NOW CLOSED

This thread is for the 250 Mumsnetters who tested Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants with their DC.

The following items were tested:
Junior Smart Pants Size 5 for weights: 29-44lbs 13-20kg - 20 in a pack
Junior Nappies Big / XL Smart Pants Size 6 for weights: 35+ lbs 16+ kg - 18 in a pack

Here’s what Lidl have to say about the products: “Lidl knows the most important things when choosing a nappy are dryness, protection and comfort. That's why our pull up pants now have the magical absorbing tubes so we ensure ultimate dryness and leakage protection, and last year Mumsnetters asked for a wetness indicator on size 1 Newborn Nappies, so we added one!

There is no need to pay a premium price for a premium nappy, our prices are low but our quality is high. Our nappies are dermatologically tested, latex free, skin-friendly and independently tested. Protecting the environment is also important, therefore the padding used is from sustainably managed forests. The slim design means less materials, less packaging and less energy, helping to minimise our carbon footprint."

Testers - Below are some questions we’d like you to answer, but feel free to add any other comments you may have:

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use?
  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
  3. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
  4. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
  5. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage?

All testers who leave their feedback on site and complete the short survey that we sent to you will be entered into a prize draw to win £100 worth of Lidl vouchers (note: the winner will be sent 4x £25 vouchers, one voucher can be redeemed per transaction).

Thanks and good luck

  1. DS is 3.5 and we tested size 6
  2. I was really impressed with them! DS was very reluctant to use Pull Ups, but instantly loved these. They were SO soft and comfortable, he said they were like "fluffy white clouds". The waistband was stretchy and flexible, so they fit well and were easy to get up and down. There were no problems with leaks at all, and they're a great price. There was nothing we didn't like about them.
  3. I would absolutely recommend them, I honestly think they are the best nappies we've ever tried.
  4. Yes, I would definitely buy these. I actually went to Lidl today hoping they would be available in store now, but the packet I bought still seems to be the old type which are not as soft and flexible. I hope when the new ones are introduced in store it will be clear from the packaging that they're the updated version?
  5. We had no problems with leakage at all, so they must compare favourably to other brands.

We tried the size 6 pull ups, my daughter is 3.5. The design was plain?? However they were extremely soft and she seemed comfortable in them. She only wears them overnight and we normally have a lot of leaks using the aldis or pampers pullups but I'm pleased to say we didn't have any leaks over night. For the price I would say these are fantastic value and I will 100% be buying these from now on

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? We are really impressed with them. They were a brilliant fit and didn’t start to fall down as they got “heavier”.

  4. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why? Yes. We have tried several brands of pull up pants and feel that these are equivalent to the more expensive brands on the market like pampers and much much better than many supermarket equivalents.

No leakage, and zero odour. I felt that these were far more absorbent than other branded nappies.

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use? We used the size 5 pull ups. DS is 2.5
  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? Very impressed. Really lovey and soft but also strong. Coped with a very active toddler. Loved the design. We had no leaks at all (although we are potty training so haven't had many wees/accidents anyway. They were brilliant for potty training - coped with being pulled up and down lots in the day. Nothing I disliked.
  3. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation? Yes definitely.
  4. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why? If for any reason DS regresses on is potty training I would definitely buy these over the ones I've been using (pampers) as they are just as good and more cost effective. I'm sure I'll use them for my next child.
  5. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage? Hard for me to answer this as we are potty training and DS has hardly had any wet nappies and even then it was a very small accident but for the one or two accidents he did have these worked really well.

My son is 4 and we used size 6

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

Nice and soft and not crinkly like some nappies, a bit plain but their nappies so it doesn't really matter. We only used them for night time as he is dry during the day. The only gripe I had is that it didn't show which was the back/front. Easy to pull on and plenty of room in them but a pain to rip off.

  1. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes definitely

  1. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Yes for the right price, I early go to Lidl though as not many round where I live.

  1. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage?

