Morning all.

Sorry if you're chomping at the bit to announce your loss this morning!

Here's the spreadsheet

Some great losses already posted, so well done.

But don't despair if you haven't lost as much as others. Remember, this isn't a competition. We're all here with different startpoints, and everyone loses at a different rate anyway.

Morning. I’m starting a week late - hope that’s ok! DP and I managed to lose loads with this a few boot camps again and this morning I’ve weighed in at my heaviest 😭😭😭 I read through last weeks thread and feeling motivated 👍🏻

HerdyGerdy · 19/10/2020 08:31

Good luck to those weighing in today!

CowGurl · 19/10/2020 08:31

I am under 90kg for the first time in 6 years - super chuffed! Thanks @BIWI @AthelstaneTheUnready et al for the effort that you put into this. Really appreciated.

Loving the recipe ideas. Am going to try the cheeseburger pie and moussaka this week.

Made a huge batch of chilli last week and realised that I could probably do with reducing the no. of tins of tomatoes as they are quite carby. Will do that next time.

Hunger has abated quite a bit but seems to come and go. Some days I don't need to eat until 2pm others I could do with breakfast. I enjoy fat so I don't think that's the issue. I have a pretty active job, even though it's relatively quite now so I probably just use more calories than I thought! Plus I think if I have an accidentally slightly more carby meal the night before (ref chilli) then I think that affects hunger then next day. Edging in and out of ketosis? Really happy with my weightloss this week though so something's working and will fine tune as I go along.

Don't know whether any of you have heard of Dr Sarah Myhill. She works with people who have CFS and is also a proponent of paleo-keto. She sells something that she calls 'sunshine salts' (www.salesatdrmyhill.co.uk/sunshine-salt-300-g-392-p.asp) which is salt + minerals and I think (newbie so not entirely sure) would count as electrolytes. Not sure how the cost compares to the other options people are using but might be worth a look. It does make your glass of water look like a glass of wee though! Grin

Well done everyone!

poorbuthappy · 19/10/2020 08:32

Just checking in on new thread. Smile

Oneborneverydecade · 19/10/2020 08:34

2lb for me which is great after a couple of months of this woe. Trouble is I'm bang on 13st so I was praying for 2.5lb or more

Well done everyone

SomethingInTheWaySheCooks · 19/10/2020 08:37

I have lost 3lbs! Doesn’t compare to the whopping 6 or 7 hubbie has lost, but I was smaller to start with! Weird though, I have tracked weight this week and the first few days it went down, but the last two it’s gone up 🙈

Midlifemission · 19/10/2020 08:40

Woo hoo well done for all the losses!
I love how we all have mini milestones to celebrate along the way.

5lbs down for me which is the most I have ever lost in a week ( even previous week ones !) I feel I have been rewarded for really giving it a good go and sticking to the The Rules.

I know we won’t see losses like this week after week but it’s incredibly motivating!!

potas · 19/10/2020 08:40

A very modest amount lost compared to everyone else. Not even a full pound. But I have form for sabotaging myself so at least I finished with a loss and therefore starting this week from a better position than last week.
I am a veggie and usually eat a lot of nuts and cheese so struggling a bit with what to eat.

Have you checked out the recipe threads? There's a specific vegetarian one which might inspire you.

I thought veggies were allowed nuts? Confused

Partly a placemark as I'm not going to weigh in until after I've done The Shred Wink

Rshard · 19/10/2020 08:48

Just adding my 3lbs lost to this weeks thread. Thanks BIWI for starting us off on week 2!

I love mini milestones too midlifemission, keeps me motivated

52andblue · 19/10/2020 08:51

I'm going to join @SailingandSauvignon and @HerdyGerdy and start this as Week 1.
I tried last week but had a number of stress related lapses as ds is having MH problems and I finding things very very difficult atm.
I had lost 3lbs but it seems back on again this am so DAY 1 again for me. Pls can I have a zero on the spreadsheet (or move me to starting this week (or just ignore me till next week and I'll try harder ;)

Congrats on all the good losses - it clearly works !!!

TeddyIsaHe · 19/10/2020 08:52

Morning everyone. Loving seeing all the losses.

Down 6lbs here which is such a boost. I know it’s all water, but I’m much less bloated and feel so much more comfortable.

BIWI · 19/10/2020 08:55

Wow @ShagMeRiggins - half a stone!!! Well done.

Morning everyone, well done on the losses - it's extra motivation for me as I am just starting today and trying to get my head back into it. Had tonnes of water already, and have prepared tuna fishcakes and salad from the recipe thread for lunch. Smile

Yes they are, but still need to be cautious as they are generally very carby and some are much carbier than others, e.g. cashews which are 23.3g carbs per 100g - and it would very, very easy to eat 100g of those,

BasicMadeira · 19/10/2020 08:58

Wow everyone! Some great losses here this week. I get that sometimes it's water weight off but it's still a lower number and that is so inspiring.
Week 2. I will be learning lessons from Week 1 so more planning and less cheese and NO sugar.
It will be good for me this year that there are no trick or treaters coming to the door so we won't over buy just in case.

plumstone · 19/10/2020 09:05

Just caught up since Friday - I try and stay away from screens over the weekend, due to spending all week in front of one! 3lbs here - delighted. Have stuck to it religiously, and very proud - things I learnt:
Meal planning is key
Seedlip is not worth the money - will revert to a wedge of lime in Friday night's sparkling water.
Need to find something to do on a Sunday - so bored, was a tablespoon of double cream her, salami slices and brie there, spoonful of taco mince, etc etc

Made celeriac, cabbage and leek soup on Sunday, lots of butter and double cream, so that's lunch for the next few days.

Well done to all the losses - this way works!! Aiming to see an 11 on the scales next week - or even a 12 dead would be good.
Have a great day everyone!!

lurknolinger · 19/10/2020 09:05

6.7lbs off for me, which I'm obviously really pleased with. But it does reflect how far off piste I've been between now and the last boot camp, had I stuck to maintenance that number will have been a lot lower as I'd have had less water and weight to lose. But it's motivating me to have a super strict week as I know the next 2 weeks it will be a lot slower loss or maybe stay the same.
Thanks for the Gluwhein tea recommendation, I'm going to try them. Well done everyone for making it through week 1!

Anotherducker · 19/10/2020 09:06

Thanks @BIWI

I think my body is getting used to the woe now. I feel less fuzzy headed this morning (I’ve been drinking my Zero electrolytes and plenty of water, it just took some adjusting)

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 19/10/2020 09:06

Only half a pound off for me BUT it was AF week so better than nothing Smile plus, I have restarted C25K and feel a lot more energetic in general, which I'm really pleased about.

Thank you to everyone for the help and encouragement!!

I thought not for first two weeks?

It’s lunch time that I struggle. No time to heat up and eat left overs and boiled eggs and tofu are getting boring

Montybojangles · 19/10/2020 09:11

Morning, well done everyone with your losses. 2lb off for me, hoorah. Shopping arriving today, so Moussaka is on for dinner this evening.
I’ve also ordered some of the bread previously mentioned. My other half is doing this with me (more or less), but he’s missing bread, so hopefully this will make it easier for him. I’m finding I’m fine without a carb “replacement”, but he’s struggling a little.
Totally agree about Halloween @BasicMadeira, I’m dreadful for hoovering up any leftover trick or treat goodies Blush

PaddlingAlong · 19/10/2020 09:12

Hope everyone is well this morning. 2lbs for me which is ok given I have stuck with this woe for a couple of months. Still haven't managed to get under 13 stone but maybe next week! Trying to keep up with the water intake and reduce the coffee. Otherwise have stuck with the rules.
