What did were your first impression on the product?
I thought the products looked great. Great size for little hands too!

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
My boys loved them. It's the kind of nibbles they like anyway. They all vanished quickly & no complaints so must be good!

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Good size in pack. Probably more actually in the pack than what it initially seems.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Hard to say as I assume the packaging for supermarket sales will have Disney characters on which kids will love.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
If the price was reasonable then yes without a doubt.

We tested bundle 2 with the melty twists, biscuits and flapjacks with DD (2.5) and DS (7) also tried them. Thank you for the opportunity to try them.

What did were your first impression on the product?
Packaging looks good and inviting, DD recognised Mickey Mouse and this made her very excited. The branding looks good and inviting.
What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Neither children (nor I) liked the melty twists at all. I found the way it was one big shape was quite odd and I expected them to all be separate like most other brands. My daughter really didn't like the taste of these and I thought they were a little salty. My DD wouldn't eat much of the flapjacks saying they were too sticky and I agree. My son loved the flapjacks but said they taste exactly like Jordan's Frusili cereal bars and I agree with that. The biscuits were a big hit with both of my children and both flavours.
What did you like about the format/pack size?
Size of biscuit packet was perfect. The flapjack I think was too big for a 2 year old to have in one go. Half size would be better. Did not like the format of the melty twists, better to be separate crisps.
What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Only the biscuits were sent in their proper packaging and the Mickey Mouse and the bright colours were inviting for young children.
Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I would buy the biscuits if they were a reasonable price. I would not buy the melty twists and I think the flapjacks would need to be less sticky and possibly smaller before I would buy them.

Just received too and the flapjacks and twists did nit come in any packaging either.

3 year old loved the biscuits and was very excited by the Disney packaging.

First impressions were good especially of the biscuits. The flapjacks were also a good size perfect to fit into bag for a day out. We weren't too sure about the twists.

Taste/Texture?
3 year old enjoyed taste and texture of the flapjacks and the biscuits but didn't really enjoy the twist and most of it was left.

Format/size
All products were a good size for dbacjs to take out and about.

Packaging
We liked the Disney packaging and my daughter was excited to try the products I think we would definitely try the biscuits again.

My 2 year old was instantly attracted to the packaging on the biscuits, she loves all things Disney so she was excited to try them. She enjoyed the mini biscuits a lot but there were too many in each pack for her to manage and after a few she seemed to get bored of eating them and left the rest (if only I was the same with biscuits!) I think she would prefer either a smaller portion size or one larger biscuit individually wrapped.

The twist things wet really weird and didn't go down well at all. They were too big for her mouth. I tried my 10 month old with a broken off piece as she loves the Organix Carrot Sticks so I thought she'd like the twists as they seem to be similar in texture, but again she didn't like it so maybe it's just the flavour they didn't like.

My two year old is a flapjack fiend, she's always nicking berries from my mum's garden and she loves Organix Oaty Bars so I thought the flapjacks would be a big hit but she spat out the first bite. They were very greasy and had quite a tangy taste for little ones.

In terms of pack size, I'd say too many biscuits in a pack, flapjacks too small and giant twist things were far too large for a toddler's mouth.

We currently buy a lot of Organix snacks (raisin boxes/Oaty bars/carrot sticks) and I'm not sure I'd swap to the Disney ones. I might buy the biscuits again if my DD asked for them but I doubt she would.

I received bundle 2. Tested by DD, I also tried the abandoned melty twists

What did were your first impression on the product?
Handy portion sizes, flavours sounded very nice especially the melty twists.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
The flapjacks and biscuits were both enjoyed – my DD preferred the strawberry and vanilla biscuits to the apple ones but liked both flapjacks equally. The melty twists she didn’t like either flavour, although I tried them and thought they were nice but the flavour very mild (DD prefers stronger flavours usually) and the seasoning was quite patchy so some bits had no flavour.

Texture wise, the flapjacks were very sticky which makes it less convenient for when out and about. The twists had a slightly odd texture – almost squeaky against my teeth when I tried them, which I didn’t like

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Flapjacks and biscuits both a good size to pop in the bag for a snack. The melty twists were not great – they would have been easier if they were separate curls like crisps not one long one – I ended up breaking it into bits in a bowl but it crumbled quite a bit doing this

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Design consistent across the range so easy to spot them, flavours differentiated by colour too. DD liked that it was Mickey Mouse.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I don’t really have a brand for biscuits but would probably buy them if on offer or planning to travel, but not all the time. DD loves flapjacks so depending on price I might swap or alternate with other brands oat/cereal bars that we buy. I wouldn’t buy the melty twists.

