Morning all.

Sorry if you're chomping at the bit to announce your loss this morning!

Here's the spreadsheet

Some great losses already posted, so well done.

But don't despair if you haven't lost as much as others. Remember, this isn't a competition. We're all here with different startpoints, and everyone loses at a different rate anyway.

@StuntNun with the BOB fitting, does the bra not give that lovely ‘squashed sausage’ back fat look? If I wear a tight bra it looks terrible from where it cuts in.

@BIWI yes no problem! Will pop it on now

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 19/10/2020 14:21

Well done everyone! Some great results.

Weigh in today was only 1lb down but on Saturday I was 9stone which is the lowest I've been in 13 years!

If there's no lockdown before then I've got a fancy weekend away this weekend which will mean off the wagon (veggie so can't often eat out on this WOE).

LemonSea · 19/10/2020 14:31

That actually makes sense StuntNun, when I’ve reached goal I will do a clothes purge and try some different bra sizes/get remeasured, depending on Covid. I think this must be much much harder with little ones, they need so much help with everything. I remember having a party when we got rid of the child seats, buggy and potty’s.

Checked my weight tracker and I was last at my goal weight in Sept 2018. I have been kidding myself for 2 years, that’s surprised me.

poorbuthappy · 19/10/2020 14:43

@BuffyTheBuffetSlayer I've fallen foul of the converting trap from kgs to Lbs before.
Got all excited that I'd lost 7lbs in a wek (not bootcamp or LCHF I hasten to add) and then realised it was actually 3lb.

prettybird · 19/10/2020 14:47

@TeddyIsaHe - the "back fat" problem is actually more of a problem with cup sizes that are too small Confused - so counter-intuitively, a 38C would have more back fat than say a 34F. That's because the boobs that should be in the cup are squished round to the back Shock.

Iirc, the BOB sizing also involves scooping your boobs from under your armpits into the cup. It actually gives you a much better cleavage profile Grin

OneFootintheRave · 19/10/2020 14:50

Well done to everyone who has been sticking to the rules.

For me, last week had some serious slips. I know now that Tuesday spells danger as I go into the office that day. A LARGE round of redundancies were announced in my team last Tuesday, though by a miracle, I am safe, for now.... A load of sympathy cake and high-end chocs were laid out and I did pretty much fall face first with the shock/relief.

Office again tomorrow and I need to be on guard and armed with a flask of my delicious cauliflower bhaji soup. I also need to avoid the free, luxury biscuit tin.

On another note, inspired by someone here, I have been making my own, thick, Greek-style yoghurt and it's great. Just to be really sure that I am getting live culture as this works out a lot cheaper than pro-biotics. I have flavoured part of the batch with some lemon rinds and it's lovely.

I'm back on it now as the last bootcamp I lost nearly a stone. I will use Tuesday to do my weigh-ins though.

KOKO everyone Smile

BuffyTheBuffetSlayer · 19/10/2020 14:53

@poorbuthappy Unfortunately this is a regular thing for me, DP would be rolling his eyes but not surprised!

I am delighted to see I lost 5lb (now I know the correct weight!) since last week, DP lost 2.

Meal plan for today - nothing for breakfast, scrambled eggs, bacon and avacado for lunch and chicken curry for Dinner. Already 1.5l water sunk.

Malahaha · 19/10/2020 15:14

Hello, is it possible to join from today? If so, how?

Rshard · 19/10/2020 15:18

Would second the bravissimo recommendation lemonSea and also agree with prettybird about the back fat needing to be in the bra cup.

I walked in a 38C and came out a 34E, it honestly made such a difference to how I looked, about half a stone slimmer and clothes were sitting much better of that makes sense.

Rshard · 19/10/2020 15:18

*if not of ffs!

gillyweed · 19/10/2020 15:24

I've list 3.6lbs which I'm really pleased with as one or two non-bootcamp items may have passed my lips, I didn't have a drink though!!! I think *Athel posted something about if you're struggling with 2 weeks off the booze you need to really think about that, and it's really resonated with me... I don't drink much but I drink too often. Bootcamp is a chance to get rid of some bad habits that have crept in!

Can *Biwi or someone more knowledgeable than me give some advice about kids etc doing hflc? I'm cooking for 3 adults and 3 kids and adapting my meals to suit but I've become so aware how many carbs my kids eat - and that they are now eating things cooked in lots of fat, is this ok, can I reduce everyone's carb intake a bit? Or am I totally overthinking this?!

