This is the feedback thread for the MN testers who are trying out Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes this summer.

Sani Hands say “with increased public awareness of the importance of hand hygiene and the transfer of germs, people now more than ever want to minimise the risk of picking up germs and bacteria. Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes kill 99.99% of bacteria and germs in seconds, and keep hands protected for up to 6 hours. With 80% of communicable diseases transferred by touch, most bacteria on our hands is on the fingertips and under our nails. Sani Hands anti-bacterial wipes are proven to be the most effective and hygienic alternative to soap and water.

They are perfect for busy days with the children, and are also popular with commuters, holiday makers and office workers. The unique textured surface improves dirt removal while the added moisturisers make them gentle on your hands.”

Testers were sent a pack of Sani Hands Antibacterial Hand Wipes, each handy sized pack containing 12 wipes. The RRP is £1.20.

Sani Hands are available to buy from Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda and Waitrose stores and further information can be found here

  • Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different?
Not currently... I do try to avoid antibacterial products on the whole as I believe it disrupts the body's natural microbiota... that being said, I also have a very inquisitive toddler with a penchant for bathroom bins so I did want to give the wipes a go in emergency situations. Gels I've used in the past have been drying and I didn't find these wipes to be so.
  • Which members of the family tested the wipes? All of us ! Me, hubby, toddler and baby (used on hands and dropped toys)
  • What did you think of the texture of the product? I felt the rough side of the wipes gave a great, deep clean
  • What did think about the fragrance? I didn't notice a particular fragrance... which is a positive!
  • What did you think about the after feel? Hands felt clean with very little residue, and not dried out as with other antibacterial products.
  • What did you think of the packaging? The size of the packet fitted neatly into my changing bag and the seal was effective to stop the wipes from drying out
  • Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes? Hands and dropped toys. Particularly useful as my son sometimes refuses to wash his hands in public loos as he doesn't like the dryers.
  • Would you recommend this product? Yes... for emergencies

  • Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different?
We usually use a gel with our 1yo so using wipes was a nice change. The wipes were less messy than a gel and were easier to pick up and take anywhere with us.
  • Which members of the family tested the wipes?
Myself, my partner and our 1yo son.
  • What did you think of the texture of the product?
The texture was soft and all three members of the family happily used them. Sometimes, some baby wipes we have used in the past had a rough texture so we were not sure before using these. However, we are pleased to report that this was not the case with these wipes.
  • What did think about the fragrance?
Very refreshing and not chemically at all!
  • What did you think about the after feel?
Hands were quick to dry and no sticky residue was left afterwards
  • What did you think of the packaging?
Easy to access and open which is always important when dealing with young children!
  • Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
Day to day use while out doing errands and in and out of the car
  • Would you recommend this product?
Yes!

Thank you for choosing us to test the product! It has opened our eyes to a new product we wouldn't usually consider purchasing.

  • Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different?
Yes, we use gels. Gels aren't very suitable for use on the baby's hands so wipes were ideal for that.
  • Which members of the family tested the wipes?
Me (mum) and 15 month old
  • What did you think of the texture of the product?
I liked it being a little textured as helped to remove dirt
  • What did think about the fragrance?
Nice and fresh
  • What did you think about the after feel?
It was fine
  • What did you think of the packaging?
Nice bright and distinctive packaging which made them easy to find in my bag
  • Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
On holiday / days out which involved eating away from home and clearing up the consequential messes!
  • Would you recommend this product?
Yes

  • Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different?
I usually use gel and these wipes were better because I often end up with too much coming out of the bottle and then I have to wait for it to dry.
  • Which members of the family tested the wipes?
I tried them and dd (18).
  • What did you think of the texture of the product?
I liked the texture but dd did not like the pattern, she said it looked too holey.
  • What did think about the fragrance?
I liked that they did not have a really strong fragrance, I find the gels are sometimes very overpowering.
  • What did you think about the after feel?
I liked it, my hands felt clean and not sticky.
  • What did you think of the packaging?
I liked the size of the packet, it is a good size to just keep in my bag or pocket.
  • Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
I used them in the car after work, I am a cleaner.
  • Would you recommend this product?
Yes I would definitely recommend them and will be looking out for them in the supermarket

Tester

I don't currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels.

The wipes were tested on all my family including my 2 children.

I liked the texture of the hand wipes especially the textured side as it felt like the wipes were removing the germs.

I liked the fragrance of the hand wipes. They were fresh and clean smelling which made me feel confident that our hands were clean and germ free after using them. Not too chemically enhanced so I felt confident using them on my children's soft skin.

The after feel felt clean and smooth.

The packaging was good how the seemed compact and easy to carry and transport. Clear packaging knowing they are antibacterial.

We used the wipes on holiday and on the beach where there are no facilities to wash your hands. Great for picnics in the summer.

Yes I'd definitely recommend the hand wipes and it's be keen to buy them in the future to use for my family.

Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different?
I have used gels before but find they can be quite drying+some can smell very medicinal unlike these wipes. They smelt lovely and fresh +left my skin feeling clean and soft. Love that the protection lasts for 6 hours.

