Swagger Inn thread 165 - wenches get --locked-- down with the HBFs (ylt)

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/05/2020 11:33

Lockdown rolls on, so we're staying in and isolating with the FAF. Grin
The bar is stocked, the floor has been mopped, the tables have been wiped, and the HBFs are however you want them Grin

(We're also doing lots of washing and gardening.)

Morning all. It has rained, the cats are asleep, the chickens are fed. DH is snoring. Oh!!! I had a dream with FAF! Not overly exciting - I got invited for tea Hmm But still - FAF! In a dream!

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/07/2020 08:57

Oh - morning LetUs Grin I think we may have your weather from yesterday...

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 19/07/2020 11:19

Morning - yay for faf dream!

More gardening here today - well this afternoon when the weather is drier. And when FancyMan arrives Grin He's very obliging - helping me put up a garden structure in return for lunch.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 19/07/2020 11:25

I mean, I have nothing against screaming children and partying neighbours, if there's some distance between us, like if they live in the next village or something Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/07/2020 14:12

Is is a new shed/shag-pad for privacy when DC are about? Wink

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 19/07/2020 14:18

Oooo tea with FAF! Would definitely have led to something else.

Grin Wicked

So you and FancyMan will be dealing with an erection in your garden? Sorry, I blame it on too many Carry On films in my youth.

Run done this morning. Tried a new route as the field where I normally go would be too wet. Won’t be doing it again - far too many hilly bits. DH told me when I got back that some of his fellow gym goers call the route I went “cardiac way”.

Went to see parents and washing is out.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/07/2020 16:13

We have also been dealing with erections in the garden- new fence for the chicken's run.

Eek at 'Cardiac Way' - DS is stropping at being told to go on a bike ride "I did one yesterday!!!" (No, he didn't) "I'm playing with my friends!!!" Hmm FFS. etc.

Evening wenches. We're back. It's been a nice day today, so we got a bit of sun.

More dentistry trouble. DH had a crown drop out yesterday. Shock We'll have to see what the situation is at the dentist tomorrow. I also need advice on my 'low-grade infection' which I've had since December hasn't gone away and has now spread to its neighbour. Sad

Will go and RTFT.

LetUsPrey · 19/07/2020 21:24

Pleased you got some sun today Apricot, but oh no Sad for dental troubles. 🤞🏻you get something positive from the dentist.

Feeling a bit meh which wasn’t helped by loud DC re football and DH attempting to mediate between them but also shouting because he was pissed off with them. I went out.

Think I’ll have an early night.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/07/2020 22:57

My DIY filling stuff from Boots says it's a temporary replacement for crowns, or for sticking them back on. Or something. It's not terribly effective so far Sad

DH is back to streaming football on his tablet when he's cooking. It's beyond tedious and doesn't encourage me to help him in the kitchen of an evening.

Tonight I'm requesting that my subconscious keeps the FAF, removes the FAF's OH and moves us from from chat to slightly more physical activities I will probably dream about missing an exam and not being able to find my room at Uni Hmm

FancyFancy · 20/07/2020 00:10

There is indeed a fine erection in the garden Grin

Not a shag pad though helen, although should provide some screening.....

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/07/2020 08:44

Morning. Lovely and sunny here. Sadly, I've had about 6 hours sleep after going to bed far too late again (watching a Sue Barker documentary about John McEnroe this time) and then DH kept me awake by knocking stuff over in the bathroom, reading late and sniffing a lot. I may have got a teensy bit snappy with him at 1:30.

Hurrah for screening Fancy Grin You'll want to add some nice thick rhododendron bushes as well? Wink

Last night's dream was, as predicted, FAFless. And all about being on holiday and trying to find some ski boots (and simultaneously being stuck at school at the end of term, waiting to be picked up). Hmm

LetUsPrey · 20/07/2020 09:21

Morning wenches.

Sunny here today, although seems quite breezy.

I have no suggestions for plants, but I’m sure it will look lovely!

Saw that one the other week Helen, was excellent. I think you did well to only be a teensy bit snippy at MrHelen.

