They looked nice in the plain packaging.

My son, 4,didn't like them unfortunately and would eat a bit of each but not finish them off.

We didn't receive any in Disney packaging

I don't think we would buy them again as they weren't finished off. We received the bread bites and the fruity bakes

What did were your first impression on the product?
The kids were all excited to get the bundle and wanted to try with their toddler brother- the packaging was bright and appealing and the choices were good.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
My two year old liked everything and he can sometimes be fussy over things like oaty biscuits and the older ones liked the biscuits too.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
I thought the size was ideal

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
It was bright and appealing. My son liked Mickey Mouse being on there

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Yes I think so, because the portion size was sensible my son could have a whole bag which he likes because he enjoys the independence of sitting and eating them nicely from the packaging!

Thanks for letting us be involved

Fruity bakes and Italian bread sticks.
Snacks arrived in clear plastic bags.
First impressions? Looked good, and appealing to my toddler.
Fruit bakes: he loved these! Soft texture and easy for him to hold. These were devoured instantly.
Bread sticks: incredibly hard!! He really didn't like these. We tried them ourselves and found them hard and stale tasting.
Although he enjoyed the fruit bakes I won't be rushing to buy the breadsticks anytime soon

What did were your first impression on the product?

We tested bundle 2. Initially some looked quite plain and the packaging on biscuits were very bright. This gave us the impression that it wasn't very healthy, and that it may be full of artificial colourings.

The melty twists were very different looking and impressive! The flapjacks were extremely sticky and I wouldn't use that as a snack to take out and about.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

Being 13 months, she couldn't tell us, but she didn't seem to like the stickiness of the flapjacks. She did like the biscuits and twists though as it was easy for her to hold and eat.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

The flapjacks seemed very small, the twists were a good size and the biscuits were also a good pack size.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

The twists were in plain packaging so it was hard to judge those. The biscuits packs were very bright and that was off putting for us as parents. The flapjacks were also in plain packaging so again, hard to judge.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

Yes we would, I was impressed overall with the products, as long as the price was right.

We tested Bundle 1 and my daughter is 22 months old.

  1. Yes the products inside looked good. The breadsticks were chunky and not pale in colour. The tomato one looked especially good. The fruit bars looked a little small i think and quite hard in texture.

  1. My daughter like the cheese breadstick but not tomato one. She also didnt like the fruity bakes any of them..

  1. I think the breadsticks were a great size and thickness so they were great and you get a load in the packet. I think the fruity bakes were quite small and are they all individually wrapped? I think this would be annoying.

  1. I think it is a bit cheap looking. There was on,y padkaging on the outside and inside was just plain plastic. There is nothing on the actual food to suggest disney too.

  1. I wouldnt swap but might make an addition now and again

What did were your first impression on the product?
We thought they we brightly coloured and she wanted to try them straight away.
What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
We loved the melty twists but all three of my kids tried the biscuits but they didn't go down well at all. The flapjacks went down ok but I don't think we'd buy them again.
What did you like about the format/pack size?
They all came in a good size for the kids.
What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Bright and colourful although I do wonder if the price would be dearer because of branding.
Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
We'd definitely but the melty twists again but probably not the others.

BUNDLE 2
Thank you for our samples! We had fun trying them out and enjoyed the overall products but I am trying to be as honest as possible in this review:

Initial thoughts upon receiving:
I thought the packaging was nice, bright and colourful.
The mini wholegrain biscuits themselves seemed a little small and boring (small & round - better if Micky shaped perhaps?)

The Fruity flapjacks seemed to be in a sample wrapper and perhaps sample size - hard to say if this is true without seeing the product wrapping.

The Melty twists were a bit odd - was expecting more than one per packet! So strange size and texture for us!

My DD (18months) didn't like the flapack, she handed it back. It was very sticky and too sweet - I also struggled when I tasted it - and I have a sweet tooth! They felt super bad and like junk food opposed to a nice healthy oaty flapjack.

My DD loved the biscuits and polished them off quickly - (as did the dogs when she shared them with them & they are very picky!)
I felt the biscuits were a bit boring to look at (small and round)... just a little let down after opening the colourful packaging!

I had to try to break up the twists as they were just too big to give as a snack as the size they were. I felt disappointed with these as from the description I was expecting more than just an "over grown crisp" in a weird shape - the taste wasn't anything to shout about either although these were the ones I was looking forward to the most (flavour wise) when the sample 1st arrived.

