What did were your first impression on the product?

Flapjacks-looked a good size for a child
Twists- very strange, haven't seen anything like them before
Biscuits- looked really nice and a good portion.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

Flapjacks-my children tried them but weren't fans, they aren't fans of flapjacks all together though. I however love flapjacks and found these delicious. They had loads of fruity flavour and I quite likes the sticky texture. I think they're good for children as they won't crumble.

Twists- my 4&2 year old shared the cheese and broccoli twist and it was a big hit. They both really enjoyed it. They both said it was nice and crunchy and they liked the flavour. Neither of them liked the other one so I thought 'what the heck' and let my almost 7 month old at it. Wow, he absolutely loved it. I've never given him the other baby puff/crisps before but have given them to my other children when younger. I found these twists much better, he had a firm hold of it and actually ate the lot instead of chewing a bit and throwing it.

Biscuits- My 4 year old loved the strawberry ones, said they taste just like strawberry milkshake, she didn't like the apple ones. My 2 year old didn't like the strawberry ones but loved the Apple ones! She said they taste like apple cereal bars (nutrigrains to be precise) . I tried one of each and have to agree!

What did you like about the format/pack size?

I thought they where all a perfect size for a children snack... And possibly an adults!

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

Was lovely and bright. The flapjacks and twists weren't in proper packaging so can't comment there but the biscuits packaging was lovely. The kids where very excited to try them when they saw Disney!

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

I don't really buy set brands, like to mix things up now and then. I will definitely be buying the twists as all the children enjoyed at least one of the flavours. I will likely buy the flapjacks for my youngest when he's older and honestly would buy them for myself as I enjoyed them so much. There's other biscuits my daughters would rather have but once my youngest is over 12 months I'll likely buy them as a snack to have in my bag for him.

Thanks so much for choosing our family, really enjoyed this trial.

abcxyz123 · 08/09/2017 20:08

What did were your first impression on the product?
I liked the brightly coloured packaging on the biscuits, and the kids liked seeing Mickey Mouse on it.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
The children (aged 2 and 5) ate the flapjacks very happily. They were "delicious", apparently! They ate the biscuits with less enthusiasm. I found them rather bland (a bit like eating cardboard) and I think the children thought they weren't sweet enough. They ate the melty twists but, again, weren't that enthusiastic about them. I think they would prefer a stronger cheesy flavour.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
I thought the format of the melty twists was a bit weird - too big and crumbly to take out and about for snacking. They are also not a very easy shape to eat. The flapjacks were a good size for little ones, and I think that there was a sensible number of biscuits in a packet.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Nice bright colours, and the Mickey Mouse picture makes them stand out over other kids' snacks.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I don't think I would, because my two year old has more "adult" tastes and prefers things with stronger (sweet or savoury) flavours. I might buy the flapjacks sometimes though. I think the biscuits would be really good for smaller toddlers.

HeadDreamer · 08/09/2017 20:15

What did were your first impression on the product?
The melty twists came in plain silver packaging, and the flapjacks in clear bags. They don't look disney at all. The biscuits however have a big mickey mouse on them.

The melty twists also look too large for a toddler.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Both my 2 and 6 yo are testing them. My 2 yo would not eat the melty twists. But she loved the flapjacks and both the strawberry and apple biscuits. My 6yo loved all of them, including the large melty twists. They've both asked me to buy more.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
The flapjacks are a bit on the small side. The biscuits packs are a bit on the big side. The melty twists are HUGE.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
I only have proper packaging on the biscuits. They look a lovely green and pink shade. And both children love the mickey on the bags.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I'll definitely buy more of the flapjacks as they have the organix oaty bars regularly. But I won't buy the biscuits or the melty twists.

Marsis · 08/09/2017 21:35

Just to update the biscuits were willingly eaten from the branded packing but do think the portion is quite large. The flapjack although a little sticky was definitely the favourite and a really good size as a snack on the walk home from nursery. Will be keeping a look out for these.

