Swagger Inn thread 165 - wenches get --locked-- down with the HBFs (ylt)

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/05/2020 11:33

Lockdown rolls on, so we're staying in and isolating with the FAF. Grin
The bar is stocked, the floor has been mopped, the tables have been wiped, and the HBFs are however you want them Grin

(We're also doing lots of washing and gardening.)

Lovely new thread helen thank you - I'll have my hbfs naked and dipped in biscuit spread I think.....

LetUsPrey · 03/05/2020 12:11

Excellent new thread Helen.

Fancy it’s only my calves they’ve not to massage but everything else is up for grabs Grin

Evening. Thank you for the new thread Helen.

Very dull and depressing here, not much done.

We've started watching The Nest with Martin Compston. Interesting plot and well acted. Will continue with it tonight.

LetUsPrey · 03/05/2020 18:39

Evening wenches.

Thanks for the Wine Wicked.

Same here Apricot. Dull, not much done except for washing. Couldn’t even be arsed to do the ironing. Do seem to be having a mix of up and down days. Today’s been a bit of both really. NiceColleague watched The Nest - said it was very good.

I’ve got Father Brown on.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/05/2020 20:07

Evening.

We're watching Taskmaster Grin Weather has been quite warm, but mostly cloudy. I've spent the afternoon digging and I need to head for a long hot session bath tonight with Athos.

Evening
I've been in the garden for most of the afternoon - have to say my back is now a bit stiff. Compost bin is partially filled. Am hoping tomorrow is a little warmer and will give the temperature a kick start - I am officially impatient Grin

LetUsPrey · 03/05/2020 21:54

I feel I could give Athos a run in the grump stakes. DH and DS2 have been messing about and having a bit of a laugh. This though at the moment translates to me as pissing about and pissing me off.

I look forward to daily compost updates Grin

I shall take a leaf from Helen’s book and go for a bath and then have a look round on the bar for a grip.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/05/2020 23:54

Grips are good - I'd recommend getting a form grip on the HBF of your choice though. I've had my bath and came down to turn off the laptop - at which point Inconvenient Cat hauled himself off the chair he's been sleeping on all night and lumped down next to me on the sofa, purring and rolling over to get him tummy rubbed. Ridiculous animal.

LetUsPrey · 04/05/2020 08:25

Morning wenches.

Plenty of grip getting opportunities there.

Awwww at InconvenientCat Smile

Lovely and sunny here. DS2 will have DH and DS1 with him today. Let’s see how much schoolwork gets organised when it comes in and how much is done. To be fair, it’s not because DH will be sat around all day (he won’t, he’ll be busy and doing stuff) but I could do without it when I get home. Oh look, I still found something to whinge about.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/05/2020 08:41

Morning all.

Good luck with work LetUs. I need to get DS organised and get going with work-from-home. Though Inconvenient Cat is doing a re-run of last night. Awww.

I also still haven't found a new home for the crocosmia Hmm

FancyFancy · 04/05/2020 11:47

Aw at Inconvenient Cat - he is a charmer.

Fingers crossed the homework is getting done letus - I have to say that mood/motivation levels are rather up & down for me too, it all feels a little monotonous & I'm sure being menopausal isn't helping me either!

Lockdown highlights of the day : walk later with FancyMan, supermarket (because I messed up on Saturday & left it too late to go) and checking the temperature on the bin. Oh and in a further measure of how dull my life is - a colleague is dropping some files off this afternoon for me to review later in the week - it's my day off and this is additional work, but I will be pleased to see a different face for a change Grin

ApricotCrush · 04/05/2020 17:57

Afternoon. Nicer day here, more sun, but still a bit chilly.

DH has toothache. He has a crown that has broken and was due to have it repaired but of course it was cancelled. He's on the paracetamol and salt rinses treatment. I'm also nursing a swollen gum that I've had for months and was due for a deep clean but also cancelled. I do worry that no-one is getting dental care, but what can you do? Sad

Hope you enjoyed your walk Fancy and that homework was done at LetUses.

Awww at InconvenientCat.

LetUsPrey · 04/05/2020 21:10

Evening wenches. Oh Apricot Sad I’m crossing everything for you and MrApricot that your teeth and gums settle down quickly.

