To realise I like old lady things

I bought some Yardley perfume for my grandmother and haven't been able to give it to her due to lockdown. I really like it and am going to buy some for me.
Also, I've started looking at those pointy cross-your hearty bras and thinking they look comfy and I quite like the shape, without having to cope with underwires (which I hate).
I'm 37, not 73. Are there any other old lady things I might like please?

Massive pants are amazing.

SpeedofaSloth · 20/06/2020 15:17

YY to massive pants. I bought some in Sainsbury's by mistake (thought they were hi-legs) and they are amazing.

Try Sketchers Go Walk . Your feet and face will be in heaven

I love big knickers, lavender and rose scented perfumes, I prefer tearooms to bars these days!

mothtoaflame · 20/06/2020 15:25

I'm 42 and love wearing my apron for cleaning and cooking, Agatha Christie books, jigsaw puzzles, blankets, hot water bottles and visiting the library.

I also love loud house music, going clubbing, my peloton bike, Topshop and Yoga.

Nothing wrong with embracing your old lady tendencies but don't let them define you 😉

AiryFairyMum · 20/06/2020 15:29

Ahh yes, I bought massive pants when I was pregnant and never went back afterwards. Just so comfortable!

Powdery perfume? Which ones are there? I only know prada iris and I love it.
I also love tea, cake, gardening, pottering around, and am currently rereading all my Ruth Rendell books, similar to agatha christie

Lily of the valley perfume.
Old lady sandals.
Stewed beef from a tin.
Big pants. Personally I love them. Brought them for post birth. Still in them 6 weeks later. Fully intend to keep them til they fall apart. So comfortable.

AiryFairyMum · 20/06/2020 15:50

Also, I forgot my favourite shoes - Hotter, FipFlop and Birkenstocks.

Cheesypea yes!!

Oh, I love a good episode of Murder She Wrote! I must admit, I am a fan of big knickers and have recently found a love for non-padded bras as they are much more comfortable. I also bought some nude tights accidently in 50 denier the other day and I realised I've reached little old lady territory!

May I recommend Anais Anais perfume, a big massive pot of proper Nivea (what was the other cream called?) and pan stick make up (I actually still use pan stick!). Oh and talc in a little tub with a powder puff.

Carouselfish · 20/06/2020 15:57

Agatha Christie, Remonte sandals, knitted blankets!