FreshGarbage · 08/09/2017 22:09

We received Disney Kitchen Toddler snacks bundle 1 - Fruity bakes and Italian Breadsticks.

I was hosting a play date when the delivery arrived, so after playing with the bubble wrap, three children tried the snacks, two 3 year olds and a 5 year old.

What did were your first impression on the product?
Not great...looked like very 'beige' plain snacks in clear plastic wrappers. Ours didn't have any branded packaging.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Tomato breadsticks - dry, grainy and unpleasant texture. Flavour was ok, but a bit cardboardy. None of the children would take a second bite and they were declared 'yucky'.
Parmesan breadsticks - much better! I would eat these and my 5 year old really enjoyed them, asking for more. The little ones ate them, but didn't ask for more.

Apple fruit bites - excellent. All the children really enjoyed them and wanted more. Just sweet enough for them. Lovely fruity filling and biscuity casing combined for a thoroughly enjoyable snack.

Strawberry fruit bites - delicious! Please make these, as I would be buying them regularly for my family. Reminded me of a Fig Roll, but much nicer.

Mixed berry flavour - good, but not quite as good as the apple or strawberry fruit bites. The flavour and texture was a bit 'dank' but did improve over a few bites.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Great size for the breadsticks and fruity bakes - perfect for little hands, and convenient to carry in a day bag.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
We didn't get any with packaging, so based purely on the printed leaflet, it looked good - not too Disney to appeal to parents, Disney enough to appeal to children!

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I would definitely buy the Fruity Bites if they weren't too expensive. I'll probably be sticking to our normal breadsticks.

MarriedinMaui · 08/09/2017 22:21

We had bundle 2

What did were your first impression on the product?

Ds was very keen to try them all. Thought they looked really tasty and exciting.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
He wasn't keen on the flapjacks (I thought they were very sweet) but he liked the twists and the biscuits.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Good pack size. It's really handy to have something small that fits in a handbag for just in case situations.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
DS liked the Disney connection and recognised the characters.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Yes, depending on price.

GinYummy · 08/09/2017 22:33

We were trying out bundle 1 - the breadsticks and fruity bakes.

What did were your first impression on the product? I thought the breadsticks were a nice shape and generous portion. The fruity bakes looked quite small but yummy.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Both of my dc 1 and three hated the tomato bread sticks. They spat them out and declared them yucky.
They enjoyed the parmesan ones but when I tried them I thought they were quite tasteless? They both loved the fruity bakes and were asking for more.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
The breadsticks portions were very generous, however I felt the fruity baked were quite small.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Dissapointingly the products were in clear plastic bags. However the information sheet looked bright and attractive. My dc enjoyed looking at it.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I would certainly buy the fruity bakes again, especially if they were wrapped as individual portions.

Thank you for letting us be part of the trial Smile

MadeForThis · 08/09/2017 22:34

First impression

The biscuit packaging was Disney and colourful. Rest looked like internal wrapping. Portion sizes looked small but adequate.

Taste/texture.

Loved the cheesy swirls. Could be rated as a whole or broken up into crisps. DD preferred to eat while. Looked like it would be messy but held together well. Biscuits were very sweet and strongly flavoured but DD loved them. Great snack size. Flapjacks were sticky so I broke into pieces and gave in smaller amounts.

Format/pack size.

Small but more than enough for a snack. DD ate the whole of each snack. Any bigger and I would have held some back. Loved the design of the twists.

Packaging

Only received biscuits in Disney packaging. Colourful and bright.

Would you swap?

I don't have a regular brand so depending on price I would buy all of them again.

churchilllounge · 09/09/2017 06:26

Mine still haven't arrived yet. No post till Monday. When's the deadline?

ApocalypseCow · 09/09/2017 07:21

What did were your first impression on the product?
Mine arrived in plain packaging. The products inside all looked really tasty. They looked healthy and my 2 year old was excited to try them.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
He loved the fruity bakes and asked for more, we would definitely try them again. He didn't like the taste of the sundried tomato breadsticks at all, but I really enjoyed them! He much preferred the Parmesan flavour. Breadsticks weren't at all dry and had lots of flavour.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Packs of breadsticks were a good size for a toddler. The fruity bakes were small, but a nice size for a little snack - unsure how many would actually be in a packet?

