This is the feedback thread for the MN testers who are trying out Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes this summer.

Sani Hands say “with increased public awareness of the importance of hand hygiene and the transfer of germs, people now more than ever want to minimise the risk of picking up germs and bacteria. Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes kill 99.99% of bacteria and germs in seconds, and keep hands protected for up to 6 hours. With 80% of communicable diseases transferred by touch, most bacteria on our hands is on the fingertips and under our nails. Sani Hands anti-bacterial wipes are proven to be the most effective and hygienic alternative to soap and water.

They are perfect for busy days with the children, and are also popular with commuters, holiday makers and office workers. The unique textured surface improves dirt removal while the added moisturisers make them gentle on your hands.”

Testers were sent a pack of Sani Hands Antibacterial Hand Wipes, each handy sized pack containing 12 wipes. The RRP is £1.20.

Sani Hands are available to buy from Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda and Waitrose stores and further information can be found here

  • Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different?

  • What did think about the fragrance?
  • What did you think about the after feel?
  • What did you think of the packaging?

Tester

1. Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
We Used them on our Travels over the Bank holiday weekend (Beach/Park/Walks)
2. What did you think of the packaging?
The Packaging was a Nice size, had a resealable lid, very handy to pop in pocket, bag or under the Pram!
3. What about the fragrance? And texture of the wipe? And size?
Had a nice refreshing fragrance, not too overpowering, the texture of the wipe was a bit rough, but my Kids (8yo & 1yo) didn't complain! The size was adequate size for mine & my children's hands!
4. Do you think you’d you buy them again?
Yes I think I would purchase again, we normally use the handgel, but hard to use on babies hands. So this is Perfect for on the go!
5. What sort of situations do you think the handy sized pack was handy for?!
When we are out & about, & then stop somewhere for food, after using the toilet out & about; and for my hands after my 1 yo needs a nappy change!

Yes definatley , kills germs and are so handy to have, have the reassurance to know we have clean hands and are mostly germfree when we need to be!

  1. Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
We took a trip to the beach and found them very handy for the moments where ice-creams were met with sandy hands, we simply whipped out the bag of wipes and got rid of the sand in a breeze.
  1. What did you think of the packaging?
I found the packaging very appealing, it wasn't busy it was simple but a nice simple, I loved how small the packaging is as I am used to carrying a pack of wet wipes around with me which as you know are extremely bulky, these however took litlte space up in my bag - Cheers all around!
  1. What about the fragrance? And texture of the wipe? And size?
The first thing I noticed about them was their smell, I cannot pin point what they smell like but it is certainly an appealing smell. I was surprised by the texture as one size has these circles that aren't rough but aren't smooth and they're the perfect addition to hand wipes for the beach as they take every last bit of sand and dirt away! they are your standard wipe size but the packaging is so much smaller which I am totally in love with!
  1. Do you think you’d you buy them again?
These will definitely be used again, I have already told my other half that there will always be a packet in my bag now as they are seriously handy! They take up next to no room and are always needed right? The price is perfect too!
  1. What sort of situations do you think the handy sized pack was handy for?!
I'd say these were handy for days out and really just keeping in your bag for those unexpected messy moments - we all have them!
  1. Would you recommend them to other parents?
I certainly recommend these to every parent out there who like me hates carrying around the bulky wet wipes in their bags, why carry them about when there is a product out there that takes up less room yet works better? It doesn't make sense!

  1. Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
I used the wipes after taking my son to the park/soft-play/out a walk with the dogs/ during client visits at work.
  1. What did you think of the packaging?
It was bold and easy to find in a large bag which.
  1. What about the fragrance? I thought they smelt lovely, much better than antibacterial gel.

And texture of the wipe? I loved the textured side although my son didn't, he said it was too rough for him. The texture side made it so much easier to get small bits of mud off.

And size? Great size for a wipe, I didn't expect them to be so big.