I have to say after trying the samples I don't think I would swap other brands for these. They are OK but I feel the product didn't live up to the packaging design in taste or size. I would also like to see something far less sweet and more healthy - they description makes you think its healthy but the taste says otherwise!

Thanks

What did were your first impression on the product?
Not great - no official packaging so just a sea of plastic and beige in a battered box.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Too dry.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
The fruity bars seem quite small but are quite sweet. The breadsticks are individually a good size for a toddler. If the bags are indicative of actual packaging, that would be too much.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
The snacks were all in plain plastic packaging. The branded insert was bright but I'd be less inclined to buy Disney branded food because I'd assume it was synthetic, and I don't think my toddler needs anymore branding or marketing in her tiny life!

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Probably not.

My son is 2. We tested bundle 1.

What did were your first impression on the product?
It looked like breadsticks with colours - probably vegetables, and fig roll type things.

My son's first impression was that he enjoyed the tomato breadsticks, and told me they were tomato. He tried but didn't like the fruity bake in Strawberry flavour, and his 5 year old brother gobbled the other 2 flavours very enthusiastically (which is unusual as he isn't normally one for fruity cake products).

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

He enjoyed the breadsticks. I have put these in his packed lunches since that first tasting and he has eaten them without issue. He likes to dip breadsticks and these have a good texture and will last under the pressure from wet dip.

He did not enjoy the fruity bakes, which was a surprise since he loves fruit of all kinds and it's often difficult to get him to eat other things. I tried calling it cake, then Mickey Mouse cake, but he still didn't fancy it.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

I think, depending on price point, there are good number of breadsticks in the packet. If there is only one fruity bake per pack, even if the price was really low, like 20p, I don't think I'd buy those. Also, if they're individually wrapped, I wouldn't buy them again.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

I don't think it's changed from the Disney Kitchen products available under the Annabel Karmel range at the moment? The disappointing thing about the packaging is that it doesn't carry through to the food. Once out of the packaging there is nothing at all to indicate that it's Disney, Mickey Mouse, or anything like that.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

Not unless there was a really good promotion.

Not everything came in packaging, the apple biscuits package I thought was bland looking. The twists were different looking but my daughter liked that.
My daughter liked the broccoli cheese twist but wasn't keen on anything else.
The products were all a good size portion.
As only the biscuits came in branded packets I can't comment on the others. I found the packaging boring and bland. The boxes on the ad look more appealing.

I wouldn't swap for anything my daughter currently has.

What did were your first impression on the product?
Child friendly and reasonably wide range of products.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Apple and Strawberry biscuits went down well with the kids- they looked a bit like mini rusks. The twists were a resounding failure- they wouldn't even taste the

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Biscuits were a nice size. Flapjack seemed very small.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Bright and branded- my son spotted the Disney logo from a mile off.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Only for the biscuits. I'm not a great fan of "baby" products as they are often expensive.

What did were your first impression on the product? The boys wanted the "biscuits" upon seeing them. I.e the fruity bakes.
What did you/your child think of the taste/texture? They loved the fruity bakes, they pasted a few seconds. Less bothered about the breadsticks, but I think they're probably just bored of breadsticks now they know that more exciting food exists!
What did you like about the format/pack size? Seemed about right.
What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging? Bright and colourful, visually appealing.
Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Possibly, if on offer.

What did were your first impression on the product?

The products looked very appealing, the packaging was bright and attractive.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

The flapjacks were a massive hit with us and would definitely be something we would try again.
The melty twists however were not something our little ones enjoyed . They really weren't attractive and the texture seemed all wrong.
The wholegrain biscuits were ok but not something I would purchase.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

The pack sizes were appropriate although the melt twists were a strange size.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

We all thought the packaging was bright and appealing and would definitely stand out on the supermarket shelf.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

I would definitely swap the flapjacks and possibly the biscuits but not the melt twists.

What did were your first impression on the product?

I like the packaging. I'd previously seen the Annabel Karmel Disney range in Poundland but could never find it anywhere else.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

Both my children loved the strawberry biscuits. My son didn't like the apple ones. Flapjacks and melts were also a hit.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

Good sized portions and easy to pop in my handbag for snack emergencies.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

Bright and colourful

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

Yes, for sure.

