Hi ladies! Our last thread was automatically closed because we reached the 1,000 post limit. I was hoping we would be able to start a new thread called First Pregnancy Post-MMC, but unfortunately we are not quite there yet. I know we will be someday soon! In the meantime, I hope you will all join me on here as we continue on this journey together. You have all been an invaluable source of inspiration, support, and kindness for me and I want to thank you for making me feel less alone in this.

About me, for any newcomers: First MMC in February at 12 weeks (baby passed at nine), D&C the next day, found out five weeks later that it was a partial molar pregnancy and currently undergoing follow-up with CX. Second early mc in April. Now impatiently waiting to be cleared from CX before ttc again.

Yes I echo that @Catconfusion - a big good luck for tomorrow @Amanda81 ❤️🌈 we'll be with you every step of the way and sending all our positivity your way!
@sadtoday21 This WILL be a good month, in whichever way, we're all moving forwards and healing more and more xx

sadtoday21 · 06/05/2019 20:00

Sorry for the typos - I was on the bus! Just had a thought @Catconfusion, maybe it’s etter if we don’t get a BFP this month right after the chemical. Another month might give the lining time to fully rebuild X.

OP posts:
Catconfusion · 06/05/2019 20:29

@sadtoday I think the extra month will give the lining a chance to heal a bit more after the ERPC. The doctor at the hospital said a chemical shouldn't affect the lining, if anything would thicken it. All in all I'm sure we'll both be in a better position during May. Looking forward to being cycle buddies if my cycle can keep up with yours! xx

3204ECL · 06/05/2019 20:51

@sadtoday21 sorry to hear about the BFN, it's always hard even when you're not that hopeful. I've had a bit of a down day today with AF arriving... too much time on my own to dwell.

@Amanda81 wishing you all the luck in the world for the scan tomorrow and will be thinking of you.

@LMLP91 good to hear from you and good luck with the temping! I've been temping for about 5 weeks now and have found it really helpful. It's great to help you know what's going on and in a way helps me feel a bit more in control of the situation which is something I've really struggled with through the MMC and afterwards. Hope you find it helpful as well.

@Covmum83 sorry for your loss and that you find yourself here but it's a wonderful thread and group of ladies who have been a huge support to me through this process. Always hear to listen or share our experiences so far. Wishing you the best of luck for tomorrow.

@Catconfusion got everything crossed for you test in the morning 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Wow lots of chat today I can’t keep up so sorry if I’ve missed anything.

Sorry your bfn/AF disappointments @LMLP91, @Sadtoday22, @Catconfusion, @3204ECL

Glad your walk helped you feel better @AnnaMC214

May is definitely going to be our month ladies 🤞🏻

I’m so sorry for your loss @Covmum83 surgery after having the medical management is such rotten luck. If it helps I had a thread about what to expect in my surgery and got some great advice here www.mumsnet.com/Talk/miscarriage/3504239-Missed-Miscarriage-Surgery-Experience TBH the surgery has been the most positive part of this whole experience, I wish you lots of luck. If you don’t mind me asking are you in Coventry? Just from your username as that’s where I’m originally from too. Also I had great success with keto last year but these crappy few months have made it all go to pot and I could do with losing 10 lbs again, need to get back on it!

As for me AF made its exit just in time for the wedding yesterday and I had a really great time with lots of friends I haven’t seen for ages, was just what I needed. So tired today though 😴

Good lunch for tomorrow @ Amanda81 x

Also sorry for your losses @Iram1990 @Rainbow8bubbles, hope you can find some comfort sharing here x

AnnaMC214 · 07/05/2019 06:42

Hey ladies. There was a little peanut shaped mass of cells in the sac (phew). It was measuring 5mm and there was a little flutter of a heartbeat 💗💗. They want to see me back in a couple of weeks as there was something else in there which they couldn't quite confirm on the scan, she said it was nothing to worry about. Obviously I am, but I will put it aside for now and enjoy the moment. Bit gross, but there was some bowel gas disrupting the scan so a clear picture couldn't be obtained...didn't think I was that gassy! Xx

Kiki061190 · 07/05/2019 10:51

Hi ladies! Can I please join in?

I was scanned on Friday and told I had a missed miscarriage of twins. I’m due to go into hospital on Friday for the tablets to pass the babies out. They had unfortunately stopped growing at 7.5 weeks and no hb.

This is my first pregnancy and I had fallen pregnant my first cycle off of the pill. I’m neevous this might happen again but the midwife checked my ovaries and womb and said they look in perfect health. How do you cope with the anxiety of another pregnancy? And after your MC did you take any tablets/vitamins to prepare yourselves to try again?

