Hi ladies! Our last thread was automatically closed because we reached the 1,000 post limit. I was hoping we would be able to start a new thread called First Pregnancy Post-MMC, but unfortunately we are not quite there yet. I know we will be someday soon! In the meantime, I hope you will all join me on here as we continue on this journey together. You have all been an invaluable source of inspiration, support, and kindness for me and I want to thank you for making me feel less alone in this.

About me, for any newcomers: First MMC in February at 12 weeks (baby passed at nine), D&C the next day, found out five weeks later that it was a partial molar pregnancy and currently undergoing follow-up with CX. Second early mc in April. Now impatiently waiting to be cleared from CX before ttc again.

@Catconfusion I’m so sorry you are still waiting for the confirmed temp rise. It is really frustrating! Hopefully you still timed everything well and you will get the confirmation soon. Have you tried taking EPO to regulate your cycles? I just started with the liquid from boots and I have to say I am feeling a lot better on it. @Amanda81 I haven’t quite figured out the dosage yet but I think I’m going to take a tablespoon twice a day until O and then resume after AF. It tastes pretty good, just a light flowery taste.

@SARmum14 Great to hear from you and sorry that you are having a hard time. Have you had a first O or AF yet? I guess it might take a little longer given the mva procedure, but would expect it to show up within a week or two. Hope you feel better soon 🤗.

@AnnaMC214 @Birchwoods @bananamonkey @3204ECL @LMLP91 how are you all doing today? Hope you are having restful and enjoyable weekend!

@sadtoday21 thanks, we have kept going with dtd every other day. So tired though. I take EPO up until ovulation but I might up my dose. I've just started the Inositol which is specifically for pcos too so I'm hoping that helps. How are you feeling today? Xx

Catconfusion · 14/04/2019 13:53

@sarmum14 I know, the social media stuff is so triggering. I'm in awe of the social influencers and celebrities who are open about baby loss but they are such a minority.

Im so sorry you're waiting for O still. I hope it happens or at least you just get a period so you can start afresh. Xx

AnnaMC214 · 14/04/2019 13:55

Good afternoon everyone. I hope you're all having as relaxing a weekend as possible. @sadtoday21 thank you for starting a new thread. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have you guys to talk to.

I thought I'd do a quick recap too. It was my first pregnancy and I found out I'd had a mmc at my 12 week scan at the end of March. They think baby had stopped growing at about 6 weeks. I had an mva under ga a week later so it had been over 7 weeks and my body still hadn't realised anything was wrong. I'm now waiting for first af before we start trying again.

Catconfusion · 14/04/2019 13:59

Thanks for the new thread @sadtoday and thank you to everyone who's contributed. It's truly been a lifeline.

I'm 39 (40 in June) I had pcos in my early 30s but conceived on first attempt. Mmc of first pregnancy in Feb. ERPC at 12 weeks pregnant, baby 6/7 weeks. Cycle kicked back in relatively soon and conceived again but another early loss at 4 plus 2.

I'm now four weeks into a new cycle but not ovulated yet so worried about pcos becoming more symptomatic. I've been temping since August last year and cycles are irregular but I've always ovulated. Expect lots of chart confusion.

Looking forward to supporting new and old contributors to this thread. xx

wanderlustgirl · 14/04/2019 14:28

Can I join please?

Lost my first through mmc in 1st at a 10ish week scan, baby had passed at 9. Had D&C couple days later. Found out pregnant again towards end of Jan but mc that s week later!

Nothing since, got pregnant straight away for first one. Have long cycles of 40-45 days.

Wishing everyone lots of baby dust! Xxx

Catconfusion · 14/04/2019 14:36

Hi @wanderlustgirl your situation sounds very similar to mine. Welcome to the thread! Im sure you'll find it as supportive as I have. I'm so sorry for your loss. I too fell straight away twice but lost twice. The irregular periods always made me think it would take a while to fall pregnant so I was very surprised though heartbroken to go through the miscarriages.

