Hi ladies! Our last thread was automatically closed because we reached the 1,000 post limit. I was hoping we would be able to start a new thread called First Pregnancy Post-MMC, but unfortunately we are not quite there yet. I know we will be someday soon! In the meantime, I hope you will all join me on here as we continue on this journey together. You have all been an invaluable source of inspiration, support, and kindness for me and I want to thank you for making me feel less alone in this.

About me, for any newcomers: First MMC in February at 12 weeks (baby passed at nine), D&C the next day, found out five weeks later that it was a partial molar pregnancy and currently undergoing follow-up with CX. Second early mc in April. Now impatiently waiting to be cleared from CX before ttc again.

@Catconfusion - wasn't GOT pure filth in the first couple of seasons/series! Got a lot tamer over the years. I binged watched season 1 to 7 last summer as I had never watched it, and was totally shocked by the amount of flesh on the screen...didn't know where to look (let's be honest, I was looking at the screen 😏) 😂😂 promise to post no spoilers once you've watched it...enjoy! We are watching at 7pm tonight...can't wait (I know you are too @sadtoday21).

Hopeful about your O...keep us updated xx

Welcome @zoomies1 - sorry for your loss. There are many amongst us who temp, so please do ask any questions (if you have any). Before Nov last year I knew nothing about my cycles, but MC has thrown me in to a whole new world of understanding and have a greater clarity of what's going on in there. Helps to give some control in something you really don't have control over xx

@sadtoday21 - I know what you mean about the textbook regular cycle. I'm usually 28 days bang on. This one feels like i am 2 days behind and FF has predicted O incorrectly. AF should be here today, but no sign as yet, although I have been cramping for almost a week now. If I get another temp dip tomorrow, she will be just around the corner, but if I get a ride...I will be testing mid week xx

Amanda81 · 15/04/2019 11:18

Sorry @sadtoday21 - meant to say, sorry that you've had a rough weekend. Good to see that you have some EMCM, this is always an indicator for me. How long do you normally get fertile Cm for? And a nice temp drop to boot...get you! 🤞🏻 xx

zoomies1 · 15/04/2019 11:46

Thanks for the warm welcome @sadtoday21, @Catconfusion and @Amanda81.

It is frustrating but I have read of people having longer cycles so I'm trying not to worry yet. @Catconfusion, I had only just had the coil removed when I got pregnant so only had one cycle in four years. I think my body has had quite a lot to deal with in that respect over the last few months.

@Amanda81 - I am on series two of GoT. Started watching last week. Enjoy tonight!

Catconfusion · 15/04/2019 11:59

@Amanda81 I just had a look at your chart and I think you ovulated later too. This is what I don't get, first temp after O should be higher than the previous 6 temps but mine has been predicted a bit like this too. Temping is can be confusing but I love that it gives a good idea of what's going on, even if not completely accurate.

Has anyone heard of My Lotus? If we had more money that's the monitor I'd get. It's daily LH tests but really accurate at predicting O. It also does the pregnancy tests too. It's over £300 and £50 a month to run so clearly for rich people.

Yes Got is quite filthy, especially early on. I'm massively into my history so love the parallels with the War of the Roses etc. DH and I are obsessed. If he hadn't been in work at 5am we'd have watched it this morning. Don't worry I won't say anything. I've had to avoid social media this morning just in case. I hate it when things like this get spoiled. I will practically go into hiding before I see Star Wars in December. Yes DH and I are pretty geeky. A big part of our relationship is founded on film and tv talk. Xx

Catconfusion · 15/04/2019 12:01

@zoomies1 I presume that's the hormonal one. That would explain your cycles being unsettled. I had the copper coil a few years back and I swear it shortened my period. Hopefully your body will recover from it all soon. Xx

AnnaMC214 · 15/04/2019 12:07

Wow this thread moves fast. It's hard to keep up!

@Birchwood I really hope you get some good news from the scan tomorrow. Signs of O are definitely a positive thing. I agree with what the others have said and would hold off on the antibiotics unless you have signs of infection.

@Amanda81 I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said. What was I thinking?! Definitely swap it for wine! 😂

@sadtoday21 I'm also a control freak and nerd 🤓 There is definitely a danger of going a bit crazy from tracking everything but I'm also going crazy twiddling my thumbs right now. I'm hoping temping will help me to feel like I'm doing something useful. I'm not the most patient person!

