Hi ladies! Our last thread was automatically closed because we reached the 1,000 post limit. I was hoping we would be able to start a new thread called First Pregnancy Post-MMC, but unfortunately we are not quite there yet. I know we will be someday soon! In the meantime, I hope you will all join me on here as we continue on this journey together. You have all been an invaluable source of inspiration, support, and kindness for me and I want to thank you for making me feel less alone in this.

About me, for any newcomers: First MMC in February at 12 weeks (baby passed at nine), D&C the next day, found out five weeks later that it was a partial molar pregnancy and currently undergoing follow-up with CX. Second early mc in April. Now impatiently waiting to be cleared from CX before ttc again.

@sadtoday21 thank you, it's good to know I have somewhere to ask questions. I will ask the hospital tomorrow about the appointments I have booked already, I have a folder with pregnancy notes in should I take those tomorrow and hand them in? Feels like I shouldn't have them... thanks x

Covmum83 · 06/05/2019 15:53

@Catconfusion thank you xx

LMLP91 · 06/05/2019 15:56

Thank you @Catconfusion and @sadtoday21 you both and all the ladies really are

Catconfusion · 06/05/2019 15:56

I'm not sure if I mentioned @Covmum83 but several of the ladies on here including me had a chemical pregnancy straight after the surgery. I've since been told by a doctor another early loss is more likely to happen after surgery because the lining often isn't ready.

You're likely to ovulate quickly and have increased fertility it's just less likely the pregnancy will stick. I wish I'd waited now because my chemical really messed my hormones and my cycle up far more than the mmc did. Personally I'd wait until you have a natural period so your body can recover and reset itself. I know that's hard and I too just wanted to be pregnant again but I think you're far more likely to have a successful pregnancy with a little bit more recovery time. Xx

LMLP91 · 06/05/2019 15:58

*brilliant and your strength inspires me! (I hit post too soon as well!) 🤦🏻‍♀️
Is there a specific brand of thermometer to get? I typed Fermometer into amazon and so many different thermometers seem to have popped up! Whilst I really like the idea of OvuSense, I feel it's a little pricey for our budget atm, so want to try and get my head around it all before branching out into anything more high tech etc..

Thank you for your help 😘
Xxx

Covmum83 · 06/05/2019 16:01

@Catconfusion thanks for that, we will wait I don't fancy a chemical! It makes sense now you've said it that the lining is weaker. I'm going to throw myself back into loosing weight I think, I need something to focus on! x

LMLP91 · 06/05/2019 16:02

Also @Covmum83 I'm so with you on the maternity folder and notes front. I can still close my eyes and see myself silently weeping and handing my notes back in to the lovely sonographer at the EPU and apologising that I couldn't face taking them home with me again. When I went back in for the surgery a few days later, the ward appeared to have the notes with them included in with my other paperwork, so I guess they use the stickers and information for the next stages too.

Sending you lots of strength and positivity for the next few days and weeks. We're all here for you.

Xxx

Catconfusion · 06/05/2019 16:03

@LMLP91 totally understand about the expense of these things.

This is the one some of the other ladies have! Xx

Catconfusion · 06/05/2019 16:06

@Covmum83 I really wish I'd just focused on my weight loss rather than trying again. I now feel like I'm carrying the weight from two miscarriages.

Chemicals are obviously not quite as traumatic but I had weeks of messed up hormones after. This cycle is much longer with ovulation on cd 36. I just feel like not waiting has set us back Xx

Covmum83 · 06/05/2019 16:07

@LMLP91 I feel like a fraud for even having them.. this is just the strangest situation still as I still feel pregnant.. I'm assuming once the procedure is done all my symptoms will disappear? Can I ask what happens to my embryo/Fetus after they have done what they need to do? I can't bear to ask google as I don't think I could cope with pictures right now. X

Covmum83 · 06/05/2019 16:10

@Catconfusion we had a chemical back in 2013 had a positive and the next day came on, if we can avoid that then I deffo want to.

I was doing Keto last year and did well so I'm going to try that again and see how I go, we were going to cancel our Egypt holiday but have decided to go on it (it's in 8 weeks) x

LMLP91 · 06/05/2019 16:19

@Covmum83 that's exactly how I felt. The thought of that brightly coloured folder covered in happy little pregnant cartoons made me feel sick to my stomach when it was in the house. I had to give it back, but also felt so heartbroken that it was no longer symbolising something so happy. It's a strange place to be mentally, but as I and others have said previously, it does ease and you will start to feel better again. Just please be patient and allow yourself all the time you need. I can still remember feeling sick and had sore boobs for a few days following the surgery, as well as very tender and at times, sore abdomen where they had clearly had a good rummage around! Did they talk you through your options with regards to what they remove? The hospital gave me the choice of either leaving it all with them to cremate and spread the ashes in their memorial garden, or they could be released for me to do a burial/ceremony with.

We personally chose to leave it with the hospital as we couldn't face the reality any further with it being so close to Christmas and our emotional states already being all over the place.

