Period after miscarriage

Hello, I had surgical management mid July and I'm losing the will to live waiting for my period.

I know that it can often take around 6 weeks to return but I have had very strong period cramps for the past 2 weeks and no sign of AF.

Have also had a few follow up scans which showed no issues.

My OPK results have also been wild- had a peak on 11/08 and then another almost peak on 20/08. Today they are fairly dark again. We haven't tried this month so not sure why I've done the ovulation tests, just for fun I suppose.

Does anybody have any experience similar to this??

I had surgery to remove the scars on my uterus on Thursday and now have 2 months of hormone therapy to hopefully help the lining heal. And then, a year after I got pregnant, we can hopefully start to try again. It's a much longer road than I was hoping for, but I just have to keep going, I guess.

@Shortmamashortcycles, good to hear that they've done the surgery! I know it isn't a real comfort, but at least it's a big step forward. Please keep us posted. Lots of love being sent your way and I hope you're being good to yourself 💛

Hey girls I’ve just logged on in what seems like forever. Omgosh @Sdoubleyou HUGE congratulations! 🥳💕 hope your feeling ok.

So far my pregnancy has been pretty tough, I developed a high thyroid - from having Covid. So I’ve been feeling soooo rough since January and extra anxious as it can cause miscarriage. It causes things like my heart racing after doing very small tasks, shakey hands, dizziness, extra sickness and increased anxiety. I feel lucky the Dr took me seriously and ran tests and didn’t just send me away with… your getting over Covid and in the early stages of pregnancy.
Drs have been keeping a close eye on me although with all the referrals… the midwife forgot to book my dating scan 🤦🏻‍♀️Luckily I chased it, my scan is today. I’m 14weeks now and thankfully my thyroid levels look like they are dropping.
Feeling anxious about today and hoping all is well 🤞🏻

@Newgirl21, thank you! My progression lines seem good so I'm stepping away from the tests and waiting for my early scan in 2.5 weeks. Just trying to ride out the anxious moments.

I'm so glad your pregnancy is progressing well. It must be really difficult to deal with the after-Covid effects though. Pregnancy after miscarriage is anxiety-riddled enough! But hopefully it'll be smoother for the next few months. Let us know how it goes today. 🤞

@Newgirl21, well done for making it through the first trimester! That's interesting that covid caused your thyroid to go haywire - I regularly take thyroid meds and in January, a month after I had covid, I found that my levels had gone way down and needed to reduce my meds. They'd been stable for ages so it was a surprise!

I am sure you're anxious but as you say, it's great they've taken it seriously and you're being properly monitored. I hope the next few months go smoothly.

I'm doing ok, thanks for checking in - I got some extra ear piercings today and bought some very tight jeans, so I'm leaning into my two months of TTC limbo! I find out in mid-May whether the surgery and healing were successful. 🤞🤞🤞

I know @Shortmamashortcycles so weird, apparently severe nausea and sickness in pregnancy can cause it or a severe infection can make the thyroid gland swell and cause thyroid issues. I’m glad it’s back in the normal range now.

My scan went well and everything looks good, which is a massive relief 😊 Hubby and I both cried. I feel I can finally relax a little. x

I meant to message a week ago but... I am pregnant! Yay! Only 6 weeks and already had a terrifying bleed, but apparently everything is fine for now.

It was a bit rocky - was cleared from the scarring in mid-May, fell pregnant immediately but had a chemical in June which was heartbreaking, then 3 cycles later here we are.

Early days but trying to think positively and be hopeful. 🤞🤞🤞
