NOW CLOSED

This thread is for the 250 Mumsnetters who tested Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants with their DC.

The following items were tested:
Junior Smart Pants Size 5 for weights: 29-44lbs 13-20kg - 20 in a pack
Junior Nappies Big / XL Smart Pants Size 6 for weights: 35+ lbs 16+ kg - 18 in a pack

Here’s what Lidl have to say about the products: “Lidl knows the most important things when choosing a nappy are dryness, protection and comfort. That's why our pull up pants now have the magical absorbing tubes so we ensure ultimate dryness and leakage protection, and last year Mumsnetters asked for a wetness indicator on size 1 Newborn Nappies, so we added one!

There is no need to pay a premium price for a premium nappy, our prices are low but our quality is high. Our nappies are dermatologically tested, latex free, skin-friendly and independently tested. Protecting the environment is also important, therefore the padding used is from sustainably managed forests. The slim design means less materials, less packaging and less energy, helping to minimise our carbon footprint."

Testers - Below are some questions we’d like you to answer, but feel free to add any other comments you may have:

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use?
  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
  3. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
  4. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
  5. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage?

All testers who leave their feedback on site and complete the short survey that we sent to you will be entered into a prize draw to win £100 worth of Lidl vouchers (note: the winner will be sent 4x £25 vouchers, one voucher can be redeemed per transaction).

Thanks and good luck

  1. 25 months old, size 5
  2. I liked them- seemed comfortable and absorbent. My toddler wasn't so keen though, he prefers what he calls 'baby nappies'- regular ones with tape!
  3. I would recommend them, they seem good for the price
  4. I'd definitely buy them if toddler decides he wants to wear pull ups- they're good value, cheaper than Pampers. I didn't compare the prices to Aldi though, which we normally use.
  5. We haven't tried other pull ups, but they seemed pretty much the same as normal nappies.

I had the chance to product test lidles lupilu pull up pants for 2 weeks only recieved one pack which wasn’t enough.
My daughter is age 3
I tested size 6 pull ups
I would highly recommend these their was no issues at all to be honest their better than asda and tesco own brand my daughter was comfortable and no leaks the only issue with all pull ups I don’t feel their is enough room in the bum area but since I have tested these I’ve been and bought more at £2.04 a pack

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use? My little boy is 18m old and we tried the size 5 nappy pants
  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?* Very impressed. Usually use nappy pants at night as he sleeps on his front and normally nappies tend to leak (he's very wriggly). Have tried pampers, Asda, Aldi, Tesco, Morrison's and now Lidl. They were very soft, and had a good snug waistband. Also liked that they have the sticky strip to close them up with when changing as none apart from pampers seems to have these! Not a single leak, they fit him really well (he is quite slim and most are baggy around the waist)*
  3. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?* Definitely.*
  4. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why?* I don't have a Lidl near me but have already got my husband to buy 4 packs from the one near where he works Grin.* Such a good price and does the job.
  5. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage? * Better than most I have tried, as mentioned my little boy is quite slim and sleeps on his front, and these have a good elasticated waistband which means they don't gape and leak overnight.*
sharond101 · 03/05/2018 13:45

Size 5 age 2. These were premium in quality with no leaks and soft on the skin. I'd recommend them and think they are superior to other brands I've tried.

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use? 3 years old, size 5
  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? I can't think of anything negative to say. I liked how soft they feel. They seemed quite thin in comparison with others I have used. Also the tape is very useful to roll up the pants once removed. Most nappy pants don't have this feature.
  3. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation? Yes
  4. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why? Yes for the reasons stated in 2)
  5. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage? They were excellent we didn't have any leakage and no soreness from prolonged exposure to dampness. I haven't had any such problems with the other brands I've used though so they were at least as good as the others in that respect. We have a new Lidl opened just down the road do I will definitely be stopping by to buy some.

My toddler is 18 months and I applied and was selected to take part in this product test but never received the item. I did email Mumsnet on multiple occasions but never received a response so unfortunately cannot leave any more feedback on this

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use?
DS is 2 and we used size 5

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Very Good! They're so soft now and didn't irritate ds' skin at all. They for very well and did a good job during the day but did leak at night. If be happy to use them on DS during the day but will be sticking to my normal brand for nights.

  3. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
    Yes I would!

  4. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
I will be buying these again. The quality for the price is just fantastic but will be sticking to another brand for night times in our case.

  5. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage?
Just as good as other more expensive brands during the day. But night time leaks were an issue I don't have with my normal brand.

Jamb16 · 03/05/2018 14:49
  1. 2 years 4 months and used size 4
  2. I liked how soft and comfortable they felt and my daughter liked the pictures on them however I found them difficult to put on and take off
3.probably not
  1. No as I found them really difficult to take off and put on compared to other nappies
  2. I found they didn't leak at all and worked quite well in that aspect compared to some other brands
Miaow1234 · 03/05/2018 15:48
  1. Aged 5, size 6
  2. I loved how soft they felt, a plain unisex design, no leakage at night whilst using these. I love the fact they are made using sustainable forests materials.
  3. Yes they are fab
  4. I would buy again as have a Lidl in town, they are good value and great quality.
  5. I would say these are superior to ones I use at present which are Asda and Aldi which often leak and sag. The waist band is also great addition.
bec4everuk1 · 03/05/2018 17:12
  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

My son is 20 months and we used size 5 pull up pants.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

We were impressed with the quality they were soft they had a good design and if my son did wee they coped with this until we went for a toilet trip as we have started to potty train.

