NOW CLOSED

This thread is for the 250 Mumsnetters who tested Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants with their DC.

The following items were tested:
Junior Smart Pants Size 5 for weights: 29-44lbs 13-20kg - 20 in a pack
Junior Nappies Big / XL Smart Pants Size 6 for weights: 35+ lbs 16+ kg - 18 in a pack

Here’s what Lidl have to say about the products: “Lidl knows the most important things when choosing a nappy are dryness, protection and comfort. That's why our pull up pants now have the magical absorbing tubes so we ensure ultimate dryness and leakage protection, and last year Mumsnetters asked for a wetness indicator on size 1 Newborn Nappies, so we added one!

There is no need to pay a premium price for a premium nappy, our prices are low but our quality is high. Our nappies are dermatologically tested, latex free, skin-friendly and independently tested. Protecting the environment is also important, therefore the padding used is from sustainably managed forests. The slim design means less materials, less packaging and less energy, helping to minimise our carbon footprint."

Testers - Below are some questions we’d like you to answer, but feel free to add any other comments you may have:

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use?
  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
  3. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
  4. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
  5. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage?

All testers who leave their feedback on site and complete the short survey that we sent to you will be entered into a prize draw to win £100 worth of Lidl vouchers (note: the winner will be sent 4x £25 vouchers, one voucher can be redeemed per transaction).

Thanks and good luck

  1. My son is 22 months and we used size 5.

  2. They had a nice design, were nice and soft and were a great fit for my
    son.

  3. Yes I would definitely recommend the nappies to a friend.

  4. Yes I would buy them as they kept my son dry and there was no leakage at all. He has quite sensitive skin and the material did not irritate him and he seemed very comfortable.

  5. I think they are better than other supermarket nappies I have tried. I would put them on par with pampers in terms of dryness and leakage but I would say that Lidl wins in fit and comfort. Overall I am very impressed.

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

2.5 years, size 5

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

They seemed fine although I did think the waistband seemed to have less give than other brands. They were however absorbent and my son had no complaints!

  1. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes, I think so. No more than I would recommend Tesco or Pampers though.

  1. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Posssibly as they are well priced but I don’t routinely go to Lidl.

  1. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage?

Equally as good.

Thanks for including us in the trial.

  2. They were lovely and soft and seemed to fit well
  3. Yes I would recommend although can’t comment on absorbency as my little one is largely dry overnight now.
  4. Yes I would buy again
  5. I prefer the Lidl design to pampers

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use?
5 years old - worn at night only. We tested size 6, XL.

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
I thought they were great, there was nothing I didn't like. Sizing was really generous and therefore comfortable, without being loose. I liked the fact there were no pictures (which always makes me think I'm being charged extra for licensing rights or something).

  3. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
    Definitely.

  4. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
Yes, work perfectly and price is very attractive.

  5. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage?
Definitely in the top 2 along with premium brands. I've tried other supermarket-own ones before with mixed results but Lidl's Lupilu pants were as good as any branded pull ups we've tried previously.

  1. My child is 2 years old and we used size 5.
  2. Overall impression was very good. They felt soft and looked comfortable, my child was happy to wear them. Nothing to dislike.
  3. Yes I would recommend them and my parents, who help with childcare, have purchased a pack to keep at their home.
  4. Yes, I have already purchased some packs to continue using.
  5. I feel they compare very favourably to other brands I have used. We had no problems with leaking or sagging whilst using and the material feels much softer than the Aldi pull ups I have bought previously. I feel they are on a par with Pampers, but much better value.

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the pull-ups on, and which size did you use?
    2 3/4 size 5

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull upS? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Really good - same gathered 'smocking' idea as pampers so gives a snugger fit

  3. Would you recommend these pull ups to a friend if they came up in conversation?
Yes apart from it's not been always possible to get all sizes in nappies/pull ups at our local branch which is a down side.

4)*Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull up pants again in the future? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes because the fit has now improved compared to before so they're not as prone to falling down when full or leaking, and they're v good value.

  1. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull up pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage? Just as good as pampers. Much better than Sainsbury's own that I recently tried.

overall they're fab. I just hope I can reliably get them in store.

1- 21 months. Size 5
2- Very comfy, soft material. Great fit for my slim boy. Diwnsides...the excess material around the crotch area (the elasticated frill) was very long and collected poo. They were also very hard to rip off.
3- Yes, I would suggest that they could be useful in the early stages of potty training.
4- Yes I would. I liked that the nappy seemed full very quickly after a wee as my little one understood that he had filled his nappy. I would not use these nappies during the night though, for this reason.
5- They are certainly good nappies in terms of comfort, price and fit, but I don't think they perform favourably in terms of dryness and leakage.

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

Hi. My child is four and in pull ups size 6.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Overall impressions were good. I thought that the pull ups looked fairly thin, and they didn't feel bulky when I took them out of the packet.

  2. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes ! I was really impressed.
As my son is fairly old to be in pull ups (he has special needs) he's on the move all day and I found they stayed in place and were very reliable.

  1. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Yes. What I liked about them was that they were thin and discreet for my son yet still very effective. I'm really impressed.

  1. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage?

I think they're equally as good as leading brands such as Pampers in terms of leakage and dryness. I'm especially pleased with the slim feel. And the price

  1. How old is your baby/ child who tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

My son is 20 months and we used size 5 pull up pants.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

We were impressed with the quality they were soft they had a good design and if my son did wee they coped with this until we went for a toilet trip as we have started to potty train.

  1. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
Yes and I have done so as pull ups can be very expensive for what they're so the fact that these are affordable and good quality I'm sold and have bought more packs since as we have a local Lidl store.

  2. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Already bought them as they don't have the expensive price tag that other pull ups have and they work just as well.

  1. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage?

They cope with leakage as good as the leading brand but half the price.

Many thanks for letting me test Lidl pull ups was brilliant timing as we have just started potty training and can now save some pennies by buying these that are alot cheaper than other brands but great quality grin x
