This is the feedback thread for the MN testers who are trying out Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes this summer.

Sani Hands say “with increased public awareness of the importance of hand hygiene and the transfer of germs, people now more than ever want to minimise the risk of picking up germs and bacteria. Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes kill 99.99% of bacteria and germs in seconds, and keep hands protected for up to 6 hours. With 80% of communicable diseases transferred by touch, most bacteria on our hands is on the fingertips and under our nails. Sani Hands anti-bacterial wipes are proven to be the most effective and hygienic alternative to soap and water.

They are perfect for busy days with the children, and are also popular with commuters, holiday makers and office workers. The unique textured surface improves dirt removal while the added moisturisers make them gentle on your hands.”

Testers were sent a pack of Sani Hands Antibacterial Hand Wipes, each handy sized pack containing 12 wipes. The RRP is £1.20.

Sani Hands are available to buy from Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda and Waitrose stores and further information can be found here

Firstly thank you for sending me a pack of these to test - they were especially useful during our summer trips out!

  • Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes? No but I do use general hand wipes. These were tougher, more durable and the dimples side helped clean better.
  • Which members of the family tested the wipes? Me, DH and 2 DC
  • What did you think of the texture of the product? Good, liked the option of smooth or bumpy depending on cleaning required.
  • What did think about the fragrance? Nice, not too strong.
  • What did you think about the after feel? Clean, but no cleaner than other wipes I've used.
  • What did you think of the packaging? Good, about the same as other wipes. Can see the plastic seal falling off after time.
  • Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes? Out and about when we didn't have easy access to a sink.
  • Would you recommend this product? Not sure, depends on price, I'm not sure how environmentally friendly these are because they are so strong - I'm worried they won't decompose quickly. Also, I don't think they clean any better than other wipes.

I did appreciate being picked though so thank you!

bexthefirestarter · 10/09/2017 12:15

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to take part in this trial. These wipes are fab when you have a very messy little toddler ! I kept them in my handbag as the small handy packaging made them an ideal size for quick and easy clean ups rather than carting a big pack of baby wipes around that weigh my bag down ! I usually use the gels which my little lad hates - I think this is because the gels have a very strong smell of alcohol so it was good to have something pleasant to use. The textured surface meant I could remove the more stubborn dirt from mucky nails a little easier although I have to be honest and say my toddler didn't like this sensation very much as it feels a bit rough on the skin. I think this product would be great for slightly older children who might not be bothered as much by textures ! The after feel however was pleasant and left my hands feeling clean and refreshed. I would use them again as they are very handy.

  • Which members of the family tested the wipes? Myself and my daughter
  • What did you think of the texture of the product? I liked it
  • What did think about the fragrance? Pleasant and smelt hygienic
  • What did you think about the after feel? Fine - was not too sticky or wet
  • What did you think of the packaging? Good - compact and easy to carry and so far has kept remaining wipes properly sealed in the package
  • Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes? In a public loo as there was a lack of soap and hand towel
  • Would you recommend this product? Yes if it came up in conversation ( though realistically it may not !)

Tester-

1.) Being a nurse I always tend to use alcohol gels at work but at home we use wipes as they are easier to use with the kids. This wipes were very different due to their texture size and material.

2.) I used the wipes on myself and my children while we were away on a short family break. My daughter is 3 and always has sticky hands and a dirty face. As do my bpys who are 5 and 9.

3.) I liked the texture of these wipes as you really feel like the give a good clean but do feel a little rough. My children didnt mind them too. Its like they exfoliate while cleaning.

4.) The fragrance was very fresh and clean

5.) They make your akin feel lovely after and dont leave any residue.

6.) The packaging is very good as contains lots of information. I think its eye catching and its good that it displays the picture of the textured surface on the front. The wipes are easy to remove feom the packaging and come out one at a time. Also the resealable label seals again well after use.

7.) We used these wipes after eating out and also after using public toilets.

8.) I wpuld definitely recommend this product to my friends and family as they are brilliant and i will be switching to these from the regular brand I currently buy due to the texture and how clean your hands feel after use.

  • Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different?
  • Which members of the family tested the wipes?
I did
  • What did you think of the texture of the product?
I really liked the texture, I felt that the wipes would actually get dirt off rather than just smearing it around. Although I think the texture might be a little too rough for very young children.
  • What did think about the fragrance?
I liked the fragrance. I could not figure out what the fragrance was, but I like it.
  • What did you think about the after feel?
The after feel was fine. As with enjoy wipes / gels I find my hands feel a little sticky afterwards, but the feeling went very quickly.
  • What did you think of the packaging?
I was not impressed by the packaging, the design would not make me want to buy the product. If I'm going to carry something around with me I want it to look nice.
  • Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
I intended to use them on holiday, but forgot to pack them! So I used them when at home.
  • Would you recommend this product?
Yes I would, although I no longer have to carry wipes around now my children are older, they would have been great a few years ago, especially for my ds who was a dirt magnet who also had superpowers that enabled him to melt chocolate with his eyes. I think I might keep a pack in the car, in case I ever need to change a tyre etc.

Thanks for letting my test these

Tester

- Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different?

I use antibacterial gels when visiting a relative with a compromised immune system. I find some gels can have a harsh effect on my hands. These were different in that, despite having a textured side, they have been more gentle on my skin. I like that they are so much easier to use than gels - no drips or misjudging the amount dispensed.- and a handy size to keep in my handbag for whenever I may need to use them.

- Which members of the family tested the wipes?

Myself and my partner. As they know I do product testing for various brands, my customers are always asking what products I'm currently trying and if I'd recommend them so I also let some of them try the wipes. None of them had tried the product before and they all mentioned the textured side. It was felt that this made the product feel more effective.

- What did you think of the texture of the product?

I really like the textured side. It gives a unique USP to this product, marking it out from other antibacterial hand wipes available. I like having the option of the standard or textured side, using the smooth side for general cleanliness and the textured side for a deeper clean.

- What did think about the fragrance?

The fragrance was light and refreshing and the aloe leaf juice gives it a natural, gentle scent that is far nicer than the clinical or chemical smell some similar products have. The fragrance suited the product very well and was very pleasant.

- What did you think about the after feel?

After using, my hands felt fresh, clean and soft. Other antibacterial products can feel harsh on my skin and can leave my hands feeling tender but this was very gentle. Antibacterial gels leave me with wet hands which isn't a pleasant feeling but these wipes were moist enough to thoroughly sanitise my hands but the moisture was absorbed quickly into my skin.

- What did you think of the packaging?

The packaging was very practical. This is just the right size for popping in my handbag for when I'm on the go. The seal keeps the packet contents from drying out but is easy to open. The relevant information is clearly stated on the front of the package.

- Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?

I used them at home, at work, when visiting a relative with a compromised immune system and on the go, generally. The pack size was perfect for keeping in my handbag for any occasion it was required.

- Would you recommend this product?

Yes, I would recommend it as it is an effective product that allows me to sanitise my hands at home or on the go, and the textured side assures a deep clean.

I liked the textured side it made even the dirtiest hands clean! The fragrance was really nice and fresh smelling and i thought it was a great size although maybe a little big for small hands
  • What did you think about the after feel?
I liked the after feel of them, DH didn't like it and 2 out of 3 DC liked the after feel of them
  • What did you think of the packaging?
Eye catching. Easy to open and use
  • Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
We used them while out and about one weekend
  • Would you recommend this product?
Yes definitely
Lorraineohara · 13/09/2017 13:11
  • Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different?
I use both wipes and gels normally. I found these wipes to be similar to what I currently use in terms of effectiveness although they felt rougher than my normal wipes.
  • Which members of the family tested the wipes?
My partner, my child and I.
  • What did you think of the texture of the product?
I found the wipes a bit rougher than my usual ones yet not in such a way that bothered me.
  • What did think about the fragrance?
They were not too overpowering unlike some other wipes.
  • What did you think about the after feel? My hands felt clean yet did not feel sticky unlike some other products.
  • What did you think of the packaging?
The packaging suited the product and made me feel confident in their claims. It was attractive yet not distracting as it immediately made me think of cleaning wipes.
  • Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
I used them whilst out and about with my child.
  • Would you recommend this product?