  1. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
Yes and I have done so as pull ups can be very expensive for what they're so the fact that these are affordable and good quality I'm sold and have bought more packs since as we have a local Lidl store.

  2. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Already bought them as they don't have the expensive price tag that other pull ups have and they work just as well.

  1. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage?

They cope with leakage as good as the leading brand but half the price.

Many thanks for letting me test Lidl pull ups was brilliant timing as we have just started potty training and can now save some pennies by buying these that are alot cheaper than other brands but great quality Grin x

MoNigheanDonn · 03/05/2018 17:19

1) How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

22m and we used the size 5

2) What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

They look great; liked that there was quite alot of nappies in the pack. They felt nice and my son seemed happy wearing them (he has been known to get grumpy with some brands)

3) Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes, definitely

4) Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Yes - very good value and quality. I'll buy them whenever I'm shopping at Lidl.

5) How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage?

On par with the brand names; very good quality

Desmondo2016 · 03/05/2018 17:26
  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

Size 5. 16 months old.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I liked the generous sizing and they were a comfy fit, more suited to my daughter's shape than other pull ups we have tried. Not quite as absorbent as a nappy. Would leak if left more than 4 hours or so. I liked the sticky tab for rolling up the uses nappy. They didn't rip down the sides quite as easily as other brands which made it slightly harder to change.

  1. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation? Yes although I wouldn't rave about them over other brands.

  2. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why? Yes if I was in Lidl but I wouldn't go out of my way to.

  3. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage? On a par with other pull up pants for dryness. Not as good as nappies for leakage. Definitely better once toilet training has begun.

xyz567frog · 03/05/2018 17:34
  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use?
Very nearly 3 years old and size XL.

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? We really liked them, they were so soft. I don't usually like pull ups as find they are not as leak proof as normal nappies but no issues with these even overnight.

  3. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation? Yes

  4. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why? Yes, because of how soft they were.

  5. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage? Way better!

Bicnod · 03/05/2018 17:34
  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

3 - used size 6.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

Overall impression is that they were well made and felt sturdier than many pull ups I've used. Positives: kept my daughter dry all night and no problem with sides ripping when putting them on (this happens fairly frequently with the Aldi pull ups I usually use). Negative: only one, that the sides were very very difficult to rip in order to take the nappy off in the morning. There must be a middle ground there somewhere!!

  1. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes.

  1. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Yes. They reliably kept my daughter dry all night.

  1. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage?

Much better than Huggies night pull ups in terms of dryness. About the same as Aldi for dryness/leakage but less flimsy so less wastage.

greenjojocat · 03/05/2018 17:44
  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use? I tested them with my 22month old twins, we used size 5
  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? I liked the look and feel of the pants, they felt soft and that they would be comfortable. They were easy to get on and off and they were more absorbent than I expected them to be.
  3. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation? Yes definitely and I have done already.
  4. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why? Yes definitely, I do my main shop at Lidl so it would be great to be able to get my nappies at the same time.
  5. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage? I haven’t tried pants before so can not compare but compared to the usual brand of size 5 nappies they were the same possible even a bit better as easier to get on a wriggling toddler!
joleyn · 03/05/2018 18:46
  1. age 5. Size 6
  2. we liked them. They didn't leak and seemed to fit well. My son wished their was some sort of character or picture on them. It was hard for him to tell what was the front and back.
  3. yes we would recommend them
  4. yes we would buy them as they were reliably dry
  5. we normally use Aldi pull up pants and they were very comparable in terms of dryness and leakage
misskatamari · 03/05/2018 19:20

) How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

4 years old and we used the XL size pull-ups

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I really liked them. They were lovely and soft and very stretchy which made getting them on and off really easy (and manageable for my dd). I was a bit surprised that they were just plain white, as I’m used to nappies having pictures on, but it didn’t detract from them. It might be annoying if you use multiple sizes though, not to have the size on them
3) Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
Yes definitely

  1. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why? I would yes. We’ve used Aldi nappies for years but have had a few pull up leaks recently (night time), so I will be stocking up on these from Lidl

  2. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness

They’re excellent - definitely in part with pampers and the pull-ups I would say slightly beat Aldi ones due to their stretch and softness (and lack of leaks for us)

QueenOfPharts · 03/05/2018 19:40
  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use? DD is 4 and still wears a pull up at night
  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? Good quality, absorbent and soft. A shame they were just plain with no design
  3. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation? Yes good price and almost as good as pampers
  4. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why? Yes was impressed with value and quality.
  5. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage? Almost as good as pampers and fine for use at night time
QueenOfPharts · 03/05/2018 19:41

*we used size 6 and a good fit

Beach11 · 03/05/2018 20:17
  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use? We used size 6 & 2.5 years
  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? Soft & good quality. Less bulky than other brands. Like everything What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
  3. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation? Would definitely recommend & already have to friends/family that now buy the nappies.
  4. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why? I’ve not gone back to my previous brand. They are such good quality & a fraction of the price of other brands. As good as expensive brands.
  5. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage? Actually found them better than a major brand and less bulky. DC likes this better
