This is the feedback thread for the MN testers who are trying out Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes this summer.

Sani Hands say “with increased public awareness of the importance of hand hygiene and the transfer of germs, people now more than ever want to minimise the risk of picking up germs and bacteria. Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes kill 99.99% of bacteria and germs in seconds, and keep hands protected for up to 6 hours. 1. We took them to the seaside with us for the Bank Holiday weekend.

  2. The packaging reminded me wipes I use for cleaning the bathroom or kitchen not handwipes.

  3. I liked the size, texture and fragance. I felt that one wipe could get my hands really clean and with the bumps I got dirt off my hands which I thought were already clean. My 10 year old used one to scrub her feet after playing on the beach and it worked really well.

  4. Probably but as usual depending on price. I usually have lidl wipes in my bag which come in packs of 25 which is a lot better for my family of 5. The pack of 12, no matter how much I like them wouldn't last more than a day.

  5. Any situation to clean the childrens hands. They tend to get mucky and need cleaning.

  6. Yes

  1. Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
I used the wipes over the Bank Holiday weekend whilst out walking and being with friends at a wedding.
  1. What did you think of the packaging?
I loved it - it's nice and bright and a good size. The resealable actually stayed sticky until the packet was empty (this doesn't always happen)
  1. What about the fragrance? And texture of the wipe? And size?
Great fragrance - much better than my usual hand gel. I also loved the rough texture of the wipes and the pack size was good. Small enough to carry around but a decent size inside.
  1. Do you think you’d you buy them again?

  1. Would you recommend them to other parents?
Yes. Absolutely. I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked these wipes. Thank You Smile

  • Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different?
Yes we use gel when out and about. I felt that the wipes actually helped to remove dirt too.

Myself and my little boy
  • What did you think of the texture of the product?
I really liked the textured side as it could assist in removing dirt.
  • What did think about the fragrance?
The fragrance was fresh and suitable
  • What did you think about the after feel?
My hands felt fine afterwards, just cleaner!
  • What did you think of the packaging?
That was the only thing I didn't like, they looked a bit clinical and wouldn't have caught my eye in a shop.
  • Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes? When out shopping, just before food.
  • Would you recommend this product?
Yes I would if the price was acceptable
TraceyVee · 29/08/2017 13:45

Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different?
We normally just use travel packs of baby wipes and then a squirt of anti bac gel when we're out so it was good to try a product that was cleansing and anti bacterial all in one. Less things to carry is always good!

  • Which members of the family tested the wipes?
Myself, my husband and our 2 boys ages 12 and 7 all tried the wipes.
  • What did you think of the texture of the product?
I was surprised at the rough side initially and I was unsure how my boys who are autistic would react to it but they actually loved the feeling of it on their hands. I liked it as it felt like it was really cleaning your hands rather than just a quick wipe.
  • What did think about the fragrance?
I liked the fragrance. Not overly strong but a pleasant clean smell
  • What did you think about the after feel? Hands felt really clean and skin didn't feel irritated.
  • What did you think of the packaging?
I like the packaging. It's a handy size for slipping in your pocket or bag. It's easy to open and re seal and didn't look babyish
  • Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
We spent a few days at the beach and we used them when we were out and about, before snacks and meals and cleaning up afterwards. I particularly liked them for cleaning up after throwing stones into the sea. It felt like the kids had a really good clean better than just having a wipe with baby wipes. Cleaning with the rough side is very reassuring.
  • Would you recommend this product?
I definitely would recommend this and I will buy it again myself. I was confident that my kids' hands were kept clean and fresh.

I think I may have made a mess (tmi) so they needed a clean up quick. They were complimented alot whilst we waited for the amberlance to arrive. What else do you talk about at 5am over a messy shower curtain. Hubby used them in the hospital and the last were used with my boys 2 and 4 in the garden.

  • Would you recommend this product?

Yes definitely, they are handy, really feel like you have clean as you can see the dirt scrubbing off the boys (Not the aforementioned use!) I wouldn't used them on tiny little ones but these are definitely being added to the car and bags.

  • Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different?
I currently use gels but find these get very runny. I quite liked the wipes but did wonder if they can be as effective at getting in the nooks and crannies of my fingers.
  • Which members of the family tested the wipes?
Myself and my DD (15yo)
  • What did you think of the texture of the product?
I found them a very strange sensation. They felt rather rough and when I first took one out of the packet I did wonder if they had packaged the right item in the wrapper. DD really didn't like the roughness.
  • What did think about the fragrance?
The fragrance is ok. Not too overpowering and doesn't linger
  • What did you think about the after feel?
Better than gels! No stickiness.
  • What did you think of the packaging?

  1. Where did you use sani hands anti bacterial hand wipes?
We used the wipes while picnicking in the woods and at local wildlife attraction. Also when at the park teaching our dc to ride their bikes (lots of grass and mud to clean from hands) 2.what did you think of the packaging? Great size for a handbag. It would be good if you could also buy them in a family size with more wipes for longer days out. 3.what did you think of the fragrance, size and texture? Lovely smell, not too clinical. Love the texture? Great for scrubbing off dirt from small hands. I found the wipes ideal size for me and dc but a little on the small size for dh.
  1. Do you think you'll buy them again?
Definitely take a pack of these out on days out. 5.what sort of situations would these be useful for? Days out and picnics where hand washing facilities are limited e.g woods and beach .
  1. Would you recommend this product?
Definitely. The textured wipes really sets them apart from the usual wipes I use. Really helps to clean dirt from hands.
WhatILoved · 29/08/2017 14:40
  • Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different?

No we don't usually use them. Just wet wipes as they can also be used on face etc.

  • Which members of the family tested the wipes?

Myself and three year old

  • What did you think of the texture of the product?

I thought it was good for adult skin but maybe a bit rough for kids.

  • What did think about the fragrance?

It smelled as I expected it to smell. Clean, medical maybe a bit chemically, but not off putting.

  • What did you think about the after feel?

Firstly a bit stick but then wore off

  • What did you think of the packaging?

Not that interesting but it kept them moist.

  • Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?

On my own after the tube and in the park after ice cream.

  • Would you recommend this product?

Yes for adults. The texture is a point of interest.

I wouldn't buy this again though as it was too rough for young kids

MsOedipaMaas · 29/08/2017 15:06

Quick update: I've also just used one of the wipes to clean my keyboard and mouse at work - and they've worked SO well! The textured side made it really easy to wipe them spotless, which makes me so much happier to use them!

1.Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different?
I normally use antibacterial gels. I keep them in my handbag, at work and in my car. These wipes were definitely less messy compared to the gels.

2. Which members of the family tested the wipes?
My husband, step son (age 6) and I all tested these wipes.

3. What did you think of the texture of the product?
I was really pleasantly surprised about the texture of these wipes. I was impressed by the rough textured size and a regular soft side. However, my step son did find the textured side a little strange. I wondered how children or adults with conditions such as autism may react to using the textured side.

4. What did think about the fragrance?
Both my husband and I commented on how light and refreshing the fragrance was. A nice change to the over powering smells of some gels.

5. What did you think about the after feel?
Our hands really felt lovely and clean, without the dryness that we normally have after using a gel.

6. What did you think of the packaging?
The packaging is very clear as to what is inside and the seal is very strong. Quite often I find that the seal isn't sticky enough and opens leaving the wipes to dry out, not in this case!

7. Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
We used the wipes in our home, in a restaurant and out and about in our local city centre. They proved really handy.

8. Would you recommend this product?
I would absolutely recommend this products. Extremely useful, small enough to pop into my handbag or in the glovebox of my car. Good value at £1.20 for a small packet and would be useful for trips away. We were really impressed of the quality of the wipes, really tough and strong with no tearing. Thank you for letting us try the wipes. They will definitely be added to our shopping list!

redbook · 29/08/2017 15:15

Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different?
I mainly use hand wipes to wipe DS's hands and face after eating. The main difference I noticed were these had the textured surface.

Which members of the family tested the wipes?
DH, DS and me.

What did you think of the texture of the product?
It was unusual. I didn't mind it. I can't comment on whether the texture does a better job at removing dirt than normal wipes, but my hands felt clean. DS didn't like the bumps when I was wiping his face, so I just used the soft side.

What did think about the fragrance?
Fresh. I quite liked it. Better than other anti- bac wipes. Also, the smell dispersed quickly so no lingering hand-wipe smell.

