A Manchester Meet up?

MerlinsBeard · 08/02/2010 11:08

Seems there a few Manchester MNers who would like a meet up.

I know the SHineys are having one but feels wrong to gate crash if we haven;t posted!!

I am not volunteering to organise one, just starting a thread so other people can

I am far to lazy and likely to change my mind to do that!!

Knitter, I am doing the same with that baguette thingy, trying to guess! Surprised Giraffe don't have nutrition info on their website, so many of the chain places do.

don't worry skies, I think it will be ok, we all know you were kidding anyway!

TeaandCake · 08/03/2010 21:49

Knitter - not on FB I'm afraid. No worries about little HL man. I could look up tomorrow how to do the CAT thing but going to bed right now, just tooo tired!

suwoo · 08/03/2010 21:50

Sorry am just feeling a bit shit after DS2's birth, not myself yet physically or mentally. The 'eyesight' compliment finished me off.

Anyway. Lets leave that there and move on.

Where next? Town? Saturday night?

YanknCock · 08/03/2010 22:00

Maybe a good pub in central Manc? I know of none, but just hoping most won't want to go somewhere very loud. I struggle with accents in quiet places, and won't have a hope of understanding anyone if there is thumpy music.

I don't have to put on a dress or anything right?

MrsChemist · 08/03/2010 22:06

I know of a few to avoid

Saucepanman · 08/03/2010 22:09

I notice no one enjoyed meeting me, not even one compliment on my marquee!

I will give town a miss if you all don't mind, as cannot drink and am elephantine atm

AnyFucker · 08/03/2010 22:13

saucepanman, I am reassured to find out you are not really a man

and that you do not have MUG tattoed on your forehead

and that your dd is gorgeous and so are you...so there

anybody else in need of compliments ??? I am very, very good at giving compliments...

YanknCock · 08/03/2010 22:14

I am being told off for not working on my presentation for Wednesday's interview. Will leave it to more knowledgeable locals, as I will drink anywhere there is booze and am completely non-snobby about what I drink.

I like cider and wine, and will drink pints of lager.

Saucepanman · 08/03/2010 22:18

lol! So glad I fished for them

Bless you, you are very kind. And glam.

P.S. touche eclat re mug on head

YanknCock · 08/03/2010 22:19

Saucepanman, you and DawnTigga were a great double act! I really enjoyed talking to you both.

Sorry you didn't find any maternity clothes. If I still had my fabulous jeans i'd give them to you. I think I've got a pair of olive green maternity cords from the Gap if they'd be any use to you. They were from a friend, not worn much. Not a full panel though, but a big thick band all the way around.

Saucepanman · 08/03/2010 22:26

Thanks Yank, they sound lovely but I do need a panel [gigantor] I discovered yesterday what I have been fearing but putting off- looked in my final possible hiding place for old mat clothes and they weren't there!

AnyFucker · 08/03/2010 22:28

spm...I didn't even notice your comedy belly !

AnyFucker · 08/03/2010 22:30

su, have emailed you

Saucepanman · 08/03/2010 22:42

WOW what a nice lot you all are. I really had a good time. I don't drink so don't really go out but will keep an eye on next meet and may pop out. I would love to meet up with children again park sounds fab and its free! Heaton park is lovely but would go anywhere

suwoo · 08/03/2010 22:48

Can't claim credit for organising, just making a fb group.

MrsChemist had the notebook.

AF, have replied. Thanks.

AnyFucker · 08/03/2010 22:49

hi sez

I just want to make quite clear, I totally forgot to pay for my cappucino as I was worried about missing school pick-up...ok

I am not usually a bill-dodger

Just so you know..that yank has been casting aspersions on my good character....

oh, and your dd is sooooo cute

hairymelons · 08/03/2010 22:59

Heaton Park is also very convenient for me so am putting in an early vote for it!
We could take booze picnics and everything.
Suwoo, would it help if I said that I would be twitching in a corner if I had 3 non-sleeping children? You looked lovely AND sane, which is quite an achievement after the night you'd had.
God, you were even being nice to them.
Anyway, I'm off to bed too. Night y'all.

KnitterInTheNW · 08/03/2010 23:00

I'll second that last bit, and I need to have a girl next so that she can wear legwarmers and shoes with squeakers in

AnyFucker · 08/03/2010 23:10

I am only coming to the park, if someone else comes without kids

I don't wanna look like the stalky hanger-on

I do have children, honest guv

Saucepanman · 08/03/2010 23:18

DD can be your sidekick AF, she talks even more than me! I will have a nap observe.

BelleDameSansMerci · 09/03/2010 07:32

Is the park thing a go-er? Will definitely bring DD to that one...

notevenamousie · 09/03/2010 08:04

Would anyone be willing to do the park at the weekend some time, or are you all too busy doing Important Family Things? I could maybe get a babysitter for next Tuesday - I really rarely get out in the evenings but should really be brave.
DD is productive at both ends this morning (with nausea)
