Xin nian kuai le!

Happy Chinese New Year. We're in week 8, and 8 is considered a lucky number in Chinese, so hopefully this week will be a good one for us all Grin

Here's the spreadsheet

A very cold week is ahead of us, so hope you all stay warm and safe

Thanks for the thread, Biwi

Rayna37 · 26/02/2018 07:52

So today is the end of my 4th week, I've had a definite two week stall, might I start to see some movement again now hopeful face

EeeSheWasThin · 26/02/2018 07:58

Thanks BIWI, on bright and early. A sprinkling of snow so far.

Delighted to say I’ve snuck into the nines this morning, just! 9st 13lb. Been a long time since I was under ten. Happy with the steady loss and the blissfully calm stomach and bowels.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 26/02/2018 08:02

Morning, all, and more thanks than I can say for all the good wishes for boycat. Flowers

He's been back home for two days now, after a week on a drip at the vets for renal failure/triaditis. It's too soon to tell whether he'll make a full recovery, but he's certainly perkier and beginning to show an interest in food again.

WOE related points Wink:

  1. I have regained my hard lost lb, and am back to that bloody 60kg stall weight. Which is not bad considering that in the last 7 days I have eaten 2 boxes of Guylian, 2 packets of crisps, and 4 bottles of wine. No other actual food, as couldn't face it, being sick with worry. Back on it today with a vengeance, and with a startling lesson learnt about emotional eating (I didn't think I had a problem with that, but clearly...).
  1. I need to re-examine my attitude to weight, either for my cat or for myself. I was delighted when my ribs started showing some definition. But I was horrified when my cat's ribs started showing some definition. There's an element of control in there, yes, as in my cat's weightloss was out of control. But I clearly feel happier when he has a bit of podge, because it gives him a margin for error. Should I not want that margin of error for myself?

Fingers crossed for all your results this morning! Huge thanks again.

BadlyParkedRangeRover · 26/02/2018 08:12

Well, I'm not surprised with this week. Alcohol stalls me dammit

Kleptronic · 26/02/2018 08:16

I've lost 4oz.

Kleptronic · 26/02/2018 08:18

Oops no I've put on 2oz.

EeeSheWasThin · 26/02/2018 08:21

Athel glad to hear boycat is a bit better. It’s such a traumatic time. Good luck with getting back to plan.

EeeSheWasThin · 26/02/2018 08:24

Rayna when I started this before Christmas, I did it for 4 weeks without losing an ounce. It was only after new year that weight loss actually started. I felt much better and far less bloated right from the start though. Keep on with it, it’ll come.

AveAtqueVale · 26/02/2018 08:36

Helloo everyone. I fell off the threads a bit the last week or so but have been perusing and see loads of people are doing brilliantly, so well done!! I’m up a lot a bit this week due to birthday excesses but could be worse, and would have been in the past. Back to strict bootcamp to try to lose it again this week I think!

TheWayOfTheWorld · 26/02/2018 08:36

Eee well done! Am a bit jealous too as 139.8lb (aka into the 9s) is my BC goal.

I knocked off another 1.2lb this week, so down to 142.4lb - 11.6lb off since Jan 8th and 3 weeks to knock off another 2.6lb.

Flowers Athelstane

headoutofthesand · 26/02/2018 08:37

Lovely news, Athel.

Would you believe it, I have weighed in at 146.8 again today! This seems to be my standard Monday weight. Luckily, I am seeing the ridiculous side of it today as otherwise I think I'd be feeling really despondent today. Other than a few mini eggs on Friday and a third of a piece of prawn toast and a mouthful of rice yesterday, I have been really diligent & not allowed carb creep. Another week of hardcore KOKO and please, please, please don't let me see 146.8 again next Monday... that would be something like the 5th Monday in a row!

TerfsUp · 26/02/2018 08:42

Morning, all!

I am starting Week 6. I am definitely feeling slimmer and using that as a guide rather than a scale.

Glad to hear about your cat, Athel.

Fingers crossed that this week shows results, headoutofthesand.

You can do it, TheWayOfTheWorld.

I'm envious, EeeSheWasThin. My dream is to get into the nine stone range.

Nan0second · 26/02/2018 08:49

64.9kg here today so almost a kg off in a week. Just started week 6 I think but that’s 5.1kg off in that time so I am really pleased.
No carb creep but I have had a tiny amount of dark chocolate and bought some hazelnuts, berries and Greek yoghurt so I need to watch that my portions don’t drift.

Mimosa1 · 26/02/2018 08:52

Morning everyone, and congratulations on NSVs and SVs alike.