What did you think about the after feel?
My hands felt clean. DS's hands looked clean. No stickyness or lingering residue.

I also liked that the wipe kept its wetness for some time. Often I have to use a few wipes, but these wipes seemed to last longer.

What did you think of the packaging?
The pack was easy to open which is great when you have sticky or greasy hands. The pack was small enough to fit in a little day purse - which is when i need to carry a pack.

Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
The wipes arrived just as we were leaving for a camping trip for the bank holiday weekend. Perfect timing! We used them before and after eating, after trips to the sea and woods.

Would you recommend this product?
I am unlikely to bring this product up in conversation as the product isnt a game changer compared to other wipes.

Also, as these wipes have alcohol and state they are to be kept away from eyes, it doesn't seem that they are intended as a multi functional wipe. I have a mucky 3 year old DS and wouldn't carry separate face and hand wipes. So while these wipes are good as a one off, I'd prefer my day-to-day wipe to be suitable for the face too.

Cadensofia1 · 29/08/2017 15:23

My 2 year old and 9 year old and of course my self

  • Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different?
I usually use gel but these actually remove dirt as well as sanitise hands
  • Which members of the family tested the wipes?
I used them on myself and my 10 year old son
  • What did you think of the texture of the product?
The texture was a surprise and worked really well to make hands look and feel clean
  • What did think about the fragrance?
I liked the fresh clean fragrance
  • What did you think about the after feel?
These felt nicer than using gel which sometimes makes my sensitive skin itch/sting, these didn't.
  • What did you think of the packaging?
Packaging is good, resealable very sticky no ripping and drying up of wipes as has happened with other wipes I've used.
  • Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
In the park, in soft play centres, whilst out before feeding my baby or applying teething gel.
  • Would you recommend this product?
Definitely and will definitely buy again, would like to see a bigger pack size for bigger bags i.e. Changing bags
littlepinkfluffybunny · 29/08/2017 15:55
  • Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different?
I use anti-bac gels or baby wipes. Sani-hands were different because they had the rough side which helped remove dirt and sand and had a smaller pack size than baby wipes.
  • Which members of the family tested the wipes?
Me and my 2 year old daughter.
  • What did you think of the texture of the product?
I thought it was great for removing sand and dirt from hands while sanitising them. My 2 year old said they were 'scratchy' the first time we used them, then didn't mention it the next times.
  • What did think about the fragrance?
What I would expect for anti-bac. Didn't smell like alcohol though, which is good!
  • What did you think about the after feel?
Took a minute or so to dry, but felt fine.
  • What did you think of the packaging?
Not something which would appeal to me on a shelf as a mother. I would be looking for something a bit brighter and child-friendly to encourage good hygiene in my little one.
  • Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
On the beach after my daughter was playing in the sand, the wipes got most of the sand off her hands. At the park when she touched something sticky (bleugh!) and again they worked great. On the boat after she had her hands in the water and she was about to eat.
  • Would you recommend this product?
Yes, I like the rough side and the peace of mind that me and my little girl have 6 hours protection from germs!
Nicehooves · 29/08/2017 16:06
  • Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
In the baby changing room. At a cafe. At home.
  • What did you think of the packaging?
The packaging is bigger than the wipes inside and had creased in such a way that it was difficult to read the branding. Prime area of the front of the package was wasted on a dodgy graphic flourish. Overall I think the packaging design could be better but I guess it wouldn't stop me buying the wipes.
  • What about the fragrance? And texture of the wipe? And size?
At first I was a little confused because it felty quite rough but actually it makes it easier to grip and use the wipe and I suppose it would also help removed stubborn dirt on mucky little hands. The fragrance was pleasant, not too strong or medical. Hits a good balance I think.

-Do you think you’d you buy them again
Certainly. I'd keep a packet in my bag. They are as good if not better than the boots brand.

  • What sort of situations do you think the handy sized pack was handy for?!
Days out. Overseas travel. Festival toilets. Baby changing. Anywhere you get dirty really!

-Would you recommend them to other parents?
Yes but mostly for use by the parents rather than their children.

