/01/2008 22:23

anyone else singing the Boogie Beebies tune, 'I want to be fit, I want to be strong/Whadda we, whadda we, whadda we wanna be?/FIT, FIT, FIT!'

to me, yummy's about being fit.

even dd1 comes along with me. 'i love sporting'.

[blushes with pride!]