Catconfusion · 07/05/2019 10:57

Wow @Amanda81 I'm so pleased for you. All looking very good, especially a heartbeat so soon. I'm sure if they thought it was something to worry about they'd have said. Good you get to go back in a couple of weeks to check progress.

Lol bowel gas! Nature always seems to get in the way during scans. I got cramp and nearly kicked the sonographer in the face during mine.

My news is bfn. It wasn't fmu as my tests hadn't come until just now but I'm sure an FRER would show after a 3 hour hold at 14 dpo. I just want AF to come now but have a few days to wait.

At least my body has now had a full natural cycle to recover just baffled by all the symptoms. I'm thinking my body doesn't like progesterone even more now I've been pregnant. I've always had very early pms symptoms but they are whole new level after mcs. I'm consoling myself with the fact it's early days and only 3 months since my mmc surgery so my body will be far more ready next time. Xx

Catconfusion · 07/05/2019 11:04

I'm so sorry for your loss @Kiki061190 what a horrible thing to happen! I hope the medical management goes as well as can be expected. I had an ERPC surgery as I was 12 weeks and by body wouldn't let go naturally so I don't have first hand experience of MM.

It's now three months since my surgery and I have to say the anxiety doesn't go. I'm terrified of being pregnant again but at the same time want it more than anything. I think it's probably a case of taking each day as it comes.

I take Inositol but I have pcos so it's a treatment for that. You could read: It starts with an egg which details supplements which might help with improving egg quality. I take omega 3 and Proceive pre conception vitamins.

It might be worth asking your GP to check your thyroid and vitamin d levels.

What you're going through absolutely sucks like nothing else but the ladies on this thread have been a Godsend for me. I don't have everything together but I think I'm much better off through meeting these lovely ladies and us all supporting each other! Xx

Amanda81 · 07/05/2019 11:04

Sorry it was a BFN @Catconfusion. The other day said something which resonated with me, which was that my hormones will be all over the place and was not surprised by symptoms coming and going. Perhaps your hormones are doing the same with you. It would be nice for you to get a BFP, however if AF turns up it will give your body a break from all the hormones fluctuations related to pregnancy. Hope you are okay xxx

Catconfusion · 07/05/2019 11:48

Thanks @Amanda81 I'm ok. DH is shocked by the result as he felt sure I was pregnant based on how I've been. Like you say I do wonder if the hormone fluctuations are much worse due to the back to back losses. This cycle has been such a marathon too. I feel exhausted from it. 52 days is the longest I've had for years. AF should hopefully be here on Thursday/Friday though. Xx

AnnaMC214 · 07/05/2019 12:07

@Amanda81 I'm so pleased for you that the scan went well. I'm sure there's nothing to worry about and it's great you get another scan in a couple of weeks.

@Catconfusion I'm sorry about the bfn. I'm with your dh, it sounded so promising. I hope af turns up promptly and finally puts an end to this cycle for you. I'm sure the next one will be more normal and your hormones will be a bit more balanced again.

@Kiki061190 I'm so sorry for your loss. This is a club that nobody wants to join but this thread is full of lovely ladies who know what you're going through. Statistically you are no more likely to have another mc after your first one. I hope that brings you a little comfort. xx

Catconfusion · 07/05/2019 12:20

Thanks @AnnaMC214 I hope so too. It's hard not to feel gutted. I'm going to resist any more testing I think unless AF doesn't come. My sample was very diluted as I'd just had a coffee but surely there would be a faint line if I was pregnant. Xx

AnnaMC214 · 07/05/2019 12:45

@Catconfusion I know, it's so disappointing to make it through the tww (especially with your symptoms!) for a bfn at the end of it. Not too long now to wait to see if af shows and I always say you're not truly out until it does. xx

sadtoday21 · 07/05/2019 14:00

@Amanda81 I'm so relieved to hear the scan went well. I know we don't know each other in RL, but I was so scared for you and so happy too hear you are alright! Maybe the other thing they couldn't see fully is twins! That would be so cool :). When is the next scan? xxx

@AnnaMC214 Just wanted to check in on you and see how you are doing with DH and the wait for AF. How are you feeling? What cd are you on now? Hope all is well!

