Morning all.

Sorry if you're chomping at the bit to announce your loss this morning!

Here's the spreadsheet

Some great losses already posted, so well done.

But don't despair if you haven't lost as much as others. Remember, this isn't a competition. We're all here with different startpoints, and everyone loses at a different rate anyway.

Hopefully my Cheeseburger pie has uploaded!!

I was dubious about the mayo thing - i was wrong its amazing. Had a slice/quarter for lunch, and then left to go cold, and have three perfect quarters in the freezer for dinner this week. The taste is amazing, and there was no fat draining - thoroughly delish and its a keeper!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. weather here has been shit - and its now pitch black due to the clocks changing - I always feel oddly jet lagged when they move - no idea why its only an hour - but always unsettling.

Weekend was good food wise, and tonight about to go and have a pork chop with all the fat and Shoogled sprouts with butter and krispy kale.

Lunch today, soup and yoghurt - WHEN will I learn that soup is not enough for me for lunch?? Inevitably I'm hungry by 4pm and end up having to have a chunk of cheese.

Supper is steak with FLGV. It should have been cauliflower cheese, but we forgot to buy a cauliflower. The local shop in the next village had some spectacular purple ones on its Facebook page on Friday, but they'd all gone when I drove up there and I didn't fancy a 50-mile round trip to the next nearest open shop, so frozen veg it is.

fizzfridays · 25/10/2020 17:28

@DiscontentedWoman that sounds amazing, I need to give that a go.

@NorthOfAmazing that's a shame, as you say best just to draw a line under this week and start fresh tomorrow morning feeling positive. Was there a reason for your gain this week?

Today I had a lie in so no breakfast:
L: veg frittata with aioli (yum!)
D: random things from the fridge I need to use up before our food delivery tomorrow so lc chipolatas, leeks, bacon, fried egg and celeriac!

Hope everyone is having a restful Sunday. I'm nervous for tomorrow's weigh in but also strangely looking forward to it as I missed last week's so I have no idea where I'm at.
@prettybird I feel the same as you do about mushrooms, so made the Cheeseburger Pie last week using finely sliced celery instead which seemed to work ok.
The thing with the mushrooms is they can be chopped so finely as to not be noticeable. Honestly.

One of our. Hold ten loathes mushrooms, but chomped away through the Cheeseburger Pie.

I know this doesn’t help those who have various issues/phobias/dislikes—and do feel free to substitute—but as a mushroom lover I recognise potassium and vitamin D as a nutrient benefit, plus earthy umami flavour.

Just a thought.

So...WATER! Drink it NOW!!!

Takingontheundead · 25/10/2020 17:39

Slight name change to reflect the season 😁

Made a lush dinner, had cauli cheese, 3 chipolatas in streaky bacon, red cabbage in butter, couple of little carrots, chicken and a bit of pork stuffing and a wee bit of gravy but i did a 22 hr fast and I didn't touch a single roastie even though they looked amazing if i do say so myself, nor the chocolate cake a custard!

Actually struggling to feel hungry atm. The long fast was unintentionally long, could have easily gone longer but when i realised the time i felt like i should eat. Had some pistachios.(25g)

Anyways. 🤞 I can inch further into the 12s this week!

prettybird · 25/10/2020 17:51

ShagMeRiggins - to be fair my dislike of mushrooms is textural unlike my dislike of the taste of peppers of any colour, cooked or raw Envy you're right, if they blitzed to a pulp chopped very very finely, they might be ok.

I'm not mad keen on celery, although I will eat them. Hmm

Honest, these are the only three things I don't eat voluntarily Blush

Burnshersmurfs · 25/10/2020 17:54

Reporting in from cheeseburger pie duty. Happy to say that I didn’t even consider draining the fat off. It was so delicious that I’m surprised it’s even legal.

NorthOfAmazing · 25/10/2020 18:08

fizzfridays it must be good ol’ carb creep .... it’s particularly annoying as I’ve not had any bread/potato/booze in weeks so I can’t be far off a decent loss at some point ! Grin

ShagMeRiggins · 25/10/2020 18:12

It was so delicious that I’m surprised it’s even legal.

Yeah. That’s LCHF for ya.

Real food, good fats, carbs from vegetables...

Yes it can be tricky with modern life (work, children, sometimes family, budget, availability of ingredients), but it’s aaaallllll goooooddddddd. Wink

ShagMeRiggins · 25/10/2020 19:04

A slow cooker pulled pork recipe:

www.chowhound.com/recipes/easy-slow-cooker-pulled-pork-30356

Leave out the brown sugar or—if you absolutely must—substitute with low carb sweetener. The sugar doesn’t make a difference, in my experience.

The reason I love this pulled pork recipe is because it’s all about the spices, not the tomatoes, not the bbq sauce, etc.

For LCHF I recommend eating it on homemade celeriac remoulade or homemade coleslaw instead of a bun.

To lower the carbs, use shallots instead of onions.

It’s divine, flavourful, and versatile. CN be used in a variety of ways (a warm salad, as a spoonful for a flavour-blast snack, on top of sliced courgettes etc).

Enjoy. And drink your FECKING WATER!!!

Rayna37 · 25/10/2020 19:30

Nice but not spectacular dinner- pork belly joint and then veg chucked on a tray in the oven- broccoli, purple carrots (only had a couple of bits) and the radishes which were great, will definitely do those again! Good content, sloppy delivery!

Fingers crossed for a weigh-in close to where I spent most of last week.

