Morning all.

Sorry if you're chomping at the bit to announce your loss this morning!

Here's the spreadsheet

Some great losses already posted, so well done.

But don't despair if you haven't lost as much as others. Remember, this isn't a competition. We're all here with different startpoints, and everyone loses at a different rate anyway.

poorbuthappy hi, no, I don’t know what BOB is.

Oneborneverydecade · 19/10/2020 12:05

@paddlingalong absolutely! 12st would be fantastic, good luck for this week 🍀

@redsparklybucket @prettybird fantastic loses, well done!

poorbuthappy · 19/10/2020 12:08

Not sure whether @BIWI will come at me with a stick if I link so....google boob or bust to find out how to measure boobs the non +4 way (as in the way that M&S have done it forever) and see what it comes out with.
It may surprise you (or it may not obviously Grin) but it does tend to help most women into the right size bra.

prettybird · 19/10/2020 12:21

Just to motivate people - 3 years ago I went from 14st 13lb to 11st 13lb in 6 months, from May to December (over two Boot Camps. That included a bit of falling off the wagon between the 1st and 2nd Boot Camps Blush

Following Christmas I got down to 11st 2lb and then last Christmas (having gone a bit AWOL and had got back up to c12st 11lb) I got down to 11st 6lb (although I preceded official Boot Camp with an Egg Fast).

So yes, I've been up and down a bit - usually down to emotional eating - but I've never gone back any near to where I was 3 years ago. Smile

Another recipe for all the soup lovers - courgette and Brie. I had this over the weekend and it’s delicious.

Finely dice 2 large shallots and 2 fat cloves of garlic. Fry in butter till soft.
Add in diced courgette (I used 2 big ones and it made enough for 4 portions), fry on a highish heat so they colour around the edges.
Pour in enough chicken/veg stock to come just under the courgettes. They’re watery so too much makes it thin and yuck.
Cover and simmer gently until the courgettes are falling apart.
Blend with a stick blender.
I chopped up a wodge of Brie, probably half the usual pack size and take the soup off the heat and blend the Brie in. Season to taste.

Hi, just marking my place in the new thread! Well done to everyone who lost this week and keep going for those who may have stayed the same. My challenge will be when I'm back at work on Thursday but I'm planning on preparing the night before lunches and slow cooker stuff so I don't fall into the trap of tired=takeaway which I normally do!

Today is boiled eggs with salad and mayo
Dinner will be lamb chops and veg roasted in butter

ShagMeRiggins · 19/10/2020 12:45

Hello all, just caught up. A good start for me with 7lbs down—my best first week ever, I think—but if anyone remembers my weigh in last week was fully clothed including shoes, so a bit of a false number! Grin

Anyway, I’ll take it because I know I wasn’t wearing 7lbs of clothing.

I’d love to be delightful and entertaining and fab on and on today, but too damn much to do. Will say though that I’m loving all the comments and recipes and especially wanted to thank sheepysheep for sharing on the last thread.

WATER!!!

LemonSea · 19/10/2020 12:46

poorbuthappy thanks, found Boob or Bust website calculator, took some very undignified readings and a long hard look in the mirror while I was at it! According to BOB I should be in a 34F, but my 38C minimiser fits well so I don’t know.

Putting it out there my most important goal is to get my waist down, currently 36 inches at narrowest part (42 inches at belly button) way too big according to NHS for my 5ft 5 height. 30 inches is the dream but 32 inches would be great. Glad this is a 10 week boot camp! This is all probably tmi Grin.

20bloodypounds · 19/10/2020 12:46

I've dropped 1.8lb of the bloody 20 lockdown pounds. Happy with that for a start. Delighted that last week I had NO snacks from dh's mahoosive treat cupboard. I even bought him top up items when I was shopping. However, I did buy fruit clubs not the mint one that I'd become overly fond of and I got all the flavours of crisps that I hate.

Ate at friends house yesterday evening -- well garden round their firepit wearing 4 layers of thermals. I took prawns and garlic mayo as the starter, then they'd made chilli. So it was not too difficult to avoid the baked potato, eat the meaty parts of the chilly, and top everything with cheese and sour cream. Although I noticed that they'd bought low-fat sour cream which made me irrationally annoyed.

I was driving so declined the mulled wine in favour of a mug of herbal tea. Turned out the pre-made bottle of mulled wine was non-alcoholic. Thank goodness I had my tea in hand by then. Apparently it turned out to be some sugar laden, sticky mixture, and even adding brandy to it didn't really help. A load of sugar and no alcohol - what's the point Grin

Today:
B - creamy coffee, but not until 10.30am
L - avocado, boiled egg, salad, olive oil, cucumber and celery sticks dipped in the remainder of last night's very garlicky mayonnaise keeping the vampires away
D - steak with green beans, oven roasted broccoli and a creamy mushroom sauce.

IncurablyCurious · 19/10/2020 12:48

Despite last week's ILLICIT BUN incident, I've managed to lose 6lb. I mean, I certainly have quite a bit to lose, but I'm delighted with the result, especially because I was a bit rubbish with water yesterday.

Well done to everyone who is sticking at it, regardless of loss etc; I've decided that the determination to keep at it is my real goal, over and above the weekly weigh ins, because this is typically the point that I 'celebrate' doing well by falling off the wagon Blush

I tried The Dress Which Does Not Fit on again. Might be my imagination, but it does seem like I can pull the zipper up a little further than last week.