Have you found a reason for the long cycles? Xx

wanderlustgirl · 14/04/2019 14:56

@Catconfusion thank you!

No I haven't, have you? I have constantly had long cycles as I was tracking them for years before TTC. As we kept changing our minds on when was the right time.

It's so heartbreaking, knowing I should be over 6 months now etc xxxx

sadtoday21 · 14/04/2019 15:19

@wanderlustgirl welcome to the thread and so sorry you find yourself here. It was also my first pregnancy and similar to you I would be over five months now. It’s strange that so many of us had another early mc right after the first mmc. I hope that we all fall pregnant again soon and that it works out the next time! So glad you found us and that we can share these experiences with each other at least ❤️

@wanderlustgirl it's a complicated one with me. I have irregular periods ranging from 28-42 days. My sister has pcos so requested a scan when I turned 30 and my ovaries both were polycystic. My blood hormone levels were normal. I saw an endocrinologist who said they really don't understand why women with normal bloods have cysts as it's due to hormone imbalances.

My miscarriage scan showed normal ovaries so I thought at 39 I was cured but apparently it's a condition you have for life. Pregnancy causes the cysts to go.

With me I'm convinced it's stress and although I'm fairly healthy with my diet I think sugar and dairy might be playing a part.

Are your charts showing ovulation at the same time? It might be worth seeing the GP and pushing for blood tests and a scan to see if you have pcos.

I've read pcos can cause miscarriages but there is mixed evidence for this. I'm determined to try and sort my cycles out as this one is frustratingly long.

It's so hard. You must have had yours not long before me and the other ladies on here. I had my ERPC on 4th Feb. I'd be 21 weeks now. Some days it starts to feel manageable then other days I just want to curl up all day and cry. The worse thing is the stress and grief doesn't help with conceiving again.

How are your cycles after all you've been through? Xx

LMLP91 · 14/04/2019 16:56

Hello all, @sadtoday21 thank you for continuing this post on. As most have already said, it has really helped me through my darkest time. I can't help but feel down as the days tick on and my due date in July grows ever closer. Having said that, I'm not losing hope that one day (hopefully soon) I'll be looking forward to a new due date, never forgetting my first, but overcoming the milestones and ending up with a happy and healthy baby...🤞🏼
DP and I have been dtd since AF left the building at the beginning of last week and just trying to stay relaxed and enjoy it without the pressure of what it could mean. I do generally feel brighter in myself and feel that time and all you OP's have helped me turn a corner.

How are you all feeling? Hope you're all enjoying your Sunday's?

Xxx

Catconfusion · 14/04/2019 17:02

It's so hard @LMLP91 isn't it to move on and be optimistic about the future. It sounds like you and your partner are moving forwards together best you can at the moment which is the main thing. Great your AF is over and you're focusing on bonding together again.

Ttc can make dtd so laborious which is what I'm struggling with at the moment. We're been going for every other day for a couple of weeks now pretty much. My cycle is a long one so can't wait for confirmation of O. Xx

Amanda81 · 14/04/2019 19:49

Yey a new thread. So pleased this wonderful group has continued, thanks for setting up the new thread @sadtoday21 and it's great to see everyone on here, and welcome @wanderlustgirl. Sorry for your loss, and hope that you find this group as supporting as I have.

A brief recap from me...Nov 18 MMC, found out at 12 wk scan that baby measured 10+1 and no heartbeat. Ended with an ERPC. Three cycles later, pregnant again, but had a natural MC at 5+4. Now waiting for the first AF after the most recent loss.

Interestingly, I have had no spotting today, which I would expect at 11dpo (day before AF). I only developed the spotting after the MMC, perhaps the most recent MC has changed things so that I don't spot again. Time will tell. I have had cramps on and off today, and have kept myself busy in the garden.

I hope you've all had wonderful weekends, we did a lovely 7 mile walk down the Wye Valley yesterday, just stunning.