DS2 did indeed do his schoolwork which I’d said to get DH to help with. DS2 told DH he didn’t need help. He’s not read the instructions and has done it completely wrong. Poor sod. I’ve got permission at work to take DS2 with me on the days he’d be on his own if necessary so at least he can get plenty of schoolwork done.

Hope the walk was enjoyable Fancy

Menopausal crap definitely isn’t helping.

oh yes, that is pretty.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/05/2020 22:48

Evening.

Oh Dooooooooooooooooooooom Sad poorly teeth and misunderstood schoolwork and lack of motivation.

My exciting event today was doing the shopping. Other than that it's been work, and helping DF and cooking. How's the compost doing Fancy?

I should really head for the hayloft.

Athos likes your suggestion Helen

FancyFancy · 04/05/2020 23:54

Sad apricot - the lack of dental services really is a worry, I hope things improve for you both.

Wine letus sounds like you need it. If you've already gone to bed, it'll be ready for you in the morning Grin

Walk was lovely thank you - we were very well behaved, so no need to be brushed down. Compost update for helen - 30 degrees centigrade, probably would've been higher but I put more rubbish in this morning & the temp dropped for a bit after that.

LetUsPrey · 05/05/2020 08:08

Morning wenches.

Loving Compost Update!

I’m sending dental pain free thoughts to both Apricot and MrApricot.

Better get a move on.

FancyFancy · 05/05/2020 10:08

Morning
God I'm knackered this morning - all the walking, gardening & spring cleaning over my long weekend has left me feeling rather stiff & feeble! Please send Dr Aramis for a therapeutic massage.

But.......46 degrees Shock

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/05/2020 10:45

Morning

Grin at wine on cereal. So will miniLetUs be accompanying you to work to do his schoolwork correctly? It's so frustrating when they refuse help and turns out they've done it wrong. Sad

We all slept in today, which was nice but also means that DS will probably be a pain at bedtime. Ho hey hum.

Dr Aramis is all set and ready to go for anyone needing his skills

Afternoon. Lovely day, I've been sitting in the garden watching the robin family. There appear to be two chicks. Cute.

My gum isn't painful, just red and swollen, the dentist said it's a low grade infection. I just don't want it to get any worse. DH is coping at the moment.

Very interesting re the compost Fancy. How hot does it have to get?

Oh poor DS2 LetUs, he hates his homework as it is, without having to do it again. Sad Great that you can take him to work with you though.

LetUsPrey · 05/05/2020 19:09

Evening wenches.

DS2 did super at the office today —and it saved me fretting about him like an idiot even though he would have been fine alone—. Got two quite tricky pieces of work done and his maths. Over to DH tomorrow. I’m going to stress that when he redoes the stuff he did wrong that DH supervises. It was such a shame that that happened.

I reckon Aramis has got more than enough skills to assist both me and Fancy.

I have everything crossed that your gum either stays the way it is or preferably gets better Apricot, and that MrApricot’s dental issues get better. It’s just another added stress and worry though.

Squeeee at little robin family!

I’m watching The Joy of Painting on BBC4. It’s this chap called Bob Ross and his easel and canvas and paints. I think it’s from the 70s/80s and I’m sure I can remember watching it back in the day. It’s very restful.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/05/2020 22:04

Evening. Um.

TCP - gargle with diluted TCP Apricot - I swear by it for any mouth infections #BrokenRecord Grin But then I've never had much luck with salt water gargles.

Well done to MiniLetUs - fingers crossed for MrLetUs doing the supervision correctly (never mind MiniLetUs doing the work correctly too!)

Awww at the baby robins. I haven't seen any baby birds yet this year - though I know that some doves have hatched their eggs, and there's a wagtail nesting nearby and giving me very suspicious looks when I get to close Grin Also, we have some sheldrakes taking up residence in a field on my bike route, and today a peacock stalked across the road in front of me Hmm Shock Noisy sod... hope it's not moving in.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 05/05/2020 22:18

I know very little about which birds are which, especially what they sound like. Obviously I know what a peacock is and what that sounds like Grin. There’s a bird here that sounds like a squeaky wall, and there’s one I hear at work that sounds like it’s doing a jolly little laugh —at me—

I’ve been yawning for about an hour now and I should really head to the hayloft.