Now to just twiddle my thumbs and wait for my grocery delivery. Thinking a mozzarella salad for lunch, and beef mince taco boats for dinner.

RitaEllen · 19/10/2020 12:57

I’ve lost 4lb so I’m pleased with that.

Rayna37 · 19/10/2020 13:07

Lovely breakfast of omelette- one of the last little home grown courgettes grated, 2 eggs and some Cheshire Cheese. No urge to snack mid morning so think I'll just stop bringing anything then it takes the boredom/temptation away. From next week I can keep a little pot of nuts (approx 30g) that can sit there in a drawer for when I really need it rather than a chunk of cheese which will go dry or mouldy if uneaten for days.

Lunch of Greek salad and yogurt. Dinner will be salmon and FLGV: probably green beans, leeks and kale. Our kale plants did really well this year, I had about 6 each of scarlet and the regular curly green type and it's been brilliant. Not too much left on them now which is good as I'm less inclined to go pick it in the dark and cold!

I only come at peeps with The Big Stick if they're not following Bootcamp rules! Anything else goes (as long as it's within MN Talk Guidelines of course Grin)

Sounds lovely! Would you mind going over to the Bootcamp recipe section and posting that in the vegetarian one, please? Flowers

Lemonsea I'll admit I wondered about the bra size too! I'm not totally convinced by the BOB method but I suspect a bigger cupsize as you go down in back size might help. Worth getting measured somewhere like Bravissimo when you feel you're ready for some new ones if that's even bloody available in Covid times

Rayna37 · 19/10/2020 13:14

Am I the only person with no interest in soup? Happy to eat salad for lunch at work all winter even though I generally prefer hot food. I think I just assume any low carb soup, without a side of bread, or chunky beans or some carby root veg in it would not sustain me. Even with carbs it's not something I'm bothered about.

Pleaseandthankyou · 19/10/2020 13:14

I have been following this thread all week and I would like to join you. Can someone please add me to the spreadsheet. Starting 178. I followed bootcamp many years ago very successfully but since the start of the year I started baking. No more. I don’t think I have ever been this heavy.

BuffyTheBuffetSlayer · 19/10/2020 13:23

Firstly, well done everyone on your losses no matter how big or small!

Secondly, bloody heck this thread moves so fast it's taken until lunch time and neglecting my toddlers to catch up 😂

Thirdly, I added my weight to the spreadsheet but I think its wrong!! I weighed 14st 10 this morning but had lots of water 😇 before remembering to check what it was in lbs. I tried to convert it online but I'm just getting the weight for 14st 7 Confused
I also made that mistake with DP's which I also added to the spreadsheet. His weight this morning was 18st 6 but the conversion was for 18st 4!!

I wont make that mistake next week! But I was wondering if anyone knew how to find the correct weight?

BuffyTheBuffetSlayer · 19/10/2020 13:28

Also, yesterday missed breakfast but had scrambled egg and bacon for lunch. And for dinner made roast beef in the slow cooker, cauliflower mash, the roasted 'shoogled' butterd sprouts along with buttered broccoli and cauliflower!! Absolutely amazing, doubt I'll go back to boring boiling! The little ones had roast potatoes and Yorkshire, me and DP were very good and resisted Grin

I steer clear of converters and go old school- 14 x number of stones, then add on the loose lbs to get the total number.
1WildTeaParty · 19/10/2020 13:47

5lb down - and I did include dairy :)
183.2 now... aiming (eventually) for 168.

OMG looked at that online. And thought ok so 14st is 196lbs. Then saw that 1lb is 465g or thereabouts and tried to x that number by the 10lbs, getting over 4000g and thought how to I convert that to lb's!!! Which led me to ask for help here!

Clearly not my finest moment 🤦‍♀️🤣🤣🤣

Summery1 · 19/10/2020 14:03

Down 2lbs. so now 158.8lbs.
I had 2 bad days last week. I felt really unwell after a 3 hour cycle, which only settled after some sugar. I was weak still next day.
Rather than fail at the strictest BC, I'm going to have a little carb with exercise, and then full on the other days.
2lbs is good. Onwards.

Congratulations to all, even if it's a STS (Stay The Same), we can all treat today as a new start.

LemonSea · 19/10/2020 14:12

Yeah this thread is so fast moving I did think of just following the L’s (10 on spreadsheet 👋🏻 ).

StuntNun · 19/10/2020 14:17

@LemonSea 34F and 38C are almost sister sizes so just because your 38C fits doesn't mean the 34F won't. Using the BOB method you will be wearing a bra that feels tighter under the boobs but gives you better support. You get used to the tightness very quickly. I've heard that Bravissimo are doing socially distanced bra fittings at the moment if you want to get a double check on your size.

@Summery1 if you're struggling during long cycle rides then try having a banana before you start. It's not Bootcamp but then Bootcamp isn't set up for 3-hour cycle rides! Once you've adapted to this way of eating you won't need it any more but that can take a few weeks.

I had an absolutely rotten night's sleep last night. DS3 was up three times and DS4 was up once. It's quite noticeable how much my appetite has increased even after only one night still can't quite manage to work out how I survived four terrible sleepers without being the size of a house.
