Alrighty then! New rules for Haiku. I will have a go at this, I hope that I will find more great ones when I wake up!
Birth:

Pushing, Reeling, Clutching
Baby in my arms
She is smiling

October:

Pumpkins, apples, and cinnamon
The wind is up
leaves turn brown and crisp

Sunchowder, don't want to be picky but haikus stick to a strict pattern of syllables - 5-7-5.

Please try again and report back later

Janstar · 03/10/2003 08:43

writing a haiku
is not the simple matter
that most people think.

Loneliness drowns her -
adjusting to motherhood.
Then she finds Mumsnet.

Janstar · 03/10/2003 08:48

Good morning campers!
What have you planned for today?
Nappies, snot, loving.

Janstar · 03/10/2003 08:54

Childminders, playgroups,
babysitters, creches, friends,
save us from madness.

Janstar · 03/10/2003 08:57

A new three-piece suite?
What colour had you in mind?

  • Biscuit streaked snot-green.
Janstar · 03/10/2003 08:58

A good mother's time
is not spent as a servant,
but as a teacher.

bobsmum · 03/10/2003 09:31

Janstar, you have much
Time on your hands today, love.
Back in the kitchen!

Janstar · 03/10/2003 09:39

Bobsmum, the tone of
you haiku makes me suspect
that you are a man.

bobsmum · 03/10/2003 09:52

Chewing razorblades
would be preferable to
wearing a willy

winnie1 · 03/10/2003 10:11

Lol Bobsmum!

Janstar · 03/10/2003 10:47

Bobsmum - I dried up after your last riposte

But I will be back ! In the meantime I obeyed your instructions and visited my kitchen but it didn't bring me any joy. I made a cup of hot chocolate and got out of there fast!

Naked son playing
Happy and adorable
Whence comes the poo smell?

JJ · 03/10/2003 11:03

Potty training, no.
But old enough to disrobe.
Where is my duct tape?

Great stuff - I especially like yours, Bron. I wonder what Sunchowder will think of this? It will be morning soon over there so maybe she will log on soon.
