Lockdown rolls on, so we're staying in and isolating with the FAF.
The bar is stocked, the floor has been mopped, the tables have been wiped, and the HBFs are however you want them

(We're also doing lots of washing and gardening.)

Why wasn't it this nice on my day off?

Cat bed provider is indeed a vital role helen - this morning I also had to be cat-soother as ScaredyCat must have encountered another cat. There was a noise that sounded suspiciously like she fell off something/made a hash of jumping on something, followed by a yowl. When found she was on a wall, staring into next door's garden with perpendicular fur. Such drama before 9am

Oh god - we had that late last night - a screechy/yowly noise and then a rattle of the cat flap as Inconvenient Cat came in. I have no idea if the screech was him (I suspect it might be since he was the one who then came in), but he was supremely unbothered by the kerfuffle he caused - DS came downstairs to find out what was going on, we were peering out of the window with torches to see if we could spot Intruder Cat, and then DS fell against a cactus.... Cue much tweezering and complaining about his itchy/sore hand and arm - poor sod. Which reminds me - I have to move the bloody thing somewhere inaccessible to make sure that doesn't happen again.

Ouch, poor DS, that sounds painful.

Today's work is taking rather longer than expected.......

Afternoon. Still cool here. DH has been pruning the tree he fell out of a couple of years ago.

I wish the golf club would open again... oh wait, it is open tomorrow. Yaaay! Unfortunately he can't persuade anyone to play. It's the perfect sport for social distancing, but they're all scared the virus will carry on the wind, although none of them have been in contact with anyone for the past 7 weeks.

Evening. I have mostly had a paperwork day, and I am so bloody ready to just fall into bed (preferably with a HBF) and forget about it.

Glad to hear that MrA has survived pruning the tree, and hope that Fancy's work has stopped now. Also that LetUs has had a better day than yesterday's fuck-up recovery zone and that Wicked isn't still scaring herself with horror films. (I just saw a 'Midsomer Musketeers' series on AO3, which made me smile. Though I didn't bother reading because it's all slash and I just can't be bothered.)

Must confess I don’t miss the yowling part of cat ownership. I am imagining ScaredyCat very much like a cartoon cat with the perpendicular fur.

It actually started raining when I was pegging out the washing this morning but decided it wouldn’t last. Apparently dreaming of your car being stolen is a sign that you feel lack motivation. Me? Gosh no

School have been fab with organisation and support for students. Here’s hoping MiniHelen’s school gets the information sending sorted. Hope both MiniHelen’s arm and the cactus are recovering.

Work was busy, not helped by one of the sodding programs I was using crashing three times. There may have been swearing.

I don’t really understand golf. Is it just a preference to play with chums or can you not play a round on your own? LittleSis is thrilled that golf is available again as it’ll stop her DP’s “bloody whinging” about it

I thought you could play golf by yourself, you just don't have anyone to beat. You can still play though?

One of my favourite lines on that sort of subject is a (fictional) conversation where someone announced that dreaming about flying is really about sex, at which point someone asks what it means when you dream about sex

Helen it probably just means I’m worried my car will get nicked. It said you feel you lack drive and motivation and you drive your car so obviously it’s true. Hang on, just need to check my horoscope.

Perhaps all wenches could have sex dreams with relevant HBFs and then we can decide what that means. I suspect it will mean we would wake up with a smile and have something happy to think of for quite a while

FFS - see what you did LetUs - I had massive anxiety dreams about my car being stolen - or at least, I got out of it with the keys, walked away from it, and then I couldn't find it again - was walking up and down the street trying to bleep it with the key fob in case it had changed colour and I didn't recognise it. It was a new car too. There was also a solar eclipse, and DS left a holiday activity on his own and turned up elsewhere without anyone being able to explain how he got there. Bloody exhausting and not at all restful.

My Ranking is 1 & 3 being equally unlikely, and 2 being utterly unbelievable; we have very hazy sun and no washing out.

Can I go back to bed yet? (Without the bloody dreams.)

Sadly work finished very late, was reviewing a file and I found quite a few things that needed improving. And then needed to add a bit about COVID-19 - all accounts have to mention it and we have to document our opinion on whether we agree with what is being said.
Anyhow, it got done just in time to go to bed, now to start another day.

Afternoon. Where does the day go? I don't seem to be getting anything done just lately.

Yes, you can play golf on your own, but it's all about the banter and camaraderie, even only being able to play with one other person isn't really appealing to them, but better than nothing.

I often dream of losing my car and trecking round miles of unfamiliar roads looking for it. It's all very stressful. It once really happened to us in Spain wih a hire car. Took us about an hour and a half to find it.

Of the three things I listed this morning, the HBFs were the likeliest thing to happen. Fucksake there’s some whingy folk who don’t listen or who just don’t want to listen. Oh and people who are trying to flog something, perhaps have up to date information about the firm before you call because if you ask for Terry (not a real person) and claim you’ve been having conversations/emailing recently with him, you’re going to look a bit daft when I tell you that Terry left about five years ago.

I definitely think MrApricot should golf solo so —Apricot can get some time alone— he’ll get even better and will be able to beat his friends when they do all get to play together.

Long and rather boring day at work, including a 2 hour team meeting. I turned my camera off and did other work/mooched on twitter, and was generally thoroughly unprofessional. Not that anyone noticed.

at snow wicked - it's been sunny here, but cold. My bike ride was not an unalloyed joy.

It wasn’t that LetUsCat didn’t like the vet or the cattery, he didn’t like going in his carrier, even though it was bloody huge, and he would then express his displeasure at whoever he saw first when he was released. He also on more than one occasion expressed his displeasure through the sides of the carrier all over me or the car.

I was going to have a long soak in the bath, but I seem to be on the sofa being a cat bed still Our cats will quite happily nap at us if they're allowed up on the bed.

DS2 has ticked off that he’s done his reading this morning which is highly unlikely a) he’s not been downstairs for long enough and b) his book is still in his bag from yesterday. Doesn’t bother me particularly if he’s not done it, but don’t lie and say you have. Not a big deal but hey ho. Or ho hey.

Going to try to call at a supermarket on my way to work. Oooo its all go here! Anywench want anything? If you recall, they were sadly lacking in HBFs.

Biscuit spread LetUs - not that I want any but you can buy loads and say that some's for me if that helps? I also have to go to the supermarket, but they don't sell biscuit spread. And I have to pick up a new exercise book for DS. And... I'm sure there was something else. Oh well...

We all slept in this morning until about 8:15 which was nice, except that DS is being foul now because he hates sleeping in (he'd rather be wake and playing on the x-box). So I've gone on strike and he's come downstairs to continue being stroppy at me because I have't made his breakfast for him and it's a school day. I pointed out that he'll have to make it himself while he talks to me in that tone of voice. FFS at children.