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
NA - none of the samples were in official packaging.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I don't really have a current brand as such, but would definitely buy the Parmesan breadsticks for lunch boxes and would buy the sundried tomato breadsticks for myself as a snack! My toddler loved the fruity bakes and I would buy these as an after school snack.

Bangkokbaby · 09/09/2017 08:24

Mine still haven't arrived yet either. I'll not get another post till Monday.

lornathewizzard · 09/09/2017 08:30

bundle 2
Melty twists
Fruity flapjacks
Mini wholegrain biscuits

What did were your first impression on the product?

Things that were packaged nice and bright, flapjacks looked tasty, melty twists looked, erm, odd

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

Flapjacks too sticky but taste was good
Melty twists difficult to eat but gave it a good try. I thought these smelt horrible and tasted bland.
Biscuits by far the biggest hit. DS liked both flavours

What did you like about the format/pack size?

Melty twists should be smaller so more manageable and with more area for flavour to cover rather than loads of unflavoured area.

Flapjacks should be less sticky to touch

Biscuits I thought were too small to handle very well but DS managed ok. Packet sizes just right I think

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

Bright and with Mickey Mouse, can't go wrong!

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

Depending on price. Organix etc very expensive unless on offer, would be good to have a cheaper but still good alternative that isn't just 'adult' treats

duzzlightyearsmum · 09/09/2017 08:32

First impressions on the products: ours came in see through plastic bags with no branding on. The breadsticks looked good and chunky. Thought the fruity bakes were a bit on the small side.

What did you think of the taste/texture: DD loved the parmesan breadsticks and they were demolished in minutes. She wasn't as keen on the tomato ones but did eat them. She tried one bite of the fruity bake but said "it doesn't taste nice", I think it was the outside cakey bit she wasn't keen on.

What did you think of the format pack size?:
I thought the breadsticks were in a good size packet, perfect for taking with you on a day out and keeping them going between meals or as part of a lunch. Fruity bakes were on the small size I imagine if DD had liked them she'd easily eat 2 at a time.

What did you like about the packaging:
none arrived in official packaging but the leaflet showing the packaging looked good. The bright Disney theme would definitely convince DD to eat them if she wasn't sure.

Would you swap your current brand to Disney Kitchen?:
For some things I would. The breadsticks definitely, in fact I'm going to look for some for lunchbox, but not the fruity bakes.

KoalasAteMyHomework · 09/09/2017 09:46

We tested Bundle 2 which included the Melty twists, Fruity flapjacks and Mini wholegrain biscuits.

What did were your first impression on the product?
The snacks looked appealing and good size for toddlers. The melty twists looked particularly interesting as hadn't seen something similar before. The flapjacks came in a clear pack and looked sticky which put me off a bit.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
The biscuits were a nice texture and crunched up nicely. They didn't go all soggy like some biscuits. My son is a very messy eater at the moment and it was nice to brush up crumbs rather than blobs of soggy mess. He liked the strawberry ones but wouldn't touch the apple for some reason. It was a nice taste and not artificial or overpowering. Quite sweet but had half the sugar content that our normal toddler biscuits for him have.
The melty twists had a texture like toddler crisps but in a long stick type shape. They were nice and crunchy. Reminded me of prawn crackers in terms of consistency! My son seemed to like the taste although I didn't think the flavour was particularly strong.
The flapjacks were far too sticky which is a shame. I stopped making my own flapjacks as they went sticky so was hoping these could be a replacement. My son struggled to chew them and ended up pulling it out of his mouth. It was a nice flavour however - the blackcurrant wasn't 'cough syrupy' like some things I have tried.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
I think all the snacks came in a good size for toddlers. The biscuits were quite small however. I am overly cautious with choking hazards so although I had no issues giving them to my DS who is 2.5 I may have been a bit nervous if he was only 12 months still. There was a good quantity in the pack so my son had half in the morning and the rest later on.
The melty twist was great because you could break bits off (which my son quickly discovered) so if the large size puts them off its easily breakable.
The flapjack was nice and chunky without being too big to fill them up before dinner.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Mickey mouse is always a winner! A few more characters might have been nicer but it wasn't overcrowded which made it easier to read the nutritional information.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
This does depend on price. I have always been skeptical of toddler snacks as I prefer to do my own or just buy adult ones (e.g. my son has normal rice cakes broken up and same with breadsticks).
I'd probably buy the biscuits again purely because they are half the sugar content than the biscotti I currently get him. However he didn't like the apple ones so I'd only get the strawberry.
I would definitely buy the melty twists sometimes instead of the toddler crisps I sometimes get.
Unfortunately I wouldn't get the flapjacks as they are just too sticky and hard for my son to eat. I sometimes buy oat bars by another brand and am likely to stick with these as they are easier to eat.

