Testing Bundle 1

What did were your first impression on the product?

My first impressions of the product was fairly good. I thought all the items looked good and appetising.

I felt the ingredients list for the fruity bakes was a little long, which was off putting.

Nice added vegetarian signs, which was helpful as we are a family of veggies. Unfortunately the cheese bread sticks were not veggie friendly but thanks to Disney for stating this on the packaging, I'm guessing there's animal rennet in the cheese. Anyways I passed the cheese sticks to my friend for her little one.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

My kids love breadsticks and have them often with a pot of dip (usually hummous), they prefer the mini ones like these so the bread sticks were an ideal size. My 2 year old could hold them with ease, they were nice and crunchy, easy to dip and he ate them all which must mean they tasted good. They were handy for out and about, we go the park most mornings with our friends so good for on the go. We passed the cheese bread sticks to my friends toddler and she thoroughly enjoyed them too.

Again the fruity bakes were eaten by my son with no probs. But I thought they were a little small and reminded me of fig bakes.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

It's hard to tell with the samples given as I'm not sure if these are the actual pack sizes or just sample versions, so I'll go with the print out sheet. The packs look good to me, hopefully the packs will be resealable and be individually wrapped inside.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

Clearly a Disney product, it all looks very bright and cheerful. I'm not a brand loyal person though and characters / packaging rarely sways me in my purchases.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

Probably not, no.

My son enjoyed the fruity bakes but I was a little concerned about the huge ingredients list. It's not something I would really buy anyways tbh.

The bread sticks were good but I prob wouldn't purchase them. As mentioned earlier all my kids love mini bread sticks so I just buy a big supermarket own brand box and decant them in tuperware or bento boxes. I can't imagine my 8&14 year old appreciating Disney products in their lunch bags at school (too babyish) so I would have to buy the Disney ones for my toddler in addition to my regulars for the older two, which seems pointless. I would consider buying them as a one off in certain situations, price depending.

We were sent Bundle 1 to review.
What were your first impressions on the product?
I thought that they were the perfect size for BLW and little hands, my little girl was keen to get stuck in and give the products a try.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
My little girl took one bite of the breadsticks and refused to eat any more, I also had a try and found they were extremely hard and also a little stale. However, the fruity bakes were an instant hit, She gobbled them down in a matter of minutes and has requested that we purchase some more! I can't comment on the taste of these ones as I wasn't given the chance, she wanted them all to herself!

What did you like about the format/pack size?
From the fact sheet I do believe that they are the perfect size.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
We didn't actually see the packaging as our products came in clear bags but from the leaflet that came within it I believe that the packaging is perfect for little ones, its bright minimal and with the disney characters on them it will certainly get the little ones interested.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I would certainly purchase the fruity bakes again, they seem like a winner!

We tested bundle 1.

What did were your first impression on the product?

The products look really tasty and have a 'home baked' quality to them which was appealing. The fruity bakes are in individual wrappers which would keep them fresh and make it easier out and about.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

My 3 year old liked the breadsticks which were nicely crunchy without being too hard for little ones to manage. She preferred the tomato ones. I expected the cheese ones to have a stronger Parmesan taste but they were quite bland and I think that's why she preferred the tomato ones.
She loved the mixed berry and strawberry fruit bakes which she wolfed down eagerly! She wasn't as keen on the apple. Interestingly, I loved the apple but it wasn't very sweet (this is why I liked it!) and I wonder whether that's why she wasn't so keen.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

They are a nice size for a toddler- enough to satisfy them without filling them up before a meal.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

Very bright and will be appealing to young children. Mickey Mouse is always a winner in our house and so I'm sure I would be encouraged to buy these in the supermarket!

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

My daughter loved the fruit bakes and I am sure we'll be buying these again yes.

Backhometothenorth · 08/09/2017 13:06

Bundle 1 tester checking in!

What did were your first impression on the product? Look attractive and of generous size
What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?She absolutely loved all the fruit bars (as did I from the cheeky nibbles I had!)- particularly the apple one. They reminded me a bit of the look/ texture of fig roll biscuits. She liked the tomato breadsticks but seemed less struck with the Parmesan. Good crunchy texture.
What did you like about the format/pack size? Great
What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging? Really bright and attractive
Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen? I will look out for the fruit bars

biddybid73 · 08/09/2017 13:18

What did were your first impression on the product?
Looked quite wholesome, with relatively good nutritional values

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Took to the tomato breadstick immediately and seemed to like it. He wasn't so keen on the fruity bakes (although he enjoyed poking the fruit filling with his finger!)