  1. Do you think you’d you buy them again? Yes
  1. What sort of situations do you think the handy sized pack was handy for?! In between clients at work, handy to have in the car to wipe down after a day out, after trips to the park, soft play, any occasion, emergency outdoor pee to wipe hands with after and after picking up a dog poo out on a walk.
  1. Would you recommend them to other parents? Yes I would as these wipes didn't irritate my sensitive skin or my sons unlike the gels.

soap and water really is the best, however, these wipes are very handy when out and about and washing facilities are not available. I would definitely buy these again, I really loved the product and are better than competitors on the market.

sharond101 · 29/08/2017 11:19

We used these on a family day out. I liked how compact these were and they resealed well. They smelled clean and fresh which was nice. They were just big enough although I would have liked them softer. I'd buy these again for using on the go instead of hand held as they took away dirt rather than just move it around like gels do. I'd also recommend them to friends.

mermaidsandunicorns · 29/08/2017 11:24

Hi thanks for choosing us to test out these wipes

1. Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
I kept them in my handbag and used them whilst we were out with friends

2. What did you think of the packaging?

I have to say I wasn't keen on the packaging although the 6 hour protection was appealing. It looked generic and wouldn't have stood out to me on the shelf

3. What about the fragrance? And texture of the wipe? And size?

The smell was very chemically I did like the texture of the wipe tho but the pack size wasn't great. I tend to buy a large pack of baby wipes and hand sanitizer for this sort of thing.

4. Do you think you’d you buy them again?
I don't think I would buy these again sorry

5. What sort of situations do you think the handy sized pack was handy for?!

We had a sticky ice pole situation whilst we were out with friends and they came in handy

6. Would you recommend them to other parents?

I don't think I would recommend these. I felt the branding wasn't strong and the pack size was very small. I was not keen on the the smell. So it's a no from us sorry

  1. Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
After a family fishing trip, and after dog walks
  1. What did you think of the packaging?
Packaging was fine, easy to open packet
  1. What about the fragrance? And texture of the wipe? And size?
Fragrance was pleasant, texture of wipe was much rougher than wipes I have used before. Size was ok.
  1. Do you think you’d you buy them again?
Yes
  1. What sort of situations do you think the handy sized pack was handy for?!
Out and about - which is often when hands etc get grubby
  1. Would you recommend them to other parents?
Yes. The difference between these and other wipes I have used before is that the rough side removed dirt effectively. Lots of wipes "sanitise" but aren't good at shifting mud or whatever. So I would recommend these for occasions when family members get grubby.

  1. Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
We used the wipes on days out, in the car and on public transport.
  1. What did you think of the packaging?
The packaging was good - it was a useful size for popping in my bag, and the resealable sticker stayed sticky until the wipes were finished.
  1. What about the fragrance? And texture of the wipe? And size?
The fragrance was pleasant - clean smelling and not too strong. I used the wipes, as did DH, DS1 (9) and DS2 (4) and the size of the wipes was just right for big and little hands. I think the best selling point of these wipes is the texture - one side is soft, and the other side is rougher in texture. The rougher side is ideal to remove stubborn mud or anything really sticky, and you can then use the soft side to wipe away any remaining smears. This meant I used fewer wipes than I might normally have done, for the same job! I normally use an antibacterial hand gel, and whilst this is useful as there is morning to have to dispose of afterwards, none of us especially like the slightly tacky feel on our hands afterwards (and a pungent smell). The Sani Hands wipes just left our hands feeling clean and fresh, which was much nicer.
  1. Do you think you’d you buy them again?
I would definitely buy the Sani Hands wipes again, they were great!
  1. What sort of situations do you think the handy sized pack was handy for?!
It was perfect for keeping in a bag when you're out and about or in the car, when you don't necessarily want to have to carry or stow a huge pack of wipes.
  1. Would you recommend them to other parents?
Yes, I would certainly recommend them to other parents, in fact I already have!
Standingoutsidethefire · 29/08/2017 11:31

1 - used when out and about with dd's. Used on eldest to clean her hands before eating.
2 - packaging was ok. Handy resealable packet.
3 - wiped smelt nice, no too chemically. Good size although unsure about texture, although I suppose that's good to remove dirt.
4 - would prob buy again as I usually have a packet of hand wipes in my bag.
5 - handy to clean sticky fingers before eating. Generally keeping daughters hands clean.
6 - would prob recommend if it came up in conversation.

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 29/08/2017 11:31

We used it over the bank holiday weekend - park, safari and beach.

The kids liked the smell and texture did not bother them . The size was good
  1. Do you think you’d you buy them again?
Yes, will definitely buy them.
  1. What sort of situations do you think the handy sized pack was handy for?!

