We have a very exciting product test for you...We've been asked by Samsung to find 30 Mumsnetters to try out their new G-Series American-style fridge freezer (average selling price £1,800) in their home and give feedback on Talk. Everyone who is selected to take part and adds their feedback will get to keep the fridge freezer forever!

This is what Samsung says about the product: "With the new G-Series three door American-style fridge freezer, you will get lots more storage space thanks to thin wall insulation technology. You also get the benefit of some really clever features, all designed to make your life easier. A plumbed dispenser gives you chilled and filtered ice and water on tap, foldable shelves mean you can fit all your food and drink in irrespective of their size, shape, width or breadth, and FreshSafe Vegetable drawers give you the best humidity levels to preserve vitamins and nutrients in any fruits and vegetables you?re storing. Even better is the CoolSelect Pantry which acts as a mini fridge within a fridge. It?s an independently controlled drawer which can be set to three different temperatures, so you can be sure you are storing your food at the right temperature."

There are a number of criteria for taking part in this project - to take part you must:

  • Live in mainland UK
  • Be willing to provide two lots of feedback (once when the fridge freezer has just been delivered and again after a couple of months) which will appear on MN and may be used for marketing by Samsung (they will link to the feedback thread from their website - you can namechange for the feedback if you like)
  • Be available at home for one weekday in the next 2-3 weeks (date to be arranged with Samsung) for delivery
  • Have space, electricity and a cold water supply (for ice and water dispenser) for a fridge freezer this size in your kitchen (or wherever it would live) - click here for more information on dimensions etc

If you are selected to take part, the fridge freezer will be delivered free of charge but Samsung aren't able to remove any old appliances so you would need to arrange for any existing fridge freezer occupying the space to be removed yourself.

You will get to keep the new fridge freezer once the product test is finished - so long as you add at least 2 lots of feedback on Mumsnet. Feedback will focus on overall impressions of the fridge freezer, the flexibility of the storage space inside it, any features you particularly like etc.

If you are interested in taking part please sign up here.

Thanks

Me, me, me! I'm on mat leave and about to be made redundant (shamless aren't I) pity poor me and give me one! Also I have the space and water supply!

thelambliesdown · 06/07/2011 21:56

Fingers crossed here !

mmsparkle · 06/07/2011 21:59

I'll happily leave feedback, for a new fridgefreezer! Would consider extending the kitchen to fit it in, as well!
Seriously - would need to talk to DH about plumbing of cold water supply, but otherwise YES PLEASE!

thebestisyettocome · 06/07/2011 22:01

Me please. We are getting a new kitchen so definitely have space and I would happily give lots of feedback.

lubeybooby · 06/07/2011 22:04

Done, would love to give it a go

Monty27 · 06/07/2011 22:06

I've applied, I have a Beko at the minute, need to take note of model, I bought in 2005 Shock

PaperView · 06/07/2011 22:09

damn i got all excited cos we have one of the dodgy Beko ones but it's far to huge for my tiny kitchen :(

BerryLellow · 06/07/2011 22:11

ME!

VampiresReflection · 06/07/2011 22:12

PLEASE pick me. My current one seems to be making loads of new loud noises.

Triggles · 06/07/2011 22:38

As an American, I will admit I miss my huge double door fridge-freezer. Grin But I have to admit, I would be hesitant regarding those from Samsung. Have they fixed that fault that causes it to ice up in back and overheat the coil things, causing failure? As that was a massive flaw in the design of some sort that, to the best of my knowledge, hasn't been fixed yet.

I assume those who are chosen will get a substantial length warranty on it? Hmm

Best of luck all.

1973magpie · 06/07/2011 22:40

Yes please Grin

The seals in our fridge freezer doors are going and it's like a full-on polar expedition at the moment just to retrieve the fishfingers!

Also, we have the space, electricity and water supplies ready and waiting Smile

Tortington · 06/07/2011 22:52

PLeeeeeeeease yes please

lisad123 · 06/07/2011 23:01

i need a new fridge freezer, mine is crap, it leaks, it freezes things that are in the fridge, its in the sillest of spaces and i hate it!

SchrodingersMew · 06/07/2011 23:04

Oh gawd, I am desperate for this one. :( !

lisad123 · 06/07/2011 23:05

lisad123 · 06/07/2011 23:06

SchrodingersMew · 06/07/2011 23:11

Haha, I think at the minute I would fight for it! How pathetic is that! :(

HumperdinkFangboner · 06/07/2011 23:22

Boo @ mainland UK! ignores tiny kitchen problem

muminthecity · 06/07/2011 23:33

I have applied, I hope I get it, my current fridge is an old second hand one with no handle (it fell off!)

HerRoyalNotness · 06/07/2011 23:36

"You will get to keep the new fridge freezer " Envy

NerfHerder · 06/07/2011 23:38

I have one - it's just packed up Sad

SchrodingersMew · 06/07/2011 23:41

Mumsnet, when will it be announced who gets picked?

maiT · 07/07/2011 00:00

loolest

fruitshootsandheaves · 07/07/2011 00:31

We are just about to look into replacing our freezer so this would be great! The handles were a really poor design on our current model and broke every few months and the freezer bit is much too small and has a very unreliable fan, would be perfect timing for a new one!

MrsKitty · 07/07/2011 00:48

Ooooh - Me please! And it will be positioned right next to the cold water supply (I think - will check with DH Blush) which makes me a perfect candidate, surely? Grin.