Takingontheundead · 25/10/2020 19:47

Daft Q. Are electrolytes good for you/ok to take regularly? I've had one a day for last couple of days (not to replace water entirely) and i think i feel much better for it tiredness wise? (Theres only going to be so much this WOE can do for someone who works nights on the tired front!)

Choux · 25/10/2020 19:48

Ok i may be able to help with those of you wanting pulled pork buns or even cheeseburgers. Just made herby cloud bread which is a bit like souffle but two together can be used as a bun.

20bloodypumpkins · 25/10/2020 19:50

Halloween name change only works if each pumpkin weighs one pound. Maybe I'll continue counting in pumpkins. Fingers crossed (if tomorrow's weight is the same as today), I will have dropped 4 pumpkins Grin

verylittleowl when ever I have soup I whisk in a big knob of butter, and then then swirl a spoonful of cream on top (and sprinkle some parsley for colour). That always makes me feel full up and contented. obviously doesn't work well with gazpacho, minestrone etc

We got a mahoosive cabbage in the veg box last week, and I've got fed up of buttered cabbage, so used the rest today to make a big batch of coleslaw. Along with the mayo I added a wee tiny bit of horseradish too carby, I know to pep it up, plus a couple of radishes and the end of the cucumber. Then I added grated cheese. Delicious.

Making dinner is often my challenging time, I start to feel munchy, especially when dh is drinking a beer and eating snacks. But a teaspoon of the cheesly slaw, and a glass of fizzy water did the trick. Now for some water and herbal tea in preparation for tomorrow's weigh in.

SuperbGorgonzola · 25/10/2020 19:55

verylittleowl I find that 4pm time really difficult as well. I've got young children and their toys are in the kitchen/living area, so between nursery pick up and dinner time I find it really hard not to graze.

At the moment, I'm using sugar free chewing gum to try and stop me doing it, as I'm not sure if a snack at that time would just trigger a bit of a binge. 🤷‍♀️

Lyrata · 25/10/2020 20:01

OH MY GOD THE ROASTED RADISHES.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 25/10/2020 20:02

I didn't know horseradish was carby. I've been eating tons of the stuff, mixed with mayo.
Think I did okay today. Breakfast was half a large avocado and a boiled egg. Had a couple of creamy coffees today and a handful of pork scratchings and dinner was belly of pork slices and green veg fried in butter and caraway seeds.

Totalshambles · 25/10/2020 20:06

BIWi Ok. I’ll reset my expectations! That first step on the scales after week 1 was amazing, I guess I was hoping for more of the same!
Anyway so looking forward to a g& (slimline) t tomorrow - anyone else??

fizzfridays · 25/10/2020 20:32

@NorthOfAmazing it's so frustrating when you feel like you've done everything right but the scales don't play ball. Fingers crossed for you this week.

@Choux they look great. Last time I made cloud bread I added too much cream of tartar and they were awful so I stopped making them but need to get back on it.

@Lyrata did you like them? I thought they were great when I had them but I still have limited taste and smell after surgery so was worried they might taste way more radish-like to people with more discerning palates!

I'm looking at buying a waffle maker to make chaffles, does anyone have any recommendations?

Lyrata · 25/10/2020 20:43

Loved them. We thought they tasted very much like potatoes and had very little of the peppery radish flavour. I foresee many many more radishes in our future.

Hope radish poisoning is not possible...?

SuperbGorgonzola · 25/10/2020 21:13

My 11 stone husband is eating a sharing bag of crisps and hummus on the sofa next to me.

Bedtime it is then Angry

Good luck all you Monday weighers!

EarlGreyHot · 25/10/2020 21:36

Felt like I survived today... A lot going on that would normally trigger emotional eating and then TOTM finally arrives.

B - eggs, bacon, mushrooms, coffee
L - leftover chilli with grated cheese
D - chicken, roast radishes, sprouts with butter and bacon

First weigh in tomorrow morning. Hopefully TOTM doesn't impact too much.

NigellaAwesome · 25/10/2020 22:36

As always, O am behind on the thread, but wanted to thank every for recipe inspiration this week.

I made the ottolenghi roast chicken with olives and capers for dinner tonight. It was delicious, and the rest of the family enjoyed it too. I had mine with courgetti.

The other big hit was cheeseburger pie. DD is lactose intolerant, and was begging to try some, so I will do another batch this week using vegan cheese and leave out the cream. I actually thought it was even nicer cold. Especially cut into little fingers for perfect bite-sized snacks.

My other hit this week was Whole30 Turkey burgers (with mini peppers and basil mixed through, with fried fennel and garlic, and thick rounds of roasted aubergine. This is absolutely divine.

I hope everyone has a good weigh in tomorrow, I'm loving all the NSVs, especially height gain - impressive!

prettybird · 25/10/2020 23:22

Supper tonight at my Dad's wasn't too bad considering he disapproved of all diets and thinks that this is a fad

It was Afrikaner chops, which is a marinade/cooking sauce of chopped onion, tomato ketchup, vinegar and Worcestershire sauce over lamb chops. So the tomato ketchup will have had sugar in it, but I was able to avoid the mashed potato which is the traditional accompaniment and he'd made loads of asparagus in butter.

Turned down his lovely apple Charlotte. Dh and he managed to finish it between them Grin

Here's hoping that I'll get my reward in the morning Wink

Mimosa1 · 26/10/2020 07:28

Hi everyone, reporting a 0.7kg loss this week (0.5kg over the last 2 weeks) but I've been BC'ing for a while. I saw lower weights during the week so I'm hoping for a bigger loss next week. Good luck for everyone's weigh-ins!
