Hi, hope your Jogglers have arrived safely. Once you've had the chance to get them set up and had a play, please can you post your feedback to these questions from O2:

  1. Did you find it easy to set up?
  1. What worked best for you?
  1. Would you recommend it to a friend?
  1. Do you think it's good value for money
  1. Would you like to see any additions?
  1. How would you use it to organise your family life?
  1. Anything else you'd like to add?

And the latest on the webchats is that they'll now take place between 1-2pm (not 7pm) on Weds 10 June and Weds 1 July on www.mum-e.co.uk, but as usual if you can't make it on the day you can leave your questions/feedback in advance and the Joggler team will answer them/respond between 1-2pm.

We'll post the urls of the chats as soon as we have them.

Happy Joggling,

MNHQ

That is what I get MOM, no info just a flag and a number, with no key, no detail... perhaps we are missing something?

MrsWeasley · 30/05/2009 12:43

I get the same with the traffic but as I dont drive I didnt really take much notice of it!

Also DH says he cant read the calendar without his reading glasses! (dh is turning into an old man ) I said as long as he inputs his details on the pc then the rest of us would know what his plans are, so that should be fine!

I would like to be able to put it on the wall, like a picture. That way it wont get knocked or things put on top of it! (alternative is I could do more housework )

Ok these are my first impressions so far

  1. Did you find it easy to set up?
Yes, very, no problems at all, although I did get a bit scared when it took a while to start up!
  1. What worked best for you?
The Calendar is great and I added Dh when he was at work and he was then able to add a appointment online. It will be fab for this as he will be able to see which days he needs to book holiday or can do overtime without having to write it all down before leaving home.
  1. Would you recommend it to a friend?
Yes although I think you get more out of it if you are on O2
  1. Do you think it's good value for money
er, not sure yet. Although It was brilliant value for me as it was free!
  1. Would you like to see any additions?
I would like to be able to set an alarm on the Joggler itself to remind myself of an event. You can only get a text message as a reminder ATM. I am so disorganised busy that I need it to shout at me to remind me that I have children who need picking up, dropping off, feeding etc!

Also it would be good if you could add itunes music but this may be a copyright problem rather than a technical one.

  1. How would you use it to organise your family life?

The calendar is going to be REALLY useful

  1. Anything else you'd like to add?
I haven't used the photo section yet but I will be putting some in soon.

I have set my old phone up to be on O2 now and have actually been quite impressed with the signal strength and freebies so far.
However it cost me £20 to unlock it from Orange and Orange told me I'd have to wait 15days for an unlock code and then Dh did it for free online.

I actually like the way the power cord plugs into the back rather that on an edge, but no real reason for liking it other that I'm a bit anal and it seems nice and symetrical!

Agree with other posters that its annoying that in order to reschedule an event you can't just change the date and you need to delete it and then enter it again.

It would also be great for it to be able to store names and addreses to link to events like Birthdays.

And there needs to be more games and more special theme backgrounds as I like to mess about with this sort of completely useless feature.

BONKERZ · 30/05/2009 15:25

have decided its worth investing in a cheap £20 phone for DH from O2 site, that way he can use the alerts which would be very useful for him!

MerlinsBeard · 30/05/2009 17:19

I don't like the music player very much. I sometimes want to play an album by an artist which i can't see how to do - also, it loses all your disc info except the title

gigglinggoblin · 30/05/2009 17:45
  1. Did you find it easy to set up?

Yes and no. It was simple enough and as a techno idiot I could have done it if we had a normal wireless connection. However because we have some clever security thing going on with our wireleess router it couldnt find it and dh had to go stamping off to find some long code to put in (this is the bit where I got lost) - he said you should be able to input the name of the wireless network you are looking for. Not sure if he has managed to hide the router again and stay connected, he said it might lose it when it is hidden again and he wouldnt be willing to compromise our internet security for it.

  1. What worked best for you?

It works with linux woohoo! So we can access stuff on our computers including music and stuff we have recorded off tv, meaning we now have a dvd player in out kitchen. Brill

  1. Would you recommend it to a friend?

Probably not, sorry. Unless I find a load of other stuff I am currently unaware of.

  1. Do you think it's good value for money

So far there is little I have found that my mobile doesnt do (apart from the music and recorded tv shows) so its not really worth the price tag imo.

