Hi, hope your Jogglers have arrived safely. Once you've had the chance to get them set up and had a play, please can you post your feedback to these questions from O2:

  1. Did you find it easy to set up?
  1. What worked best for you?
  1. Would you recommend it to a friend?
  1. Do you think it's good value for money
  1. Would you like to see any additions?
  1. How would you use it to organise your family life?
  1. Anything else you'd like to add?

And the latest on the webchats is that they'll now take place between 1-2pm (not 7pm) on Weds 10 June and Weds 1 July on www.mum-e.co.uk, but as usual if you can't make it on the day you can leave your questions/feedback in advance and the Joggler team will answer them/respond between 1-2pm.

We'll post the urls of the chats as soon as we have them.

Happy Joggling,

MNHQ

Well only been playing on it for few hours so here is my first impressions. (disclaimer....subject to change! LOL)

  1. Did you find it easy to set up?
VERY, infact i was surprised how easy it was including uploading photos and music!
  1. What worked best for you?
the music option is fab. havent tried adding to the calendar on the joggler yet but calendar is very easy via internet!
  1. Would you recommend it to a friend? YES, i can see it really becoming useful! Am now looking at getting DH a phone on O2 as i can see him benefitting the most from the alerts!
  1. Do you think it's good value for money
well as i got it for FREE then i would say yes! I think £150 for it is ok but only if memory was expanded and more apps.
  1. Would you like to see any additions?
would like to see option of expanding memory maybe by adding SD cards. Also maybe rechargable battery so it can be moved around more freely.
  1. How would you use it to organise your family life?
Dhs work hours can be pre loaded, The alerts will be brill for birthdays and respite care etc and also for doc appointments.
  1. Anything else you'd like to add?
would be good to have an option to edit photos so you can turn them as most of my photos are wrong way on the screen, also maybe option to shrink or enlarge etc would be good. Cannot wait for more games too!!!!! The radio will be fab once its sorted as have no way of listening to radio except in car!
MrsWeasley · 29/05/2009 19:57

the sim card they sent is fab in itself. if I top it up with £10 a month I get 300 texts to use in a month!

KingCanuteIAm · 29/05/2009 19:58

MrsW, I think if you top up 15 you get either 500 or unlimited. It is the PAYG I use!

MrsWeasley · 29/05/2009 20:02

WOW its great I think my DD would benefit from the free texts.

Only trouble is where I am the O2 signal strength is very bad, so will need to look into it further. Still good though as DD is rarely here anyway

BreevandercampLGJ · 29/05/2009 20:04

Ok in Photos, what are the crossing over arrows and the circle for ?

Please and thank you.

BreevandercampLGJ · 29/05/2009 20:06

I think the circle with the arrow is the direction, off to play.

lou031205 · 29/05/2009 20:06

Glad you are sorted, Bree

KingCanuteIAm · 29/05/2009 20:10

Dd has just played for half an hour and then said "Mummy, why do we have the coolest thing in the world?"

BreevandercampLGJ · 29/05/2009 20:14

Sorted on the updates to Mobile, those symbols still have me foxed.

BecauseImWorthIt · 29/05/2009 20:15

lou - thanks for trying to help - sorry you typed all that out only to discover I was on anyway!

Will have a play with the calendar later on.

Boco · 29/05/2009 20:26

Well having got totally confused, it seems I have the wrong kind of modem, a USB one, so joggler won't work with it, and will have to buy a wireless thingy, for £30. So am disappointed so far that I hadn't realised the modem was the wrong sort and can't use it.

It may come as some suprise to some places in Ireland being listed as UK cities.

Dublin

Cork

Birr

Kilkenny

are the ones I have found to date.

MrsWeasley · 29/05/2009 21:27

Bree: I think the circle arrow means it will keep showing the photos over and over again in the same order but the crossing arrows means it will show them in a random order but you have to press the play button to see the results. Test it on yours and let me know if you agree

BreevandercampLGJ · 29/05/2009 21:37

Go to the top of the class.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 29/05/2009 21:47

erk

that's all I'm saying

LupusinaLlamasuit · 29/05/2009 22:13

Wahey!

The kids are in bed, DH is out with the boys, I am here with a glass of very chilled rose and a beautiful little gadgets.

Right. Have got it switched on, loaded calendar etc. That's it so far.

So...

  1. Yes, very easy. Very point and click (well, more 'poke' actually and one immediate observation is that my DH's big fat sausage fingers might struggle a bit with the smallish screen/letters. Not a lot you can do about this I imagine.

I'm going to be VERY critical in this test, so forgive me, but already I love it. It's a lovely looking, neat gadget, excellently designed EXCEPT...

...the power cable placement is SHITE. I hate the way it plugs in the middle back, getting in the way of the chrome stand (which is gorgeous). Since you've bothered making it all 'designy', this detail spoils it. I would retool if I were you and put it on one side on the bottom; or provide a nice little runnel for the wire to live in.

C'mon, these details are VERY important.

Other nitpicks (you should have known better than to invite a Chief Pedant) - 'Loose' instead of 'lose' on your calendar error message...

You really need to add a 'fortnightly' repeat option to the calendar menu. For example we have school pickup arrangements with friend and we alternate weeks. Rather than entering every date for the whole school year, a 'fortnightly' option would save me lots of time.

I am deeply offended the list of weather locations does not include my nearest city But I love the interactivity.

You will have to find a way of including MN on it somehow so we can all keep up while we're cooking.

LupusinaLlamasuit · 29/05/2009 22:16

Oooh, see MrsWeasley agrees about a 'fortnightly' option for repeat.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 29/05/2009 22:16

1 no took bloody ages, still wrestling with it now

will come back later

BoysAreLikeDogs · 29/05/2009 22:17

pssst lupus emailed you earlier

BoysAreLikeDogs · 29/05/2009 22:20

We live in the country, the nearest city is not listed

LupusinaLlamasuit · 29/05/2009 22:24

Should have read thread - you have ALL agreed about fornightly. And yes, the time menu on the calendar is a pain. Starting it at 8am would be much more sane, with a forward and back scroll option.

I have not loaded any media on there yet - this will be DH's job later so we can have lovely piccies and music. I do love the notion that it will be a gorgeous digital photo frame with a purpose.

Things I am interested to know though:

  1. Security of the data. I diligently read the terms and conditions on the O2 site and clearly lots of our domestic information will be 'harvested' for marketing purposes. I noted when I first registered, the graphics on the registration page interfered with the secure link. I am no techie genius but I would like reassurance about general data security and perhaps a bit more information about the level of detail you will be collecting.

As a consequence I have not used firstnames, nor will I give too much detail in the calendar for now...

  1. DH and I are longterm Palm users. The Palm calendar works extremely well, though I love the interactivity of this - perhaps DH will finally remember to enter his appointments so I can plan things...?

What I would REALLY hope for though is the kind of desktop/PDA/smartphone interaction I get with Palm. So - don't have a smartphone actually - but presumably it can be uploaded onto a handheld device? If not, it is madness and you must do it immediately!

Have not fully used the calendar yet but have to say some of the useability is a bit clunky compared to the software am used to: but will give it a good go before I pass judgement!

LupusinaLlamasuit · 29/05/2009 22:26

Will check but busy BALD, can't you tell I'm joggling

AND another thing...

I don't appear to have enough colours in the calendar that will pass muster with the many boys. They are all a bit too, um, girly for them. Need more blues.

Boco · 29/05/2009 22:28

Can anyone recommend a cheap but compatible modem?
