£10 a day thread, January part two

I'm so happy to see the thread has been ticking along with so many new people joining us Grin

It's been a shitty couple of weeks for me. I started out the new year with an awful sore throat, and it turns out I have glandular fever, so I've been too exhausted for any serious money making.

I'm actually really enjoying Chip! It's proving to be a great way to stash all the little bits of money from profilic etc. so I can see it actually adding up to something.

This morning I've switched bank accounts (£100 for joining, then £100 if I leave unhappy in six months) and managed to reduce my life insurance policy by £9 a month, and get £85 cashback for doing so via Quidco, so I'm trying to be productive.

Hope everyone is having a good January.

Thank you so much for the new thread @otterses, the last one was unbelievably helpful! Sorry you've not been well, hope the rest of the month improves.

seizethecuttlefish · 13/01/2020 08:55

Yay for the new thread. Hope your year gets better @Otterses.

Lougle · 13/01/2020 08:56

I hope you're well soon, otterses.

Wolfff · 13/01/2020 09:07

Hope you're feeling better soon @Otterses

I've had a slow start due to a virus and overseas visitors. I have been continuing with my Appen project and tentative Crisping. Still not sure what I'm doing but getting there slowly.

otterses · 13/01/2020 09:09

I'm glad you found it helpful @spacepoppers Smile

And thank you both. I'm honestly not too sure what to do with myself. I feel really pathetic calling in sick when I was so optimistic about being back when I spoke to my manager last Thursday!

Hope you are feeling better soon @otterses 😘

Spartonian · 13/01/2020 10:10

I'm still have trouble with 20 Cogs, I have about 4/5 that are still grey even after a week, have already submitted the evidence and the money has been added to pending but cog still grey.

EmmaNumberThree · 13/01/2020 10:16

Get well soon @otterses

Spartonian · 13/01/2020 10:19

Not had anything for a few days on Prolific.

Still not brave enough for MB.

EmmaNumberThree · 13/01/2020 10:21

@Spartonian I find prolific totally hit and miss, and you need to be online to catch them. I haven't done MB either but am tempted to try.

Flube · 13/01/2020 10:37

Anybody taken a lionbridge exam? I have no idea what to expect, but sounds like there's quite a bit to it.

After looking at teamprofit, MB finally seemed to sink in. So I took the plunge yesterday, starting with £25. I thought I got it, the videos made it look so easy.

But I fucked up my trigger bet by placing my lay on the wrong team! Meant I lost over half of my pot. Fortunately I have managed to gain most of it back with the free bets. Still a couple of quid down, but better than less than half!

On the plus side, I NOW get it. So shall be starting from scratch.

10adayfor2020 · 13/01/2020 10:43

On Appen my salway “see progress” is gone on the active processes screen, but is there on the all projects list, yet when I click on it it takes me to a different one on the active processes. Anyone know what this means?

justtheonethen · 13/01/2020 11:09

@otterses sorry you're so poorly. GF is awful. Rest up.

I'm chuffed to bits - got a new student starting on Thursday - I used to tutor a lot but haven't since having my daughter. £40 for an hour a week will help me immensely. I plan to put it in a pot for my mat leave as a top up. Would be over £800 which would be handy!

madasaboxofcats · 13/01/2020 11:10

Thanks moneyshed - free money is my favourite! Grin

rhij86 · 13/01/2020 11:21

Hi all, jumping on to the new thread.
My appen projects have now all finished! So I'm feeling a bit despondent at the moment. On the plus side I started my lecturing gig at the university last week, so that should bring in around £300 a month for the next 3 months.
@otterses sorry you're poorly - I've not been well either - had a cold/flu/chest infection hanging around since mid December! Frustrating as I can't take anything for it due to being pregnant.

Any bright ideas for something similar to appen that I can do would be gratefully received! I'm going to try applying to crisp again and upping the hours I'm available but not holding my breath.

ZetaPuppis · 13/01/2020 11:26

@otterses hope you get well soon.
Thanks for the new thread.

DontCallMeDarling · 13/01/2020 11:43

@otterses get better soon

margaritasbythesea · 13/01/2020 11:50

Thanks for the new thread Otterses. Get well soon.

Did you enjoy the uni teaching rhij86?

pisspants · 13/01/2020 11:53

@otterses hope you start feeling better soon, there have been some really horrible bugs and viruses around this winter.

I haven't been on the last couple of threads but have been ticking along with my Appen Saluda and Nile projects. I just wondered if anyone has had an email saying their Appen invoice has been put forward for payment? It seems quite late this month and really need the money through from them with January being the longest month ever!!!!

BertieBotts · 13/01/2020 12:07

OK I've jumped in a bit more since the last thread :)

Done some BeMyEye this morning for a hopeful €18.70 - but I was a bit hasty and clicked on it last night without seriously thinking about the time limit so by the time I had finished and was uploading it, it had just gone over the time period (literally about 30 seconds over at 90% uploaded.... doh) so fingers crossed it still goes through. Not sure how they count that.

Signed up to a couple of probably pointless apps, one step counter (thought if I was going to do mystery shopping, I may as well try and count it twice) and some crappy game type ones - so far quite addictive but seems you have to play for hours to get any payout. I might continue on those for night/nap feeds or I might scrap that idea.

rhij86 · 13/01/2020 12:17

@margaritasbythesea I was insanely nervous beforehand but I actually loved it! I know it was only the first week so everything could change, but I'm feeling more certain that's what I want to end up doing full time :)

Madre77 · 13/01/2020 12:32

@otterses thank you for updating the thread feel better soon Smile. This thread is my bible. Is anyone else really getting into Freetrade or is it just me?