  1. Would you like to see any additions?

Internet browser would be nice! Thats probably the single biggest thing that would make me buy one. Dh says friends of his have similar products with browsers so it cant be impossible. Also let us set an alarm for an event, I am not on O2 so cant get the texts which makes it a bit pointless. I agree with everyone who said it should be wall mountable. Oh and a battery pack. Why have wireless internet if you still need a trailing wire for power?

  1. How would you use it to organise your family life?

Not sure it wil help us organise anything tbh. The calendar on my mobile allows me to set an alarm which the joggler does not.

  1. Anything else you'd like to add?

As the biggest selling point is the calendar I dont understand why you allow people to access this feature for free online. I know the other bits are nice too but the ads are all about the calendar and you dont have to spend £150 to go to the O2 website and get that feature for nothing. As I have broadband and my computer is on all the time its no problem to log on and use it.

I would have missed half the stuff it can do if dh wasnt a techie. The instructions are really basic and dont tell you much about what it can do. Speaking as a techno idiot I do need these things spelling out! Dh thinks it is brill apart from thee lack of web browsre and battery pack so that is high praise!

lou031205 · 30/05/2009 18:04

Another thing is that if you set an event to repeat for say, 10 weeks, but want to make a change to one of those weeks, it changes/deletes the whole lot. Annoying.

BreevandercampLGJ · 30/05/2009 18:07

NB

If you put an event in the wrong day, you can via the website just drag it to the correct date.

Or at least I am sure I did it last night, it was late and I did have a glass of wine in hand.

So if there is anyone around can someone please check and see if I am correct or whether I am losing my marbles.

I would but DH has just fired up the quattro the Barbie.

BONKERZ · 30/05/2009 18:10

LGJ yes you can!

whoops · 30/05/2009 20:33

I think it would be useful to be able to have a couple of reminders sent too! Ie if you need to get organised in advance to buy presents or something and also for on the day

LupusinaLlamasuit · 30/05/2009 20:38

Right, haven't read all the posts yet but some more thoughts:

Text very small for old gimmers : have a magnify function?

I worked out the calendar view day function - I think I pressed summat wrong

Music sound is HORRIBLE. Sorry. But really tinny. Will improve if you do develop speakers no doubt.

Can't seem to put in an event for next year? Anyone? Not very helpful if that is the case...

Don't like having to scroll through month by month either. Or is this just me being stupid again?

I quite like the idea that it is a bit bloke-oriented. I think this is encouraging DH and DS1 to get involved in it.

I assume the little traffic flags indicated minutes' delay but I haven't looked at the manual/help.

BreevandercampLGJ · 30/05/2009 20:40

Traffic flags are the speeds being attained in that area.

MrsWeasley · 30/05/2009 20:40

I'm actually quite glad it doesnt have an internet browser because that would delay me because I would be tempted to check mumsnet surf for important information.

LupusinaLlamasuit · 30/05/2009 20:41

PS I hate the cabling and power adapter even more now it is set up in the kitchen. There's nowhere to wind the cable up if you don't need it all (and I don't want cable draped all over my worktops) so even close to a plug socket it looks awful. I don't know what the solution is but it is such a letdown with a well-designed gadget.

BreevandercampLGJ · 30/05/2009 20:45

NB

Can't seem to put in an event for next year? Anyone? Not very helpful if that is the case...

Go to the box that says repeat event.

Click it.

Make it yearly, then click on 10 years and change it.

HTH

LupusinaLlamasuit · 30/05/2009 20:47

Ah, thanks. Will give that a try.

I never read the manual/help

BreevandercampLGJ · 30/05/2009 20:52

I did. It were shoite, pure trial and error.

MrsWeasley · 30/05/2009 20:55

I put next years events on the PC and it seemed easy enough.

BecauseImWorthIt · 30/05/2009 20:57

What are all these appointments for years to come that you all have?! All I have is my mammogram to look forward to!

LupusinaLlamasuit · 30/05/2009 21:02

Nothing so complex: I wanted to put DS' birthday on there, which he has already had this year, so wanted to add it for 2010!

LupusinaLlamasuit · 30/05/2009 21:04

Although actually thinking about it, if I do manage to synch somehow with work calendar, I will have lots of next year things to book in...

whoops · 30/05/2009 21:35

I think an option for ongoing for the recurring events would be good as well as being able to choose how many weeks to recur it for

MrsWeasley · 30/05/2009 22:01

When I add an event on the actual Joggler I cant set a time on it I can if I enter it on the PC but not on the Joggler! Andy ideas what am I doing wrong?

whoops · 30/05/2009 22:20

I would like to be able to choose a date to enter info in too rather than having to scroll through the months to get to a date