What did were your first impression on the product?
Eye catching bright packaging & my son instantly recognised Mickey and the packet contained biscuits. The other items were not in branded packaging but the products looked nice. I had a little try of everything & it was all nice. However, I did think the strawberry biscuits were too sweet

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
My DS enjoyed all of the products, especially the flapjacks which he keeps asking me to buy. Flapjacks a little too sticky.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
I thought the packets were just the right size & DS was satisfied. The individual packets are brilliant for when out & about

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Bright & eye catching to attract the children & instantly recognised Mickey

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I'd buy the biscuits & flapjacks as treats if the price was right as I tend to buy what is on offer. I'd probably by the melts instead of my usual brand of Childrens savoury snacks as less messy

Tested by my fussy 2 year old boy, and myself...

  1. What were your first impressions on the product?
Twists - didn't look how I expected, but first thought was how they looked tasty.
Flapjacks - looked yummy, and smelt great.
Biscuits - bright colourful packet, and my little boy was drawn to them straight away.

  2. What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Twists - thought they'd have more flavour, and my little boy wasn't much interested after the first initial lick of it.
Flapjacks - my little boy has a few sensory issues with food, and found that it was too sticky that he wasn't willing to pick it up and try it.
Biscuits - little boy enjoyed the biscuits, but wasn't so willing to give up his usual biscuits in exchange.

  3. What did you like about the format/pack size?
All were a good size. The flapjacks and twists were not in a typical snack pack type packet, but the pack of biscuits looked very appealing re design.

  4. What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
As above. Biscuit packs were lovey and colourful.

  5. Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I don't think I would swap completely, but may alternate.

Firstly, I was given bundle 1.

What were your first impressions on the product?

They looked like a good size for toddlers and the proposed packaging was attractive.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

My ds didn't like the fruit baked but I presume that is because he is used the the very sugary adult fruit b akes, if I had seen these when he was younger then i m sure he would have loved them (I thought they were quite nice).
He really enjoyed the breadsticks, you get a lot in a packet so he is eating them over a few days and even though they have been open they are staying crunchy.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Pack Size was just right for fruity baked but a bit big for the breadsticks.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
It is colourful and attractive.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Yes definitely for the breadsticks

What did were your first impression on the product?
Ours weren't in the packaging but we had a picture of the packaging that came with it and it was very bright and cheerful looking. Our breadsticks came in clear bags and my first impression was that they didn't look that appetising! The fruity bakes were very small, my one year old would want two at a time I think but maybe that's just him!

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
My ds loved the breadsticks, both flavours equally. He also loved the fruity bakes but they were quite crumbly and messy from my point of view! My dd didn't like the tomato breadsticks at all but she did like the parmesan ones. She hasn't tried the fruity bakes, wasn't too keen really.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
The fruity bakes are a bit small I think. The breadsticks are a great pack size, nice little snack for between meals and for keeping ds happy in his buggy!

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Ours didn't come in the packaging so it was hard to tell just from the pictures we were sent, it did look colourful though.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
It depends on the price, usually I find branded things like this too expensive but I would certainly buy them if they were on offer or at a good price compared to other snacks. I buy quite a lot of products like this and I'm not really loyal to one brand I just go for what's on offer and what my children like the best. If the breadsticks were a good price I'm fairly certain I'd buy them.

Bundle 1

What did were your first impression on the product?
Ours were all in clear packaging so I could see the products straight away. Looked good quality and my children (2&4) were very keen to try them.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
My youngest loved snacking on the breadsticks and they both loved the fruity bakes. Very similar to the Annabel Karmel ones we used to buy, but haven't seen in the shops lately!

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Fine. I like that the fruity bakes are individually wrapped.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
My children both liked the Mickey Mouse picture. Quite eye-catching.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Yes, would definitely buy them if the price was good value.

Thanks for letting us try these snacks.

We had bundle 1

What did were your first impression on the product?
Packs of breadsticks a good portion size. Looked quite ‘rustic’. Good size pieces for my 2.5 yo to hold and munch on.

The fruity bakes looked good. A nice small-ish size so not too much for him. Looked a lot like a small nutri-grain bar (if I’m allowed to say that...)

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
He loved them! Particularly the tomato breadsticks. He’s only 2.5 so hard to get him to describe. But I asked him about both the breadsticks and the fruity bakes and he said both were “deeeeelicious”

He said the breadsticks were ‘crunchy’. This didn’t appear to be a criticism. Only a comment.

The only thing I was able to get a taste of was the cheese breadsticks. I didn’t think it tasted of cheese at all really. Only as a very mild aftertaste. I felt they were a little bland.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
I thought both items were good pack sizes. I thought they were well-sized individual potions.

One pack of breadsticks was enough to keep him quiet all the way round Sainsbury’s :)

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
NA. Ours were received in clear, unbranded packaging.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

Why not! He seemed to like them. Especially the fruity bakes.

We tried the breadsticks and the fruity bakes.