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Size of bread sticks ideal for my toddler (11 months); fruity bakes a little large for him in terms of size to hold and to eat in one sitting

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Our products came in clear packaging so can't comment on this aspect

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Possibly would add these to our repertoire rather than replace any current ones. I like to give DS lots of variety

Amanda89x · 08/09/2017 13:27

we were sent bundle one which 15month old dd tested:
What did were your first impression on the product? Packaging very bright and enticing. I imagine the Mickey Mouse would grab older children's attention.
What did you/your child think of the taste/texture? Dd really enjoyed the fruit bakes, but the breadsticks were very hard and dry
What did you like about the format/pack size? Breadsticks was a good amount in a packet I thought, fruit bakes could be a bit bigger.
What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging? As mentioned above, I liked the brightness and Mickey Mouse character on it. Will there be more characters on other products?
Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen? I would switch to the fruit bakes, but don't think I would buy the breadsticks again

Goldenhandshake · 08/09/2017 13:28

Still waiting to receive ours

chewiecat · 08/09/2017 13:39

What did were your first impression on the product?

The breadsticks looks quite tough but was just the right size for my DS to hold on to. The fruity bakes look like fig rolls

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

Breadsticks were a bit too tough and dry for DS, he didn't really like it.
The fruity bakes were WAY TOO SWEET - I only gave my DS a little bit as I thought it was incredibly sweet.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

Small portion for toddlers

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

We got clear plastic bags?

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

Probably not, didn't like how sweet the bakes were. Maybe for the breadsticks but my DS wasn't such a fan

Ecadia · 08/09/2017 13:52

Placemarking as haven't received mine yet

BingBongBingBong · 08/09/2017 14:03

What did were your first impression on the product?
Packaging is cute and recognisable instantly, the fruity bakes looked delicious, the breadsticks looked chunky and nice.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Both of my kids really liked the fruity bakes. DS (age 3) and DD (age 1) scoffed them!

As for the breadsticks, they weren't keen on them. They hated the tomato flavour ones, they taste a bit weird to me too. The cheese breadsticks they only ate 1 each and decided they wouldn't eat more. I found them to be too crunchy and overly stale tasting, so I didn't like them either. Sorry!

What did you like about the format/pack size?
The pack size was fine.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
The packaging is really cute and it's easy to spot that they're Disney Kitchen so they would stand out on the shelf in the supermarket.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I would buy the fruity bakes again. I wouldn't buy the breadsticks, I'm afraid. I would try other items in the range though, for sure.

Fingermoose · 08/09/2017 14:16

We tested bundle one.

What did were your first impression on the product?
Bread sticks looked nice and big and the fruity bakes like go ahead oaty bakes!

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
The breadsticks weren't a hit, I'm afraid - too big and dry and quite bland tasting. The bakes were a huge hit (we had two apple and one strawberry) and were described as "delicious" by my older child and "more now!" by the younger one.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
I liked the oaty bakes being packed individually.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Ours came in clear plastic bags so I can't comment.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
We'd get the bakes again, depending on price. It's nice to find something everyone likes and that won't melt on long car journeys.

asuwere · 08/09/2017 14:19

Testing bundle 1.
What did were your first impression on the product?
Looked good, quite liked the sizes of each item.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Loved it - it all disappeared quite quickly anyway! I liked them too, the breadsticks are quite crunchy which I would think would work well for a younger child to suck on but equally made them feel a bit more substantial than a normal breadstick for an older toddler.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
The fruity bakes are a nice size for a snack and assuming they would be individually wrapped, would be perfect for chucking in a bag when going out. I liked the size of the breadsticks - chunkier and shorter than a normal breadstick and the pack size seems quite good to last a few days as snacks. Also liked the resealable wipes-like opening I could see on the promotion picture, as again would make it handy for going out.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
It looks good in the picture, although packaging mostly gets thrown out so doesn't really make much difference to me (would be nice if they came in card outers though which are easier to recycle)

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I may buy them if they're on offer - I'm guessing they are more expensive due to the Disney brand so can't guarantee I'd buy them but they were tasty so if at the right price, yes.

