Thread 175 - will we never shut up?! Pull up a chair and have a good whinge about domestic tedium and annoyingly fictional HBFs... (once we've finished the other thread).

It's 23 degrees here. Would love to be out in the garden, but have rather a lot of work to catch up on, so am sat inside at the computer <sighs>

Washing is at least on the line & dinner already prepped. Well, it's defrosting. It is something home cooked & healthy though, to make up for almost 4 weeks of rather too many ready meals and the occasional fish & chips.

Afternoon. Thanks for the new thread Helen. Grin at MrHelen finally noticing your hair after six days.

Well the weather finally arrived, it’s been mostly sunny and I spent a couple of hours in the garden. Hope it lasts a bit longer.

It has warmed up this afternoon - a bit of sunshine, but just generally warm. The new washing pole is up and concreted in (should I take bets on how many cat pawprints will be on the concrete tomorrow?). It's a metal one so this one had better not rot through Grin Some garden stuff has been done, and we've been prepping dinner too - everything (apple/raspberry/plum) crumble for pudding.

Evening wenches. Thanks for new thread Helen (I read that as <burps chaise> - I’m blaming the Pimms)

What industrious wenches you are.

Visited parents and wished Mother a happy birthday. Did the ironing, put away enough laundry for several weeks, watched the gymnastics, read, had a bath.

Going to have dinner and watch the first episode of the new series of Ghosts.

Morning wenches.

Monday? No thank you, rather not actually.

Ghosts was excellent. Going to pace ourselves with it I think and not binge watch.

Suppose I’d better get on with doing the things.

Morning all. Cloudy here and daaaaaaaaaaark when the alarm woke me up.

Idiot Kitty is an idiot. It's like having a toddler at times. Yesterday he made very piteous noises/scratched at the door if I tried to shut him out of the bathroom, jumped onto my lap when I was in there, and then once I was in the bath he decided that he needed hop up and walk round the edge of the bath Confused fortunately he didn't fall in the bath - I suspect I'd have been shredded in his attempts to get out.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Evening. The internet’s playing up so I don’t know if this will post. <sigh>

Another lovely day although a bit more cloudy than yesterday. At least the washing dried.

I have a vision of IdiotKitty falling into the bath and thrashing about while Helen desperately tries to get out. Glad that didn’t happen.

Happy belated birthday to LetUsMum.

Evening wenches.

Not even 7pm and it’s daaaarrrrkkkk. And the clocks go back soon. Dooooommmmmm.

LetUsCat used to do the walking around the bath when I was in it, only when he was a youngster though. Didn’t bother with it as he got older. Probably quite sensible.

Should try and do a bit more knitting tonight as the projects I want to start are building up and some are for Christmas/early December.

Evening wenches. Why are DCs so disorganised??? He's just produced a prospectus for a new local college that I knew nothing about... the open evening was tonight. He got it from school last Wednesday. FFS child!

That's mostly it - work, disorganised child, and being a taxi. Weather has been very pleasant today though.

Morning wenches.

Don’t know if I mentioned a couple of weeks ago DS2 telling me there’s a parents evening tomorrow - I think they’ll phone you. No phone call came. A week later I was helping him with some college stuff and there were the details of the meeting. On the day he said, in college, to go in and meet the tutors and chat about the course and how it’s going type thing.

I’ve risked putting a wash out and hope the forecast of no rain is correct.

Afternoon all. Today I have mostly been busy and productive with work. Though it's been more like fire-fighting and trouble-shooting and I haven't actually started on what I was planning to do.

Oh well. There was a definite autumn chill this morning when I went out; it looks lovely outside now, though I've no idea what the temperature is. KillerKitty spent breakfast time on the patio trying to catch a (rather stupid) mouse. I know it was a bit stupid (or traumatised) because I was able to catch it in a box easily and put it out of harm's way in the woodpile. IdiotKitty then carried on looking for it, even though I literally rescued it in front of him. <le eye roll>

Afternoon. Cloudy all day, but it was quite warm. It does go cold in the mornings and evenings though, so I suppose we need to think about putting the heating on.

I've been mostly doing a bit of gardening as it's bins tomorrow and knitting.

We've been watching Unbelievable on Netflix, very good.

Evening wenches.

The risk with the washing paid off although I did have to ask DS2 to bring it in as it had started raining at work. Not only did he bring it in, but it was really (mostly) nicely folded. It seems a bit daft to be proud of him for folding it so well, but I am Smile

Loving more Tales of Idiot/KillerKitty!

Also knitting here Apricot. I’ve so many projects need finishing off and then a few planned, so last night I was on YouTube watching a “this is a dead easy crochet project” with one half of my brain going “I could have a go at that as soon as possible” and the other shouting “NO WHAT ARE YOU THINKING STOP IT”.

Daaaaaaaaaaark. I need to start going for lunchtime walks since the daylight's pretty much gone by the time I finish work.

I see crafty video things too LetUs, but no part of my brain thinks that I have time to do any of them. Sad Hurrah for DS and the washing though.

Daaark and raaaaiinnnn. Urgh. Rubbish night’s sleep again and now I have the wibbly wobblies. I’m sure they’ll fade a bit once I get going. Short day too and I’m out tonight being cultural with BestFriend so I’ve got that to look forward to.

Stay inside wenches. I’m sure you can find something to do to keep your hands occupied.

Morning. The advantage of it being dark when I get up is that at least I get to see a bit of sunrise - it was delicately pretty this morning - pinky purply. (I can't think of any other advantages though.)

I am running late (quelle surprise). <cwtch> for LetUs
<locks wibbly wobblies in cwtch cupboard with lots of blankets>
<get out large dose of confidence and optimism>
<watches 'large dose' shrivel and vanish in the daylight>
<replaces vanished 'large dose with HBFs>

Have a good day all - cultural or otherwise.

Afternoon. Rain and more rain. I had a shocking night too, it’s getting to be the norm now.

Well done to DS2 LetUs, good to get them trained early. I think I failed miserably. Hmm Ooooo, crochet. I haven’t done any for ages. I remember doing a mini dress for myself in the sixties. Hope the wibbly wobblies have buggered off.

Have a good evening all.

Evening wenches.

The wibbly wobblies did indeed bugger off, helped in no small part <nae> by a fantastic evening of culture in NearbyBigCity at a literary event where I also met Natalie Haynes and got a couple of books signed. We had a (very) brief chat and BestFriend reliably informs me I didn’t make a prat of myself which is always a possibility Grin

I bet you’d still look all kinds of fabulous in a crochet dress Apricot.

Evening. We've had another open evening, and then came home and were completely baffled by watched the first episode of Series 2 Loki.

Glad you had fun LetUs and that Fancy got some intelligent conversation. I had a nice little fist-pump moment at work today when someone suggested asking me something because I 'usually know what's going on with these projects' Grin I am competent!!! I may print out that email and frame it. Grin

I’m impressed with you getting intelligent conversation at work Fancy. Not something I’m generally used to (although perhaps other people look at me and think hmmm)

”I am competent” - high praise indeed Helen!

Running a bit late here and it’s foggy. Brrrr.
