If you’re going through this, you’re not alone. I’ll post some links to support organisations shortly, but feel free to post, or just read, whatever you need. Flowers

@LaurenFM it really is. Fingers crossed for you when you start again! I don't know whether to try again with my next cycle or wait for all the supplements to kick in ( which is 2-3 months) but I don't feel like I can wait that long x

LaurenFM · 31/05/2022 08:58

@calimc83 ohh that’s so hard. I’m worried we won’t catch as quick as we did our 1st attempt so I’m reluctant to wait too long. But will give the book a read as willing to try anything. I feel like it’s so hard to know what’s best isn’t it. Utter minefield. Hopefully the supplements kick in quickly for you x

calimc83 · 31/05/2022 09:43

@LaurenFM how long did it take u to catch with your first? They arrive today 😆 - might have to double dose for a few weeks! X

LaurenFM · 31/05/2022 09:53

@calimc83 i came off the pill beginning of January and caught by the end of that month. I couldn’t believe it. So hoping it doesn’t take long but of course with much better results 🤞🏻🤞🏻🍀🍀

Hahaa yes do it! It’s hard not to get obsessed by it all isn’t it! X

calimc83 · 31/05/2022 10:42

@LaurenFM ohh that is quick!! X

calimc83 · 31/05/2022 16:16

Spoke with the GP earlier. She was really understanding for once. Has booked me in for a full set of bloods to be taken so at least that's something. X

Sunbird24 · 31/05/2022 16:44

That’s good @calimc83, saves you a few pennies not having to do them privately

@Sunbird24 exactly...do u know what else the recurrent miscarriage clinic tend to test for? Not sure whether to go down that route or not x

LaurenFM · 31/05/2022 17:47

@calimc83 thats great news! Fingers crossed results come back good for you 🤞🏻

Sunbird24 · 31/05/2022 18:27

The good thing for me with the consultant at the RMC is that she prescribed me all the drugs I would have had to pay for through my private clinic otherwise, but you shouldn’t have that problem. If you’ve had recurrent miscarriages then to my mind you ought to be referred to the clinic for it though, as they’re specialists and the GP isn’t. I can’t remember all the things they tested for, only that they were very thorough!

@Sunbird24 ah ok! I never even thought about the cost of drugs etc so something to think about. Saying that I got a letter through from the NHS with a referral for the MC clinic for beginning of July. Wonder if I should just hang on till then rather than going a few weeks earlier and having to pay x

calimc83 · 31/05/2022 20:07

@LaurenFM thanks! X

I probably would, as that’s only really a month away now, but it depends on the costs involved and whether you want to wait at all.

@Sunbird24 think I'll try hang on 😬 x

Ninzkm · 31/05/2022 23:45

Hii, could really do with some advice. I'm currently going through a miscarriage (confirmed yesterday gestation 5 weeks). I've been bleeding for the past 8 days. Just wanted to know will it be painful? Is it like labour? Or Will it pass just like a period with clots.

Sunbird24 · 01/06/2022 03:48

Hi @Ninzkm, I’m so sorry for your loss Flowers At 5 weeks it’s likely to be similar to a bad period, and manageable with your usual pain relief/hot water bottle, but of course everyone is different. If you need stronger painkillers you should be able to get something from your local pharmacy, and watch out for the bleeding getting out of control. Keep yourself hydrated, and if you can try and have an iron-rich diet this week (red meat, eggs, dark green leafy veg, dark chocolate - Vit C helps your body absorb iron too) Most importantly, be kind to yourself, this is a tough ride emotionally.

Thankyou @Sunbird24. I've rang 111 emergency service but they weren't that helpful at all. Do blood clots pass through too? I've had some already big and small. I have a re-scan next week at the hospital so I hope it's all out by then.

Cdoc · 01/06/2022 09:56

So sorry for your loss @Ninzkm , I’m 8 days into mine (missed miscarriage at 9 weeks) and the emotional upset has really taken me by surprise, so please be kind to yourself and allow yourself time to grieve 🌸

Ninzkm · 01/06/2022 11:21

@Cdoc your right. I'm trying too hard to remain strong maybe it's because I have a 1 year old whose so needy right now. I would have been having my 12 weeks scan next week and 6 months ago I lost my mum. Its been a upsetting several months. I just pray things get better 😔

calimc83 · 01/06/2022 11:34

@Ninzkm @Cdoc so sorry for your losses. It's emotionally so painful. I'm coming up to 3 weeks since my 2nd MMC. I've found this board incredibly supportive x

Cdoc · 01/06/2022 11:43

Oh @Ninzkm you’ve been through so much, I’m so sorry for the loss of your mum too. I can’t imagine how you must be feeling, but please know that you’re not alone. Things will get better, they have to.

@calimc83 thank you, so sorry for your losses too. The community of people that know how you feel really seems to help. I am hoping time helps, it all just feels like a daze at the moment.

calimc83 · 01/06/2022 19:59

@Cdoc thank you. It really does help, you'll have days when it really hurts and days when you feel ok. It dies gradually get better and better though xx

Cdoc · 02/06/2022 10:02

@calimc83 thank you, that is what I am hoping. I had a scan this morning showing everything has passed, and some of the pregnancy symptoms are starting to disappear, I just need to decide when I feel up to doing the pregnancy test and trying again. It feels like such a big hill to climb to try again x

Sending you lots of love, I have my re-scan next week. Quick question I've been bleeding for the past 2 weeks, not even heavy, will it get heavy? Gestation 5 weeks I was told.

calimc83 · 02/06/2022 18:25

@Cdoc I know, I feel exactly the same. I'm in two minds over what to do. I already have 2 children, but this yearning for a 3rd won't go...I also feel like I've used up all my luck with my two and that's why I'm being punished with these MC's now. Last time I MC we started trying again straight away, getting pregnant really helped me over the last MC as well so if it were to happen a 3rd time I just don't know how I'll cope. That's good news that your scan is clear and symptoms decreasing...just did a pregnancy test and it's now showing negative. 3 weeks to the day. X
