Hi, hope your Jogglers have arrived safely. Once you've had the chance to get them set up and had a play, please can you post your feedback to these questions from O2:

  1. Did you find it easy to set up?
  1. What worked best for you?
  1. Would you recommend it to a friend?
  1. Do you think it's good value for money
  1. Would you like to see any additions?
  1. How would you use it to organise your family life?
  1. Anything else you'd like to add?

And the latest on the webchats is that they'll now take place between 1-2pm (not 7pm) on Weds 10 June and Weds 1 July on www.mum-e.co.uk, but as usual if you can't make it on the day you can leave your questions/feedback in advance and the Joggler team will answer them/respond between 1-2pm.

We'll post the urls of the chats as soon as we have them.

Happy Joggling,

MNHQ

no no no KC I too have stupid fat sausage fingers

not that I am saying your fingers are stupid

BreevandercampLGJ · 30/05/2009 00:11

Lupus

If I go to mine on the Joggler.

I go

Calendar

Then choose month.

Then click on the day in question, for example July 22nd is a busy day for me, it has a tab and when you click on it, it lists all appointments.

HTH

Boco, I either need to fork our £40 for a wireless router (which has been on my to do list for a while), try to scam a free one from Virgin by claiming I'm defecting to Sky or buy an ethernet hub which will allow me to plug more than one cable into my existing router. Or possibly disconnect my PC from the internet in order to plug the Joggler in.

I can not answer your problem though.

One more complaint: Joggler is a crap name.

BreevandercampLGJ · 30/05/2009 00:19

Actually I like Joggler, good play on what we all do every day which is Juggle.

KingCanuteIAm · 30/05/2009 00:48

BALD, stupid would not be oo far from the truth, I mean, have you seen how terribly my fingers spell?

Boco, can you get a cheap expansion thingumy (that is not the technical name) that plugs into you single network port and provides two ports, like a piggy back watsit? (It is fasr too late for technical stuff)

The name makes me smile - but I do feel silly talking about it to people IRL!

I have a complaint, the Sudoku does not have a "hint" function [pout]
Perhaps it is not just my fingers that are stupid?

BONKERZ · 30/05/2009 00:57

does it cost when the joggler texts your phone and also does it cost to update your calender via text????

KingCanuteIAm · 30/05/2009 01:09

I thought I saw that it cost your standard network rate, if you use your free sim then you would get free texts. However I have just checked the O2 site and it says it is free to receive text alerts.

It could be it is free to receive from the online one and SNR from the joggler... or they could all be free...

The help files are a bit pants really aren't they

IroningBored · 30/05/2009 01:19

Haven't got a Joggler, but have looked at one in shop for 5 mins and at Soupys one sitting in the box waiting for her to plug in.

Here's my view - nice size, very sexy BUT

Should have wall mountable option

Should have flexible home screen to remove unwanted icons

Should be less male orientated, how many mothers need to check TrafficMaster regularly?

Likewise how many mothers need access to Sky Sport updates?

Needs access icon to read only access on BBC Food section, MN and other sites of choice (If the Joggler has the ability to read the O2 calendar over the internet it has the capability to view other sites but the functionality has been disabled)

Screen saver photos ... why? Should be backdrop photos with user selected icons down one side.

If O2 is pushing the calendar functionality, the calendar should be on a par with Outlook calendar functionality - unfortunately it is sadly lacking in many areas - a few already covered in other posts, but too many to mention.

Sending text reminders is fab for notifications to 3rd parties, but I like to be able to see my calendar whilst I am out and arranging anew appointments.

So, do I have to pay for data downloads to my mobile allowing me to see the O2 calendar on line by setting it as my homepage?

There is no flexibility to export the calendar data to a file format I can upload into MS Mobile windows or any other mobile phone operating system.

Therefore you cannot make appointments on the fly with any accuracy as you cannot see the current appointments already set up for that day. Also it makes it impossible to add additional appointments during the day as you are unable to see 'the bigger picture'

If O2 would like to hear more ... please send me a Joggler to review

Did you find it easy to set up?
Once I'd sorted out the network key, then yes. It was quick and easy. It was a bit of a hassle having to set it up first next to the router (right at the top of the house) and then have to unplug it and re-install it downstairs - but a minor niggle really!

  1. What worked best for you?

Calendar was very easy to set up. But then I have no complicated events to put in such as fortnightly ones!

I loved the way it automatically set the date and time for itself. It's only a small thing, but I hate having to go through the routine of having to set date/time with appliances. My home phone still shows the time wrongly no matter how many times I try to set the time so this was a great feature!

  1. Would you recommend it to a friend?

So far - but will have to see how we actually end up using it.

  1. Do you think it's good value for money

I have used a family calendar for the last 17 years, which costs me around £5. For work I use Outlook's calendar. I'm not sure I would really need to spend £150 for an electronic version - although clearly the benefit of alerting members of the family by text could be worth it - shall have to see how much this function gets used by us all.