@Catconfusion I'm glad things are looking potentially positive on the O front. I'm so hoping you finally get confirmation.

@zoomies1 I'm so sorry for your loss but I'm glad you found our little group. The ladies here have been so lovely and supportive.

Oh and I can't watch GoT until Wednesday as my dh is on nights and we want to watch it together!! 😭

Amanda81 · 15/04/2019 12:17

We are big Star Wars fans too. I'm looking forward to Christmas to see the next episode.
I'm also thinking that my pre-o temps are a little unreliable as I had a jump up, which could be related to hormones settling. I guess it's all just a big waiting game. Fed up of getting these 'symptoms' though as it's messing with my head. My plan is to keep busy until AF arrives. I've not heard of Lotus...very very expensive...wowsers!

OMG @AnnaMC214 - Wednesday! I don't know how you will manage to avoid spoilers. GL xx

AnnaMC214 · 15/04/2019 12:18

I knew I'd forget something...

@Catconfusion the story of your pregnant friend really brought home to me how common miscarriage really is. I'm not sure how other people feel but when doctors and nurses kept telling me that it wasn't much of a comfort. It is a comfort though when it means we can talk about it with others who have been through the same thing and feel less alone. xx

bananamonkey · 15/04/2019 13:52

Sorry for your loss and welcome @zoomies1. This thread is moving fast and getting bigger so sorry I can't keep up with everyone!

I didn't do a little summary before, I am 37, was my second pregnancy and MMC discovered at 12 week scan followed by ERPC a few days later on 12-Feb. Think I was about 8 weeks along when things went wrong.

Am now on my first proper cycle I think, I O'd 4 weeks after the ERPC and got a new BFP a week later but then started AF the week after that. Am now 3 weeks on from first day of the AF and was expecting O but now randomly bleeding. I don't think I missed the O but this doesn't feel like a period (and seems too soon?) so maybe it's just some lining that that needed to shed as my first AF post-op wasn't particularly heavy. Who know?! The messed up cycles are so frustrating when you just need a little but of control over something.

AnnaMC214 · 15/04/2019 16:18

I'm freaking out a little and would appreciate advice. Just to warn you this is a bit tmi but I just went to the loo and there was pink when I wiped. It's 2 weeks today that I had the surgery. Fresh blood stopped after only a couple of days and then bleeding stopped completely a few days ago. Should I be worried?

Amanda81 · 15/04/2019 16:50

Hi @AnnaMC214 - how much was there on the tissue? I had a little bit of pink blood (very light) at about three weeks after erpc, turned out I was ovulating. Have you got any EWCM? Xx

NBparis · 15/04/2019 18:05

Hi everyone, can I join please? Reading your stories made me feel a little less alone in a horrible time, although I'm sorry you've all had to go through all this too.
I am in the middle of my 2nd miscarriage but coming at it from an ivf place. Had my second full ivf cycle last July and got a bfp. Six week scan went well with heartbeat but 9 week scan showed baby hadn't grown since week 7. Waited it out (went on holidays in France) and then took tablets in the end. Had a frozen transfer in March and got my bfp again but at 6 week scan, there was only an empty sac. Absolutely devastating, as you all know. We had to wait for the confirming scan and now have a d&c scheduled for Thursday.

I have unexplained infertility (ttc nearly 4 years) but have crazy long cycles. Have used and loved the ovusense though. It was the only time I was ever able to predict my period even though I didn't get pregnant. Thinking of going back to it now as can't do more ivf until the summer holidays (am a teacher) but feeling v anxious about getting pregnant again...

Anyway, hope it's OK for me to join despite my infertility complications.

sadtoday21 · 15/04/2019 18:39

Hi @NBparis of course, we are happy to have you here! I'm so sorry to hear about all the difficulties you have been having with ttc. It must be so difficult to have multiple miscarriages with ivf and you seem so strong to have made it this far. There are a couple other ladies with long cycles on this thread, like @Catconfusion, who may be able to offer better advice than me. I am not really sure whether my cycle is long or not at this point, as this will be the first normal cycle that I am tracking after the d&c (my first cycle after the d&c was 53 days long, but I am hoping that was a one-off!). I can completely understand your anxiety about getting pregnant again, I think we all feel that way. I have a lot of anxiety in general since the mmc and I alternate between meditation, the gym, and wine to help with it. I know there isn't much we can say or do to help, but please do feel free to vent here on this thread as it is a very safe place with a lot of ladies who are understanding and incredibly kind. Thinking of you xxx

@AnnaMC214 I'm so sorry to hear about the bleeding - are you in any pain? I didn't have any bleeding between the d&c and my first AF, but perhaps you are closer to AF than you thought? Hoping your femometer comes soon so you can have a better idea soon.