KoalasAteMyHomework · 09/09/2017 09:51

I forgot to add that my husband was put off by the melty twists only being one big snack until I pointed out it didn't get all crushed up as easily as a bag of crisps in the change bag does!

Caillou · 09/09/2017 10:02

What did were your first impression on the product?

They looked much healthier than some other brands.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

They were a bit too dry for her.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

Just right.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

That they are small individual packs rather than 1 big one, much easier when out and about

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

Yes, we like to try new things

4yearsnosleep · 09/09/2017 10:46

We tested pack one.
What did were your first impression on the product?
The breadsticks looked quite dry and thick. The fruity bakes looked like fig rolls.
What did you/your child think of the taste/texture? She though the tomato flavoured breadsticks tasted odd at first, but then enjoyed them. She loved the Parmesan ones. The fruity bakes were demolished very quickly. She loved them!
What did you like about the format/pack size?
Portion size was great for the breadsticks, but she'd want two of the fruity bakes.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging? The packaging was bright and appealing on the insert.(our samples were just in clear bags)
Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen? I'd buy them when on offer as she enjoyed them and I like to rotate snack options

beautifulsoup · 09/09/2017 12:21

We tested bundle 1, the fruity bakes and the breadsticks.

What were your first impressions on the product?
I thought all of them looked appetising, especially the breadsticks. Much more appealing than the plain ones we usually have

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
My 22 month old absolutely loved the breadsticks. He wolfed the tomato ones (got quite cross when I had a bite) and then the following day ate a whole packet of the parmesan ones. I liked them too, I thought the flavours were quite strong which is a nice change from bland baby food. Unfortunately the fruity bakes weren't a success. It took a lot of persuasion to get him to even try them and every one was rejected after a tiny mouthful.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
The pack size was great, assuming this will be size of the actual product rather than the trial pack. I like that the packets are resealable as they're the sort of thing he eats over a few days, I wouldn't ordinarily let him eat a whole pack in one go.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
The products arrived in plain packaging but with an A4 sheet showing the branded designs. I think they look nice, the green gives the impression that the product is healthy and fresh and they're not too over the top Disney. I like that you can see the product too.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Definitely the breadsticks. It was really nice to have different flavours rather than just plain or sesame. They've tried tomato and spinach before but they've never been a hit so I was surprised as how much he liked them. I also like that they're made with real food rather than artificial flavourings

Demiguise · 09/09/2017 12:21

We tested Bundle 1.

What did were your first impression on the product?

They looked tasty! I showed DD2 the insert with Mickey on, and she was definitely encouraged to try them because of the branding. The size of them was just right for small hands to hold independently.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

She loved all the different flavours of fruity bakes, but she didn't enjoy the breadsticks at all, despite liking breadsticks normally. She told me they made her feel thirsty, and on trying one myself I agreed that they were far too dry.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

The pack size of the fruity bakes was perfect, but I would have preferred the breadsticks to be in two packs for that amount.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

It definitely appeals to toddlers. We don't often buy branded foods, but DD2 was more enthusiastic about trying these because she knew they were 'from Mickey.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

No, probably not. I would buy the fruity bakes if they were on offer, but I wouldn't buy the breadsticks at all.

catcatcatcat · 09/09/2017 12:29

Bundle 1 - breadsticks x2 and fruit bakes

What did were your first impression on the product?

