Hi all so after putting on 2stone in last 3 years am now in the overweight category with bmi over 28. Having found no motivation but getting more and more fed up with myself, I've taken the plunge after reading loads of reviews about exante have brought myself the 2 week box, its coming tomorrow so fingers crossed I can stick to it!
Anyone else starting it or currently doing it?
Posting here to hold myself accountable!

I've never heard of it but good luck! What's your motivation?

WhereverIGoddamnLike · 26/10/2020 23:47

I've never done a shake replacement diet like that, but I am restricting calories quite a bit at the moment.

My advice is to find your triggers for snacking, because you will be hungry. No amount of good reviews will change the simple fact that you will be hungry, you will have a horrible headache over the first week, you'll be going to the bathroom every hour because of all the water. So, be ready for a first horrible week, and know why you snack. If its boredom then have a plan; start a huge jigsaw puzzle, a book, an art project. Just something to keep you busy at night or whenever you find yourself sitting wanting to eat.

Dont start any massive exercise regime; light walking is fine, maybe some toning exercises but dont run yourself down by doing huge amounts of cardio.

WhereverIGoddamnLike · 26/10/2020 23:49

That all sounds very negative. I'm sorry.
You'll do great after the first week; just be ready for a few hard days.

You will feel really good once the weight starts coming off and your skin is going to improve with the water and the correct minerals and vitamin ratios. I didnt mean to aound so horrible!

par05 · 26/10/2020 23:55

Thank you for replies! It is a low calorie meal replacement diet, really need a kick up the behind! So hoping this will help!
I am worried about the first few days as at work and hoping I don't feel too bad before ketosis! And yep need to stops snacking badly, thank you for the ideas to keep busy will dig out a few books or go bed early!

If it's allowed, have some healthy snacks planned that you will actually enjoy - an apple or pear and a handful of nuts, crudités and hummus, pumpkin seeds, a square of very dark chocolate....

ComeOnBabyHauntMyBubble · 27/10/2020 00:23

I use them for work lunches. They're convenient, easy and I can keep my calories (mostly) in check.

I have to say I never managed to stick with just them for a full day, and I do prefer their not as liquid meals/breakfasts. The pancakes actually aren't bad, the cereal is ok,as is the mushroom soup. I'm gutted they discontinued their muesli and berry yogurts as they gave me the crunch I needed. The coffee flavoured shakes are really nice.

I've lost weight on them, but I did pile it back on during lockdown/summer holidays.

Starting all over now.

DianaT1969 · 27/10/2020 00:59

I don't know much about Xante, but could you take the meals together in a short window, of say 4 hours? So that you get into ketosis faster and don't spike insulin all day? Giving your gut a rest too. So you feel satiated and know that you can have water/permitted drinks the rest of the time.

Gothamgirl1970 · 27/10/2020 01:31

My best advice: don’t tell anyone you are doing this unless absolutely necessary. Every one and their dog will give you their opinion. Endlessly

thesoundofthepolice · 27/10/2020 01:54

I tried it and it's hard, really hard. I had headaches and felt really lethargic for about 5days managed to last 4weeks gojng it and dropped a lot of weight but I couldn't sustain any longer. I had a pretty physical job at the time and it was just too few calories for me.

I stuck with the shakes and filled up on water and mint tea. I used to have all three meals relatively close together (within a 5hour window) normal late afternoon/evening so I didn't feel hungry before bed. Also worked for me as I don't tend to feel hungry until afternoons anyway. Good luck

Hi Par05,

I've been toying with this myself, gained a huge amount due to stress 85lbs to be precise over a 7 month period. Not good, I started on this on the 15 of October. I'll post again tomorrow as shattered but happy to share and offer tips on getting the most from your "meals" I'm trying to stick to a 6 hour window of eating but usually won't have my first, "meal" until 3/4pm I don't get hungry before then. But drink lots of water.. and I mean lots of water, it will reduce the headaches and hopefully before you start, you reduced your carb intake that will also minimise any fatigue and headaches.
Was going to start my own diary once I got a month in to the plan, but happy to post on your thread for now Smilestay focused and clear your head of everything your able that will clog your end goal.

Haven't told anyone except a close friend, my only problem is work where we have cake day on friday, and I'm the one who scoffs most of the cakes 😖 I'm hoping don't get fatigue and headaches too much as work is mentally draining!

So still waiting for delivery! Postman came no package, gutted as had hyped myself up for this, but have been good had peanut butter on toast with a cup of tea and 3 glasses of water, hoping delivery will come tomorrow although I'm at work. Have tried ringing royal mail no joy.

Hopefully will get package tomorrow fingers crossed, but gutted as had hyped up to start today and did end up eating crap! Really need willpower and some motivation 😔

thesoundofthepolice · 28/10/2020 02:30

Good luck tomorrow op, hopefully your delivery arrives, can you get rid of the "crap" you ended up eating so it's not there to tempt you? That what I had to do.

"Keto flu" is a thing you might need to be away of staying hydrated, avoiding strenuous exercise and getting proper sleep are all ways to stave it off but just be mindful so you take it easy the first few days while you adjust. Good luck

par05 · 28/10/2020 21:00

Hi so had my delivery today while at work, but came home for dinner so had a shake for dinner and just had soup for tea also had a banana and 2 cups tea and a milkyway in work, 🙈 in morning.. hopefully will kickstart me now as went on scale this morning and was 12 st 9! Shake was ok but after taste not that nice and soup had powdery lumps in and I whisked loads! Feel ok though logged all my calories and it came to 817 in total hoping that will be ok as still roughly 800 cals.

Good luck @par05, I've done it before and lost 2st on it. As with many others I've put the weight back on this year due to lockdown / work stress, but have exante in the cupboard ready for another go. If you stick to it, it's very satisfying and I never found myself hungry while doing it. Like @Gothamgirl1970 don't tell those who don't need to know - I had a lot of abuse for doing it.

Only downside (other than not "learning control" eurgh), was I developed heartburn after doing this.

par05 · 29/10/2020 13:41

Ahh thank you, its day 2 but I have had a banana this morning as felt lightheaded a bit, been ok at work though and have a headache! Just had shake now strawberry flavour which was ok and a glass of water to have that full feeling! I'm hoping I can stick to it too!

How are you doing @par05?

par05 · 03/11/2020 07:35

Hi @wetdogloveshubert doing ok finding it easy to stick to with and over the initial hunger have lost another pound so half a stone so far, which I'm happy with. Tomorrow would be a week of sticking to it, and expecting less weight coming week as due on period. Trying to stick with 3 exante products and one low carb meal a day so average 800 calories a day. How are you doing? Have you restarted yet? X
