A Manchester Meet up?

Seems there a few Manchester MNers who would like a meet up.

I know the SHineys are having one but feels wrong to gate crash if we haven;t posted!!

I am not volunteering to organise one, just starting a thread so other people can

I am far to lazy and likely to change my mind to do that!!

Lovely to meet you all. Shame that by the time I had plucked up the courage to start introducing myself DS was approaching meltdown. Had to run away before he unleashed the fury.
AF and BelleDame, you are both very glamorous and may not refer to yourself as old or grannies.
Next time without kids sounds good, 20mo's do not give a shit about one's need to sit and chat.
Was also thinking we could do another daytime one in a park, it's less embarrassing with toddlers.

Belle, the fat pads out the wrinkles!

DH has told me off for going to MN meetup instead of getting appointment for the GP. I can just about whisper now and my throat feels very swollen. I may have to skip my usual Tuesday baby stuff to rest up for the interview, but it was well worth it. You ladies are wonderful!

AnyFucker · 08/03/2010 19:28

aww, get well soon, yank

you are quite wonderful too...although your DH is right...you certainly like to chat < runs away >

hairymelons..it was hard to talk to everybody, tbh...and when I did my wander round to "mingle", I don't think you had arrived by then

I did notice your very gorgeous ds though

MrsChemist · 08/03/2010 19:38

Yeah I get ID'd a lot

Yank just drink a lot of whiskey lemsip, and have a rest tomorrow and you'll hopefully be fine for wednesday.

YanknCock · 08/03/2010 19:38

AnyFucker, would it surprise you to learn I talked so much in school, when I was 6 they put a 3 sided box on my desk so I couldn't see anyone else? I shut up for a good 10 years and was terribly shy, but then something snapped and I have not stopped babbling since!

bilblio · 08/03/2010 19:50

Mrs C - I've found the turtle pattern! It's a free one on knitty if anyone is interested... or has any clue what I'm talking about.

I like the idea of a park too... It'll be even better if I bring DP and he can run after DD while I natter. Although I suspect that won't happen... not without a lot of dirty looks from him anyway.

whenskiesaregrey · 08/03/2010 19:50

Hello, nice to see you all today!! I have to apologise though, for my total inability to be interesting today, I felt totally socially inept - lack of sleep does me no good at all!! I was full of scorn when certain people kept bragging about what wonderful sleepers their DCs were, ehem Suwoo and YanknCock

Oh, and thank you MrsC for not making me look the youngest therefore, minus DCs obviously .

I will try to be more interesting next time... promise!

AnyFucker · 08/03/2010 19:56

yank...does this face look surprised ? lol

skies...next time you will have to tell us all about your forthcoming nuptials

whenskiesaregrey · 08/03/2010 19:58

therefore?! Argh, I meant 'there'... need sleep...

AF next time I will make an effort not to bore you to pieces!

MrsChemist · 08/03/2010 20:04

oooh nuptials! Didn't know you were planning a wedding skies. Do love a good wedding natter.

Bilblio I'll let my friend know that soon all the MN knitters will have knitted turtles She will feel very proud.

suwoo · 08/03/2010 20:17

Ha ha skies are you kidding?????????????????????

I haven't had a full nights sleep in over 3 years. DS1's record is 24 wakings before midnight (that was the night we started co-sleeping). He still wakes up at least once, often 3 times and he is now 3.3

DS2 wakes at least once and we co-sleep.

Even DD1 woke up last night too. I was up and down about 7 times last night.

I even have a blog on here about getting DS1 into his own bed. I slept on the floor whilst pg for 10 weeks.

I don't know where you got the idea mine were good sleepers from

Can't wait for the next meetup, with alcohol.

AnyFucker · 08/03/2010 20:18

don't be silly skies..you were not boring at all

minxofmancunia · 08/03/2010 20:23

Ok next Tue it is then! TSC, I'll go over to facebook now.....and look for the gutteral surname

KnitterInTheNW · 08/03/2010 20:25

I was hiding behind DS pretending to know how to talk to other adults... Lovely to speak to everyone that I did manage to!

Could you possibly link to the turtle pattern, Biblio? Twas very very cute!

suwoo · 08/03/2010 20:26

Was just going to ask the very same thing knitter

whenskiesaregrey · 08/03/2010 20:28

Sorry suwoo I'm sure you said DS2 was a good sleeper, maybe you meant compared to DS1?! I'll let you off anyway Did you come across DS's missing cup btw?

lol thanks AF, but at the stage where I started describing my journey there today, I was screaming to myself nobody will find this interesting!

TeaandCake · 08/03/2010 20:30

Had a brilliant time with you all today, marvellous company.

I don't know why I was so nervous beforehand now, everyone was so lovely! Thank you!

minxofmancunia · 08/03/2010 20:32

Done TSC check out yr FB

AnyFucker · 08/03/2010 20:32

nobody even noticed, skies

sometimes you need someone to witter on a bit as when you first meet new people it can be slow to warm up IYSWIM

we were all quite warm though, by the time we left

suwoo · 08/03/2010 20:32

I was racking my brains thinking how you could have got the impression that they were good sleepers and agree that I must have been comparing him to DS1, in which case he is a wonderful sleeper

You were lovely greyskies, but we were all just jealous of your youthfulness and gorgeousness.

Sorry, no I didn't see the cup

YanknCock · 08/03/2010 20:37

skies, what are you talking about? You were not boring in the least! Was good to talk to someone else about job stuff, I will keep an eye out for you. Didn't know you had a wedding coming up, congrats!

whenskiesaregrey · 08/03/2010 20:38

ooh youthfulness and gorgeousness, I will definetly have to come again!!

Oh well, I'm sure one cup wont be missed as the cups never get stacked, just launched and bitten

Oh btw, your DS eating all his chicken inspired me to cook my DS some chicken and veg for his tea, and he ate it all, woop!

whenskiesaregrey · 08/03/2010 20:41

Yank, I was trying not to get too scouse for you . Thanks for the job talk, will check out that website Have you googled Everton then?

YanknCock · 08/03/2010 20:48

skies, I found this!