Wormthatturned · 19/10/2020 15:30

Well done to all the losers. I've just cracked the spreadsheet challenge to record my 0lb loss this week. Not a total surprise as the weekend was a write-off really.
The last bootcamp was a total win for me and I've lost more lb since then by just doing the same - so stick with it, folks.
Even though I'm virtually at my target weight and I can now wear my summer dress, I'm hanging out with all of you to keep me from going the wrong way towards Christmas.
What's the bootcamp version of mince pies please?

FizzyPink · 19/10/2020 16:21

I’m interested in that too @gillyweed
I cook for myself and DP and I’m a bit conscious that he’s now eating loads of carbs and loads of fat. However his body fat percentage is only 14% (less than half mine Blush) so I’m not particularly worried as he could do with some fattening up Grin

itsmeagainagain · 19/10/2020 16:52

@prettybird

Just to motivate people - 3 years ago I went from 14st 13lb to 11st 13lb in 6 months, from May to December (over two Boot Camps. That included a bit of falling off the wagon between the 1st and 2nd Boot Camps Blush

Following Christmas I got down to 11st 2lb and then last Christmas (having gone a bit AWOL and had got back up to c12st 11lb) I got down to 11st 6lb (although I preceded official Boot Camp with an Egg Fast).

So yes, I've been up and down a bit - usually down to emotional eating - but I've never gone back any near to where I was 3 years ago. Smile

love that @prettybird
StuntNun · 19/10/2020 16:55

@TeddyIsaHe no because all the breast tissue goes into the cup. You have to lean forward and scoop scoop scoop all the breast tissue from your armpit area into the cup. I went from a 34DD to a 30F which seems ridiculous but if I measure just under my breasts then it is 30 inches so why were places like M&S and John Lewis putting me into a 34 inch back size? I remember once going back to John Lewis the next day because the bra they "fitted" was cutting into me so badly I was bleeding. They told me it was the right size and sent me on my way. Whereas in Bravissimo they're always happy to let you try all the different sizes around your measured size until you find the perfect fit for comfort.

@LemonSea depending on how much weight you have to lose it might be worth getting a new bra, even if it's a cheap one from the supermarket, just to keep you going. IME ill-fitting bras can leave you very sore and even give you a back ache if they're not supportive enough.

Good call on the lemon rinds in yogurt @OneFootintheRave I sometimes add a little vanilla essence and ground nutmeg to mine for flavour when I want to change things up.

@Malahaha check out the spreadsheet linked in the first post. It has all the rules for Bootcamp and you can log your weight there too if you want. There are quite a few starting/restarting week 1 this week for you to join in with.

I have been so hungry today after last night's disturbed sleep so I've just had a snack of shoogled microwaved sprouts in butter. So good and healthy too.

prettybird · 19/10/2020 16:56

Malahaha - you can join in at any time. Many people "join in" but only ever lurk. If you want to be on the Spreadsheet, put a call out to AthelstaneTheUnready and she'll put you on. You can then enter the appropriate start weight (either real or 100) and take it from there Smile

Read the Week 1 thread and the FAQs thread for further advice.

@onefootintherave that soup sounds amazing! is it on the recipe thread?

It wouldn't do anyone any harm to reduce their carbs a bit - but make sure that the carbs they are getting are from vegetables, salad and fruit. For the children, you can also give them a higher carb diet as they need the energy.

For adults, be careful if you're eating high fat and high carb. That's not a great combination!

But frankly, if you're doing all the cooking, then you cook what you want/like and the rest of them just need to eat it! Grin

Yes, I can open it.

Did you want me to put your weight in for you?

Hello, is it possible to join from today? If so, how?
You're in! Just make sure you've read the rules etc. When the lovely @AthelstaneTheUnready comes along, she'll pop you on the spreadsheet. What's your starting weight?
OP posts:
CrazyDuchess · 19/10/2020 17:27

Please - not great but was low carbing beforehand . 89.6kg today :) need to up my water intake x

BIWI · 19/10/2020 17:41

It's done - it's in pounds rather than kg though, as we use pounds for the spreadsheet (there's a conversion button on one of the tabs, FYI)

Just posting so i don't lose the thread. Life is crazy but I'm here in spirit x

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 19/10/2020 17:45

Checking in on the new thread. Did a 16 hour fast last night/this morning. Had low carb toast with butter and cinnamon for breakfast. Dinner was homemade chicken soup, with leeks, a few carrots (not many, I promise) and konjac noodles, served with grated cheese. That's me done for the day, food wise.
The soup was a hit with both DH and DD and she is quite fussy! Never tried konjac noodles before but they were very good in the soup - they took the place of the barley.