@Catconfusion I am so sorry to hear about the bfn and I can totally relate. It is really hard, even if you try to prepare yourself mentally for it. i agree with you that an frer would likely have picked up a new pregnancy by now, even if you weren't using fmu. It makes sense to just wait for AF now, like me, and see what happens. How many more days left do you have until AF? FF is telling me six more days, which feels like an eternity. So frustrating...my cycle will be 45 days long! Hate how much the mmc/mc messed it up. You are completely right about the hormones from it and how that has given you strong symptoms - I feel exactly the same way.

@Kiki061190 Welcome and I'm so sorry for your loss! Please don't hesitate to post any questions or concerns you may have. Also, we are all hear to just listen if you need to vent. You are not alone xxx.

@Kiki061190 I also meant to say that I just take prenatals as before and I take evening primrose oil before ovulation to help with generating a lot of ewcm. I had a mmc at 12 week scan - also my first pregnancy and resolved with d&c (later found out it was partial molar) - and then a chemical pregnancy the first cycle after that. Now I'm on my second cycle waiting for AF. It's best to wait one cycle after the mmc, just so you know, because otherwise the risks of a chemical pregnancy immediately right after are a bit higher. Hope that helps!

Kiki061190 · 07/05/2019 14:11

Thanks for all the kind words ladies! I think I’ll definitely wait for one cycle to come and also gives me time to grieve the loss as well. I’m quite nervous about Friday but I’m also glad it’s going to be over if that makes sense and I can move on as my body just won’t pass it naturally!

Thanks for all the advice on prenatals. I’m definitely going to give that a shot. Also can I ask, after your miscarriage or D&C how did your body feel? How long did it take for your period to return?

Catconfusion · 07/05/2019 14:22

Thanks @sadtoday21 even though I had a feeling it wouldn't be good news it still stings more than I thought it would. I'm 14 dpo and my LP is usually 17 days so probably Friday.

In other news DHs SA turned up. We called the lab and it's sat there for the last two weeks because they couldn't find the surgery details in the system. It's a hospital in a different area so they use a different system. I'm annoyed because they could have just called DH on his mobile or looked up his nhs number. Anyway It'll be here in a couple of days. Xx

Catconfusion · 07/05/2019 14:29

@Kiki061190 I felt much better after d&c. I only bled on the day of surgery. I had a negative pregnancy test after two and a half weeks and ovulated a week later. I found my body recovered very quickly. There were some strange sensations in my tummy but nothing I would describe as painful. I know I was very lucky and not everyone's experiences are as straight forward but generally it is a quick recovery. Xx

bananamonkey · 07/05/2019 14:51

@Amanda81 I'm so pleased for your scan, you must be so relieved, how lovely you could hear a heartbeat x

So sorry you're in that horrible limbo @Catconfusion and @sadtoday21, fingers crossed for something definitive soon!

So crap about the sample @Catconfusion but hopefully this means he won't have to have a repeat?

I'm so sorry for your loss @Kiki061190 it is the worst of feelings, I hope everything goes well with your medical management. I had an ERPC at 12 weeks (baby had stopped growing 4 weeks before) so will probably be different but I felt fine after the op, I bled for about a week but nothing heavy and I ovulated 2 weeks later although took me 3 weeks to get a clear negative test. I would echo the others and try and wait a cycle before TTC, I wasn't actively trying but got a positive test that also turned into a chemical pregnancy which seemed to have messed up my cycles more than the surgery. I am taking pre-natal vitamins, evening primrose and magnesium (which I take anyway). I also found high-dose vitamin D really helped with improving my mood.

AnnaMC214 · 07/05/2019 14:54

@Kiki061190 I found the surgery and recovery ok but my body was a little slower than @Catconfusion so everyone is different. I bled very heavily the first day and then it gradually got less until it stopped after about a week and a half. The cramping gradually reduced too but look a lot longer to completely stop. I still had a positive pregnancy test 3 weeks after the surgery but got a negative another week later. I have just started tracking my temperature so was able to see that I ovulated very shortly after the negative test so now I'm waiting for my first period. You might be lucky and bounce back quickly but don't worry if it takes a little longer.

AnnaMC214 · 07/05/2019 15:04

@sadtoday21 thank you for asking after me. I'm doing ok. Just (im)patiently waiting for af. I'm on 7 dpo and what seems like cycle day 100 but is actually only 37. The thing that is stressing me out the most right now is the extra weight I'm carrying round my middle. I'm making an effort to exercise more again now I have some energy back but my metabolism seems to have ground to a complete halt! I'm not feeling all that attractive for future baby making sessions ☹️ How are you doing today?

@Catconfusion I'm glad the sa results turned up and you don't have to do the mad dash to the hospital again but so annoying they sat there for two weeks. I hope when they finally arrive that it's good news.
