We have a very exciting product test for you...We've been asked by Samsung to find 30 Mumsnetters to try out their new G-Series American-style fridge freezer (average selling price £1,800) in their home and give feedback on Talk. Everyone who is selected to take part and adds their feedback will get to keep the fridge freezer forever!

This is what Samsung says about the product: "With the new G-Series three door American-style fridge freezer, you will get lots more storage space thanks to thin wall insulation technology. You also get the benefit of some really clever features, all designed to make your life easier. A plumbed dispenser gives you chilled and filtered ice and water on tap, foldable shelves mean you can fit all your food and drink in irrespective of their size, shape, width or breadth, and FreshSafe Vegetable drawers give you the best humidity levels to preserve vitamins and nutrients in any fruits and vegetables you?re storing. Even better is the CoolSelect Pantry which acts as a mini fridge within a fridge. It?s an independently controlled drawer which can be set to three different temperatures, so you can be sure you are storing your food at the right temperature."

There are a number of criteria for taking part in this project - to take part you must:

  • Live in mainland UK
  • Be willing to provide two lots of feedback (once when the fridge freezer has just been delivered and again after a couple of months) which will appear on MN and may be used for marketing by Samsung (they will link to the feedback thread from their website - you can namechange for the feedback if you like)
  • Be available at home for one weekday in the next 2-3 weeks (date to be arranged with Samsung) for delivery
  • Have space, electricity and a cold water supply (for ice and water dispenser) for a fridge freezer this size in your kitchen (or wherever it would live) - click here for more information on dimensions etc

If you are selected to take part, the fridge freezer will be delivered free of charge but Samsung aren't able to remove any old appliances so you would need to arrange for any existing fridge freezer occupying the space to be removed yourself.

You will get to keep the new fridge freezer once the product test is finished - so long as you add at least 2 lots of feedback on Mumsnet. Feedback will focus on overall impressions of the fridge freezer, the flexibility of the storage space inside it, any features you particularly like etc.

If you are interested in taking part please sign up here.

Thanks

One of those objectum sexualis (or whatever it is called) people who appear in Closer now and again was in love with a fairground ride in Pennsylvania that I have actually ridden on.

DirtyMartini · 29/07/2011 12:07

Not that I read Closer except in the supermarket queue

GetOrfMoiLand · 29/07/2011 12:08

Hahaha at you having been on that roller coaster. I read that article, didn't she name the roller coaster Frank or something? (I read it in the dentists honest guv Wink)

GetOrfMoiLand · 29/07/2011 12:09

That woman has ridden that rollercoaster as well

pengymum · 29/07/2011 12:10

Can't be a mumsnetter surely? We are too enamoured with our fabulous Fridges too be trying to sell them so soon|? In 20 years or so maybe but already? Grin
Does seem a tad cheap too!
Anyway there is no way I would let Fridgypie go - couldn't afford anything near this and any money would be frittered away. Much rather keep and stroke periodically, while sipping my chilled water and ice cubes. (on a diet now as can't let the side down, have to try to look sleek and slim as befits the partner of such magnificence!)

DirtyMartini · 29/07/2011 12:11

I think it had some sort of name from the manufacturers (German maybe?) and she either used that, or had shortened it to a nickname.

I could see it happening with this fridge, tbh. It's taller than DP, for a start.

Macaroona · 29/07/2011 12:12

Shock at someone selling it!

I guess there's nothing to stop anyone doing that. I could never justify or afford a fridge like this - not for a long time anyway - so am damn well hanging on to it! Also am slightly in love with the idea of it already and it's not even here yet! Am surprised though that there's no visit from Samsung to check up that we're still using it though Hmm

DirtyMartini · 29/07/2011 12:12

I rode it with numerous other people, like some sort of orgy.

TheRealMBJ · 29/07/2011 12:18

Who would sell such a beautiful piece of domestic art and at such a ridiculous price? I love my new ff. And we could never afford something like it anyway, so feel very very lucky.

DH keeps getting told off for not following my system when putting stuff back in the fridge. Does he not realise that it is a shrine to iciness? It should not be befouled with disorganisation.

GetOrfMoiLand · 29/07/2011 12:21

I am not letting DP touch it.

He will put things in the wrong place or may spill milk.

DurhamDurham · 29/07/2011 13:35

My dh said "Imagine how upset you're going to be when we first break it, when we break the plastic shelves or when the girls snap the cup rest on the water dispenser"........it's almost like he's planning it, I think he feels threatened/replaced/usurped!!

ilovesprouts · 29/07/2011 14:41

anyone got any pics of the new beast Envy

LaVitaBellissima · 29/07/2011 16:44

Dp just tried to pollute the fridge!

First thing he tried to put in it? Magners cider!

I stopped him & put a bottle of Veuve instead Grin

Pekkala · 29/07/2011 17:04

Good thinking LaVita - I'm going to slip in a bottle of fizz now so it gets christened properly when I get back (Even if it still can't be switched on til 8pm).
I love the lights
I love the wheels
I love the pantry bit.
Sigh.

LaVitaBellissima · 29/07/2011 18:32

Pizza thingie is in the freezer! I only buy fresh pizza & was looking in the wrong place!

Definitely missing a wine rack, & what's the metal bit for?

Love it though Smile

nenevomito · 29/07/2011 19:28

Where in the freezer, where, where????

There's a tilting thing in the freezer, but no way can you fit a 406mm pizza in it!

tethersend · 29/07/2011 20:14

Oh Christ.

IT'S ENORMOUS.

WhipMeIndiana · 29/07/2011 20:31

mygirllollipop · 29/07/2011 20:46

I second the 'get rid of the can rack and put a wine rack in instead!' campaign.

TheRealMBJ · 29/07/2011 21:22

Me too!

MrsKwazii · 29/07/2011 22:18

With you all on the need for a winerack

Tequilamockinbird · 29/07/2011 22:46

Does everybody elses crushed ice come out in a big whooooooosh and therefore go all over the floor too? Or am I doing something wrong?

TheRealMBJ · 30/07/2011 09:06

You need to have a wide rim glass and hold it right up to the dispensing hole.