They smelled lovely and weren't too wet, but left our hands feeling smooth and clean.

starryskies78 · 15/09/2017 14:48

Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels?
No, I use baby wipes. Which are fine, but the pack is too back and never stays sealed.

  • Which members of the family tested the wipes?
Myself and my 5 yr old boy.
  • What did you think of the texture of the product?
I loved it. The slight roughness of the one side gave me the feel that my hands were being cleaned more thoroughly. I was very impressed.
  • What did think about the fragrance?
I liked that fragrance actually. They have a clean and fresh fragrance and not overpowering.
  • What did you think about the after feel?
My hands felt soft and didn't feel dry like some wipes can do to them.
  • What did you think of the packaging?
I really like that size, it's great for my handbag, especially with it not weighing much. The resealable section was large and this made a definite improvement in making sure they closed down and stayed down. I was impressed with this.
  • Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
Everywhere! The park, theme park, supermarket, after getting petrol and putting air in the car, very often after snack time, on the way to school to wipe toothpaste or that last bit of jam!
  • Would you recommend this product?
Absolutely, we loved them and I would definitely purchase and recommend.
Solo · 16/09/2017 17:27

Entry No.3 Hmm Dd now loves the scent of these. She loves the grainy feel of them and having tried them she thinks they're ace! Finicky tween!

  1. Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
We used them in the car on trips out to the woods and park etc
  1. What did you think of the packaging?
Adequate. Nothing amazing but does what it says on the packet. Good they the packet stays sealed after each use (some I've had in past lose stickyness too quickly so u end up wasting half of them)
  1. What about the fragrance? And texture of the wipe? And size?
Size was good not too small but also not huge. The smell was clean but a nicer scent would be lovely. The texture was really good gave you the feeling of it really cleaning.
  1. Do you think you’d you buy them again? Yes I love having hand held in my bag so the wipes are just as handy also really good that the packet actually stays shut so they don't all dry out quickly
  2. What sort of situations do you think the handy sized pack was handy for?! To keep in my bag for any situation.
  3. Would you recommend them to other parents?
Yes. Always good to have to hand
daylight · 19/09/2017 10:49
  1. Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
We used them on our trip to Legoland
  1. What did you think of the packaging?
I loved the handy size - fitted in my handbag comfortably.
  1. What about the fragrance? And texture of the wipe? And size?
The fragrance wasn't too bad, a little medically to be honest. The texture of the wipe was different, rough on one side and smooth on the other - the kids didn't say anything against it (8yo, 4 and 1yo)! The size was perfect for us all.
  1. Do you think you’d you buy them again?
Yes I would purchase, it's perfect for on the go!
  1. What sort of situations do you think the handy sized pack was handy for?!
It's perfect for when your out and about. Before having a picnic, after using the toilet and for my hands after nappy changes!
  1. Would you recommend them to other parents?
Yes I would, the reassurance to know we have clean germ free hands protected for up to 6 hours is great!
GammaDelta · 19/09/2017 14:24

Texture was a bit rough but my son still liked it, though I won't prefer to use it on his or my face.

4.- What did think about the fragrance?
loved the fragrance felt very fresh

  1. What did you think about the after feel?
didn't make my skin dry at all.. felt moisturiser and clean
  1. What did you think of the packaging?
very nice sleek packaging easy to carry I bag also the cover was nice to put the tape back on. I have a suggestion though, it should preferably be either in both blue and pink shades or best to have a neutral shade. Its silly but kids these days associate blue to boys and pink to girls.
  1. Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
I used it when we were out and About visiting gardens and zoo
  1. Would you recommend this product?
I most definitely will.

I love the hand wipes and keep them in the car - the rough side makes you feel as if you’ve washed your hands not just used a wipe! I’ll be keeping these in stock!
