A Manchester Meet up?

MerlinsBeard · 08/02/2010 11:08

Seems there a few Manchester MNers who would like a meet up.

I know the SHineys are having one but feels wrong to gate crash if we haven;t posted!!

I am not volunteering to organise one, just starting a thread so other people can

I am far to lazy and likely to change my mind to do that!!

Would love to do the park at weekend but am working, boo.
Bet loads of others would be up for it though.
I can do Monday, Tuesday or Friday. Agree about warmer weather. What about towards the end of April? Is during or after school hols better?
I think morning is good too, could do 10 til 1 sort of thing.

Might join in at head over heels next week if that's ok, TSC? Am visiting a friend with a new baby in Chorlton next Tues anyway. Could bring her 2yo to give her a break.

BelleDameSansMerci · 09/03/2010 15:51

Definitely warmer weather for the park thing although my DD will go out in arctic conditions without a coat given the option...

AnyFucker · 09/03/2010 15:55

yeah, belle, but I bet you don't

BelleDameSansMerci · 09/03/2010 18:15

No, I don't. Discipline can be a bit lacking around here sometimes but not where that's concerned. I did let her out in the snow wearing her coat, hat, scarf and wellies over her pyjamas when she absolutely refused to get dressed but wanted to go outside. That lasted approx 5 minutes and then we went back in and she got dressed pdq.

Was lovely meeting you yesterday. You're very calming to be with. You have a peaceful serenity that I envy.

AnyFucker · 09/03/2010 18:24

My best friend says I am very calming and a good listener. What a lovely thing to say

Like I said, you were as I expected. I can say it now...attractive, dark-haired and vivacious, just like I knew you would be. And animated, with a dirty laugh

BelleDameSansMerci · 09/03/2010 18:55

And a matching mind!

I didn't mention your elegance and style yet! Loved your boots; hair and general "look". I'm all sorts of !

AnyFucker · 09/03/2010 19:02

Aha...what a love-fest this thread is

shockers · 09/03/2010 19:07

I am so jealous that I couldn't come... sounds like it was a lovely lunchtime get together

suwoo · 09/03/2010 19:26

at Belle and AF's mutual appreciation society!

You both looked fabulous and I also thought you were calm and serene Belle.

AF, did have a great 'look' though and I knew it was her the minute she came in.

You have 'presence' AF. cow

AnyFucker · 09/03/2010 19:50

That is a nice thing to say, su

We were only serene because we didn't have ittle children attached to us

Apart from when I got some sneaky cuddles from random babies. Nice to hand 'em back though

There are advantages to getting older...

BelleDameSansMerci · 09/03/2010 20:22

Hmmm... I seem to have screwed that one up! Old and have a small child.

As for the love-in, would never actually say those things as would be too embarrassed in RL!!

AnyFucker · 09/03/2010 20:27

your dd will keep you young, belle

either that...or finish you off for good

suwoo · 09/03/2010 20:29

Imagine us all sitting there saying that stuff to each others faces

No, you're gorgeous

No, you are

Well you have lovely boots

You have lovely err earrings.............

And so on........

BelleDameSansMerci · 09/03/2010 20:30
Grin
AnyFucker · 09/03/2010 20:38

ha-ha...the way we hide behind t'internet

maybe after a few glasses of wine, the compliments would have been flowing...

I get awfully affectionate after a few

BelleDameSansMerci · 09/03/2010 21:00

Oh, I'm a soppy old bat... I actually wrote quite a long post yesterday with all the lovely things I wanted to say about you all but then thought I'd sound like a weirdo so didn't send it!

AnyFucker · 09/03/2010 21:06

not as bad as me, belle

I nearly blurted it all out in Giraffe!

I think it was just relief it went well and that you didn't all have two heads or summat

Or started beating me up for all my bossing people about on here

BelleDameSansMerci · 09/03/2010 21:15

Oh, I'm always relieved when you show up on a thread I'm on. Even if you did once force me to face the truth about my own situation when I had been burying my head in the sand...!

AnyFucker · 09/03/2010 21:20

there could have been a lynch mob waiting for me for all I knew

imagine...me strung up over the balcony at the Trafford centre

what a sight

btw, belle, I have seen your post on the admissions thread, and you hide it well..too well, methinks

littlesez · 09/03/2010 21:21

Oh thanks to mrs chemist too and her notebook

anyfucker I think she is pretty cute too She was like one of the girls chatting with us and cackling and only a tiny bit mischievous. It was so nice to meet you I didnt think anything of the bill dodging [giggles] i think we all almost forgot to pay anyway.

knitter she is such a princess, with her legwarmers, squeaky shoes , tiara's and such. She has nicer stuff than me!

secondcoming are you going to head over heels? is it in the morning if so can i come please

I reckon we could do regular park meets in summer, a few different times/days, weekend and weekdays. sorry getting a bit carried away!i just had such a nice time

BelleDameSansMerci · 09/03/2010 21:56

AF - I think we all know that your posts are written with the well being of the OP in mind.

I know that I hide it too well. It's part of the problem . It's not there all the time and was thankfully absent yesterday. I'll be ok. Just need to pull my socks up and face things. I'm not usually one to avoid anything for long!

MrsChemist · 09/03/2010 21:58

Your very welcome

Park trips sound very good. Isn't there a MNer who blogs about the parks around Manchester? She might know of some good parks that we can bear in mind when the weather gets better.

MrsChemist · 09/03/2010 22:01

Aha!

bilblio · 09/03/2010 22:19

Wow what a great blog. I'm going to have to check some of them out. I've only been to Heaton Park and the ones near me (which aren't great and have moulting peacocks.)

I like the idea of random days, particularly at parks when the weather warms up.
Fridays are always good for me, and weekends sometimes if I'm not working.

AnyFucker · 09/03/2010 22:28

belle ...ok, I will stop fishing for compliments now

err, and you know you have a listening ear on here, dontcha

the park in my hometown is very good (no mentions please of specific town)

will check on that blog tomorrow to see if it is there (too tired now, and trying to do 4 things at once here)