Thanks for picking us, DC have enjoyed it!

FlowerTink · 08/09/2017 14:51

We were sent bundle 1 to try :)

What did were your first impression on the product?
They were the perfect size for DD (age 2) to hold, and looked very good, especially the fruity bakes!

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
She struggled with the breadsticks and said they were too crunchy, so that put her off of enjoying them as much. The cheese breadstcks were favoured more than the tomato ones. The fruity bakes were a clear winner, as soon as she'd had one bite she was saying "Mmmm nice!" and has since asked for "more Mickey bars!"

What did you like about the format/pack size?
I liked that the fruity bakes were individually wrapped as I would put these in our bag for snacks on the go when we are out and about, or in her lunch. I'd definitely be interested in a resealable packet for the breadsticks as they would last longer then. I felt the sizes of the snacks were perfect and ideal for a toddler to hold.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Ours came in clear packaging so we weren't able to see the finished product in "real life". However, she loved the leaflet that we were given with it and the fact that Mickey Mouse was on it was a big hit with her, she's now taken to calling the bakes "Mickey Mouse bars!"

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
The breadsticks were a bit too crunchy so wouldn't buy them, though we may re-try them if they were on a deal at the shops. We really liked the fruity bakes, I would definitely buy them regularly!

Thank you for letting us take part!

charliesmumg1 · 08/09/2017 15:33

Unfortunately my samples were in plain packaging apart from the snack biscuits, They were brightly packaged which were very attractive. The packets of biscuits were the perfect size for little mouths, and seemingly tasty. The twists were quite strange in texture, bit like a crisp but quite dry.,but very likeable. The flapjacks were perfect, tasty, right size to put in a lunch box, and tasty. They are all perfect for carrying out of the house in a snack box and for school lunches, but would have loved to have seen the disney packaging as that's what part of the trial was about,so a little let down there

confusedofengland · 08/09/2017 15:59

We received these yesterday & DS have tasted both the breadsticks & the fruit bakes, so I feel equipped to answer the questions!

What did were your first impression on the product? The product seems a good size for toddlers & the proposed packaging is eye-catching & fun (none of ours were in the Disney packaging)

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture? He really enjoyed it, ate everything happily.

What did you like about the format/pack size? It appeals to DC with the characters & is the right size for a lunchbox or snack on the go.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging? Colourful & a character every child will recognise.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen? If it were a good price.

One additional note - the products arrived in a huge box, which was only about a quarter full. I felt this was a dreadful waste & not environmentally friendly.

confusedofengland · 08/09/2017 16:02

Forgot to say that we tried Bundle 1.

AnythingNotEverything · 08/09/2017 16:36

We recieved our pack a couple of days ago (agree about the huge box! Pretty wasteful tbh). We got bundle 2 - breadsticks and fruit bars

What did were your first impression on the product?

They looked fine. Breadsticks we're enough to take out as pre dinners snacks in a restaurant, but smell like dog biscuits. The fruity bars were small, but enoughfor one child I think.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

They wouldn't entertain the breadsticks at all. My youngest (2) thought the tomato ones were sausages so was really disappointed. They both (2 and almost 4) tried the cheesy ones but only had a couple each.

They wolfed down all three flavours of the fruity bars. Big fans. I tried one and was pleased it wasn't super sweet.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

Fruity bars are a bit small. BreAdstick packs probably about right.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

Our snacks were in clear bags but I got a picture of the packaging. It looked eye-catching enough. Could see Mickey on the front and the bright colours.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

We'd definitely try the fruity bars again if they were a comparable price.

AnythingNotEverything · 08/09/2017 16:37

Sorry, we had bundle 1!

Eyre89 · 08/09/2017 16:44

What did were your first impression on the product?

The breadsticks looked quite darkly baked, however my son loved the parmesan ones not as keen on the tomato ones.

He loved the fruity bakes he said they were lovely and jammy. He asked for another straight away.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

He loves breadsticks normally anyways. They were a better texture than mini ones I've bought before. They weren't as hard and solid.

The bakes he said were soft and jammy and he loves them.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

Agree the breadsticks seemed a small size packet if it was one of the packs sent. They would have to be a good price.