First impressions weren't great as they were not in the proper packaging. Though we received pictures of what the packaging will look like and that looks very eye catching.
The fruity bakes looked small and I had expected more than 3. The breadsticks looked dry and hard.

Both my not quite 2 year old and 4 year old loved the Parmesan breadsticks. They demolished both packets pretty quickly. I found them dry but the kids didn't seem to think so. They liked the cheese flavour which surprised me as I thought Parmesan might have been too strong. Just goes to show what I know!
The tomato ones haven't been tried yet. They are tomorrow's snack. Neither of my children like tomato as a rule so it will be interesting to see what they make of these.
The fruity bakes were a big hit and they argued over who got the third one. These are a good little snack to carry around. Not too messy which is always a bonus!

The breadstick packets sizes were just right. I'm not sure how many fruity bakes you would get in a packet. My kids could easily eat 3 or 4 each at a sitting if given the chance.

I will definitely buy the breadsticks again. They will make a great afterschool snack for my 4 year old.

Bundle 2

What did were your first impression on the product?

Good.
All 3 products looked appealing, and the packaging caught my eye.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

My 2 year old loved all 3 products and after a try of each in her bowl told me they were 'nice' (which must be a good thing as she doesn't normally comment on her snacks!)
My 4 year old didn't like the taste of the strawberry & vanilla biscuits or the melty twists. But she did eat some of the flap jack, and said she liked it.
I thought the flapjack was tasty but quite sticky and chewy for a small child.
I thought the melty twists and the mini biscuits were a bit bland, I could taste the flavours but only slightly. Good for little ones who are getting used to textures and flavours though.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

Pack size of the mini biscuits was just right for a toddler snack.
Flapjack good size too, not too big not too small.
Melty twist was a bit difficult to eat as it was one whole twist.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

Nice and bright, both my girls liked the Mickey Mouse on the front, very appealing to the eye.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

I don't use a specific brand but would be happy to try the Disney Kitchen brand again especially for my youngest who loved them all.

We received bundle one.

What did were your first impression on the product? The products arrived in clear packaging.
The breadsticks and fruit bakes looked tasty and the right size for a child's snack.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
The whole family enjoyed the breadsticks. They tasted wholesome and texture was crunchy but not too tough. Only my DS tasted the bakes but he seemed to enjoy them as they were all gone pretty quickly!

What did you like about the format/pack size? I would say the bakes were a good size for a quick snack. The packet of breadsticks may be dipped into on a few occasions (for little ones anyway).

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging? Ours were in clear bags so my DS didn't even register the Disney connection. On the leaflet we received with the product the packs look eye catching and definitely Disney.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen? If the price was right I probably would. The snacks were a big hit and tasted more nutritious than some of the other brands out there.

What did were your first impression on the product?

They looked fun, and I felt the Disney branding fitted in well with existing Annabel Karmel branding too. However, upon reading the ingredients they seemed very sugary and processed, so would see them as an occasional treat rather than a regular snack.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Mini Wholegrain Biscuits - my one year old liked these, which I was quite surprised at as they don't usually enjoy drier snacks much. They ate the whole packet.
Melty Twists - LO was as keen on these as most of our usual toddler crisps - liked them but wasn't clambering to eat the whole thing. The shape was a bit awkward for a one year old. I broke bits off to give to them when we were out and about, or we would have ended up in a lot of mess I suspect!
Fruity flapjacks - These were very sticky, a bit like Frusli bars used to be. LO didn't like it, too chewy for them.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
They were all a good size for a toddler snack.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
It was bright and colourful, though only the biscuits were in the Disney packaging rather than generic clear/white packaging.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
No - the flapjacks had 22g of sugar per 100g and the biscuits were also quite high (10-11g), the ingredients list was long and contained several different types of sugar (e.g. Both honey and 'invert sugar syrup'). Because of this, I wouldn't buy them regularly - prefer lower sugar options day to day. May give the biscuits as an occasional treat Smile

Got ours on Friday:

What did were your first impression on the product?
We are actually familiar with this product - or at least the old version. My first impression is that they look 'healthier' than the current fruity bakes and breadsticks. The breadsticks look more substantial and more like 'real' food.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Daughter continues to love the fruity bakes. I've bought her kid breadsticks before and she hasn't been too impressed but she liked these, the cheesy ones in particular. Her and her older brother nearly had a fight over them.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Decent amount of breadsticks to eat but not so much they'll go stale before they can all be eaten. Fruity cake portion is just right for a snack. Pack size means it should hopefully last a week inbetween shops.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Bright and colourful. My daughter calls them 'Mickey Mouse fruitcakes'.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I will keep on buying them/buy more than at current levels. We always buy the fruitbakes and now I will get the breadsticks too.

Thank you for letting us trial these products, we tried bundle 2.

