We were asked by Disney Kitchen to find 250 MNers to test out their new range of Disney Kitchen Toddler Snacks. Testers were sent out 1 of 2 bundles: one containing 3 snacks and the other containing 2 snacks - please see below for more information. Read the comments on this thread to find out what they thought!

What did were your first impression on the product?

The bits in the packaging looked good and really caught my 3 year olds eye, the flapjacks looked good! The melty twists were odd, too big to be a crisp but not a great texture for a breadstick type snack.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

She loved the biscuits and we would definitely try again, I thought they were a bit dry but she didn't seem to notice or mind! The flapjacks were very sticky so she wasn't a big fan but one of her friends loved it and I thought they tasted great. The melty twists went down well for flavour.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

I thought the biscuits were a good bag size to have on me for snacks as were the flapjacks. Not too big or small!

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

Not all of our bits came in the official packaging but the stuff that did looked great and very appealing to a 3 year old!

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

I don't really have a current brand as such but would definitely buy the wholegrain biscuits again as they went down really well and great to have shoved in my handbag for emergency snacks!

What did were your first impression on the product? The biscuits were brightly packed and my 2yr old wanted to try them when we opened the package. I liked the fact the flapjacks packaging was see-through and you were able to see the product .

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture? My child liked the taste of the strawberry and vanilla biscuits but was not keen on the apple (this could have been because of the stronger taste). They did not like the flap jack because of the sticky texture and were not keen on the melty twists they struggled to eat and would be difficult to eat out and about.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
We only received the biscuits to see in the official pack. The pack is bright and eye catching. The individual packs contained enough biscuits for a individual snack.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging? I likes the fact the snacks were packaged into small portions for out and about, the biscuits could do with having a resealable sticker incase not eaten in one go

If we saw the Disney biscuits in shops we would buy again as my toddler enjoyed them

What did were your first impression on the product?

DS immediately commented on the Micky mouse branding which was appealing to him.
Didn't realise they were Annabel Carmel, as is wasn't mentioned on the initial info.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

Broccoli and cheese melts twists
Horrible texture
Squeaky on teeth
Awkward shape to eat as one twist, therefore messy.
Flavour ok but DS didn't like them, had one bite and wouldn't eat any more.
Would not buy

Apple biscuits and strawberry and vanilla biscuits
DS are them all said they were tasty
Packs and biscuits quite small
Sugar and salt content not too bad
I thought they didn't taste very nice, but he strawberry were nicer than the apple.
May buy depending on price. Maybe only if on special offer.

DS seemed to enjoy it at first then gave it to me and said he doesn't like it it's too "bendy" whatever that means.
I found it to taste quite artificial despite there being no articulate flavourings.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

I think the samples were small which is fine, they don't need to be any bigger for my 3 year old, but an older child may need a bigger pack.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
It was immediately recognisable as Disney, DS loved it, he was taliking about his Micky mouse biscuits afterwards.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I don't really have a brand, I buy organix every now and then if they are on offer but mainly give DS homemade snacks.

What did were your first impression on the product?

The Products looked great. I loved that the melty twists reminded me of the Japanese snack umaibo.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

my child loved a lot of them. Really loved the twisty melts though I felt they were a little too salty as salt was the main taste I could taste from them. The flapjacks were a hit too, and she loved the little biscuits.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

I thought the biscuits were great in the multipack, perhaps could have a few more in each bag. The melty twists were ok size just about, wouldn't go any smaller. Similar comment for the flapjack, quite small but they are very sweet so I guess I wouldn't want my toddler having much more of that.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

Nice colours and characters. Looks attractive for a child.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

To be honest, I buy whatever is on offer. So it would depend on the price. If the price was right I would definitely buy.

What did were your first impression on the product? First impressions were good, packaging looks fun and suitable for young children

Haven't had mine yet either! I have only just realised these are the Annabel Karmel snacks and we already buy the fruity bakes!

What did were your first impression on the product?
The packaging was nice and eye catching. The biscuits weren't very impressive as I thought they'd have a Mickey shape as opposed to just circles. The flapjacks looked nice.

Everything was a big hit. He wanted more of everything so that's always a good sign. Complained about the flapjacks being a bit too sticky.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Probably could do with more biscuits for an older child. Flapjacks were quite small but probably because of how sweet they were. Wouldn't go any bigger for the melty twists.

Very eye catching. Will definitely appeal to children with its bright colours and Mickey Mouse.

I'd probably buy occasionally as a treat, if the price is right, but not for a regular snack.

What did were your first impression on the product?
I really liked the appearance of the packaging and my son (3) was very excited to try them due to recognising the characters on the packet. I found it very helpful that they came with clear information about what was in them.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
He seemed to enjoy all the the options that we were provided with. I think he struggled with the size of the melty twists slightly and they were a bit crumbly for him as he is going through a phase of not liking mess. Generally though they were a success.