Definitely no leaks and nice and dry in the morning so works as it should. Work the same if not better than others

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use? My DD is 18 months old and we used the size 5
  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? Overall my DD liked the picture on the front, the fact they are made of fabric made them feel more secure and less likely to tear, they also didn't rub or roll up how some of the paper ones do. The only downside would be they didn't cope very well with an exploding toddler nappy.
  3. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation? Absolutely
  4. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why? Definitely, they're much better than other brands I have tried in terms of fit, strength and value.
  5. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage? Much better than the other brands I use, for dryness and leakage. They didn't contain everything all the time but they held up better than expected
notsusan · 14/05/2018 20:18
  1. DD is almost 3 and we were sent the size 5 pull ups for use overnight.
  2. Generally good impression of the pull ups. They seemed comfy on her and kept her dry. They aren't particularly easy to get off by ripping the sides. I only had to take them off like knickers, but it's good to have the option of ripping the sides if they are soiled.
  3. I would recommend them, I really quite liked them.
  4. I would buy them again absolutely
  5. About the same in terms of dryness as other brands I've tried (inc huggies), as to be fair, none of them have every leaked
Ladylucky99 · 14/05/2018 22:22
  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use? 3 year old size 6

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? Incredibly soft and gentle on the skin!! Softest nappy I have ever dealt with!!!!!! The little tab was great for rolling it up and sealing it. Haven’t anything to say negative. Little boy is almost dry at night so not able to comment on dryness

  3. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation? Yes definitely

  4. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why? Yes I would die to their softness and fitting

  5. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage? We couldn’t test this aspect out as my
Son is suddenly going through the night dry. However for all
Other reasons I will definitely be buying these for my 2 year old when she’s ready for them

NEMSparkle · 14/05/2018 23:35
  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

2years 10 months. Size 5 I think.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

Really liked the design and they were really soft. This we found really good as previous pull ups we have tried were very uncomfortable for DD. The sides were really nice and stretchy and the whole thing was just super soft, she even ooohed when we put them on.

Not really keen on the sticker thing on the back that you use to fold up the pants after use. Not sure what a better solution would be but I found it a bit useless I wanted to stick the sides over like you would with a nappy.

  1. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes would definitely recommend and already have.

  1. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Yes would definitely buy these again as we were really impressed with them. Just wish it wasn't such a pain to get to our closest store.

  1. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage?

No issues with leakage at all found that they fitted really well around the leg area so no leaks and kept DD dry with no rashes or uncomfortableness.

FunkyBrownie · 15/05/2018 07:03
  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

3 (nearly 4) and size XL

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

Very soft, nice and easy for him to pull up and down on his own

  1. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes

  1. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Yes, because they’re usually good value from Lidl

  1. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage?

We had a couple of leaks (he only wears them at night), so not sure if that was just because of the volume of wee, as opposed to them being leaky

HelloMyNameIsMoomin · 15/05/2018 09:46
  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use?
DD is 2 and had size 5

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Found they came up really small on DD. Lots of leakage.

  3. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
    No

  4. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
    No

  5. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage?
Found these to not be anywhere near as good as other brands. Currently using Sainsburys which are a much better fit and no leakage.

emmskie03 · 15/05/2018 13:19

  1. 3 years, 6plus
  2. Good nappies, didn't leak. Slight odour in morning from wee that I don't get with other nappies. Didn't really like the penguin character as it made me think of winter, wouldn't stop me buying them though.
  3. Yes
  4. Yes absolutely
  5. Very comparable.

    2yrs 9mths, size 5

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

Easy to put on. Wasn't sure what the sticky thing was at first, presume it's to seal when taken off? We used them at night and there were no leaks, although there isn't much weeing at night going on at the moment.
Comfy, no complaints from DS.

  1. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes

  1. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the Pull Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

My son is 3.5 and just in pull ups at night time. We tested the XL/size 6 nappies.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Pull Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

My first impression was they were very soft in comparison to our usual brand which is great for night time sleeping. Our pack had no design on it (prototype pack?) and I had no idea which way to put them on. They coped well with my son's morning wee which is a true test for any nappy!

  1. Would you recommend Lidl Pull Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes definitely, I was pleasantly surprised.

  1. Would you buy Lidl Pull Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
Yes I would buy them again if I was in store, I liked them a lot and great value for money.

  2. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Pull Up Pants to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage?

They coped just as well as our usual brand and are cheaper!

Thank you for the opportunity to test.

fraggle84 · 15/05/2018 20:16

Really sorry but this product test took a long time from applying to getting the pull ups and in that time dd has become toilet trained