What did were your first impression on the product?
Good, the packaging which we got was fun and engaging. Both DC saw and instantly asked to try. The flapjacks looked lovely and high hopes were set!

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
To be honest, this is where we had a let down.
The biscuits were picked at but neither DD (4) or DS (2.6) are more than 3 each, both handed me the packets back of both flavours qiite quickly.
The empty twists went down well with DD, she ate the lot. DS wasn't impressed and crushed it up Hmm .The only problem with these is when crushed (thanks DS) they make such a mess.
Now the flapjack i had great hopes for, looked nice and moist and a good size. Perfect on the go snack. Neither DC liked them! Too chewy and too sweet!

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Pack sizes were good and ideal for an on the go snack chucked into a bag.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
I liked it, looks fun and definately caught the kids eye when it arrived.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

I'm afraid not. I really thought the kids would like these and hoped they might be a good option to sling in my bag, but my fussy pair obviously feel differently.

Bundle 2

What did were your first impression on the product? Nice packaging on the ones that had official wrapping. My 3 year old daughter immediately wanted some biscuits 'the green ones mummy'.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture? The flapjacks were too sticky for either of mine. They wouldn't even try them. The biscuits and melts twists were much more successful and all of those were eaten!

What did you like about the format/pack size? Good sizes.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging? Stands out from other brands. My two aren't into Disney though so it didn't make any difference that there was Mickey Mouse on the wrapper

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen? We already have the fruit bakes. I would definitely get the melty twists again.

We tried snack bundle 2.

What did were your first impression on the product?
I was impressed with how much came in a packet as I prefer to buy things that have longevity. I thought they looked great.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
She loved everything apart from the broccoli twists - loved the tomato ones though. She demolished the flapjack (never does this) and the tomato twist. The apple biscuits were a hit, the strawberry ones were too, although she definitely preferred the apple ones which were gone in moments, whereas the strawberry took about an hour to finish each time. My only reservation about any of it were the twists which had the wrong composition. At 1yo my daughter could not work out how to eat them. She tried biting but it's too hard as one piece. She tried breaking it up but because they're so sturdy she needed to use all very strength, which resulted in it exploding everywhere! I think it would make more sense for them to be presented as crisps, eg quavers.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Great quantity of food which I always go for as it reduces trips to the shop.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Bright and colourful and very appealing.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I have never bought baby snacks before as I just give the children what we eat, so there's not really anything to swap. I did like the convenience though and will be buying these sorts of things again for trips out, although possibly not the twists as they can't be eaten on the move.

What did were your first impression on the product?

No actual packaging but the snacks looked good and natural and a great size. Although my son couldn't eat the breadsticks as they are not suitable for vegetarians! More and more children are being brought up veggie now so I am quite disappointed by this.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

The breadsticks would have been the perfect size as I usually buy adult ones and break them in half but then I end up with stale halves in the packet etc. My son did however absolutely wolf the fruity bake and then demand another one!

What did you like about the format/pack size?

The fruity bakes were perfect for that quick snack when my son is hungry awaiting a big meal or just for an after food dessert type filler. The breadsticks if my son could eat them would be perfect if they came wrapped as 3 sticks say so once opened thats enough to eat in one go without the rest going stale.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

There wasn't any actual packaging but the print off looked colourful and pleasing to the eye of a toddler!

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

I would definitely buy the fruit bakes

The breadsticks looked a bit chunky, the fruity bakes looked ok but a little small

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
He liked them, he enjoyed dipping his breadsticks in soup. Fruity bakes were a bit crumbly though.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Ours came in clear plastic wrapping so can’t really judge. The pictures on the leaflet looked nice and colourful.

We had bundle 1.

What did were your first impression on the product?

I thought that the breadsticks looked very appetising. Much nicer than the plain ones I usually buy for the children. The fruity bakes looked appealing too.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

My 3 year old thought the breadsticks were too hard, but I didn't think they were at all! They were very tasty. I didn't try one of the fruity bakes but they went down very well with my son.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

The fruity bakes are a nice sized snack individually. I would tend to have a pack of the breadsticks open in the cupboard and give out one or two at a time for snacks.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

None of the items were in Disney packaging. This would certainly have appealed to my son though.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

At the right price I would.

What did were your first impression on the product?

The fruity bakes looks a good size and smelled lovely as did the breadsticks.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

They wernt fans of the breadsticks. The tomato ones had a staleish texture and the flavour, although tomato, tasted quote artificial. They loved the flavour of the Parmesan ones and they were a bit more crunchy and delicious dipped in garlic dip (as me and my dh found out when we sneaked a packet one night). The apple fruit bakes were very tasty. My boys have begged for them again

What did you like about the format/pack size?

The fruity bakes are a good size to pop in packed lunches. Agree with above poster that i tend to have a pack of the breadsticks open and give out a few at a time.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