  • Which members of the family tested the wipes?
My three year old daughter, my husband and myself
  • What did you think of the texture of the product?
I loved the texture! It gives you that extra little bit of cleaning power for stubborn stains (such as oil/grease as hubby is HGV driver he wants a pack in his work bag at all times!) I felt like I had had a mini exfoliating treatment which is a bonus but may be a bit rough for some little ones or people with sensitive skin.
  • What did think about the fragrance?
I liked the fragrance nice, fresh + clean.
  • What did you think about the after feel?
You are left feeling clean without the harshness of some antibacterial wipes.
  • What did you think of the packaging?
Packaging was ok. Don't think it would stand out on a shelf but I did like the red cross with Sani Hands logo. Looks quite manly or more similar to household cleaners. Good robust pack tho and re-sealed well so wipes didn't dry out.
  • Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
My husband used them while in work, my daughter and I used them while out and about and in some public toilets that weren't the nicest so I was very pleased I had them in my bag!
  • Would you recommend this product?
Definitely would recommend. Good price for good product would also like to see in slightly bigger packs.

2.what did you think of the packaging?
i thought the packaging wass really good and strong the reseable pack worked really well and the wipes didnt dry up.

3.what about the fragrance, and the texture of the wipe ? and size?
i liked the fragrance it smelt clean not to strong. the texture was good but if children where smaller it might have been a bit rough on their skin.the size was really good you could clean two for the price of one.

  1. do you think you would buy them again?
yes i would cheap and doesnt take up much room in your bag

5.what sort of situations do you think the handy pack was handy for?
they would be very handy on long journeys where they was no water to freshen up

6.would you recommend them to other parents?
yes i would but for older children as a bit rough for younger ones

Cookez · 23/09/2017 11:24

Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different?
I use gels normally but I loved these wipes and the abrasive bumps!
- Which members of the family tested the wipes?
We went camping and took these with us so my husband and youngest child all used them and loved them. They left your hands feeling lovely and not a bit tight like other hand sanitisers I've used
- What did you think of the texture of the product?
The texture was my favourite part of the product as the abrasiveness made you feel like you were getting rid of any dirt or germs rather than spreading them round your hands.
- What did think about the fragrance?
The fragrance was quite light and not too heavy. Some hand gels smell quite strong with a potent alcohol scent but these smelt refreshing.
- What did you think about the after feel?
The after feel was clean and not tacky on your hands.
- What did you think of the packaging?
The packaging was bright enough not to lose them in the tent, which was helpful, I found the design to be re assuring that they would be fit for the job, they looked like a medical product which made me feel like they would be effective.
- Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
In a very busy bank holiday camp site, with awful toilets and washing facilities!
- Would you recommend this product?
I loved this product and if I have to go camping again I'm taking these Smile

  • What did you think about the after feel? they left us feeling fresh and clean
  • What did you think of the packaging? brilliant - small enough to keep in the car, bag or even pocket
  • Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes? we used them at the park, beach and shopping
  • Would you recommend this product? def yes. I wasn't worried about it leaking like I am with a bottle, its easier to carry and I don't have to worry about the little ones squeezing half a bottle out at a time.

  • Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different? We usually buy antibacterial gels. I love the fact that Sani is made of two different sides- one side is rough so it feels like it is cleaning your hands better and the soft side is for finishing off the work

  • Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different?

Yes, we use antibacterial gel in our house. So it dries really quickly and leaves your hands feeling fresh and clean. These were wipes that also left your hands feeling nice and clean and also a bit exfoliate because of the rough side.

  • Which members of the family tested the wipes?

My husband, DS4 and I all tested the wipes. The first time over a takeaway pizza!

  • What did you think of the texture of the product?

The smooth side was lovely. The rough side confused me at first as I thought beads were coming off and staying on my hands! When I realised what was happening, I thought it was a great idea as it really helps get dirt and oil off your hands, leaving them feeling clean.

  • What did think about the fragrance?

The fragrance was fine. Not too strong and not too clinical smelling!

  • What did you think about the after feel?

It was great. My hands felt really clean and refreshed and safe to eat from again!

  • What did you think of the packaging?

The packaging was small and compact and fitted easily in my handbag but I felt it looked too much like a prescribed, medicinal product which puts me off somewhat!

  • Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?

I'm guessing you don't mean I used them on my hands?! ;) I used them at home after eating with my hands and cleaning up after my dog, and also whilst out and about.

  • Would you recommend this product?

I would, yes. It's a great product that does exactly what it says it will do. I do prefer the gel as I feel it lasts longer than 12 goes, which is how many wipes are in these packs.

billyalex · 26/09/2017 21:12
  • Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different?
Yes I do. I use hand gels most of the time but I really liked the texture on these wipes as they made me feel as though my hands were really clean. The smell is also much nicer than many of the gels I've used before.
  • Which members of the family tested the wipes?
Myself, my husband and my 2 1/2 year old son.
  • What did you think of the texture of the product?
I loved the texture. It helped my hands feel super clean although I do feel as though it was a little rough on the back on my hands.
  • What did think about the fragrance? I thought the fragrance was lovely. The wipes smell much better than many of the gels I've used.
  • What did you think about the after feel?
My hands felt clean and smelt good. I was very happy.
  • What did you think of the packaging? Nice and bright! Easy to spot in the bottom of a big handbag.
  • Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
At Alton towers and whilst on holiday caravaning. They were really useful as they didn't take up much room but it felt as though I was able to keep clean.
  • Would you recommend this product?
I would highly recommend this product. They were brilliant whist camping and whilst on day trips out.
