Period after miscarriage

Hello, I had surgical management mid July and I'm losing the will to live waiting for my period.

I know that it can often take around 6 weeks to return but I have had very strong period cramps for the past 2 weeks and no sign of AF.

Have also had a few follow up scans which showed no issues.

My OPK results have also been wild- had a peak on 11/08 and then another almost peak on 20/08. Today they are fairly dark again. We haven't tried this month so not sure why I've done the ovulation tests, just for fun I suppose.

Does anybody have any experience similar to this??

@Shortmamashortcycles

Hoping some kind of normality comes from your game of snakes and ladders soon 🥺

You're right with that, it's awful. Nothing is clear! I have a headache from the tizz I got myself into and I'm literally drained. I'm making a promise to be kinder to myself and stop with this horrible obsessive searching and over symptomising. My time will come and so will all you ladies x

Sdoubleyou · 01/10/2021 17:55

@amyh2012, that's as bad as evap lines! I wish I had an answer for the LH surge conundrum. Were your periods regular before? Did you track before the MC? It's so frustrating to wait for things to get normal. My philosophy until my body got back regular was to DTD every three days "just in case". Made me feel like if all else fails we're doing what we can and that my body would get pregnant again when it was ready. (I'm saying this now as if I had been all serene about it, which is far from the case!)

@MegM14, I got a masters in POAS after my MMC 😂. But I'm the type of person who needs data. It's a fine line between knowing and obsessing. For me I found tracking with the cheapies and the app gave me peace of mind, even when it was a little crazy. It was easier to see the crazy than be totally in the dark.

@Shortmamashortcycles, so sorry you're in this group, but it's so nice to have a group of people who understand. I'd take it as a great sign that you got AF. It's like the second-best outcome :)

amyh2012 · 01/10/2021 18:16

@Sdoubleyou thanks for answering even if you don't have an answer (not that I expect you to) it's so nice to have the support and to talk to others.
My cycles weren't regular, I came off the pill in late December and they started at 52, 46 and then 32 and then I fell pregnant so I've literally no clue!

Just going to dtd all weekend and hope I haven't missed my peak thinking it was a surge for pregnancy like last time 🤷🏼‍♀️ that's all I can do.

I've actually found some comfort knowing where I'm up too and that my ovulation actually works 💔

Newgirl21 · 01/10/2021 20:03

@amyh2012, I’m so sorry things are so unclear, it’s heartbreaking and disheartening to not know where your cycle is 😔 I’m sorry your going through this. My fingers are still tightly crossed for you, don’t give up hope.

@Shortmamashortcycles I’m sorry for your loss 😔😢 the limbo stage really is awful, I hope it regulates soon. Be kind to yourself.

Quick question guys… and I’m sorry if it’s tmi.
So my husband and I done the deed for the first time since my period ended (5 days ago) and annoyingly I started bleeding again - like straight after. Has anyone experienced this?

amyh2012 · 01/10/2021 20:12

@Newgirl21 thank you for your kind words! It's absolutely hell right now!

I'm not sure about that question, I wouldn't worry about the fact you dtd and now you're bleeding I wouldn't say it's that. It might've been a shock to the system 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm not sure 🤔 I've never had it before in that situation as ours are polar opposite with the bleeding.

Have you googled (of course you probs have if you're anything like me 🤣)

I google the weather abd wonder if it's cos I'm pregnant 😩🤣

Shortmamashortcycles · 01/10/2021 20:34

@Newgirl21, no such thing as TMI! How much bleeding? A bit of pink or brown, or red?

I can think of a few options: most likely your cervix is feeling a bit fragile and decided to bleed a bit, could be something called cervical erosion (weird name) which just means a few cells on your cervix are prone to bleeding - more common after pregnancy or mc. Could be ovulation bleeding, which I've never had but sounds legit - caused by hormone changes around ovulation.

Has it stopped now?

Newgirl21 · 01/10/2021 20:38

Thank you @amyh2012,
I know exactly what you mean. I google EVERYTHING! At the moment it’s like I’m looking to see if there’s connections between the miscarriage and any slight change in the body 🙈🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s just such a long process.