Please you are feeling brighter @LMLP91 - liking the attitude of taking it easy and not letting the pressure build. Best way x

Love and hugs to all xx

bananamonkey · 14/04/2019 21:07

Good evening all, hope you’re having good weekends. Thanks for starting the new thread! I’m sorry for your loss @wanderlustgirl

How are you doing @Birchwoods?

I need to join in the WTF is my body doing, I though O was due but now my OPKs have gone from faint + to compete negative? It is a new pack and the controls are weirdly light but still 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m 99% sure I haven’t missed it. Also after dtd for the first time in a few weeks I had a big bleed and have been slightly bleeding ever since, I’m stumped!

sadtoday21 · 15/04/2019 00:53

@LMLP91 I’m so pleased you are starting to feel a bit better and taking a relaxed approach to ttc. I know what you mean about it being hard that the due date is approaching, mine was August. I’m trying not to think about it and just plan other things for the summer instead. Are you tracking O? Fingers crossed that this month you will get some good news!

@Amanda81 that walk sounds lovely, I’m also really into hiking and the countryside is so beautiful here. Just a thought, but is it possible that the lack of spotting is due to you being in the tww and maybe having a BFP 🙄? I’m really hoping for you that could be the case.

@Catconfusion hope you get the temp rise tomorrow! I know what you mean about celebreties and miscarriage - I googled this the other day and found quite a few who have been brave enough to talk about it and that was really inspiring. How are you feeling these days?

@bananamonkey sorry to hear about the bleeding and the wtf cycle. I wish I had some advice but haven’t experienced much bleeding or spotting beyond AF. Hope you feel better soon!

Well tomorrow is one more day before I can call for test results, not that I am counting or anything. Had a bit of a tiff with DH all day today and it left me feeling super stressed out. Since the mmc, I don’t feel like I handle things quite as well as before sometimes. It’s hard to explain, but I feel the mmc has made me stronger, more resilient, and more emotionally fragile at the same time. Stronger because I know terrible things can happen and I will surivive them. More fragile because it still all feels like a bit too much at times and I feel overwhelmed. Do you guys feel this way?

OP posts:
LMLP91 · 15/04/2019 08:12

Morning @sadtoday21 I totally relate to how you feel - strong yet also so vulnerable and easily overwhelmed at times. It's such a strange way of feeling, yet I know that with each day that has passed and continues to pass I am getting stronger. We all are, even if it doesn't feel like it. I'm also planning nice things for over the summer to bring a welcome distraction for what could have been. That's not to say I'll forget, but just hopefully not get too down and overcome with grief all over again. Here's hoping it works 🤞🏼

As for tracking O, I'm fairly reliant on my Flo app still. Not temping or tracking as such, just trying to stay fairly relaxed and use my 'green' days as a guide. I could easily drive myself crazy with the introduction of a thermometer and a chart which I don't think would be helpful for me at the moment. You ladies are all so amazing with supporting each other though, so I wouldn't ever rule it out.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy Monday.
Xxx

Birchwoods · 15/04/2019 09:24

Hi ladies, and thanks for the new thread @sadtoday21. I hope everyone is okay, fingers crossed for some bfps soon for those of you a little further along in this journey.

A little recap about me, I'm 35 (36 next month), found out about MMC on 27th March when I should've been 10+5 but baby died at 9 weeks. Had ERPC on 29th March with v little bleeding after. Started bleeding 8 days after op so went for a scan last Tuesday which showed a small amount of retained products. Went back the same day for medical management, which failed (had no cramps or bleeding). Went back three days later on Friday just gone for second dose but that didn't work either. So I now have to go for a scan tomorrow to see if the tissue is still there; if it is they will operate again but using a camera or ultrasound to guide them this time. It's just a nightmare that doesn't seem to be ending at the moment. Having said that we had a friend over at the weekend and I enjoyed myself and had a few drinks.
Strangely, on Sat and Sun and a bit today I've been having what is usually class as ovulation pains and a small amount of EWCM. These signs are usually a very predictable indication that I'm ovulating for me but I'm not getting my hopes up as I think it's probably unlikely due to the retained products.
I've been given antibiotics to take if I start to feel unwell but I'm tempted to just take them anyway. What would you do? I've read in a couple of threads that antibiotics can help break down the tissue but I don't want to take them unnecessarily.
Thank you for all your reassuring comments the other day, it really did help.