A bit beige - but I guess these types of snacks always are. Like how chunky the breadsticks look, easy for small hands.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
*
Breadsticks. Both taste nice, but dry. Couldn't carry as a snack on their own really, need a dip or something (cream cheese etc) at home.

Fruit bake was well received. Tasted good apparently. *

What did you like about the format/pack size?
*
Breadsticks - like how chunky they are and easy to pick up. Couldn't manage too many on the go though as quite dry.

Fruitbake - I would carry it as a snack in conjunction with fruit or something else. As a standalone snack would be too small for my almost 2yo DD.*

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
*
All of our products were in plain bags unfortunately.*

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

Depending upon the price for the fruit bakes yes. I'm afraid not the breadsticks, only ate 1 at a time as so dry.

Ashhead24 · 09/09/2017 15:04

Bundle 1
What did were your first impression on the product? They looked really good, right size and really tasty.
What did you/your child think of the taste/texture? unfortunately he wasn't that keen. He didn't like the texture of the fruity bites at all and refused to take a second bite. The bread sticks were a little hard, he did like them and enjoyed dipping them in his milk and sucking it off, but he found them too hard to just eat (2 yr old). I liked both though.
What did you like about the format/pack size? Size was about right. Bread sticks were nice and chunky too.
What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging? Ours were in plain packaging, the leaflet with them showed the packaging and it looked ok.
Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen? Probably not. Will try again in a few months as I did really like the bread sticks.

Thanks very much for the opportunity to try.

Haven't received the survey yet but will complete when received.

Lovelilies · 09/09/2017 15:17

What did were your first impression on the product?
Looked fine, apart from the twists which were just in silver plastic with a label on

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Both DC (3 and 14m) liked all of them!

What did you like about the format/pack size?
A lot of little biscuits in the cookie packs

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Not bothered by Disney TBH

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I'd buy if on offer

JessGG · 09/09/2017 15:54

We received bundle 1 - fruity bakes and Italian breadsticks.

What did were your first impression on the product?

Both looked really good. The fruity bakes looked lovely and home baked and the breadsticks very chunky and rustic. Great for little fingers.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

I thought the texture and taste were great. My three sons all enjoyed the fruit bakes but weren't so impressed with the breadsticks which they all left.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

The pack sizes were just right, perfect for a treat on the go.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

Sadly none of our snacks came in Disney packaging but I saw an image of the packaging which looks eye catching, clear and bright.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
No, because the fruit bakes contain sugar and the breadsticks contain salt - both added ingredients that I try to avoid for my little ones. I know it's possible to make toddler snacks that avoid salt and sugar so am a bit disappointed that these don't.

Iwannasnack · 09/09/2017 15:58

We tested the flapjacks, melty twists and biscuits with my 4 year old and 18 month old.

What did were your first impression on the product?
They were both drawn to the bright Mickey Mouse packaging of the biscuits. Looking at the info sheet images I like the branding.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

Biscuits big hit all round they both keep asking for more.
Flapjacks looked appealing but were very sticky. 1 year old was unsure about the stickiness. Tasted them but spat it straight out again. 4 year old ate both flavours and liked them.
Melty twists were odd. Didn't give it to the one year old as they looked too big. 4 year old declared she didn't like the red pepper flavour but ate it all. She did like the broccoli flavour though (which is a high praise from a child who hates vegetables).
I thought the twists were going to be very messy but was pleasantly surprised. 4 year old said she would like me to buy them again.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Portion sizes were about right. I'm not sure how well the melty twists would survive being carted around in my change bag but they may well be stronger than they look.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Bright, clearly labelled, character.

Would you swap your current brand?
Don't have a current brand really but I would definitely consider buying them if the price was competitive as the children liked them and they seemed ok nutritionally.
