Thread 175 - will we never shut up?! Pull up a chair and have a good whinge about domestic tedium and annoyingly fictional HBFs... (once we've finished the other thread).

Poor Misty, what a cat-astrophe Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/03/2024 20:33

Evening all.

Prom suit didn't happen because DS was a stroppy git. Though he did apologise, and it means that DH gets to do the prom suit shopping. I did have a nice walk with Fancy and hopefully she's got home now despite the best efforts of the weather etc.

FFS at work LetUs and <arf> at Misty not getting her 18 hours of sleep (I'd settle for 8)

Also, this. Grin
Night all. Batten down the hatches, it's windy out there!

Morning wenches.

Grin Wicked.

I think I’ve read that book many many times Helen. Good luck to MrHelen. Or will it be “all sorted I don’t know what the fuss was about”?

Today will be laundry.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/03/2024 11:01

Morning. Today has been laundry (still in the machine though - unless it's about to start beeping at me to be hung up, because it knows I've just sat down) and helping to set up for village event. And a bit of pruning in the garden. I've earned a sit down now Grin

Prom suit status from MrH is "There's no rush is there?" Hmm No, there's not. But there will be if that's the reaction every time I try to sort it out. FFS, <le sigh> etc etc.

Afternoon. Fab mini-meet with Helen, always good to see faf from the list and the gig was better than had been expected given it is not what the faf is known for 😂. Also fab to see new chickens and IdiotKitten and of course Family Helen.

Last bit of the journey back was shite - stranded a few stops from home so had to get an Uber and fill it with fellow sufferers to share the cost. FFS. At least Chonk and Floof were pleased to see me.

Aw Misty! Hope she is rested now

Laundry letus? Are you in the only dry bit if the country?!

ApricotCrush · 29/03/2024 17:07

Afternoon. Sunshine and very heavy showers again. We all went into nearby big town but on the train this time because DGS wanted to. We managed to dodge the rain.

Grin WW. Misty has been able to catch up on some of her sleep today.

Glad that you enjoyed your visit Fancy, but annoying about the journey back.

LetUsPrey · 29/03/2024 20:08

Evening wenches.

It was sunny this morning and then I swear the instant the washing machine beeped to say it was done the sun went away and within 30 minutes it was raining. We’ve had similar to Apricot, sunshine and heavy showers the rest of the day.

What a pain in the arse re that last part of the journey Fancy but how lovely that Chonk and Floof were pleased to see you (and why would they not?)

The thing is, MrHelen, there’s no rush now but even suits sell out especially getting closer to prom time, and also getting to wedding (guest) season.

Watching TOTP 1983. At least I was but DH just came in and said “are we watching something” because apparently he can’t watch tv on his own.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/03/2024 22:32

Evening all. We had a few raindrops, but no rain here, so the washing dried on the line Shock though I did also hang some indoors because it got to the 'are you cold, or are you damp?' stage.

After my productive start to the day, I ran out of energy and flomped on my bed with idiot kitty for a little snooze this afternoon, until idiot kitty switched to kill mode, so I shoved him off the bed. Now I'm going to go to bed and do more snoozing...

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 30/03/2024 09:06

Morning wenches.

Not surprised you were snoozy Helen. You have been rather busy.

Sunshine here and I’m quite excited at the prospect of getting some washing on the line. Meeting BestFriend this morning and then usual Saturday ahead.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/03/2024 11:25

Morning all. I have snoozed most of the morning away, though <side-eyes> at old deaf shouty intelligent cat, who jumped off the bed, and then, because 1) she has to be lifted up onto the bed now, and 2) she's deaf, woke me up with deafening yowling to be lifted back up.

No sun here, but it's not a wet howling gale outside either, so I'll take that. Hope everyone has a lovely day.

ApricotCrush · 30/03/2024 16:41

Afternoon. Still sunshine and showers, but we think the wind is slightly less cold. Hmm

We went to the local gift shop earlier for DGS to waste spend his Easter money. He’s not bothered about eggs.

Hope everyone’s had a good day.