  1. Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?

Woodland walks & The Beach

  1. What did you think of the packaging?

Honestly not the biggest fan, looks quite medical, but that obviously suits the product. The actual plastic and seal are good quality though.

  1. What about the fragrance? And texture of the wipe? And size?

It's quite a strong frangrance, but I personally do not mind that at all as Iike the antibacterial smell. I think the idea of a textured wipe is so simple, yet so effective, and can't believe it's never been though of before! it feels like your hands are actually getting a good deep clean, rather then just wiping the grime all over. They are great for getting actual bits of dirt off as you can gently scrub. The size is just right to do both your hands without wasting a lot of materials.

  1. Do you think you’d you buy them again?

I already have! they are currently only 90p in Sainsbury's (your welcome Wink)

  1. What sort of situations do you think the handy sized pack was handy for?!

It's the perfect handbag size, I always have them on hand now, they have saved me & my toddler from sticky ice cream mess and green tree fungus!

  1. Would you recommend them to other parents?

100% yes, I used to just use baby wipes when out and about, but always realised they didn't actually have any antibacterial germ killing properties, so when absolutely needed I'd use the alcohol gel on my sons hands which isn't ideal as it's very rough on his delicate eczema skin. He has had no problems with these wipes and has used them quite a few times already.

Thank you for letting me try these wipes, they are honestly great & im glad I've discovered them, as I'm not 100% sure I would have ever noticed them without this.

  1. Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
At home - after the kids had been playing in the garden. Would also use them at the park or beach - anywhere that getting to a sink isn't practical.
  1. What did you think of the packaging?
Great - perfect size for popping in your bag and the sticky bit on the seal stayed sticky!
  1. What about the fragrance? And texture of the wipe? And size?
Don't have really strong feelings one way or the other about the smell really. Texture was good for getting muck off, much better than a smooth baby wipe. Size was right too.
  1. Do you think you’d you buy them again?
Yes probably - depending on price.
  1. What sort of situations do you think the handy sized pack was handy for?!
Gosh - loads. On an aeroplane, soft play, at the park, beach, home, school etc.
  1. Would you recommend them to other parents?
Yes - especially to parents with older children who are passed the nappy stage and who may not have baby wipes or want to buy a large pack.
Wattonearth · 29/08/2017 11:48

1.Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
On a day out on the bank holiday to a county show with only portaloos available and no hand washing facilities

  1. What did you think of the packaging?
The packaging was clear and appealing
  1. What about the fragrance? And texture of the wipe? And size?
The fragrance was surprisingly pleasant and not all clinical. I really liked the texture which was small rough circles but this meant when you wiped your hands you felt like you could remove dirt and actually clean them. 3yr old and baby also did mind the texture at all. The size of the wipe was spot on
  1. Do you think you’d you buy them again?
Yes I would, actually preferred this to hand gel as I felt like your hands were properly cleaned
  1. What sort of situations do you think the handy sized pack was handy for?!
Perfect for the sort of day out we had, long walks and picnics, anywhere where hand washing facilities are in unavailable
  1. Would you recommend them to other parents?
Yes I would recommend. Small packet easily fits into handbag/changebag. And they are just handy to keep incase you cannot access hand washing
JellyBeanz77 · 29/08/2017 11:53

Hi.

Thanks for the chance to test these hand wipes.

Feedback -

  1. Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
These hand wipes were used over the B/H weekend, whilst out and about. Particularly useful for my son to use before his blood tests (Type 1 diabetic).
  1. What did you think of the packaging?
Packaging was fairly generic. Felt the red cross stood out and suggested medical use, as did the '6 hours protection'.
  1. What about the fragrance? And texture of the wipe? And size?
I felt the fragrance was a bit strange, although a refreshing cucumber smell, perhaps? I think this product's USP is the texture of the wipe. The textured surface is a bit strange, but it really feels like you're cleaning your hands and not just giving them a quick cursory wipe. I felt the size of the wipe was adequate. A bit small for adult hands, perhaps, but not an issue.
  1. Do you think you’d you buy them again?
Yes - I would buy these wipes.
  1. What sort of situations do you think the handy sized pack was handy for?!
Very handy size of pack to keep in my handbag or with my son's diabetes blood testing kit - or both!
  1. Would you recommend them to other parents?