Unsure why there would be 4 strawberry fruity bakes in a packet but 6 mixed fruit and 6 Apple, why the difference? Would they be priced differently?

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

None of them were in the packaging but from the a4 sheet it looks appealing to children.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

I would depending on the price.

laurzj82 · 08/09/2017 16:47

We received bundle 1. Finally tried them all.

What did were your first impression on the product?

Shame about the clear packaging. They looked a bit beige to be honest but I guess that means they were not pumped full of additives.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

I was pleasantly surprised that my daughter liked all of them apart from the parmesan breadsticks (which were my favourite!) She especially liked the tomato breadsticks. The fruit bars were really nice with a nice amount of fruit in the middle. My daughter liked both; I slightly prefered the strawberry. A lot of kids snacks can be bland but the breadsticks in particular were actually really tasy!

What did you like about the format/pack size?

Perfect size for toddlers and young children.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

Unfortunately we didn't get to see the packaging as ours were delivered in clear bags.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

100% especially the breadsticks

Baileycakes · 08/09/2017 17:13

My 3 year old tried snack bundle 2

What did were your first impressions on the product?
I thought they all looked good my ds loved they fact they had mickey on the biscuits.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
My ds loved all 3 snacks I thought they looked good although I did think the flapjack was a bit sticky.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
I thought they were all a good size for snacks on the go or putting in a lunch box.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Only the biscuits came in the packaging which was nice and eye catching for young children the packaging looked good in the picture of the other items.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Yes I would although it would depend on the price.

Bez33 · 08/09/2017 17:33

Tested bundle 2.

What did were your first impression on the product?
Like the packaging - as did my toddler, wanted to open them and have a taste straightaway. Looks a good quality product.
What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Multi grain biscuits were a hit (both flavours). Easy to hold/eat. They took a bit of convincing into the flapjack, doesn't look very appealing.
What did you like about the format/pack size?
Good pack/individual sizes for taking out on park trips etc, easy for a toddler to manage alone. Packs have the right amoun in - not too many.
What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Bright colours, looks fun and enticing. Looks good quality.
Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Yes, my toddler has seemed to enjoy them so I wouldn't hesitate to try them again.

EsmeeMerlin · 08/09/2017 17:59

Bundle 2

What did were your first impression on the product?
The biscuits I thought looked good and ds liked the disney design.
The flapjack did not look very appetising on first impression.
The melty twists were a odd shape and reminded me of styrofoam in its texture.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
He liked the taste of all of the snacks which did not surprise me as he does love snacks. However he hated the texture of the flapjack as it was very sticky and he hates feeling sticky hands. He also did not love the melty twist, I tasted it and did think they both tasted quite bland.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Good portion sizes for all 3 snacks.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Only the biscuits came in packaging and ds liked it. Very eye catching.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Honestly no, not unless perhaps I saw the biscuits on deal. Ds did not love the snacks enough that he would ask for them again and I do think other brands have tastier, healthier and better snacks. Ds is also a tad funny about texture and he did not like the texture of the flapjack or the melty twists.

LyndaLaHughes · 08/09/2017 19:37

We tried-
Melty twists
Fruity flapjacks
Mini wholegrain biscuits

What did were your first impression on the product?

The packaging was attractive and eye catching. The Disney theme was appealing to my children. Actual food wise- the biscuits looked appetising but the flapjack did not. Whilst the melty twists looked rather like polystyrene packaging the shape was interesting and my children liked this and were keen to try which was unusual for this style of snack so that is a winning design!

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
They enjoyed the biscuits and the melts twists. Thought the twists were fun to eat and liked the taste. However they hated the feel of the flapjack as it was too sticky. They didn't like the taste much either although my eldest did eat it and she normally will not eat flapjack at all.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Package size is perfect. The biscuits would be very handy if they had a reselling option as these were a favourite for my toddler and he won't eat a whole packet in one go.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

The packaging was bright, attractive and information clear and well laid out.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

The melty twists were a big hit so I will definitely be buying them but not the flapjack. The biscuits would need to be competitively priced as their are other similar products.

Thank you for letting me test. I was pleasantly surprised by what a hit these mostly were with my three fussy children!

LyndaLaHughes · 08/09/2017 19:37

Resealing option that should read sorry! Damn you autocorrect!