  1. Would you like to see any additions?

Yes. I'd like the stand to be hinged. The Joggler sits on the hall table next to the phone, and the angle is quite awkward to enter new details, especially if you have to input a lot of text. If I could flatten the stand against the body of the Joggler, so it could be laid flat, this would be much easier.

  1. How would you use it to organise your family life?

As a replacement for the paper-based and mummy nagging system we currently use!

  1. Anything else you'd like to add?

Thank you, thank you, thank you 02 and Mumsnet!

BecauseImWorthIt · 30/05/2009 06:48

One more thing I've thought of - I presume that you can create more than one calendar? (Must check that out). It would be brilliant if I could set up a work calendar - and fantastic if there was some way that it could synchronise with my Outlook calendar!

MrsWeasley · 30/05/2009 09:14

I now have a things to do list and a shopping list on my joggler.

My things to do list consists of : play with learn about Joggler and my shoping list is healthy snacks choc biscuits

I found the memo section in the Tools sections and made a couple of pathetic useful lists

We are currently listening to some lovely tunes from The Script as we type/munch through breakfast

BecauseImWorthIt · 30/05/2009 09:25

Now you see, that's where I don't really see the point of the Joggler! It goes where our family calendar currently lives, which is by the phone in the hall. We don't have a big enough kitchen for us all to eat in there.

There isn't anywhere else that would work for us to plug it in.

Not much point having music playing in the hall when we're eating in the living room!

MerlinsBeard · 30/05/2009 09:44

so apparently there is a problem connecting to my wireless

I have entered my network key and it can't connect properly, unplugged it and started it again and when i go to select my wireless it says already connected.....???

BecauseImWorthIt · 30/05/2009 09:55

Call the help number that's on your letter - they were brilliant yesterday in helping me out.

BecauseImWorthIt · 30/05/2009 09:56

I'd like an option on the calendar to be able to put 'tbc' next to a time - but it won't let you do that

MerlinsBeard · 30/05/2009 09:57

Its downloading software now

BUT

I had to connect with a cable and the network cable is too short and i have to have it sat on top of my modem - hardly child friendly when my modem is on top of my harddrive ON THE FLOOR

Would have been nice if the wireless actually worked

The plug is HUGE, why can it not take up ONE socket on a multi plug instead of being so big it takes over 2?

MerlinsBeard · 30/05/2009 10:02

I don't have aletter Just a box (that had been opened and resealed) and 2 sim packs.

right the questions....

  1. Did you find it easy to set up? Wirelessly - NO despite me knowing all i needed to do in order to do it the joggler itself was being wierd with the cable yes.
  1. What worked best for you? - am still playing but like the calender (and it appeals to DH too) weather is fab idea although i could look out the window, only 1 game..?
  1. Would you recommend it to a friend? not sure yet
  1. Do you think it's good value for money
  1. Would you like to see any additions? a rechargable battery so i don't have to have it plugged in-plugs are at a premium in this house! internet connectivity - it appears to want to compete with the ipod touch which, for me does all this but a bit too small. I LIKE the size of the joggler
  1. How would you use it to organise your family life? we all know where each other is and instead of relying on texts/rememebering we can just look at it (and still panic as we are late)
  1. Anything else you'd like to add?
MerlinsBeard · 30/05/2009 10:15

another gripe

Please don't assume that i want to check London traffic - i don't live there and it's not the centre of the universe

BecauseImWorthIt · 30/05/2009 10:38

Helpline number is:

08448 750202

MerlinsBeard · 30/05/2009 10:41

am in BIWI Currently connecting to windows media player (which i a pain as everthing is itunes!-which is where an ipod touch would be better for me i think!)

Grattage · 30/05/2009 10:42

my sons like the sport thing
soupy you are sounding very cross - just get wi fi!
agree re mounting
I dont mind it being plugged in - have it next to the ipod speakery thing, MIl will be pleased we finally have a clock..

KingCanuteIAm · 30/05/2009 11:37

Has anyone got the traffic information to actually work? Or does it just put little flags on?

It seems to do flags over the whole country but a major snarl near us was only seen on the Joggler map about 4 hours after it had cleared (and I got stuck in it, thanks O2).

If it just puts silly little markers on problem spots and gives no actual information then I don't really think it can be called a traffic information function TBH.

MerlinsBeard · 30/05/2009 12:14

i can't see how to find what the info actually is, i have an orange "flag" with 10 in ... whatever that means!

MerlinsBeard · 30/05/2009 12:15

and if they have got the touch and move technology, why is that not applied to the whole thing (specifically searching music etc)

MrsWeasley · 30/05/2009 12:21

The Weather thing will be really useful as my DS asks me every morning about the weather and I rarely watch the forecast on the tv so it will solve alot of umming and arring and guess work.