AnnaMC214 · 15/04/2019 18:59

@Amanda81 & @sadtoday21 thank you for your replies. It was only a little bit so I think I just need to try and chill out and see what happens. My mind automatically jumped to it meaning something terrible. I am a little crampy and have backache but that's pretty much been the case for the whole two weeks. I don't really trust myself to know if there's anything wrong anymore.

Indiekid82 · 15/04/2019 22:42

Hi there, I experienced a MMC earlier this year. Went for an emergency scan on 11th February three days before our planned 12 week scan on Valentine's Day, and was told baby hadn't developed after about 6 weeks. Devastating. I'd never heard of a MMC before it happened to me, and had no idea how horrific it felt to go through a miscarriage. Solidarity with you all. Am back at work etc but still struggling some days. Am on a writing retreat this week, supposedly to edit my novel, but am still feeling tired and not my usual productive self. It is very frustrating! I think I need to just see this week as part of my recovery really but it's hard to put plans on hold.

Indiekid82 · 15/04/2019 22:50

@AnnaMC214 I think my bleeding following the D&C was a bit stop-start, it seemed to have ended and then carried on, and also you can apparently menstruate as early as two weeks after, so try not to panic. Always worth getting it checked out if you're worried though. It is really horrible having to worry about the physical side of things when you are still recovery emotionally isn't it?

Indiekid82 · 15/04/2019 22:52

@AnnaMC214 Also, I totally understand what you mean about not trusting yourself anymore, I totally felt like that about my body following the MMC, like it had really let me down not telling me anything was wrong. I had always been able to trust my instincts before that.

Catconfusion · 16/04/2019 06:50

Good morning everyone!

Firstly just wanted to say GOT was amazing. I won't say anything else.

Sadly @AnnaMC214 I had a temperature drop which is making me doubt it did happen after all. I'm gutted and exhausted from this cycle so just want it to end if 'O really isn't coming. Any signs of your AF?

My pregnant friend is amazingly supportive. She's reminded me pregnancy can be lonely and terrifying, especially after loss. She has a nearly one year old and fell pregnant while breastfeeding so is at 26 weeks. She lost three babies before that, one at 13 weeks very suddenly. I hated people saying it's common too as how could such pain be everyday. I think mmc is about 1% of pregnancy's so early loss is much more common. It just seems statistically odd my friend is close with two people with mmc and two with early loss in four months. You're right though it means we're not alone and can talk about it.

Not sure what to say about the new bleed. Just monitor and it it continues speak to EPU and get a check up. I hope it stopped soon as does seem early for a period. Xx

@Amanda81 We are Star Wars mad. I've been watching the panels from celebration this week with jealousy. I was lucky enough to go to SW Celebration when it was in London a few years back and see Carrie Fisher before she passed away. It was the most amazing event I think I've been to. Have you seen the new trailer?

It's such news with this wtf cycle. I can't believe I have a drop. This is literally driving me crazy now. My cycle before my wedding was like this. I'm wondering if I'll gear up again. I've added a picture with today's chart.

Good idea just to keep busy for now and wait it out. I do hope it's good news even though you're not expecting it. If not AF comes swiftly. Xx

@bananamonkey How are you today? Has the bleeding stopped? I completely hear you on just wanting some control over something. These wtf cycles are so frustrating. I'm convinced the second early loss has messed mine up. Xx

Welcome @NBparis and I'm so sorry for your losses. After trying for so long that's dreadful news. It must go to that extra level of heartbreaking when you've invested so much in IVF with all the drugs and scans then got a bfp only to lose.