LetUsPrey · 30/03/2024 20:00

Evening wenches.

Three loads dried on the line today. Three!! This is very exciting to me

Been out with DH tonight for a meal which was delicious so the button on my jeans has been popped and I’d like a snooze now.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/03/2024 20:41

Three loads! Awesome! I did none. Though I did get out into the garden this afternoon and hacked back pruned a rampaging rambling rose, before it gets even more out of control. Not much wind here so it was quite pleasant outside. Mind you, I say that, but I was out on my bike as well and there always seems to be more wind the second you're on a bike.

Hope DGS enjoys his Easter tat Apricot Easter Grin

LetUsPrey · 31/03/2024 07:59

Morning wenches.

Gardening and a bike ride is very energetic Helen.

It’s sunny again today. It’ll be pretty much a usual Sunday for us with the addition of DS1 and his girlfriend coming round for tea. I finished one small knitting project, going to make myself finish another before I start anything else. Honest.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 31/03/2024 09:12

Morning all. It's dull here, but not cold. Today's plans involve more gardening (I expect) and a family get-together for cake and chocolate.
The cats have gifted me a bloodstain and a pool of bile this morning - I hope everyone else has a better start to the day!
May the Bunny be good to you Easter Grin

ApricotCrush · 31/03/2024 18:48

Evening wenches. Nice day here with sunny intervals and no rain but still very windy. DH and DGS attempted the sea, but only got in as far as their waists. No way I was even putting a foot in, far too cold. Hmm

Well done with the knitting LetUs.

Eeeeek at the ‘present’ left for you Helen. 🤢

Enjoy the various family get togethers.

LetUsPrey · 31/03/2024 21:01

Evening wenches.

You should have words with the cats Helen about the true meaning of Easter Grin

The sea? In March? Totally with you on that one Apricot.

Nice to see DS1 and his girlfriend. Tired now though.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 31/03/2024 22:24

Evening. Nice morning (weather-wise), but not very nice this afternoon, ending up with rain this evening. Chocolate and cake has been eaten, no-one has been daft enough to step foot in the sea Shock
DS is currently playing guitar. Loudly. I will probably go to bed.

Morning wenches.

Too much food and chocolate here as borne out by the scales this morning.

No firm plans today other than LovelyMIL coming for tea.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/04/2024 08:59

Morning. Today's plans include taxi-ing DS to a meet-up with friends, and looking after an illing chicken. And being rained on. <side-eyes spring 'showers'>

Also, idiot kitty is boooooooooooooooooorrrrrred!!!!!!!!

ApricotCrush · 01/04/2024 17:16

Afternoon. Cloudy and windy here but no rain.

We seem to have bought a new caravan, well, not a new one but more up to date than this one which is 20 years old and beginning to get a bit tatty and in danger of collapsing. I’m in two minds about it as I love this one and am averse to change. DD is thrilled as the new one is bigger and does have a gorgeous kitchen. We’ll have to come down next month to do the changeover. I’ve no idea how that will work. Hmm

Hope the poorly chicken is alright. Sad

I’m aware that we need a new thread, but don’t have any HBF pics with me.

LetUsPrey · 01/04/2024 20:48

Evening wenches.

Hope poorly chicken is feeling better.

Totally relate to being change averse Apricot. However, it will all be wonderful and fine.

I’ve finished the knitted blanket squares, just needs constructing and the possible addition of a crochet border. Because what could possibly go wrong with that?

LovelyMIL has been for tea. We watched some Hudson and Rex which she says she’s seen before because, she said, she loves the dog in it. And then she said that Hudson’s very nice too Grin

I realise we need a new thread but there has been vodka and I’m also tired.

FancyFancy · 01/04/2024 21:03

Evening

Exciting about the new caravan apricot, I expect it'll feel more homely once Misty has visited 😊

😁 MIL is wench letus

Oh no, which chicken is that Helen?

Am back home again, Chonk and Floof have been sweet and judging by lack of appetite, have been well fed by my lovely neighbours. Was good to see DDad - first time for DC since his stroke, so that was nice for all of them.
