Hi, hope your Jogglers have arrived safely. Once you've had the chance to get them set up and had a play, please can you post your feedback to these questions from O2:

  1. Did you find it easy to set up?
  1. What worked best for you?
  1. Would you recommend it to a friend?
  1. Do you think it's good value for money
  1. Would you like to see any additions?
  1. How would you use it to organise your family life?
  1. Anything else you'd like to add?

And the latest on the webchats is that they'll now take place between 1-2pm (not 7pm) on Weds 10 June and Weds 1 July on www.mum-e.co.uk, but as usual if you can't make it on the day you can leave your questions/feedback in advance and the Joggler team will answer them/respond between 1-2pm.

We'll post the urls of the chats as soon as we have them.

Happy Joggling,

MNHQ

I haven't done anything with the Joggler itself yet but I do have complaints about the O2 calendar... It's not flexible enough - I have events that repeat every 2, 3 or 4 weeks for example and I can't do that without putting it in on each occasion. I want to be able to change the name I gave it. The help information is a pile of poo.

One complaint about the Joggler itself is that I have nowhere to put it. I kind of assumed it would be able to be hung on a wall. I've no idea where I'm going to put it when I manage to get a router it will work with. I can't think of anywhere it won't get knocked or have something spilt on it. TBH, I'd quite like it to be magnetic so it sticks on my fridge I'd settle for wall hung though.

LupusinaLlamasuit · 29/05/2009 23:04

Oh, a fridge magnet one would be genius

But the stoooopid power cable would bugger up the mess aesthetic even more.

Yes: wall mountable option please

MerlinsBeard · 29/05/2009 23:06

does it need to be plugged in all the time?

SoupDragon · 29/05/2009 23:10

I had "planned" to stick it to the side (next to my magnetic dry-wipe planner ) so the cable would be less obtrusive. [sigh] But the stand doesn't come off.

KingCanuteIAm · 29/05/2009 23:10

Yes it does MOM.

BreevandercampLGJ · 29/05/2009 23:13

Yes it needs to be plugged in.

A back up battery would be nice, if only to move from the kitchen to the garden room, when cross referencing with DH.

LupusinaLlamasuit · 29/05/2009 23:23

But I'm sure I read somewhere 'if you need to move it just unplug it and do so'

If it is wirelessly updated, surely it will just refresh data as necessary? Or does it have some residual charge?

BecauseImWorthIt · 29/05/2009 23:26

you can unplug it, because I've already done that - but if you wanted to unplug it and take it into another room to show someone else, the only way you could do this would be to plug it in in the second room - and then it has to re-set itself. It doesn't take that long, but it would be helpful if it had a battery option so that you didn't need to go through that.

KingCanuteIAm · 29/05/2009 23:27

You can unplug it and move it, as soon as you plug it back in it continues as normal, just takes a moment to reboot.

I don't really understand why it doesn't have rechargable batteries in it so it could work for a while unpluged. It seems like a silly thing to leave out. I kow it wuld need plugging in for the digital photo frame and things but it could work happily on recharagable for long enough to udate it and so on.

BreevandercampLGJ · 29/05/2009 23:27

Yes you can plug it in in another room, but once you unplug it it no longer functions, it stores the data but that is it.

Would it be very wrong of me to prise the stand off the back with a screwdriver and stick the Joggler to my fridge with magnets & duck tape? Bearing in mind it doesn't work at all at the moment because I can't connect it to my router (well, not and MN as well)

LupusinaLlamasuit · 29/05/2009 23:44

Right, found summat else though doubtless you have all said this already.

Don't much like the fact in the calendar you can't just look at an individual day easily. If you're in 'month' view, clicking on a particular day brings up an 'add event' screen (unless I'm missing something).

This is me comparing with Palm Desktop, in which you have a day, week, month view, but clicking on a day within the week or month view brings up that whole day to review appointments.

The reason this is important is there are occasions when I don't just want a reminder on the day, or an hour before etc. I want to plan ahead and see what the 25th July looks like overall and how much time there is for x, y or z.

The only way I have found to pull up a whole day in the future is to keep clicking on the scroll buttons and going through day by day. This will be a major PITA.

Or am I missing something?

LupusinaLlamasuit · 29/05/2009 23:46

Right. Am taking it to bed now. Let's face it, it's the only kind of 'poking' that will be going on in this house this weekend.

Boco · 29/05/2009 23:47

Oh soup what are you going to do about that? About the ethernet problem?
Does anyone else have an emac? I'm not sure what router / wireless modem, will work with my emac.

KingCanuteIAm · 29/05/2009 23:52

I do think it would be easier to use if it had a stylus, unless it is just my fingers that are too fat and dumpy>

Lupus, when I click on a day from the month section it brings up that day in the Day format, then I have to click Add Event to add an event. What is happeneing for you? Is it on all days or ones with/without events already added?