Yes. Parents of younger children probably need a bigger pack of wipes, but my children are older now... but I'm still never without a packet of wipes in my bag! These are perfect - they ensure a clean result when soap and water isn't available. Perfect too for my T1D son to ensure hygienic blood tests.

Thank you SaniHands and mumsnet.

  1. At home and while out and about, including traveling by bus and train.
  1. The packaging size is perfect for keeping in a handbag or even a pocket. The resealable sticker worked well and stayed sticky.
  1. I liked the smell. It wasn't too strong and overpowering, which is a problem with some gels that I've used. The size is good, one wipe felt like it had thoroughly cleaned my hands and I think the rough texture helped too as it makes you think that it's really lifting the germs. My hands actually felt very smooth and soft after using, I find that some gels leave a sticky feeling so I was pleasantly surprised by the wipes.
  1. Yes, definitely. I hope they'll be easy to find in the shops.
  1. I think they're perfect for keeping in a bag for when you're out and about, I'd use them when I go to the football with my son. We use public transport so I like to make sure our hands are very clean after that (we have hereditary immunity issues) as we often buy food to eat as we walk to the stadium.
  1. Definitely!
Iamthestorm · 29/08/2017 12:05

Thanks for letting us test these wipes

1.Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?

At a visit to a play farm/zoo with animal feeding & on a picnic

  1. What did you think of the packaging?

Quite plain, reminded me of generic work/clinical products whereas for family I'm more likely to choose something brighter and more appealing.

  1. What about the fragrance? And texture of the wipe? And size?

I liked the fragrance, it smelt clean and fresh, the size was good but the textured side was a bit rough for my son

  1. Do you think you’d you buy them again?

Yes, the pack size is ideal and they resealed easily, also my toddler son is frightened of Hand dryers and so panics at washing his hands out and about so these are ideal for us

  1. What sort of situations do you think the handy sized pack was handy for?!

Chucking in the car/nappy bag/handbag for unexpected mop ups. It would be good if you sold multipacks

  1. Would you recommend them to other parents?

Yes

1. Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
We used them during a day trip to a joust at a castle and used the remainder at home.
2. What did you think of the packaging?
The packaging isn't particularly new or unique but it stayed sticky well which is important when you want them to stay moist to the last wipe in the pack.
3. What about the fragrance? And texture of the wipe? And size?
The fragrance was great and I loved the texture for getting dirt off. The kids thought the dots were slightly rough so we just used the other side on hands or faces, but the dots were awesome at cleaning up the excessively muddy knees that we used them on. DD usually hates having her hands cleaned with gell or wipes before eating but didn't complain at all with these. On this basis alone I'll be looking out for them in the shops!
4. Do you think you’d you buy them again?
Absolutely! Are they for sale yet? I love the dots and the fact DD doesn't whinge when using them before eating. This is a HUGE benefit to us and my sanity!!
5. What sort of situations do you think the handy sized pack was handy for?!
I'd just always have a pack with me, day trips, parks, playgrounds. Even indoors when you're not sure the soap will be stocked. I seriously love these!
6. Would you recommend them to other parents?
Absolutely particularly those in possession of children who hate the smell and taste of most gelled or wipes. It can seem a small thing but when you have a little one crying because she is hungry but doesn't like how her hands smell or taste it becomes a big deal. Please can I have more wipes?!!!

  1. Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
At home and when out in town.
  1. What did you think of the packaging?
Small easy to pack in the changing bag. Clear and easy to read and informative.
  1. What about the fragrance? And texture of the wipe? And size?
We lived the fragrance, it was very fresh. I personally thought the texture was a little rough when using on the top side of my hand but nice feeling on my palms. My son didn't mind the texture at all though. Size is perfect for me and not too big for my son.
  1. Do you think you’d you buy them again?
Yes they're handy to have in the bag.
  1. What sort of situations do you think the handy sized pack was handy for?!
Being out somewhere where there are no sinks near by. Also good to quickly clean hands before food.
  1. Would you recommend them to other parents?
Yes