I hope everyone is seeing what they hope to on their charts. I've started using FF now.

Hope all okay.

@Amanda81 where do you live, I not far from the Wye Valley, in Malvern.

Amanda81 · 15/04/2019 09:43

Morning all

I wish it would be a BFP @sadtoday21 but really don't think it will be as we haven't been trying this month and have had a temp drop this morning. I'm getting all kinds of symptom (annoyingly) but know it's just my hormones sticking it to me and playing with me head. I also don't think I O'd when FF says...I think I was a few days or a day after (you may recall my stupid incident with the OPK's...I'm such a dumbass 😂😂). I've attached my chart. The sooner AF is here, the better...I will then be back on the TTC bus 🚌 🙌 🙌. I love a good walk. We are very lucky to live in a beautiful place and have loads of good walks around us. I'm doing a 15 mile walk next Saturday (Monmouth to Chepstow) which follows the river wye. Really looking forward to it, especially now that Ive seen the forecast!! Xx

@Birchwoods - we are fairly close! I'm just outside of Chepstow (welsh side). I'm not originally from the area, but do feel I've fallen on my feet with living around here. Malvern is a gorgeous area! If it was me, I would probably only take the antibiotics if you felt any niggles, or start to notice an infection. It's good that you have them to hand, just in case. Sometimes the tissue can reabsorb, but I've also heard from @sarmum14 experience, that the tissue can develop its own blood source. Might be best to wait for the scan and take it from there. Sorry that you are having to go through this, not like MC is enough, but to have it prolonged like this is just awful. Good signs on the O front, surely that is a positive sign, if you only had a small remaining piece of tissue left, it might be that it will clear itself with your next AF. Xx

How's your temp today @Catconfusion - how are you feeling xx

Happy vibes to all xxx

Listening to radio 2 and 'enough is enough' has just come by Barbara Streisand has come on. Omit the reference to men, and add the reference to all shitty things related to TTC process xxx

@sadtoday21 I so know what you mean about feeling strong yet fragile. It's almost like my emotions are a cup of water which is completely full right now with mc stuff. Try and add more to it and it overflows! I know for quite a few people on here just when the cup is emptying a little something comes along to fill it back up. I just hope we can all start to empty our cups going forward. Sorry, once I started that analogy I couldn't stop 😂

Amanda81 · 15/04/2019 09:53

Loving that analogy @AnnaMC214 😂😂. Swap the water for wine...that glass becomes a better visual for being full and overflowing 😂 (think I have problem, it's only Monday and already talking about wine). I think we are all so strong for still getting on with the everyday after what we have been through and still going through. I wish I was one of those girls where baby making was simple (don't we all). Xx

zoomies1 · 15/04/2019 10:50

Hi All,

I hope it's OK for me to dip a toe in?

I had an MMC back in Feb 19. Medical management didn't work so I had an ERPC on 21st Feb following which I spotted for three weeks. I am currently on CD54!!!! Nothing is happening. NOTHING!

My GP de-registered me (long story) so I am waiting to be re-registered but from having read some of the stories on here, I think I just have to keep waiting. I am measuring BBT but I don't really understand it and I did have a vaguely positive OPK but we haven't really been trying this cycle.

You all seem to have a lot knowledge (and patience) and having read your stories, I really hope you all get your BFPs soon. x

sadtoday21 · 15/04/2019 10:51

@AnnaMC214 I love that analogy! You are completely right about the fact that just when you feel things are getting better, something else comes along to fill up the cup. I’m glad I am not the only one feeling this way. How are you doing with being back at work now? Hopefully it is getting a little easier. You will definitely start to feel more in control once you are charting, although as @LMLP91 said it can also be good to take a more relaxed approach! I think everyone is a bit different...I am a control freak and bit of a nerd so I like the temping and science behind it 🤓. Plus it gives me something to do in the middle of all this waiting around.

