We have a very exciting product test for you...We've been asked by Samsung to find 30 Mumsnetters to try out their new G-Series American-style fridge freezer (average selling price £1,800) in their home and give feedback on Talk. Everyone who is selected to take part and adds their feedback will get to keep the fridge freezer forever!

This is what Samsung says about the product: "With the new G-Series three door American-style fridge freezer, you will get lots more storage space thanks to thin wall insulation technology. You also get the benefit of some really clever features, all designed to make your life easier. A plumbed dispenser gives you chilled and filtered ice and water on tap, foldable shelves mean you can fit all your food and drink in irrespective of their size, shape, width or breadth, and FreshSafe Vegetable drawers give you the best humidity levels to preserve vitamins and nutrients in any fruits and vegetables you?re storing. Even better is the CoolSelect Pantry which acts as a mini fridge within a fridge. It?s an independently controlled drawer which can be set to three different temperatures, so you can be sure you are storing your food at the right temperature."

There are a number of criteria for taking part in this project - to take part you must:

  • Live in mainland UK
  • Be willing to provide two lots of feedback (once when the fridge freezer has just been delivered and again after a couple of months) which will appear on MN and may be used for marketing by Samsung (they will link to the feedback thread from their website - you can namechange for the feedback if you like)
  • Be available at home for one weekday in the next 2-3 weeks (date to be arranged with Samsung) for delivery
  • Have space, electricity and a cold water supply (for ice and water dispenser) for a fridge freezer this size in your kitchen (or wherever it would live) - click here for more information on dimensions etc

If you are selected to take part, the fridge freezer will be delivered free of charge but Samsung aren't able to remove any old appliances so you would need to arrange for any existing fridge freezer occupying the space to be removed yourself.

You will get to keep the new fridge freezer once the product test is finished - so long as you add at least 2 lots of feedback on Mumsnet. Feedback will focus on overall impressions of the fridge freezer, the flexibility of the storage space inside it, any features you particularly like etc.

If you are interested in taking part please sign up here.

Thanks

Has anyone had to adjust the level of the fridge? Ours is leaning over so we are trying (and failing) to follow the instructions. The delivery guy said it was easy, but we're stumped!

LaVitaBellissima · 23/07/2011 14:43

I am so excited, roll on Friday!

MrsKwazii · 23/07/2011 15:20

It's here, it's here, it's here! It is the finest looking fridge-freezer I've ever seen and I can't believe how happy a kitchen appliance has made me Grin

Thank you very, very much MN and Samsung Smile

The delivery men were lovely. I was the last drop off of the day and they said they'd never seen so many women so happy Wink

We had no trouble plumbing ours in as the previous owners of our house had something similar so all of the plumbing was in place, ready to rock and roll. Just having to wait now for the magical three hours to pass so that I can switch it on

MrsKwazii · 23/07/2011 16:30

Right, we've turned it on. It's like a disco fridge! The lights are really fab - including some in the freezer Grin

And the ice-maker offers you a choice of crushed or cubed. I have my cocktail book ready, and have put champers in to chill. Kir Royale anyone?

Monty27 · 23/07/2011 17:18

MrsK that's what I said about the lights too Grin they're fab

MBJ thanks!

My friend's dh is coming round in a bit to see what he'll need to plumb His Fridginess in. :)

smarmyarmy · 24/07/2011 08:38

Wow we have the fridge and how amazing is it??? A cross between a time machine and a tardis with disco lights!!! I love it!!! And so much space. I feel spoiled! Delivery men were really helpful and friendly. It was a struggle getting it in through the kitchen door. They had to take the hinges off my kitchen door but they managed to squeeze it in. All is well and I am enjoying the fridge!

MrsKwazii · 24/07/2011 15:11

I'm loving having ice on tap today - very hot here - and am drinking way more water than I usually do, which can only be a good thing, because I'm loving playing with the water and ice functions Blush

ilovesprouts · 24/07/2011 19:22

anyone got pics of the new fridge dying to see the lights EnvyWink

Tequilamockinbird · 25/07/2011 07:27

Sprint are installing as we speak! I'm in total awe of it's amazingness, absolutely beautiful! They got it in here without any problems, didn't need to take the doors off or anything.

Will report back later once it's up and running.

Still GrinGrinGrin

1 hour to go until switch on!

WhipMeIndiana, you must be getting a different delivery squad as I asked if they had any more of these beauties to deliver today and they didn't.

To those of you who got yours last week, do I have to leave it switched on for so long before I can fill it? In my excitement I forgot to ask! Blush

TheRealMBJ · 25/07/2011 10:43

I waited for it to get down to temperature 3degrees on the fridge side and -19 for the freezer. It just made sense to do that I didn't ask.

Tequilamockinbird · 25/07/2011 10:54

Oh of course, it has a digital temp display! Blush

5 mins!

MrsKwazii · 25/07/2011 14:50

The touchscreen bit on the front is like all my sci-fi Christmases come at once. Beaming you up now Grin Blush

WhipMeIndiana · 25/07/2011 14:55

Kwazi you funny sci-fi freak Grin

DurhamDurham · 25/07/2011 15:56

My fridgefreezer is being delivered on thursday and I cannot wait!

I've just cleaned out the utility room and sorted out the cupboards so they can feed the tube through them, we seem to already have a Y-thingy so not sure what else I need to do in advance. Any tips? And just how BIG is it? Measurements mean nothing to me, so how big is it compared to a 'normal' fridgefreezer? Smile

mygirllollipop · 25/07/2011 16:50

Mine took about 3hrs to reach temperature after switching on. Must take some pics of it almost fully stocked up with lights on etc.

TheRealMBJ · 25/07/2011 17:13

It's about 1.5 times the width of our old fridge and a little deeper.

nenevomito · 25/07/2011 17:53

Hello! The Fridginator is all switched on and ready to go.

Has anyone else worked out where this tilting pocket that can store a 406mm pizza is as we can't find it. There's the little tilting one in the freezer, but the pizza one?

Can anyone put us our of our misery?

It says "The tilting pocket can be used to store up to a 406mm pizza if you place it as shown in the illiustration. But then the illustration is tiny so you can't see what its referring to.

I've already put the child lock on the ice after my child discovered the ice :)