I think that the size of the melty twists was a bit too big potentially but otherwise the pack sizes and formats were very well suited to my son.

The fact that there were characters that my son recognised was really good.

I would consider it depending on the cost.

My toddler loves the pictures on packaging. She loved all the products but surprisingly the melts were the biggest hit. Her 6 year old brother helped to test and realized he didn't like cinnamon flavour in the apple and cinnamon biscuits. Pack sizes seem about right. My kids love Disney characters and were happy to see them. I don't have a regular brand I go to so I would probably buy the products if the price was OK compared to others.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture? She loves the Melty twists and Fruity flapjacks, not a big fan of the biscuits.
What did you like about the format/pack size? Pack size is good and the package definitely is eye catching. It would help if package has pink color for little girls.

Loved the look of them my DD was excited to open them and had to try straight away we tried bundle

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture? The melty twist were a big hit not only for the taste but the fun design . The flap jacks tasted lovely but the texture was very sticky which put me off a bit due to fact it ended up being very sticky house as kids like to touch also I worry if there in my bag and get hot that there become impossible to eat . The biscuits were a hit as well mostly the strawberry.

What did you like about the format/pack size? handy pack size for bags easy for little hands to hold and the bags Did nt tear easy when little hands where put in to get another out which most biscuit packets do resulting in trying find something to put them in when your out. Love the fact the flap jacks were see through so my daughter could see wat was inside before choosing

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen? I would especially as my 9 yr old also loved them as well as my toddler so happy kids all around and knowing they were better than normal biscuits etc make me steer to them even more

The packaging was great and eye catching.
To be honest I wasn't sure she would take to the taste but she really enjoyed it.they were just right sizes for both home and wen we went to the park.not sticky nor too messy.
I don't know whether I'd switch,if they r didn't I can imagine a bigger prise?but if I could I'd love to keep buying them.they r different enough for a norm or treat too.
Plus being Disney gave them a head start on a dc who adores Disney.

They looked fun for kids, the recognised they were Disney products straightaway.

The twists were probably a bit on the big size and could be split into 2.

It was very eye catching, and very appealing to children. This encourages them to try and enjoy the product.

Thanks Mumsnet for these, our samples arrived on Monday and we are testing Bundle 2 - melty twists, fruity flapjacks and mini wholegrain biscuits

What did were your first impression on the product?
Only the mini biscuits were in the fully branded packaging and we liked these a lot.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Really liked the mini biscuits and the flapjack though I thought the flapjack was very small. Although considering it's quite sweet, that's probably a good thing. He wasn't keen on the melty twists, they weren't a great shape to eat - I liked them however.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Good pack size, easy to carry about on a day out and not too big as to spoil a meal. Easy to open. The melty twists weren't a great shape to eat as mentioned above.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
The fact that they carried Mickey Mouse on the packet was an immediate win for my DC. Packaging is brightly coloured and eye-catching, a good size. I hadn't realised these were Annabel Karmel products.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Yes as long as the price isn't overly inflated just because they carry both Disney and Annabel Karmel branding, My 7 year old also liked these so at least they would definitely be eaten!

What did were your first impression on the product?
Twists - a bit random looking, was expecting more of a cheese twist size!
Flapjack - looked very tasty, good size
Biscuits - dc were the most excited about these as they had Mickey Mouse on the packet.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Twists - very bland, the tiny bit of flavour was licked off and then the twists were discarded.
Flapjacks - far too sticky
Biscuits- dc loved the strawberry and vanilla flavour but not so keen on the apple flavour.

All products were a good size for a snack.

Clear and bold, very attractive to small children!

Placemarking as we got ours this morning. Were we the only ones not to receive them in the packaging?

Just received! The melty twists didn't come in any packaging and neither did the flapjacks.
My 3yo has tucked straight into the broccoli and cheese twist and LOVED it.
Will update with answers to questions when he's had them all.

He loves the packaging of the biscuits and is excited that they're 'Disney food'.
Thinks the flapjack is sticky but yummy!

First impression
The Disney themed packs (the biscuits) were eye catching and DD was interested in them.

Format
The melty twist was a bit odd in size/shape. The flapjack was a good size I thought the biscuit portion was quite large.

Taste and texture
DD didn't like the melty twist at all. It was cheese and broccoli flavour. I thought they tasted surprisingly ok.
She did really like the flapjack though. I put a few biscuits into her lunch box but she said she didn't like them. I will try them again from the packet to see if 'Mickey' makes them taste better.

The packaging
The branded bits were bright and really eye catching for DD

So far the flapjacks are the ones I would buy again.
