A Manchester Meet up?

MerlinsBeard · 08/02/2010 11:08

Seems there a few Manchester MNers who would like a meet up.

I know the SHineys are having one but feels wrong to gate crash if we haven;t posted!!

I am not volunteering to organise one, just starting a thread so other people can

I am far to lazy and likely to change my mind to do that!!

Didn't spot any spare cups, but I do have someone's red happy land figure, let me know if it's yours and I'll post it to you.

YanknCock · 08/03/2010 20:49

TeaandCake and Knitter, was lovely to talk to both of you!

Knitter, I've told my DH I shall be going to knitting group next Wednesday and he will just have to sort DS's bedtime alone

bilblio · 08/03/2010 20:52

Here's the turtle pattern.

I expect all DC to have their own by the next time we meet... except my own however as I'm a terrible procrastinator.
To many hobbies not enough time.

Whenskies - Trying to work out who you were, I didn't get to meet you, and you're the only person who lives somewhere I know.

whenskiesaregrey · 08/03/2010 20:57

Ha Yank, thats great!! Ha, can't you believe you actually found a clip with 'when skies are grey' in it, they are some impressive research skills you have!

suwoo · 08/03/2010 20:58

Greyskies was sitting next to me biblio. She was young and pretty with lovely long hair and her DS had blond sticky up hair.

She must be a bitch or something though.

Who's turn is it for compliments next?..........

whenskiesaregrey · 08/03/2010 21:00

Oh bilblio, where were you sat? I have dark long hair and was wearing a black vest top and a creme cardigan, not very memorable I know! Just think of all the Skem chat we missed out on

whenskiesaregrey · 08/03/2010 21:02

sticky up hair, poor DS!

Everything else was pretty accurate as well

TeaandCake · 08/03/2010 21:04

Oooh, thats my DS1's happy land figure Knitter, he only missed it when we got back to the car. Thanks!

suwoo · 08/03/2010 21:04

I was going to say spiky, but that sounded like you'd gelled it likeatruescouser

Anyway, I am not giving you any more compliments tonight.

MissMarjoribanks · 08/03/2010 21:06

Oooh, no skies, you were lovely and your DS is just the most gorgeous ever. You should have told me about the wedding, I love a good wedding chat.

Biblio - with the reference I made to hating the sight of baked beans, a classic example of my gob working faster than my brain. I might have run for the hills if your DD had started smearing them on me, but we were nowhere near that.

bilblio · 08/03/2010 21:08

I was sat in the right hand booth until right at the end when I moved to the long table.
Dark brown hair in plaits, DD has a blonde bob, often mistaken for a little boy.

We could have talked about the Conny, and the roundabouts... and... the Conny

whenskiesaregrey · 08/03/2010 21:10

sorry suwoo...

you have very good eyesight

whenskiesaregrey · 08/03/2010 21:11

Got to go, DS calling, but will pop back later...

bilblio · 08/03/2010 21:12

MissMarjori - I was very carefully trying to keep the beans hidden from your sight. I thought you were very brave. My DP would have been out of the restaurant as soon as he'd realised I'd ordered them.

hairymelons · 08/03/2010 21:16

Ach, can't do next Tuesday night. It's the only night of the entire year I already have a social engagement.
Will definately come next time though. Would be nice to chat to all you ladies I didn't speak to this time.
Knitter, did DS steal a fire engine from your son? I didn't catch your MN name.
Suwoo I am glad to hear that your DCs are rubbish at sleeping too. A bit scared that that means this next one will be as bad as DS but hey ho.
And AF, thanks. Not so lovely in the small hours mind.
See you all next time!

AnyFucker · 08/03/2010 21:16

wassup with the beans chat ???

Glad we've found the red man's owner! Are you on the fb group T&C, so I can get your address to send it?

hairymelons, yes, that was my DS's fire engine that your DS was 'sharing'!

MissMarjoribanks · 08/03/2010 21:27

AF - biblio ordered a veggie breakfast, which included baked beans. She told me DD wasn't normally allowed them, and that her DP hated the sight of them.

Immediately with my runaway mouth I countered that I hated the sight of them too, rather than doing the polite thing, which would be to say nowt.

Her DD was relishing them and it appears that biblio kindly shielded me from this sight. Though I was trying to eat with one hand and bf with the other, so my concentration was elsewhere...

Hope this explains satisfactorily.

YanknCock · 08/03/2010 21:35

When I was pregnant, I vommed at the sight/smell of baked beans.

Actually, I vommed at everything.

DH is on his way home bearing many interesting drugs to make me better by Wednesday.

So are we doing something next tuesday? Did I read that right?

suwoo · 08/03/2010 21:35

OMG, am so

DH was just sticking up for me as was a bit emotional

AnyFucker · 08/03/2010 21:36

a phobia about baked beans ?? I've heard it allll now

Mr Suwoo...you are so dead when she finds out what you did

YanknCock · 08/03/2010 21:39

Suwoo, you are gorgeous and I'm sorry I didn't get to talk to you much. Next time, eh?

MrSuwoo Think you've gotten the wrong end of the stick there.

whenskiesaregrey · 08/03/2010 21:40

omg suwoo, did I upset you? I was joking, I would never say something like that being serious!! You were lovely, very easy to speak to and made me feel very welcome! Sorry

KnitterInTheNW · 08/03/2010 21:44

I'm still trying to work out how many WW points were in my enormous salad and most of DS's choc brownie...
