Morning wenches. Misty<nto> outside and cold - not 'I need a coat to do the chickens' cold, but definitely on the colder side of cool. The sky is silvery gold where the sun is, but it's all mist.

If anyone wants to go apple bobbing tonight, come on over. The water is draining from higher ground fast than it is from the lower ground, and the windfalls are now floating in the water at the bottom of the garden, which is into the chicken's run now. <le squelch>

Killer kitty has spent a lot of time this morning being cross at the pots that are sheltering a mouse (or I presume that's what it is) and prowling around trying to find it from different sides. He has given up now.

DH’s car went into the garage this morning. He phoned me to collect him and then remembered that his golf clubs and trolley are in my tiny boot and passenger seat. I couldn’t get them out so he had to sit squashed in the car with the trolley on top of him. I also had to leave DGS here on his own (it’s half term) but he was alright about it.

That’s a bit unreasonable of the BT workers Helen, hope you’re not affected by it.

I talk to myself too LetUs and then someone comes into the room and I wonder what they’ve heard.

I cooked a turkey in the oven today and it actually turned out quite well. It helps if the oven isn't too small, like it was about 10 years ago when I last tried it

Absolutely loving the cat countries.

Spent most of yesterday feeling odd as I swapped my days this week & was at work. Was out at a clients - lovely people, not so lovely traffic getting there. Back in the office today & off tomorrow, am out at a comedy gig with FancyMan in the evening.

Was feeling very smug at actually changing the clock on the cooker until I realised that I still haven't done the clock in my car. Or for that matter, the cuckoo clock - that one's a pain to change <sighs>

Evening. No more rain today, but more forecast for the rest of the week. La la la - fingers in ears, life jackets on.

I have got too much work, and have faffed about not doing enough of it today. FMFaffing about.

Evening wenches, comedy gig was very good last night & was in NextDoorTown so very easy to get to.

All fine here thanks letus - it's very wet, but I think the winds mercifully blew themselves out before getting to us, so it was blustery but not too dramatic. Plenty of puddly roads, but fortunately, being on a hill (the clue's in the name ) houses seem mostly ok.

Evening all. Absolute LOL at the piglet in boots - do you think they do them for chickens too? Intelligent Cat was outraged by the state of the garden today - yowled very loudly at me about how was she supposed to do the toilet thing with the ground that wet.

Word on the (flooded) street is that if we get through the next 24 hours then the water should start receding. Hopefully. Next door were sandbagging their house today - they're about a foot lower than us.

Glad to hear that other wenches are mostly unaffected.

Morning all. No rain atm - hurrah. I have waded along the flooded road (20cm to splosh through at it's highest) and measured the (still rising) water at the bottom on the garden. I've explained the theory of evolution to the chickens, but I don't think they're going to evolve webbed feet in time to make use of them.

Work calls - spreadsheets and budget to balance. Whoop.

Work was quite busy but is done for the week. I’d like to get ready for bed but I have to go and collect DS2 from SportingActivity.

In bad news, my winter slippers, which are a year old, are dying - the rubber soles have gone all brittle and useless. Poop.