Newgirl21 · 01/10/2021 20:41

Thanks @Shortmamashortcycles,
It was red, lasted for the half the day and I needed to wear a pad. But seems to have stopped now.
Those options actually make a lot of sense 🤔 Thank you so much x

Sdoubleyou · 01/10/2021 20:43

I am dying laughing, agree with all! Google everything!

I've definitely bled after sex. I've even called my DP a plunger (how's that for TMI!) But seriously, I've noticed especially in the last months that I spot sometimes after sex. I asked my OB-GYN about it and it's pretty normal. I also had the same question, what kind of bleeding was it?

Sdoubleyou · 01/10/2021 20:44

@Newgirl21, just saw your message.

Newgirl21 · 01/10/2021 20:56

‘The plunger’ 😂😂🙈😂 I actually just laughed out loud😂- got the strangest look from my hubby 🤪
Thanks for the reassurance 🙂

amyh2012 · 01/10/2021 21:48

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 the plunger 🪠

Love it!!!

Sdoubleyou · 04/10/2021 17:21

I ovulated over the weekend and am now officially in the tww. Fingers crossed! How's everyone doing?

amyh2012 · 04/10/2021 19:56

@Sdoubleyou hey girl I'm on the tww too! I got my peak Friday so we're in the same boat 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Newgirl21 · 04/10/2021 20:00

Also in the same boat 🚣🏻 My peak was on Saturday. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Fingers crossed ladies ☺️

Shortmamashortcycles · 04/10/2021 20:39

Good luck! Am only CD5 so not much to report for a while...

Sdoubleyou · 04/10/2021 20:46

I've heard of cycles synching up, but thought it applied to housemates and not forum-mates 😂. Hoping for some good news for us. It'll be great to see BFPs on this thread! I'm hoping hard for you all!

amyh2012 · 04/10/2021 20:57

Omg we got this girls 🥰🥰🥰

amyh2012 · 05/10/2021 19:17

@Sdoubleyou @Newgirl21 hey ladies how are you feeling?

This 2 week wait is pure hell!!!!! It's like 3dpo and I'm wondering why I'm not pregnant yet 🤣😩

Newgirl21 · 05/10/2021 19:20

I’ve randomly started bleeding and cramping again 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s so frustrating! 🙈 my period lasted for 23days, I’ve had 10days without and it appears to be back. Wish I knew what’s going on with my body

Shortmamashortcycles · 05/10/2021 19:51

@Newgirl21, that sounds infuriating. I honestly wish I had an explanation for you, but I don't! I'm so sorry. I really hope it's just random spotting and goes away really soon.

If not, could you make a fuss at your GP and get referred to a gynae?

amyh2012 · 05/10/2021 20:12

@Newgirl21 that's sooo frustrating for you, you must be so confused and stressed out. I remember the hospital told me random spotting is totally normal up to 8 weeks after. I can't remember if it's been that long for you? Sorry, I can't scroll up when writing a message... annoyingly!!

I would still call your gp and see what's what because they might be able to help 🤞🏼

Newgirl21 · 05/10/2021 20:42

Thanks guys, I had surgical management on 28th June. It took 11weeks for my period to arrive.

I’m thinking of calling the GP again to check if it’s normal, this whole process is just so draining and long (I’m sure you guys are feeling the same)

It’s making me question whether I should just be thankful that Im lucky enough to already have a child and not ‘push my luck’ I know how blessed I am.

Sdoubleyou · 05/10/2021 20:58

@Newgirl21, oh that's really awful. I would definitely make a fuss. I had my MMC medically managed July 16th and it took two months to have normal periods. And that was the longest two months of my life, so I feel for you. Have you tried acupuncture? I did it about six weeks after my MC and my cycles are back to clockwork. I didn't used to be a believer but it's helped me a lot in the past. It gets blood flowing and regulated hormones.

I'm doing pretty alright, but I'm only 3DPO. The crazy will not set in until about 7DPO and will increase exponentially from there! Trying to stay off any websites and just do yoga and cook.