Athel - I'm pleased to hear your cat is a bit better.

Down to 70.4k for me, or 400g down over last week, which I'm pleased with. I was roughly this weight when I got married several years ago. Now to get into the 60s!

SoMuchToBits · 26/02/2018 09:05

I have lost the 2lb which I put on last week (which I think might have been due to half term wine consumption), so am hoping to see a downward trend this week!

Other than the half term wine, I have been sticking absolutely to low carb eating, and have ignored all the chocolates which have appeared at work. It has been interesting listening to some of my work colleagues (who are doing Slimming World) talking about what they are eating! I feel quite relieved that I am eating food which doesn't feel like a slimming diet!

SoMuchToBits · 26/02/2018 09:08

Oh, and thank you BIWI for the new thread, and glad your cat is a bit better Athel.

prettybird, that made me laugh about your dad putting sugar on the fruit! Grin But it just goes to show how a lot of people have little understanding of what they are eating.

Bluntness100 · 26/02/2018 09:13

Well I didn't eat properly till later yesterday due to a number of factors. So I had a bit of a binge. On broccoli. You know when you're properly into this woe when over eating is too much broccoli.

The upshot is frequent loo trips this morning. 🤣

LeapinLizards · 26/02/2018 09:34

So pleased to read that your cat is back home athel. Hope he continues to improve.
I've lost half a pound this week. Such slow loss but it is a loss nonetheless.

perpetuallybewildered · 26/02/2018 09:58

Can I ask how everyone decides on their target weight? Is it like the slimming clubs where it’s decided by height?
I am within the healthy weight range according to NHS guidelines but I’m carrying so much flab. In my younger days I weighed no more than 8st for many years until I hit my 40s when I began to gain weight. At my heaviest I was 12st and am now down to 10.10 and size 14. I’m confused as to what weight I should be aiming for. I’m 65 yrs old if that’s relevant.

ilovecherries · 26/02/2018 10:02

Despite seeing 11 stone 9 a good few times last week, I was 11.10 today, so another tiny loss recorded. But the last time I was safely under 12 stone was 1987!!!! So that's a bit gob smacking.

ilovecherries · 26/02/2018 10:05

Perpetually, my initial target (I had a lot to lose) was to get into the healthy BMI. I'm 4 lbs from that now, and when I reach it will set another goal for nearer the middle of the range. I also want to get my waist measurement to be less than half my height in inches, which is a good visercal fat indicator. I've a couple more inches to go to achieve that, so I reckon nearer the middle of the bmi range is about right for me.

Rayna37 · 26/02/2018 10:19

perpetually the NHS healthy BMI is pretty broad. For my 5'3" I can range from 7st6 to 10st2. To be really slim I guess you'd want to be somewhere from a quarter to half way through that, but you'll know your own build best and also what you want to look like or how you want to feel. I think as previous posters have suggested, if you've got on well with this WoE it might mean what you consider possible and achievable to maintain might be lower than you'd have thought previously.
Clothes size on me from the range: 7st6 would be the small end of an 8 I think (but have no experience of) and 10st is getting into 14s.
For perspective I was a size 10-12 when I got pregnant and I was 6 months pregnant before I left the healthy BMI zone.
The chart from the idiot proof diet attached (in lbs) is good I think.

Week 8 - Low Carb Bootcamp - lucky number for some!
Rshard · 26/02/2018 10:35

Thanks for the new thread BIWI

Congratulations for all the sv’s and nsv’s. Well done eee, for getting into the 9’s. That’s my goal for this boot camp too.

Glad to hear your cat is home athlestane.

I’ve stayed the same week which is a bit frustrating but I’m comforted by the fact with previous regimes I would have have comfort ate but it doesn’t occurs to me with this woe at all. So I’m going to koko and not drink any alcohol (not that I drink much) and perhaps reduce the cheese a bit too.

ShagMeRiggins · 26/02/2018 10:35

It’s a loss of 2.4lbs for me this week, which pleases me. Down to 190 and only 30 lbs to go for first goal of 160lbs

That’s still about a stone more than what I’d need for Normal BMI, but it’s a weight I know that I look and feel good at and one where I can have a self-imposed “plateau” for a bit to decide if I even want to attempt a Normal BMI. There are a lot of factors to consider.

What strikes me as funny is the 30lbs feels soooo easily achievable. I can’t believe how blasé I am about it, it’s all when I get to this goal rather than can I get to this goal.

It feels like a done deal, just a matter of time. Zero angst.

Bless you, BIWI. Bless you, Bootcampers. KOKO everyone.