  1. Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
a day out at the zoo
  1. What did you think of the packaging?
very good,it's clear that they're an antibacterial product - I thought the colours were indicative of this, the text was big and bold. The size of the packet is perfect for slotting into a bag or pocket and the wipes were easily dispensed.the resealable opening was good too, although ours were all gone in a day so I can't say how long it stays sticky for. A multi pack would have been better for me with 4 children;I'd find this preferable to a larger pack too.
  1. What about the fragrance? And texture of the wipe? And size?
i thought they smelled clean and fresh, without the chemically smell you get with some wipes and gels.the texture is brilliant - I'm slightly over paranoid about germs and don't always feel my hands are as clean with a wipe as when we wash and dry them. I was satisfied with the feeling that we'd scrubbed our hands clean after touching animals/befoRe eating when we used these wipes. The moisture level was about right too;they weren't so wet that your hands go soapy and need drying, but they weren't too dry either.
  1. Do you think you’d you buy them again?
i would definitely buy these wipes.
  1. What sort of situations do you think the handy sized pack was handy for?!
theyre great for days out with the kids, for keeping in the car,and taking out to cafes/restaurants.
  1. Would you recommend them to other parents?
absolutely, they'll be a changing bag essential for me from now on!

This is a really good product,my favourite thing about them is the scrubby textured side,I've always thought wipes would benefit from this type of thing. The pack was Llinos used in a day with 6 of us,so I'd need several packs, but I'd happily buy a multi pack, which would be better than a larger pack as they'd be easier to store in the bag or car. Thank you very much for this testing opportunity,I look forward to buying more!

  1. Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
Camping and out and about over the bank holiday weekend.
  1. What did you think of the packaging?
Nice and convenient, a good size to pop in a pocket or bag.
  1. What about the fragrance? And texture of the wipe? And size?
Texture was good, fragrance not too overpowering and I liked that the size was big enough for our hands.
  1. Do you think you’d you buy them again?
Yes probably, we usually use the gel but I'd be happy to have a packet of these in my bag for when gel just doesn't cut it!
  1. What sort of situations do you think the handy sized pack was handy for?!
Clean ups after the toilet and before food.. Great when there are no sinks.
  1. Would you recommend them to other parents?
Yes certainly Smile

We used them at the park and in the garden.
  1. What did you think of the packaging?
It was fine, no strong feelings either way
  1. What about the fragrance? And texture of the wipe? And size?
Size and fragrance was good. Liked the inclusion of the rough textured side - that really helped to shift stubborn and sticky dirt from my children's hands.
  1. Do you think you’d you buy them again? Yes - I think they'd come in very handy to have in my car and changing bag.
  2. What sort of situations do you think the handy sized pack was handy for?! To keep in a bag or car to clean up kids when they've got dirty out and about.
  3. Would you recommend them to other parents?
Yes.

  1. Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
I used them after getting the train into work and the tube over the weekend.
  1. What did you think of the packaging?
Easy to open, and re-seal and in a sturdy, hard-wearing packet - which is essential given that I keep them loose in my handbag with everything else in there! It's great that they re-seal so well as otherwise they would dry out. The graphic design of the packaging doesn't appeal to me so much - it feels more like a cleaning product than a product I would want to use on my skin. I would prefer something cleaner and more minimal. I'd also be more likely to get them out in front of friends etc if the graphic design / branding of the package appealed to me more.
  1. What about the fragrance? And texture of the wipe? And size?
I like the fragrance a lot - it reminds me of a skincare product I used as a teenager, and it smelt fresh and clean, rather than chemically or over-fragranced. I personally liked the texture of the wipe, although I think it's too rough to use on small children. I felt as if it exfoliated my hands when I was using it - which is an added bonus! The size is large - perhaps too big for a single use product. I felt a bit guilty throwing it out. I'd prefer twice the number of wipes at half the size for the same price.
  1. Do you think you’d you buy them again?
I would definitely buy if travelling - they would be great to have on hand.
  1. What sort of situations do you think the handy sized pack was handy for?!
Travelling overseas - especially when on trains, planes and in busy public places where you might not have access to soap and water easily. I would also take them on picnics.
  1. Would you recommend them to other parents?
I don't think the texture is suitable for young kids. But would be great for older kids, so would recommend to people with kids over age of ten.
MadisonAvenue · 29/08/2017 12:38

Sorry, forgot to say on my review that I like how they fight germs for up to 6 hours.