My cycles are irregular and sometimes long too. I do usually ovulate on my own but it's sometimes a month to six weeks in. I use Ovusense and love it too. It's great for longer cycles. I was diagnosed with pcos about 9 years ago as I had cysts but my blood work was normal. I actually fell pregnant the first time I tried at 39 on my honeymoon but mmc. On miscarriage scan cysts gone so thought I was cured but apparently they go during pregnancy. I then had another bfp straight after but another early loss. I'm now struck in a long cycle with two failed ovulations so my body is not happy. I presume your doctor ruled out pcos? Xx

@sadtoday21 Good luck for your test results later. I've got my fingers crossed for you. Xx

@Indiekid82 Welcome to the thread and I'm so sorry for your loss. Such a horrible time to go through it. My surgery was 4th Feb but my year anniversary since DH and I got together was 13th Feb. I had to wear a maternity dress to dinner due to my swollen belly. It was so hard to celebrate.

I'm a writer too. I've not gone for publication yet with my personal stuff but been writing since I was a child. My day job is copywriting for business.

It sounds like the experience has affected your writing. I've barely written anything since I found out I was pregnant as I had several sickness and nausea. Just my journal. It's my passion but now all I want is to be pregnant again. Xx

Here is my pre wedding chart and the one I'm having this time for anyone interested in charts of longer cycles. I'm hoping I just gear up for next week. Xx

@Indiekid82 welcome and I'm so sorry about your mmc. Thank you for taking the time to reply to me. Nothing has happened since so I'm not sure what's going on. I'm hoping it's an ovulation bleed like @Amanda81said but I've never had that before.

@NBparis also welcome to you and I'm sorry for everything you've been through. I'm so glad you've already found this thread comforting. The ladies here are so supportive of eachother.

@Catconfusion I'm really sorry about the temp drop. I know how frustrating this is being for you. I hope you get some news soon even if it's af so you can move on from this nightmare cycle.

@sadtoday21 lots of luck today for your test results. Sending hugs xx

Catconfusion · 16/04/2019 07:21

Thanks @AnnaMC214 it's everything I feared about ttc: long cycles, not knowing when 'o will come and the fear of cysts. My two pregnancy's gave me hope pcos wouldn't be a problem but after losing them I'm worried they've sparked symptoms off again.

The bleed could have been ovulation bleeding. I certainly noticed my ovaries are more painful at that time. Last cycle it was my left and this cycle my right is twitching as it tries to o. Maybe the hormone imbalance after mmc makes the ovary more sensitive. Anyway good news it stopped! Xx

3204ECL · 16/04/2019 08:33

Hi all, just found the new thread! Thanks for starting @sadtoday21

How is everyone doing?

@Catconfusion any sign of o yet?

AF still going here... Day 8 which is very long for me at usually 3/4 days. Not been particularly heavy at all and definitely slowing but wouldn't class it as having been a normal first AF post MMC. In two minds about trying again when/if o comes. Think we'll try but won't get our hopes up too much.

Hope you're all enjoying the sunny weather. X

Catconfusion · 16/04/2019 08:39

Hi @3204ECL it sounds like AF has been much more nasty due to everything you've been through. Hopefully it's done now and you'll move towards ovulation.

My only advice with regards to trying again is to see how you get on and how you feel as o approaches. I have a feeling you'll know what's for the best. Will you temp this cycle?

Unfortunately I'm stuck in a long cycle on cd 29 with now two failed ovulations. It's so frustrating feeling my body gear up but nothing happens and the temp rises but drops the next day. I'm hoping my body will go for round 3 in the next week. I had an 8 week cycle last year before my wedding due to stress. I did eventually ovulate on day 34. I'm really hoping that's what will happen this time xx

3204ECL · 16/04/2019 08:49

@Catconfusion I'm so sorry it must be so frustrating after everything you've been through to feel it coming then get the drop 😔 fingers crossed for round 3 🤞🏼

I have been temping and think things are looking ok so far. I had quite a bit temp rise at the weekend but pretty sure that was Prosecco driven! Hoping the temping and OPKs will help me understand when o is coming as my dates are all out because of the extended AF! X

Catconfusion · 16/04/2019 08:55

Thanks @3204ECL it's so frustrating. I was beginning to think my body had sorted itself out so really discouraging to go back to cycles like this when ttc.

Your chart looks good and the spike probably is alcohol. Keep going with it and see how you get on. Hopefully it won't be too long to o' xx

3204ECL · 16/04/2019 09:02

@Catconfusion the length of time it takes to get back to "normal" is one of the hardest parts of this whole process I think. When you had the longer cycle from the wedding stress did they return to normal afterwards? X