I was dreaming at one point that I was buying a goodbye card for a castle near where we go on holiday. No FAF here either.

Will go for a walk today and will try —in vain— to get DS2 to come with me.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/07/2020 10:10

We bribe DS into walks by including a magnum... which probably negates most of the health aspects of walking, but it gets him out of the house and moving...

It's clouding over here. Sad

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 20/07/2020 10:25

Tried the bribery - there’s an ice cream van at the park. Nothing doing.

Gone cloudy here too.

FancyFancy · 20/07/2020 12:18

Afternoon.
How are all the tooth problems today?

I will be needing some new plants for screening - the 'gaps' either side are not that large so rhododendrons are probably not needed!

ApricotCrush · 20/07/2020 16:34

Afternoon. Nice day here, lots of washing done.

I've been doing some more sewing today. My machine is a temperamental old bugger bit like its owner and I've often wondered how old it is. I always used my mum's treadle machine when I was at home, and when I got married I bought a second-hand manual Singer which had been converted into an electric. So I looked up the serial number and Shock Shock it was made in 1921. It's nearly antique. I don't suppose today's machines will still be working in a hundred years.

DH phoned the dentist. They're going to come back to us. Hmm

Shame about the house WW, but I don't blame you.

Hurah for FAF dream Helen. It's a start.

Sadly it wasn't white chocolate LetUs. Hope you've managed to sort work out.

Grin at Fancy's garden erection.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/07/2020 21:46

Evening all.

I have had a day of not very much. Watched the last NT Live play which was good, but not as good as some of the others I saw.

Fingers crossed your dentist is more helpful than mine was Apricot My sewing machine is from 1972 - not quite as old as yours! I finished making masks today, and started on the mending pile. There is something very satisfying about mending stuff.

Had a decent bike ride today - hope you got out on your walk LetUs.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/07/2020 22:08

oooh, clear sky just now - we might have a chance of seeing the comet tonight...

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 20/07/2020 22:39

Still nothing to suggest re plants. I have lots of other suggestions though Grin

Shock at your sewing machine Apricot! I know my mum has a Singer but I think it only goes back to the late 50s.

Not sure of sky and comet situation here. Can’t be bothered to move to look though.

I did go for a walk —and had an ice cream— but came home sooner than I’d planned as the park and the paths through the woods were very busy, which is understandable but I do wish groups of people wouldn’t just spread themselves out across the width of the path whilst walking. God I’m such an intolerant grump.

Heard back from work. No update. They don’t know when they’ll need me back so the —hopefully— irrational part of my brain is making me feel rather dispensable.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/07/2020 23:44

Just been out looking at the comet Shock Star It's a bit awesome with binoculars. Grin

Work will be fine LetUs - they probably just decided that it ws too much paperwork to furlough and unfurlough you both, and it happened to be your turn being furloughed when they decided not to rotate the pair of you. It does suck for NiceColleague though (apart from the fact she gets full pay, not 80%)

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/07/2020 09:08

Morning, Lovely and sunny again today - hurrah.

I need to get on with supervising the dregs of school work and stuff...

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 21/07/2020 09:13

Morning wenches.

Comet sounds like it was quite the spectacle. Glad you got to see it.

Thanks for the pep talk re work. It does help —although there are days where part of my brain would disagree—

Exercisething today. Also going to see if fancy schmancy Vanish product lives up to the hype and sorts out the chocolate stain on a vest top (that another product didn’t shift and actually made things worse) and deodorant/antiperspirant stains on some t shirts and blouses (sexy). I know - the excitement.

Hope dental issues are settling/not worsening.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/07/2020 10:25

OMG - vanish is just amazing for shifting stains - admittedly I've left things soaking for long than they're meant to, but it's revived clothes that I thought were ruined. Fingers crossed that it works for you.

I've just been to check my dental issue and actually, though I can feel the cavity again, there is still some filling stuff it in, so I'll leave well alone for now I think.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 21/07/2020 11:14

Exercisething done.

Good(?) news re tooth Helen

Clothes are soaking. Is it wrong that I’m quite excited about doing the laundry?

In unexpected roof news, work starts tomorrow!