It is of course completely up to you whatever you decide. And whatever happens, I'm sure it'll be the right choice for you
Xxx

LMLP91 · 06/05/2019 16:22

@Catconfusion thanks so much lovely. DP has just ordered it from Amazon and it should be arriving tomorrow. Looking forward to making a start...onwards and upwards 🤞🏼 xxx

Catconfusion · 06/05/2019 16:22

@Covmum83 yes definitely well avoided.

I'm thinking about trying Keto so would love to hear about how to get started.

The holiday sounds lovely. I wish we could have afforded to get away. I'm sure it'll help with the recovery to have a change of scenery.

I think each hospital is different with regards to afterwards. Mine has a hospital burial procedure so we went with that after the testing was done. It would be worth asking the surgeon as we weren't told without asking. Xx

Catconfusion · 06/05/2019 16:24

Whoop exciting stuff @LMLP91 Just a warning, the app that comes with it is a bit rubbish but Fertility Friend is amazing so you can just put the temps into it and go from there. Looking forward to seeing your chart! Xx

LMLP91 · 06/05/2019 16:46

Brilliant thanks again @Catconfusion I'll download FF now and try and get my head around it before I make a start. I'm looking forward to seeing what the temps will show - although hoping it's all only positive results 🤞🏼 xxx

AnnaMC214 · 06/05/2019 16:49

The thread has moved so fast in just one day! Dh and I had a lovely walk. I find getting out in nature really therapeutic. We walked about 10km and I was pleased that physically I was completely fine. It's been months since I haven't had any aches or pains to contend with.

@LMLP91 it's nice to hear from you. I've been using the femometer for about a month now and loving it. It was able to tell me when I first ovulated after the surgery. I agree with the other ladies about the app. Fertility Friend has a much better chart.

@Covmum83 I'm so sorry for your loss. As you can probably already tell, this is a really lovely and supportive thread that has helped me to feel less alone in my darkest times. I hope it brings you some comfort too. xx

Covmum83 · 06/05/2019 17:08

@Catconfusion

I thoroughly enjoyed Keto, I'm a foody so it sat well with me, I'd perhaps look at low carb before keto and see how you get on before doing keto but when I was on it I lost 44lb in 5 months, I felt amazing!! There are some great fb groups and Pinterest is great for ideas too.

We were meant to be having our 10 year Vow renewal on the 5th July and when we found out we wanted the little one as parts of it so we postponed it until next year, we had spent the last year paying off the 'honeymoon ' my parents were having the kids so now we've decided to just go (although we could change the date to next year which was what we were going to do) I think we need the time as hubby has it booked off at work anyway. Xx

Covmum83 · 06/05/2019 17:09

@AnnaMC214 thank you for the warm welcome ❤️

sadtoday21 · 06/05/2019 17:12

@Covmum83 the hospital will take your folder away too, it was kind of a bad feeling for me. Sorry :/. I also love keto! I always do it when I want to lost weight and it's very effective for me - I eat the zero noodles with vegetables when I want the weight to come off fast. It is delicious!

OK guys I stupidly gave in to my emotions and tested with the FREF - also a clear BFN at 11 dpo. I think I am going to count myself out now for this month officially - I always got bfps on FRERs before 11 dpo in the past. I need to stop with the delusional hopes and just live my life. Sigh. Really hate this.

AnnaMC214 · 06/05/2019 17:17

@sadtoday21 I'm sorry. It was cruel that you had symptoms to get your hopes up. I know you will see that bfp soon. It won't be too long and you can start ttc in earnest with none of CX stuff getting in the way. xx

Catconfusion · 06/05/2019 17:19

I'm so sorry @sadtoday21 you had to see another negative but as you say you can move on now. I think it is possible to get a positive maybe at 12 dpo if it implanted late but unlikely after that as FRERs are so sensitive. Mine was very much there at 9dpo. I'm going to test tomorrow at 12 dpo but I'm not really holding out much hope despite my symptoms. I too just want to move on now. Definitely hoping to be on a health kick in the run up to being 40. Xx

That's great advice @Covmum83 I'll look into it.

I think it's an excellent idea to take some time together this year and get away from it all. Xx

LMLP91 · 06/05/2019 17:29

Sorry to hear that @sadtoday21 😘 sending lots of love your way xx just think though, once you get all your results back from CX, you can truly start afresh knowing that you have the all clear. May is going to be a good month, I can feel it xxx

sadtoday21 · 06/05/2019 18:12

Thanks @AnnaMC214 @Catconfusion @LMLP91! You guys are totally right and it helped to hear that. I really hope May is our lucky month! And I hope we are cycle buddies too so we can keep each other company in the next tww. Best of luck for he testing tomorrow @Catconfusion and for you scan @Amanda81. Thinking of you both and all you lovely ladies that are struggling with this like me but somehow still finding the strength to go on xxx.

You're more than welcome @sadtoday21.

I just wanted to say good luck @Amanda81 for your scan in the morning. We're all here if you need us but hopefully you'll be celebrating with DH! xx