First sign of EWCM today at CD14 and a large temp drop today. Hoping this is the beginning of gearing up for O. Your chart looks textbook @Amanda81! Really jealous of your regular cycle - it looks great!

I laughed out loud at your comment @Amanda81. Completely agree with changing the water for wine on a Monday morning 🤣😂🤣. It was a rough weekend and I needed to laugh like that! Thank you

OP posts:
Catconfusion · 15/04/2019 10:58

Good morning all,

Well done for all the walking @Amanda81. It must be hard to resist living somewhere so lovely. it looks like you're getting towards AF which I'm sure will be a big relief. The nicer weather will do us all a lot of good at the weekend.

So I've finally got another rise. So I'm assuming and hoping I ovulated yesterday. Guess we'll see tomorrow. I just couldn't face dtd yesterday so we're not as well covered for today but my peak LH was Thursday night so surely wouldn't be any later than yesterday!? We're watching GOT when DH gets home from work at 1.30 so maybe we'll celebrate with an insurance dtd after 😍

Oh no @bananamonkey does it feel like a period? I know some ladies have an anovulatory cycle after mmc. Or maybe some lining needed to shed remaining from procedure. I'd call EPU if worried. WTF cycles are so frustrating but bleeding when you're not expecting it isn't nice at all. Let us know how it's going. Xx

@sadtoday21 I really get what you mean. It opens your mind to the horror of pretty much most women's worst nightmare - losing a baby, though when you live through it resilience is certainly built up. I'm sorry to had an argument with DH. You're both under so much pressure which doesn't help. I hope the call tomorrow gives you the result you want. Xx

@LMLP91 You're probably right about the temping making you a bit crazy. I just wish my cycles were more straight forward. I'd definitely use an app like flo if I thought it would predict o accurately. Xx

@Birchwoods I'd be the same with the antibiotics. I hate taking anything. With regards to ovulation I think your body can still gear up for it, even if there is retained products and hcg. I really hope it is so tiny on the scan you can just wait for a period. It's all so frustrating for you. Xx

@AnnaMC214 That is a great analogy. It does become consuming yet it needs to be so we can come to terms with such a sad thing happening. My poor pregnant friend has had three other friends go through a mc since me. One was a mmc, what are the chances!? She's watched us all grieve and having had three losses herself completely gets it. It was interesting listening to her describe how strong we all are yet vulnerable as well. She's so sad as we'd all have had babies a similar age in the summer. Xx

sadtoday21 · 15/04/2019 10:58

@zoomies1 a very warm welcome to the group and I'm so sorry for your loss. Your mmc was just 11 days after mine. I had a 53 day cycle after my d&c and, as you can probably tell from my previous posts, it was making me crazy! Never had a cycle that long. Feel free to post your chart or ask questions about temping if you want some help with it! It really helps to at least have an idea when something might start to happen again (either O or AF). Thinking of you!

@Birchwoods I'm so sorry you are still suffering through this - it is the worst. I would hold off on the antibiotics until you need them and/or a doctor advises to take them. It is definitely possible to O with a small amount of retained products and/or a small amount of positive hcg - I researched this a lot and it happens all the time. Hopefully this is a good sign that your body is getting back on track!

Welcome @zoomies1 and I'm sorry for your loss. What a frustrating position to be in! I hope your body is now kicking in. Temping does take a bit of getting used to but it is really helpful to see where you are. I use Ovusense which I would really recommend. It's an internal sensor worn overnight that does the temping for you. As it's core temperature it's highly accurate. It has a really good Facebook forum with support interpreting your chart.

I'm sure you'll find this thread very supportive. We've collectively been through so much and although we don't have all the answers, we'll help if we can.

Did you have regular cycles before? It sounds like your body is recovering from everything you've been through. I'm sure you'll get there. Xx