Optimist1 · 29/08/2017 16:12

TESTER

Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different?
Yes, I use antibac gels. I've found other manufacturer's wipes to be too small and the packaging of baby wipes to be too large. This product has converted me - the package is small enough to keep a pack in my handbag but the wipes are a good size.
Which members of the family tested the wipes?
A couple of 8 year olds and their accompanying adults.
What did you think of the texture of the product?
The textured side is inspired and very effective. I had been cutting up strawberries and my fingers were quite stained, but these wipes did the job. I might think twice about using the textured side on the skin of a very small child, though.
What did think about the fragrance?
Lovely - clean and fresh.
What did you think about the after feel?
It took a little longer than gel for my hands to dry after use, but I'm guessing that was because of low alcohol content. (I was the only one to make this comment). Once my hands were dry they felt clean and moisturised without any greasiness - exactly right.
What did you think of the packaging?
Eye-catching, so easily located on the supermarket shelf and in a copiously over-filled handbag! I found opening the packet initially to be a little fiddly, but no problems after the first time. It stays sealed well between uses.
Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
On a day out that included a picnic lunch.
Would you recommend this product?
Definitely, and not just to families.

Thanks for the opportunity of trying the product; you have a new customer now!

PoppyPopcorn · 29/08/2017 16:19

Missed a couple of questions - sorry!!

We currently use hand gel but it's in a large pump action dispenser in hte kitchen, not really practical for taking out and about.

Who tested the wipes? Me, and my kids two boys of 14 and 9 and a girl of 11.

KittyKat88 · 29/08/2017 16:19
  • Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different?
We use an anti-bac hand gel (from a bottle) at the moment, which works well but leaves an after smell, which is no good for picnics as makes the DCs food taste of the gel and the kids don't like it.
  • Which members of the family tested the wipes?
me and my two DDs
  • What did you think of the texture of the product?
It's good to have the rougher side for palms and the softer side for the backs of the hands. The DCs liked the texture and felt like it really 'scrubbed' the germs off
  • What did think about the fragrance?
We liked it. Not too strong and dissipated soon after use leaving a nice, subtle scent on the hands
  • What did you think about the after feel?
I was surprised at how soft our hands felt after using the wipes. The wipes didn't dry out how skin as I thought they might.
  • What did you think of the packaging?
It has a medicinal/pharmacy look to the packaging (blue with the red cross by Sani Hands), and both DDs liked the colour. It's also reassuring to see the wipes offer 'up to 6 hours protection'
  • Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
At home, and out at local parks for picnics
  • Would you recommend this product?
I would recommend the wipes as I do think they clean more thoroughly than other anti-bac wipes on the market.

  • Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different?

I usually keep one of the little bottles of gel in the car and my handbag, but I find these are easy to use to much (Especially the kids!

  • Which members of the family tested the wipes?

2 Adults and 3 children used them after a long walk through the woods, looking for bugs and beetle before we had our picnic

  • What did you think of the texture of the product?
I thought the texture was really good, my hands felt cleaner like more germs had been removed
  • What did think about the fragrance?

I thought the fragrance was fine, not too chemical smelling

  • What did you think about the after feel?
I thought my hands felt really clean and soft!
  • What did you think of the packaging?
I thought this pack was the perfect size to keep in my handbag - but I would need a much bigger pack for the car!!! It would also be good if they were sold in bundles of the smaller packs so that I could keep some at home, in the car, in my bag etc
  • Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes?
We used these after we had been for a long walk through Lickey Hills County park - whilst we were there we were picking up leaves, looking under rocks and touching all sorts of things! the kids also had a good play in the playground, before we ate our picnic, it was great to know our hands were clean before eating
  • Would you recommend this product?
I would recommend this as they left my hands feeling really clean and they dried much quicker than the bottles of gels
Rigbyroo · 29/08/2017 17:48
  • Do you currently use antibacterial hand wipes or gels? If yes, how were these different? Currently keep a gel in my bag but don't like how it dries out my hands and leaves a horrid taste.
  • Which members of the family tested the wipes? Myself, partner and two children 5 and 3.
  • What did you think of the texture of the product? Really liked it, felt as if it was really doing its job!
  • What did think about the fragrance? Not fussed, neither liked nor disliked.

  • What did you think of the packaging? Easy to use and clear what it was.
  • Where did you use the Sani Hands Anti-bacterial Hand Wipes? On beach holiday and soft play.
  • Would you recommend this product? Yes most definitely