Bundle 1 Feedback:

What were your first impression on the product?
The breadsticks looked rustic and appealing, the pack size was a little large but they would be good for sharing. The fruit bakes looked fab. They were a good size and colour.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
The fruity bakes went down a storm. My daughter loved the taste and they were full of filling which is quite rare for something like this. They held together well and they were not as messy as I thought they would be.
The breadsticks were very hard and my little girl didn't like the parmesan flavoured ones at all. The tomato ones went down a little better, but I had to break them into pieces or otherwise, she left them completely.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
The pouches of breadsticks seemed a little on the large size. 4 or 5 would be more than enough for a snack. it would be handy if the packaging was resealable too.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
The snacks arrived in clear packaging but the leaflet that came with them looked fab. I assume this is going to be the packaging, in which case it is eye-catching and appealing. The Disney isn't too in-your-face and I would have expected it to stand out a little more if I'm honest.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Yes. I would definitely buy the fruity bakes again and as the products don't include preservatives or non-natural ingredients I would be likely to try the rest of the range too.

First impressions: the packaging looks colourful but I tend to avoid Annabelle karmel products as I know they add sugar to their snacks whereas other brands don't. I tend to go for the brands that don't add sugar rather than having to read through all the ingredients to find one that is suitable.

Fast/texture: I liked the twisty melt, it's chunky and easy to hold and doesn't make a mess. The biscuits were good too but the flapjack bar was too sticky and far too much sugar in it.

Pack size: seemed ok

Disney packaging: gimmicky and makes it look cheap, not needed.

Would I swap?: Due to added sugars, and gimmicky branding I would only get these as a treat if they were on special offer, not as a regular purchase.

What did were your first impression on the product?
Looked good! Breadsticks were sturdy so wouldn't crumble in a bag.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
He loved the fruity bites - as did I. Didn't like the breadsticks. However this may just be personal taste.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Perfect for snacking. Good size. Resealable would be good too.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Fun and colourful by obvs we only saw a print out not the real thing . Easy to see what you get.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

Snack Bundle 1 feedback.
What did were your first impression of product?
The Fruity Bakes looked inviting, the breadsticks looked chunky and a good shape and size for a toddler to hold. I was a bit wary that the breadsticks seemed rock hard.
What did you/child think of taste/texture?
We both loved all flavours of the Fruity Bakes. They were tasty and a nice texture not to hard, not to soft. I didn't like the breadsticks. Toddler however loved the Tomato ones but wouldn't eat the cheese ones(labelled Parmesan).
What did you like about pack size?
If this means size of snacks they were just the ideal size for a toddler snack, in between meals, or to keep them going. My samples didn't come in the packs so can't comment on anything else.
What did you like about Disney Kitchen packaging?
Mine didn't come in the packaging so can't really comment. From the pictures it looks attractive and contents etc clear on the front.
Would you swap from usual brand?
Yes I would use them again but I don't stick to one brand, I buy the ones on special offer, as long as they are free from etc.

  1. Kids loved Disney packaging. Nice and eye catching for children but also informative for adults.
  2. My kids really liked the fruity bakes but weren't as keen on the bread sticks. I thought they might be a handy size for snacking for smaller kids rather than the oversized ones for adults. They weren't as salty as well.
  3. Like I said I thought they size of the snacks was good for little kids.
  4. Nice packaging as previously mentioned.
  5. I would swap to the fruity bakes as they were nice. I would buy the bread sticks occasionally for a change.

Thanks very much for letting us try these products.

We tested Bundle 1.

What did were your first impression on the product?
Looks a good size, easy to hold on to for their little hands.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Loved the breadsticks, but wasn't massively keen on the fruity bakes (my 7 year old loved them though!)

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Unsure if one bag of breadsticks is the whole pack size, but it's a good amount to have for a snack whilst out. The fruity bakes were individually wrapped so unsure if they are just one to a pack?

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
There was no Disney packaging, everything was in clear plastic which was disappointing.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Highly dependant on whether they are competitively priced.

What did were your first impression on the product?
Biscuits looked inviting, flapjacks small looking, the melty twists looked an odd shape for a small child's hand.
What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
4 year old loved the biscuits, crunchy and tasty. 14 month old loved the melty twists. Neither were keen on the flapjack only ate half between them.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Biscuit pack size perfect. Texture and flavour of the melty twists great but too wide for a baby /toddler to manage. Bits went everywhere when she tried to eat it herself. Needs to be thinner. Flapjack too sweet and sticky.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Eye catching for children. Showcases the natural flavourings

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Probably not as the baby can't eat the biscuits due to milk allergy, wasn't keen on the flapjack and the twists were an awkward shape.
